Abstract:
As a case study in cultural production and consumption and of the commodification of culture in late seventeenth- and eighteenth-century England, this study examines how musicians in London began to emerge from their dependence on the patronage of court, aristocracy and church into a more public sphere, moving from positions as salaried employees to a more freelance existence where they contributed to their income by putting on public commercial concerts. Taking as its starting point the almost 50,000 references to music recorded in the Register of Music in London Newspapers 1660–1750, a database has been built to record detailed information extracted from over 12,000 advertisements, puffs and news items related to commercial concert giving in London between 1660 and 1750. Concert advertisements and other material may thus be studied longitudinally in relation to each other, providing a valuable source of data for the growth of concert giving in London over a long and important period of its development. Public commercial concerts emerged in London in the period following the restoration of Charles II in 1660, developing from private music meetings dominated by amateur performers and informal public performances by professionals in taverns via John Banister's first advertised concerts in 1672. By 1750, public commercial concerts in London may not have achieved their final form or the heights of popularity that accompanied the ‘rage for music' of the 1790s, but they were promoted regularly and with a clear sense of programme planning, laying the foundations for later expansion. The possibility for musicians to make a living as freelance professionals without having to rely solely on patronage, their development of commercial skills, their emerging links with music publishers, all this is witness to the birth of music as a business in London in the period between 1660 and 1750.

Abstract:
Muzio Clementi's symphonies were first performed in London between 1786 and 1796. After an extended hiatus from 1796 to 1813, his symphonic works appeared on programs again from 1813 to 1824. Clementi's career as a symphonist corresponds closely with trends in London's concert life. The reception of Clementi's symphonies during his lifetime has frequently been misinterpreted by scholars who oversimplify the use of "science" in musical discourse of the day and fail to consider the positive connotations of this adjective, so frequently applied to Clementi. Musical discourse at the time addressed the science and art of music emphasizing a composition, or its composer's, science, harmony, effects, genius, and the audience's response. Though an unstated ideal, reviews evince a preference for balancing scientific and artistic display. Reviews of Clementi's symphonies suggest he initially struggled to balance the technical and artistic qualities of his compositions but succeeded, according to reviews, in finally doing so in 1796. After his early efforts, Clementi was consistently praised as worthy to stand among the current and most prestigious composers of the continent: Haydn and Mozart initially, and Beethoven and Rossini later.

L'objet de cette thèse est de s'intéresser aux relations entre le compositeur allemand et la Grande-Bretagne. À première vue, cette idée peut paraître surprenante. En effet, Beethoven, compositeur allemand né en 1770, ne foula jamais le sol anglais à l’inverse d’autres compositeurs comme Haydn, Weber et Mendelssohn. Pourtant, ce travail s'efforcera de démontrer qu’une relation véritable s’était établie, qu’elle portait sur de nombreux aspects et qu’elle était mue par un sentiment d'admiration réciproque. En premier lieu, cette thèse s'attachera à définir, d'une part, les origines de l'enthousiasme du compositeur allemand pour la Grande-Bretagne et, d'autre part, les aspects de la culture britannique qui plurent tant au compositeur. Ainsi, la politique, le système parlementaire, la littérature et la musique anglaise furent autant d’éléments sur lesquels Beethoven portait son admiration. Aussi, nous retrouvons le témoignage de cette affection à travers certaines de ses œuvres et inspirations musicales. Ensuite, ce travail de recherche mettra en lumière les mécanismes qui permirent de faire de Beethoven un compositeur célébré dans tout le Royaume-Uni jusqu’à l’ériger en un nouveau héros musical britannique. Par conséquent, ce travail analysera la programmation et la réception des œuvres du compositeur dans tout le royaume et mettra en évidence le rôle du réseau beethovénien à Londres dans la promotion de sa musique. En effet, Beethoven put jouir de l’aide précieuse de deux réseaux : un premier réseau composé d’amis viennois ou étrangers résidant à Londres comme Clementi, Salomon, von Häring, Ries qui le mirent en relation avec un second réseau, composé de Britanniques comme les musiciens Smart, Neate ou l’éditeur Birchall. Ces deux lobbies se retrouvèrent dans l’outil principal de promotion de Beethoven, la Société Philharmonique de Londres, créée en 1813. La thèse démontrera également l'importance des différents aspects contextuels – social, historique et esthétique – favorables à la domination de Beethoven sur la scène musicale britannique. Enfin, ce travail montrera comment la presse fit du compositeur allemand un « citoyen » britannique. Pour terminer, au fil des pages, ce travail tentera de combler une lacune dans les études beethovéniennes, à savoir, l’explication des raisons qui poussèrent Beethoven à abandonner ses projets de visite, pourtant nombreux, en Grande-Bretagne<br>The aim of this thesis is to focus on the relationship between the German composer and Great Britain. However, at first glance, this idea may be surprising. Indeed, Beethoven, born in 1770 in Germany never went to Britain unlike other composers such as Haydn, Weber and Mendelssohn. Nevertheless, this study will attempt to show that a true relationship was established, based on numerous aspects and on a reciprocal feeling of admiration. Firstly, this thesis will try to find the origins of the German composer’s enthusiasm for Britain and it will then define the different cultural aspects that were so dear to Beethoven. Thus, literature, music and politics emerge as the different aspects of British culture which the musician admired the most. As a result, it is possible to find tokens of his fascination for Britain through his works. In the same way, this research work will describe the mechanisms which contributed to make Beethoven a celebrated composer in the United Kingdom who, gradually, became the new British musical hero. Thus, this thesis will analyse the concert programmes and reception of Beethoven’s works and it will shed new light on the importance of networks which promoted the composer within the British musical scene. Indeed, Beethoven benefited from the valuable help of two networks: the first was composed of Viennese or foreign friends living in London like Clementi, Salomon, von Häring or Ries, who put him in contact with a second network, a British one with English musicians like Sir George Smart, Charles Neate or publishers like Robert Birchall. Finally, these two lobbies merged together into one of the key elements promoting Beethoven’s music, The Philharmonic Society, created in 1813. This study will also show the importance of the social, musical and esthetical factors which favoured Beethoven’s domination of the British musical scene. It will show how the British press elevated Beethoven to the rank of “British” citizen especially during his agony. Finally, in Beethoven studies, there is a major gap to fill in: the reasons why Beethoven abandoned the different projects of visiting England

Abstract:
This thesis is about the perception and experience of health, illness and health care among Congolese refugees. It discusses the role of education, with a particular emphasis on schools, in promoting health in the Congolese refugee community, alongside the role of the Home Office, the health care sector and the Congolese refugee community itself. The thesis identifies three therapeutic systems used by Congolese refugees. These are the Congolese traditional therapeutic systems, the Christo-spiritual therapeutic systems and biomedicine. Analyses of the data demonstrate that in the quest for health, Congolese refugees develop six approaches or options. This is due to their perceptions of illness/disease or predicament, their experiences in the British health care sector as well as their concepts of risk. Moreover, analyses of the fieldwork data establish a correspondence between the conditions in exile and the Congolese refugees' health. Thus, to promote Congolese refugees' health in London, the thesis argues that their culture, their socio-economic and political conditions as well as their experiences in British health care sector must be considered. This, however, cannot be the concern of a single group. It requires the intervention of schools, the Home Office, the health care sector, and the Congolese refugees themselves. The thesis ends by evaluating its main arguments in the light of Congolese refugees' therapeutic options as well as its methodological stances.

Pretendeu-se neste estudo compreender a visão de saúde e doença que permeia a mente dos futuros médicos e traçar que relações são estabelecidas entre a noção de saúde e doença com o currículo escolar e com as experiências pessoais e a trajetória social e profissional do aluno ao longo da graduação. Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo, utilizando-se um questionário psicossocial e entrevista semi-estruturada com alunos do primeiro, terceiro e sexto ano de 2008 da Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP-EPM). O material foi submetido à análise de conteúdo. As experiências e as características pessoais de cada participante, assim como as experiências curriculares e extracurriculares, e o currículo oculto influenciam tanto na visão que possuem de saúde e doença quanto na escolha profissional. Notou-se certo esfriamento na relação médico-paciente, uma postura de maior desconfiança em relação aos pacientes, ao longo da graduação. Os graduandos demonstraram uma necessidade de se protegerem dos sentimentos despertados pelas vivências durante o curso de medicina. Ficou claro que os alunos possuem o conhecimento de uma visão mais global e humana do paciente. No entanto, é como se cognitivamente os mesmos detivessem esse conhecimento, mas emocionalmente não conseguissem colocá-lo em prática. Essa problemática estaria vinculada ao fato de terem dificuldade de entrar em contato com esses aspectos em si mesmos.<br>The concepts of medical students about health and illness in the early graduation depends on your knowledge and past experiences as well as the degree of contact with medical practice and the reality that surrounds this issue. The aim of this study was to understand the vision of health and illness that pervades the minds of future doctors and delineate the relationships established between the notion of health and illness, the school curriculum, personal experiences and trajectory of social and professional student throughout the course. It was conducted a qualitative study, using a psychosocial questionnaire and semi-structured interviews with students from first, third and sixth year 2008 the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESPEPM). The material was subjected to content analysis. The experiences and personal characteristics of each participant, as well curricular and extracurricular experiences, and the hidden curriculum influence both the vision they hold for health and disease as their career choice. We can note certain coldness in the doctor-patient relationship, and greater distrust of patients throughout the course. Students graduating demonstrate a need to protect the feelings aroused by the experiences during the medicine course. It is clear that students have the knowledge of global and human care patients. However, it seems that they know cognitively, but emotionally they could not put it into practice. The increase of trading has created many environmental, ecological, social and ethical problems. The main concern across all industries is to create more sustainable, eco-friendly and ethical manufacturing processes. Only by influence consumer's purchasing behavior there might be the demand for eco-green products. The fashion and textile industry as one of the main contributor to the world's economy is one of the main environmental polluter (e.g.: soil, lakes, river and air). Recently, many young fashion designers started to offer eco-green fashion to the market. This new phenomenon might change the course of the world fashion industry. The goal of this research is to find out the real demand for eco-green products and its impacts on the traditional methods of fashion manufacturing. Three geographical areas where chosen to represent consumption side (US and EU (UK)) and manufacturing side (China). The specific fashion garment was chosen to demonstrate detailed analysis of the manufacturing processes and its new eco-green formula -- the denim jeans. The primary and secondary research approaches were chosen to cover the whole industrial view on this phenomenon. The outcome of the research showed that the major impact was on the general consumer's purchasing behavior and their life style. It is a new trend and concept that is reshaping the traditional fashion business models. Denim jeans industry leaders such as Levi's Strauss are in process of implementing eco-green, ethical and fair-trade factors into their long-term strategy.

A pesquisa, que teve por objetivo investigar a constituição e a relevância dos conhecimentos do currículo de Ciências do Ensino Fundamental, foi realizada em duas etapas. A primeira parte da pesquisa, investigação com os professores, teve como objetivo elucidar as concepções dos docentes dos três ciclos de uma escola municipal de Lajeado/RS, organizada por Ciclos de Formação, acerca dos conhecimentos que são construídos ao longo do Ensino Fundamental, na área de Ciências. Inicialmente, através de entrevista semi-estruturada os oito professores entrevistados falaram sobre suas concepções acerca do currículo de Ciências do ciclo onde atuam e sobre o currículo de Ciências do Ensino Fundamental. Através desta etapa da pesquisa constatou-se que os professores desta escola são comprometidos com a proposta do currículo e acreditam que a proposição deste deve considerar os interesses dos alunos, sua vivência e aprendizagem, no contexto social e cultural. Consideram ainda a relevância da área da ciência para a formação do cidadão, e da abordagem integrada das temáticas desenvolvidas nos três ciclos. Em seguida, num questionário contendo noventa e quatro proposições acerca do currículo de Ciências do Ensino Fundamental os professores classificaram cada uma das proposições quanto à sua relevância no currículo de Ciências do Ensino Fundamental. A partir das informações obtidas através da investigação com os professores, foi elaborado um instrumento de pesquisa a ser aplicado na segunda parte da pesquisa, investigação com os estudantes. Os vinte e nove estudantes concluintes do Ensino Fundamental do ano de 2007, da mesma escola, resolveram as vinte e seis questões do instrumento de pesquisa elaborado a partir dos resultados da pesquisa com os professores. Para a análise da pesquisa dos estudantes, as questões foram organizadas em três categorias (questões dissertativas, questões objetivas, questões envolvendo interpretação de gráficos e tabelas), sendo que algumas delas foram incluídas em mais de uma categoria. A partir da análise das questões das três categorias verificou-se que, no geral, os estudantes tiveram bom desempenho, demonstrando terem conhecimentos necessários para a resolução das mesmas. Ao longo da discussão das respostas foram apontadas questões com baixo índice de acertos, possíveis causas e soluções para a melhoria do Ensino de Ciências no nível Fundamental de Educação.<br>The objective of the research was to investigate the constitution and relevance of the Elementary Education Science curriculum knowledge and it was performed in two stages. The objective of the first part of the research, investigation with teachers, was to clarify the conceptions teachers had in the three cycles at a municipal school in Lajeado/RS that is organized in Formation Cycles, of the knowledge that is built throughout Elementary Education in the Sciences area. Initially, with a semi-structured interview, the eight teachers who were interviewed talked about their conceptions of the Sciences curriculum in the cycle they work on and of the Elementary Education Sciences curriculum. From this stage in the research it was found that the teachers at that school were committed to the curriculum proposal and believed that its proposition should take into consideration the interests of students, their life experience and learning in the social and cultural context. They further consider that the relevance of the science area in the formation of citizens and of the integrated approach by the themes developed in the three cycles. After that, using a questionnaire with ninety four propositions about the Elementary Education Sciences curriculum the teachers classified each proposition regarding its relevance in the Elementary Education Sciences curriculum. From the information obtained by investigating the teachers, a research tool was developed to be applied in the second party of the research, the investigation with the students. The twenty nine students, who were finishing the Elementary Education in 2007, were from the same school and solved the twenty six questions in the research instrument developed from the results from the research with the teachers. To analyze the research with the students, the questions were organized into three categories (essay questions, objective questions, questions involving the interpretation of graphs and tables), some of which were included in more than one category. From the analysis of the questions in the three categories, if was found that overall, students had good performances, showing they possessed the knowledge required to solve them. During the discussion about the answers, questions with low rates of correct answers were pointed out, as were their likely causes and solutions to improve Sciences Teaching at the Elementary Education level.

As certificações ambientais surgiram neste cenário para orientar os envolvidos no processo afim de reduzir os impactos ambientais causados pelo setor. Neste contexto, a eco-eficiência e a eco-eficácia apresentam diferentes abordagens a este tema e fundamentam as análises da certificação LEED realizada neste trabalho. O trabalho tem como objetivo geral analisar a atualização dos critérios ao longo das versões de um programa de certificação ambiental de prédios (LEED) a partir dos conceitos de eco-eficiência e eco-eficácia. Como objetivos específicos, esta pesquisa analisa: (i) a atualização dos critérios do programa de certificação para as fases de projeto e de uso ao longo do tempo; (ii) a pontuação de um prédio certificado, considerando os critérios na versão atual da certificação; (iii) o prédio certificado a partir dos conceitos de eco-eficiência e eco-eficácia. Para avaliar a atualização dos critérios da certificação ao longo do tempo foram realizadas análises de cada requisito das certificações de projeto e operação das versões v3 (2009) e v4 (2016). Esta etapa resultou em macro alterações na certificação, como o surgimento de novas tipologias, do Processo de Projeto Integrado e a criação de uma categoria exclusiva para Localização e Transportes. A avaliação do prédio na versão mais atual da certificação v4 (2016), foi realizada através de visitas à edificação e entrevistas com os operadores da mesma. Esta etapa resultou no decréscimo da pontuação da edificação para a certificação de projeto na v4 (2016). Porém, a certificação de operação atingiu classificação máxima (Platina), com 82 pontos, pelo fato de os operadores já praticarem diversas ações que a certificação exige, independente da certificação de projeto. Por fim, foram avaliados como a certificação e o prédio certificado atendem aos conceitos de eco-eficiência e eco-eficácia, afim de verificar se produzem impactos positivos no meio ambiente ou apenas os reduzem. O estudo revelou que a certificação está em busca da produção de impactos positivos no meio ambiente e de inovações tecnológicas, apesar de ainda estarem presentes em um pequeno número de créditos.<br>The rational use of materials in the construction industry and the responsibility this sector has towards the environment has been object of research in the academia over the past few decades. In this context, the environmental certifications have arisen to guide the involved in the processes, seeking to reduce the environmental impacts caused by this sector. The analysis conducted in this study is based on the different approaches the concepts of eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness brought on the subject. The main goal of this essay is to analyze, at the light of eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness, the criteria evolution of an environmental certification program designed for buildings (LEED) over the course of time. As specific objectives, this study evaluates: (i) the updates of the certification program criteria for the design stage and operations and maintenance stage from version v3 (2009) to version v4 (2016); (ii) the comparison between the score achieved by a certificated building, taking in consideration the criteria of the certification program’s current version and its previous version; (iii) the aspects of eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness of the certificated building. Each of the conditions of versions v3 (2009) and v4 (2016) of both the design certification and operations and maintenance certification has been analyzed in order to evaluate the updates over the course of time. This analysis showed significant changes in the certification, with the inclusion of new typologies and important concerns, such as the Integrative Process and the establishment of a new category exclusively for Location and Transportation. The evaluation of the building under the conditions of the latest version of the program was performed through visits and interviews with its operators. A comparison between the building scores obtained in versions v3 (2009) and v4 (2016) showed a decrease in the latter. The building achieved a total of 82 points on the operations and maintenance certification, reaching the Platinum category, despite the lower score on the design certification, due to the practices required by the program already being performed by its operators. Finally, the certification and certified building were evaluated against the aspects of eco-efficiency and eco-effectiveness in order to verify if the generation of good impacts on the environment are taken into consideration or if they rely solely on the reduction of bad impacts. The study revealed that the certification analyzed is seeking the generation of good impacts and technology innovation, although these concepts are still verified in a just few credits.

Abstract:
As marcas, cada vez mais, recorrem ao imaginário único, distinto e sofisticado. Recorrem aos métodos extravagan- tes para captar a maior atenção do cliente. Ao longo do tempo, no âmbito do design de interiores, foi criado o conceito de flagship store, para conceber projetos com mais identidade de uma marca. Para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho, foi elaborada uma breve pesquisa histórica sobre os espaços comerciais, desde a idade média até aos dias de hoje. Seguidamente foi elaborada uma análise de cinco casos de estudo de dferentes marcas, como: Nike, Camper, Issey Miyake; Prada e G-Star Raw. Por fim, é executado um caso de estudo da marca Fly London e desenvolvido um projeto de uma flagship store no centro do Porto. O conceito do projeto é baseado na pesquisa dos estilos da empresa, nos elementos figurativos da Arte Nova e no movimento.

碩士<br>國立中山大學<br>音樂學系研究所<br>88<br>The compositional periods of Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of J. S. Bach, include Berlin, Italy, and London, and the keyboard concertos were written in Berlin and London. The works written in Berlin period were influenced by his brother, C. P. E. Bach, and the styles of those concertos written in London were created under the musical atmosphere of London society. The thesis is a study of the relationship between the London musical society and keyboard concertos of J. C. Bach. The discussion includes three chapters, in addition to the introduction and conclusion. Chapter one is the general discussions about the composer, the development of solo concerto, and historical background of the keyboard concerto in London. The second chapter focuses on the musical society in London in the second half of the eighteenth century. The third chapter contains detailed discussions of the style differences of the keyboard concertos composed by J. C. Bach between the Berlin and London periods. J. C. Bach was the private music tutor of Queen Charlotte, while traveling in London during 1762 to 1782. At the same time, he also participated in teaching, composing, performing, and organizing public concerts very actively. He wrote three sets of keyboard concertos, opus 1, 7, and 13. Each set includes six concertos, and each of which mainly contains two movements. The style of keyboard works of J. C. Bach are characterized by the pre-classical styles of symmetry and balance of the phrases. The concertos were written mostly for amateurs, and in order to satisfy the necessity of the musical market and teaching, the skill of the solo part was not technical demanding, they were simple. The concertos were composed for both harpsichord and piano, but more intended for the piano instrument, especially opus 7 and 13. The wealth economy, the improvement of manufacture techniques of the keyboard instrument, the prevailing public concerts, and the musical needs for Royal family and amateur musicians in London were the important reasons that effected the stylistic changing of J. C. Bach’s writing of keyboard concertos.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with the concept of place and its transformation in the context of transatlantic transformations that still till nowadays stood aside the interests of the professional community. Representative place in the thesis is an example of the american bar, where the institution symbolized the newly established cultural elements gradually penetrated into the whole society and to this extent it could be viewed as a passenger concept venue. The main pillar of the thesis is to take into account sociocultural, economic, demographic and political aspects of bar environment as a peculiar manifestation of transatlantic communication. The key question to the concept of place is therefore whether the European continent was in the interwar period under a wave of Americanization, which in various locations showed a totally unique way that reflected the rising standard of living, while within the United States shaped this culture again by different way. On the other side, we meet with the complicated situation in the form of "dry" America and "thirsty" of Europe, or whether it was just an extraordinary manifestation of transatlantic relations and interaction, which would have thus secondarily been demonstrated modifications to the original concept in a European environment. Abstract:
Classical violin concertos by English composers are relatively obscure nowadays, as the genre is largely monopolized by Mozart’s last three concertos. This study explores the compositional and violinistic traits of ten English concertos from the late eighteenth century, as well as the social and cultural circumstances under which they were written. These concertos are challenging violinistically, suggesting that they were primarily intended as virtuosic showpieces. In addition, a number of the concertos display musical eccentricities that hint at the quirky personalities of their composers. In some respects, these concertos are unadventurous, particularly in terms of harmony and thematic contrasts. However, they contain a number of unique compositional features that are worthy of our attention. The most notable of these is the incorporation of Baroque features in a large number of the concertos, despite their general adherence to the new galant style. All evidence suggests that the two styles were combined deliberately as a compositional technique, and this is perhaps the most distinctly “English” characteristic of these concertos.

Este trabalho centra-se no estudo da educação não-formal (ENF), tendo como principais objectivos contribuir para a compreensão da problemática da ENF à luz do paradigma de aprendizagem ao longo da vida, para a clarificação da pertinência da ENF enquanto conceito e proposta educativa, e ainda fornecer pistas para o desenvolvimento de políticas educativas integradas em Portugal. Assente numa pesquisa documental, foi desenvolvida uma abordagem multidisciplinar para procurar compreender a ENF a partir dos enquandramentos teóricos e conceptuais existentes. Da mesma forma, este trabalho procura enquadrar a ENF nos vários contextos institucionais a nível nacional e internacional. O estudo empírico foi desenvolvido através de um trabalho de natureza qualitativa, recorrendo-se à análise de conteúdo de fontes documentais escritas – os contributos dos coordenadores dos projectos do Programa Escolhas sobre a educação não-formal. Procura-se desta forma dar visibilidade e compreensibilidade às práticas e experiências existentes no contexto português, contribuindo para caracterizar e compreender a educação não formal numa perspectiva contextualizada. A partir da pesquisa realizada é possível apresentar a identificação de um conjunto de abordagens do conceito de ENF, fornecendo pistas de articulação e comunicação entre diferentes actores educativos. Como conclusão, reconhecemos a necessidade de contextualizar o(s) conceito(s) de educação não-formal, não se conhecendo definições únicas ou consensuadas e relançamos a pertinência e a incontornabilidade da educação não-formal na procura de novos paradigmas e novas respostas educativas.<br>This work focuses on the study of non-formal education (NFE), being its main objectives: to contribute to the understanding of the NFE problematic in the frame of the lifelong learning paradigm, to clarify the pertinence of NFE as a concept and as an educational proposal, and to provide guidelines for the development of integrated education policies in Portugal. Based on a documental research, a multidisciplinay approach was developed in order to seek understanding NFE from the existing theoretical and conceptual framework. In the same line, this work tries to set NFE within the various institutional contexts, both at national and international level. The empirical study was developed through a qualitative-oriented research, based on the content analysis of written documental sources – the contributions of the project coordinators of Programa Escolhas, on non-formal education. By this means, we try to give visibility and comprehensiveness to the practices and experiences existing in the Portuguese context, contributing to characterise and understand non-formal education in a contextualised perspective. From this research, it is possible to identify a set of approaches to the concept of NFE, providing keys to the articulation and comunication between different education stakeholders. As a conclusion, we recognise the need to contextualise the concept(s) of non-formal education, given that the non existence of single or unanimous definitions, and we do relaunch the pertinence and inevitability of non-formal education in seeking new educational paradigms and responses.
