Abstract:
Abstract The shedding without dynamic warp loading is presented by a loom structure with the use of assembles of multi-angle shedding disks, e.g. quadrangular shedding disks and disks for increasing weft density. Several sets of these assembles form the rotating weaving drum, which is electronically controlled. The new machine loom, the multi-layer rotational weaving machine, allows the manufacture of completely new woven fabric structures, which until now was impossible to achieve with the use of conventional weaving machines. Woven fabrics can be manufactured with the use of warp and weft threads of extremely low tenacity, loose structure and strong developed surface, as can grid structures and woven structures with pile loop. The possibility to utilise unspinnable yarn, roving and selvedges was demonstrated on a model weaving machine specially constructed for the tests.

Abstract:
Abstract. CV Jaya Lestari is a company engaged in the Grey fabric manufacturing industry. This research was conducted in the Production Division which carried out the process of winding yarn until the yarn was woven to become a finished product, namely Grey cloth. The operating machines consist of ilsin machines, todo machines and water jet loom machines. The Water Jet Loom machine is the machine that has the highest downtime, which is 161.88 hours. Downtime on the Water Jet Loom machine resulted in the company not being able to produce gray cloth. Maintenance time intervals are carried out for the three critical components of the Water Jet Loom machine, namely the cutter, leno and feeder. The calculation results show that 80% reliability results in a maintenance interval for the cutter component of 48 hours, the leno of 59 hours, and the feeder of 23 hours. With the resulting maintenance interval, the downtime of the cutter component can be reduced to 2.44 hours, the leno component to 7.15 hours and the feeder component to 17.77 hours. Abstrak. Abstract:
The electrical control system of rapier weaving machines is susceptible to various disturbances during operation and is prone to failures. This will seriously affect the production and a fault diagnosis system is needed to reduce this effect. However, the existing popular fault diagnosis systems and methods need to be improved due to the limitations of rapier weaving machine process and electrical characteristics. Based on this, this paper presents an in-depth study of rapier loom fault diagnosis system and proposes a rapier loom fault diagnosis method combining edge expert system and cloud-based rough set and Bayesian network. By analyzing the process and fault characteristics of rapier loom, the electrical faults of rapier loom are classified into common faults and other faults according to the frequency of occurrence. An expert system is built in the field for edge computing based on knowledge fault diagnosis experience to diagnose common loom faults and reduce the computing pressure in the cloud. Collect loom fault data in the cloud, train loom fault diagnosis algorithms to diagnose other faults, and handle other faults diagnosed by the expert system. The effectiveness of loom fault diagnosis is verified by on-site operation and remote monitoring of the loom human-machine interaction system. Technical examples are provided for the research of loom fault diagnosis system.

PT. AIC uses a manual system in engine maintenance management. This makes it difficult to access in measuring the rate of damage, for acceleration information in maintenance management. This problem requires an identification to provide an effective machine maintenance management information system. The MTBF value will be able to detect machine damage, especially the piccanol gamma loom machine. The MTBF value can see the damage to the machine by looking at the condition of the machine, the data history of machine damage, the number of machine failures that occurred in a certain period. The MTBF value of the machine can control the reliability and know the life of the machine. Action maintenance can be done before the machine is damaged. After calculating the MTBF value of the piccanol gamma loom machine, it is still relatively small so the machine is still often damaged.

Abstract:
Controlling the weft density in the course of weaving is of great importance in technical textiles production. In this study, a closed loop control system was designed and implemented in a weaving machine. Moreover, a PID algorithm was used in the control system. The control action starts by taking a picture from the fabric near the cloth fell. A machine vision system was prepared to calculate the number of weft yarns per inch. Based on the measured weft density, the take-up roller speed was adjusted by changing the supply voltage to the take-up motor. Because of the variable delay between the weft density measurement and cloth fell, the normal PID control system was not able to provide a robust action, and thus, a Smith predictor was utilized to modify the control behavior. The results of set point tracing and regulatory control action indicated the satisfactory performance of our novel system in various tests.

Abstract:
The 19th century saw sweeping changes for the development of astrobiology, both in the constituency of empirical science encroaching upon all aspects of life and in the evolution of ideas, with Lyell's Principles of Geology radically raising expectation of the true age of the Earth and the drama of Darwinism questioning biblically literalist accounts of natural history. This paper considers the popular culture spun on the crackling loom of the emergent aspects of astrobiology of the day: Edward Bulwer-Lytton's The Coming Race (1871), which foretold the race of the future, and satirist Samuel Butler's anticipation of machine intelligence, ‘Darwin Among the Machines’, in his Erewhon (1872). Finally, we look at the way Darwin, Huxley and natural selection travelled into space with French astronomer Camille Flammarion's immensely popular Récits de l'infini (Stories of Infinity, 1872), and the social Darwinism of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine (1895) and The War of the Worlds (1898). These works of popular culture presented an effective and inspiring communication of science; their crucial discourse was the reducible gap between the new worlds uncovered by science and exploration and the fantastic strange worlds of the imagination. As such they exemplify a way in which the culture and science of popular astrobiology can be fused.

Abstract:
The weaver sits at the loom, moving with the rhythm of the shuttle, quietly counting or cursing, as row by row of lines of interconnected fiber is added into a set of raised and lowered threads. The threads are raised and lowered in different configurations for each flight of the shuttle, adding to the material line by line. A screen, a paper, a punch card holds the abstract of the pattern, but this is only a part of it. The emergent pattern is embodied in the weaver, their movements and rhythms entangled with the blue shuttle, gray shuttle, right-hand flight, left-hand reed, weft and warp, threads and yarns, that together form the double weave, the actual pattern—what is made, what is newly materialized from this hybrid arrangement.

Two-dimensional or three-dimensional (3D) textiles have been used as reinforcement in composite materials. Most techniques for weaving 3D textiles have been developed to obtain a compact preform so that the final product, the fiber-reinforced composite, has a high volume fraction of fibers with the least fraction of matrix for high strength. Contrarily, this article describes a novel technique for weaving a loose 3D preform called wire-woven bulk Kagome with polymer wires or threads. Firstly, the principle is explained by using a manual loom. A weaving machine is then designed with detailed mechanisms and its prototype is presented. Abstract:
One of the main weaving defects that reduces the quality of solid fabrics is streaks that appear after stopping the machine. These bands differ from shortcuts in that they only form when the machine is put into operation. The reason for the formation of boot bands can be due to the characteristics of both the elastic feeding system and the design of the main machine parts involved in the fabric formation process: batons, waste, feeding devices material for the machine with the base. and discard the finished fabric. On textile machines, for ease of maintenance, the machines are stopped and started in a stagnant position, and with each subsequent start of the machine, the baton and together with the reed do not have time to gain inertial force. that they have when the machine is running. As a result, the strength of the reed waves may not be enough, leading to the formation of shear lines (release strips). The main controller of a nonclosing loom does not control the tension of the sole after stopping the machine. Warp tension due to warp yarn slackening and fabric changes, resulting in a change in tension at the first pass. On a weaving machine, the elastic fabric forming system (ESFF) consists of two heterogeneous warp and fabric systems, with different stretch characteristics, and when the weaving machine is stopped, the relative lengths of the warp and fabric as well as the total The tension of the elastic system changes the formation of the fabric. In this case, the total length of the elastic tissue formation system does not change.

Abstract:
Abstract Weaving on the handloom in India remains in the twenty-first century a large industry practiced by several million people, including, besides weavers themselves, others engaged in supporting activities. Indian hand weaving is a potentially viable ecological textile industry for the future, particularly if factors such as environmental damage and social costs are included in measuring viability. However, Indian hand weaving suffers from the perception that it is a relic of the past. Too, in the market it is undercut by cheaply made machine-produced cloth fraudulently sold as handmade. Research into the history of hand weaving revealed that there were two distinct modes of production, one in which expensive cloth was made for the elite, and another in which ordinary cloth was made for ordinary people. Since the making of expensive fabrics needed expensive raw materials, the weavers were dependent on an investor to supply these materials, creating a hierarchic dependency. The vernacular production of cloth, on the other hand, was democratic with lateral relations between the different stages of production. Malkha has simplified spinning by avoiding bale-pressing cotton lint, a technology introduced in colonial times to carry cotton long distances from the field. Malkha spinning centers are substantially smaller in size than conventional mills, closer to the small scales of Indian cotton farming and hand weaving.

Abstract:
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a system of maintenance and repair of machines or equipment involving all divisions and employees ranging from operators to top management based on mutually agreed commitments. The methodology used in writing this thesis uses field studies, namely by making observations and direct research on machine maintenance systems at PT. SNA Medika, while the purpose of this paper is to conduct an analysis of the maintenance management system of the doomby shuttle loom machine that is applied at PT. SNA Medika and provide suggestions for improvement of the maintenance system by implementing a preventive system using the maintenance method of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) consisting of total effectiveness variables, and calculating and analyzing the total effectiveness variables contained in the TPM system by using the TPM Index method. Implementation of the maintenance system or treatments that refer to the application of the 5R work culture are less effective. This is indicated by the still high rate of engine failure, high engine downtime, and low values of effectiveness, such as the effectiveness of machine availability (AV), production effectiveness (PE), effectiveness of quality level (RQ), and overall effectiveness of machines and equipment ( OEE). Through the analysis of the Cause and Effect diagram, it can be seen that the overall effectiveness of the machine is still 64% (not yet meeting the JIPM standard,> 85%). Therefore a production machine maintenance program is made using the TPM method, which consists of maintenance by the operator and the formation of small group activities (AKK).

Abstract:
In his 1945 Nobel Prize acceptance speech, Sir Alexander Fleming warned of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) if the necessary precautions were not taken diligently. As the growing threat of AMR continues to loom over humanity, we must look forward to alternative diagnostic tools and preventive measures to thwart looming economic collapse and untold mortality worldwide. The integration of machine learning (ML) methodologies within the framework of such tools/pipelines presents a promising avenue, offering unprecedented insights into the underlying mechanisms of resistance and enabling the development of more targeted and effective treatments. This paper explores the applications of ML in predicting and understanding AMR, highlighting its potential in revolutionizing healthcare practices. From the utilization of supervised-learning approaches to analyze genetic signatures of antibiotic resistance to the development of tools and databases, such as the Comprehensive Antibiotic Resistance Database (CARD), ML is actively shaping the future of AMR research. However, the successful implementation of ML in this domain is not without challenges. The dependence on high-quality data, the risk of overfitting, model selection, and potential bias in training data are issues that must be systematically addressed. Despite these challenges, the synergy between ML and biomedical research shows great promise in combating the growing menace of antibiotic resistance.

High performance fiber reinforced composites have a long history and wide usage in aerospace, sports, military, etc. In this paper applications of composites on textile machinery were elaborated, such as carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) guide bar, composite rapier belt and rapier head in rapier loom, nylon shuttle, carbon fiber composite heddle frame for high-speed looms, transmission shaft, needle bed, conveyor belts. It indicated that the composites can improve the performance obviously. Along with the rapid development of textile, fiber reinforced composites are continuous replacing the traditional materials as cast iron, steel and aluminum textile machine parts, But the applications of composites on textile machinery are still in the initial stage. High price is the major obstruction factor for its development. Through improving the level of automation technology, reducing producing cost, rational design of structure, the producing cost can be sharply reduced, which is also benefit for textile machinery development.

Abstract:
Exploring the effect of tuck loops on fabric properties of some knitted structures was aimed in this study. Samples were produced on a Stoll V-bed knitting loom with 100% acrylic yarn. Five types of knit structures (1x1 rib, half cardigan, double half cardigan, cardigan and double cardigan) were knitted with identical machine settings. Test results revealed that double cardigan fabric has the highest fabric thickness, thermal resistance and coefficient of friction. Double half cardigan provides the highest air permeability, whereas 1x1 rib structure has the highest relative water vapor permeability, mass per unit area and loop length. Half cardigan has the highest bending rigidity. Half cardigan and double half cardigan both have the best pilling results. It was observed that test results of half cardigan-double half cardigan and cardigan-double cardigan are generally similar as pairs. However, dimensional, mechanical and comfort characteristics of 1x1 rib fabric seem quite different.

Abstract:
The increasing need of consistent implementation of lightweight constructions in many technical fields makes the manufacture of near net-shaped node structure to be used in textile-reinforced composites a subject of great interest. The manufacture of the node structure is required to provide a strong node point whilst maintaining the circumference of each adjoining strut. Despite a variety of available methods to produce three-dimensional nodal fabric, the required geometry for the complex nodular connection element has not yet been fully achieved. Furthermore, the available methods have limitations. The developed woven concept in this work allows for maintaining the configuration of the node structure and dimensions of the tubes, especially at the node points. As a result, all tubes positioned at node points are fully open; this is accomplished without distorting the surrounding area once the flat woven node structure is removed from the loom and erected into three-dimensional configuration. In order to produce a three-dimensional structure on a conventional weaving machine, the structure must be flattened in an appropriate way. By using a mathematical algorithm, it is possible to graph the flattened structure precisely. The developed weaving concept and relating calculation are applied to create the weaving plan of the spatial nodal structures, which can be produced on a shuttle weaving loom. The developed concept in this paper will provide repeatable manufacturing of complex node structures by using the conventional weaving loom. The struts of node structures manufactured using this method can be woven at any angle and with spatial arrangements.

Abstract:
Air-jet loom is a textile machine designed to drive the long fiber using a combination flow of high-pressure air from a main nozzle and a series of assistant nozzles. To make the suggestion of how to make the fiber fly with high efficiency and stability in the jet flow, in which vortices also have great influence on fiber movement, the large eddy simulation method was employed to obtain the transient flow field of turbulent jet, and a bead-rod chain fiber model was used to predict long flexible fiber motion. The fluctuation and velocity of fibers with different linear densities in jet flow were studied numerically. The results show that the fluctuation amplitude of a fiber with a linear density of 0.5 × 10−5 kg·m−1 is two times larger than that of a fiber with a linear density of 2.0 × 10−5 kg·m−1. The distance of the first assistant nozzle from the main nozzle should be less than 120 mm to avoid collision between the fiber and the loom. The efficient length of the main nozzle to carry the fiber flying steadily forward is about 100–110 mm. For fibers with a linear density of 0.5 × 10−5 kg·m−1, it is suggested that the distance of the first assistant nozzle from the main nozzle is about 110 mm. With the increase of fiber linear density, the distance could be appropriately increased to 140 mm. The simulation results provide an optimization option for the air-jet loom to improve the energy efficiency by reasonably arranging the first assistant nozzle.

Abstract:
Warp tensions were measured while a machine was operating on a woven cotton fabric with three different woven patterns. This study was carried out with image analysis methods using a high speed camera. Three weave pattern types: plain, twill and satin were woven on the same weaving machine, and thus it could be understood how weave pattern differences affect warp tension. Each of these three weaves was woven in three weft densities: 20, 28 and 45 wefts per cm. These fabrics were able to be made on a weaving machine with an automatic dobby. It was aimed to investigate warp tension differences for three basic weave patterns while keeping all machine settings constant. The weave settings of the dobby were changed for plain, twill and satin weaves. Warp tension calculation was based on the warp elasticity theory. Warp elasticises were measured by image processing methods in MATLAB using a high-speed camera. It was aimed to improve upon the new method of warp extension measurement of fabric when the loom is in operation. It was observed that the warp tension in plain fabric was higher than for twill and satin under the same conditions.

Abstract:
Spare filling patterning capacity on a loom can be utilized by replicating one or more filling colors, which can increase the filling replenishment interval. However, with the magazine-type mechanisms used on shuttle and Sulzer-type projectile machines, larger minimax magazine movements, and hence lower machine speeds, could result. The effects on minimax movement of replicating one of up to five colors are investigated for the worst case. Each combination of an initial number of colors, degree of replicate-color vertex in the color-change diagram, and sizes of minimax magazine movements with and without replication is considered. Even in this worst case, about 53% of all forms of replication do not affect the minimax movement; the others increase it by only one step. The forms of replication that increase the minimax movement are specified. The greater the number of colors adjacent to the replicate in the filling repeat, the more likely replication will increase minimax movement, other things being equal.

This Research work involves the dyeing of woolen yarn with Indigo dye in package dyeing machine. Indigo, “Blue of Blue Denim” has been mostly applied using Conventional Method that use very high pH (11-12) to dye Cotton [2]. Indigo is insoluble in water, to use it must be chemically reduced to a water soluble form (Yellowish –Green Color) which have affinity for the fiber and after adsorption of reduced dye on the surface it is oxidized back using chemical or air oxidation to convert it back to insoluble Blue form where dye remains in relative permanence [5]. Whereas, dyeing of Wool is normally carried out in Acidic Conditions as chances of chemical attack on peptide & cysteine linkages is very high in Alkaline Condition causing Deterioration of Wool . In Present Work, dyeing of woolen yarns is carried out using Indigo at different Depths in Package Dyeing Machine. Woven sarong craftsmen in Wedani Village in carrying out their work activities make sarongs using non- machine looms. Work starts from 07.00 to 16.30 for 6 working days a week by producing 1 to 4 sarongs per day. The craftsman's activities when moving the loom have a support load that lies on the lumbar vertebrae, because when weaving the craftsman is in a 90° sitting position. This study aims to describe the shape of stress markers and their location related to length of work, intensity of activity, and limb movement muscles of the upper and lower extremities which have the greatest influence on the appearance of osteophytes in the lumbar vertebrae. The research was conducted using data collection techniques in the form of X-ray results and supported by literature studies related to the muscular system in the lumbar vertebrae which affect the movement system. The results of X-ray analysis showed that there were 42.8% stress markers in the form of osteophytes in the lumbar vertebrae of woven sarong craftsmen with the same location of osteophytes. Stress markers appear in the form of osteophytes on the lumbar vertebrae of woven sarong craftsmen according to the height of the age factor, namely 43-47 years, length of working period, namely 30-35 years, intensity of work, and the burden on the limbs, namely the upper extremities and lower extremities on the lumbar vertebrae as a support when moving the loom. Based on the X-ray results of the lumbar vertebrae of the woven sarong craftsmen in Wedani Village, it shows that out of 7 samples, 3 samples experienced stress markers in the form of osteophytes on the lumbar vertebrae and 4 samples had normal conditions.
