Full textThe employees at Hälsocenter Västmanland works with a model called solution-focus. Solution-focus is a model with the aim to create a image of the future in the context of a change, mainly individually but also in groups and organizations. Solution-focus is a model that focuses on experiences and resources of individuals. The purpose of the study was to examine how the staff at Hälsocenter Västmanland was experiencing the model solution- focus in meetings with clients. To answer the purpose a qualitative approach was used with semi-structured interviews. The respondents in the study were the employees at Hälsocenter Västmanland who works with clients along with the model solution-focus. The data was analyzed using an indicative manifest content analysis. The result showed that the solution- focus is a model that contributes to a positive behavior in the clients who comes to Hälsocenter Västmanland. The model is not perceived as stressful for the staff since it is the clients themselves who must come up with solutions and find resources within their lives. However, it can be difficult to use the model if the clients do not have any, or have a reduced cognitive ability.

Full textThe intention with this study was to gain broader understanding for solution-focused brief therapy. Solution-focused brief therapy is a method that is shifting focus from problems to focus on solutions instead. Previously, the work method has been initiated in client talks, but today it is also used in leadership. Solution-focused leadership is about helping employees to find ways forward with a focus on the goal that they have. It is about asking solution-focused questions. The aim of the study was to investigate how public sector managers use solution-focused brief therapy methods and how they experience that the method works in the organization and in the relationship with the co-workers. A qualitative research method was chosen with semi-structured interviews as the data collection method. When analyzing the collected material a manifest content analysis was conducted. The results of the study show that the managers’ interest for solution-focused approaches was created because it focused on solutions instead of problems. This can be linked to a salutogenic perspective, which focuses on what makes people healthy instead of what makes people sick. The managers also experience that working with solution-focus is an ongoing process and, among other things, achieved results in terms of participation, creativity and employee co-creation. This can be linked to social construction where solution-focused work methods have it origins from. In social construction it is about creating reality in the dialogue between people. The managers also felt that the efficiency had increased within the organization and that it had resulted in a more open climate at the workplace. This in turn can be linked to health-promoting workplaces as it is important that there are development opportunities and opportunities for well-being.

Abstract
The Family board in Falun gives since a couple of years priority to intense familytheraphy work with families in need of help/support. Intensive family therapy (IFT) was developed during the 1970s with the purpose of helping families. The theoretical mainlines upon which the IFT – model is based is the, structural-, strategic- and systemic perspective. The purpose with this study is to examine if the IFT – models theoretical starting points are being used in the practical work with the families, in the chosen activity, and the result of the treatment. 14 interactive journals from families, which have finished their treatment, were analysed in our study.
From the journals of the family board, the summary made by the family therapist, literature, and scientific articles about family therapy we made a number of hypotheses, to which we with help from our line of questions elected the answers. We have analysed the results from mainly a qualitative approach, but we have also used a quantitative approach depending at the fact that we want to examine if the family board uses the IFT – model. How the families themselves consider how they have been helped and the unanimity considering the outcome of the results, was analysed out of this approach. In our point of view the quantitative part becomes a complement to the qualitative results. Our conclusions of the results compared to the purpose of the study reveals that the family board works according to some of the criterias of the “IFT” model, which is shown in the journals and clearly marked, and unanimity exists according to the view of a positive outcome between the families and the therapists.
Finally we would like to request further research and investigation within this subject, and hope that this study has awakened some interest for the model.
Sammanfattning
Familjeenheten i Falun bedriver en verksamhet med inriktning mot ett intensivt familjeterapeutiskt arbete med familjer som är i behov av stöd/hjälpinsatser. "Intensiv Familjeterapi" (IFT) utvecklades som behandlingsmodell under 1970- talet med syfte att hjälpa familjer. De teoretiska huvudinriktningar som "IFT" - modellen bygger på är: den strukturella, den strategiska och den systemiska riktningen. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om "IFT" modellens teoretiska utgångspunkter används i det praktiska arbetet med familjer, samt hur utfallet av behandlingen upplevs av inblandade aktörer. I studien har vi analyserat 14 stycken journaler från familjer som avslutat ett intensivt familjeterapeutiskt arbete. Utifrån familjeenhetens journaler, familjeterapeutens terapisammanfattning samt litteratur och vetenskapliga artiklar om familjeterapi skapades ett antal antaganden, som vi med hjälp av uppställd frågeställning valde att söka svar på. Resultatet har analyserats främst utifrån en kvalitativ, men även kvantitativ ansats då vi dels ville undersöka om akut- och familjeenheten använt "IFT", men även undersöka om familjer anser sig fått hjälp och hur samstämmighet kring utfallet i så fall såg ut. Vi menar att den kvantitativa delen blev ett komplement till det kvalitativa resultatet. Vår bedömning utifrån studiens syfte är att familjeenheten arbetar utifrån "IFT" modellens intentioner. I journalerna synliggörs dels vissa kriterier som; problembeskrivning, hierarkisk organisation, praktiska arbetsverktyg och samtal, hur man arbetar utifrån "IFT" modellen och att det råder samstämmighet, mellan familjen och familjebehandlaren, kring ett positivt utfall. Kriteriet reflekterande processer återfanns inte i journalerna. Vår förhoppning är att studien kan komma att ligga som grund för fortsätta utvärderingar eller nya undersökningar.

Full textStudiens syfte har varit att med hjälp av kvalitativ metod och ur internernas synvinkel utvärdera projektet ”Sitta inne med kunskap”, som riktar sig till interner på Norrtäljeanstalten. Målet är att belysa och analysera internernas egna upplevelser av och åsikter kring projektet. Ett delsyfte är också att genom tidigare forskning få en insikt i livet som intern. För att uppnå syftet formulerades tre forskningsfrågor: 1. Vad är projektets syfte enligt intervjupersonerna och hur upplever de att det uppnås? 2. Hur beskriver intervjupersonerna fängelsemiljön respektive samvaron i projektet? 3. Av vilka anledningar medverkar intervjupersonerna i projektet? Projektets syfte är att i samarbete med skolelever utveckla ett brottsförebyggande material åt ungdomar. Intervjuer har genomförts med fem interner på Norrtäljeanstalten. Lösningsfokuserad teori och rollteori inkluderat stämplingsteorin har använts som analysverktyg. Studiens resultat har stöd i tidigare forskning vad gäller upplevelsen av att sitta i fängelse som präglas av en jargong och en egen typ av livsföring. Resultatet beskriver den känsla man kan få som kriminell, av att vara stämplad. Intervjupersonerna beskriver projektet som något helt unikt. Internerna blir behandlade som experter, med respekt. De känner att de kan göra skillnad i samhället och mår bättre av medverkan. Brukarutvärderingen visar att projektet varit lyckat och man hoppas det fortsätter.

Full textThe aim of this study was to describe how the social worker’s professional role and work identity can be constructed in the case manager’s assignments and in relation to the existing discourses in the field. Previous research in this field has shown that a case manager’s work is complex and that it can be difficult to perform their assignments according to the law. Partly because of the ideological and economic development in society, which might lead to changes in the organization, and partly due to the consideration of public interest. The empirical part of the study consists of interviews with five social workers. One of these social workers did not have a regulatory exercise assignment. To reach the aim of the study, a theoretical discourse perspective was used. The result showed that the work identity of the case manager is constructed through the discourses of the context and in relation to the assignments given to each case officer from the organization. The social worker identity was assigned with different meanings and different discursive requirements and expectations regarding how to behave and act.
