Full textHow did people influence the decisions of the absolute King? This work analyses the mutation of the "devout party" configuration at the Court of France, under King Louis XIV, King Louis XV and King Louis XVI. The first part of this thesis shows that the "devout party" represented a royal catholic faction in the XVII century and at the beginning of the XVIII century. This kind of organized party was based on patronages and families that defended State Catholicism ideas in the same vein as cardinal de Richelieu. A second part deals with the change of the royal catholic faction into a proto-party which was supporting absolutism against Parliaments. Progressively, people entering this party were mostly defending ideas rather than being loyal ta social conventions. Since 1769, the "devout party" was confronted in the government to the wearing down of the power and to internal quarrel. At the beginning of 1780, the "devout party" had lost its political weight

Full textThe education of the princes as illustrated by famous names- Fénelon or Bossuet- would seem to be well known. Many tutors however are unknown and no overall study spanning the two centuries of their contribution to the education of an ideal prince has been carried out. At the end XIXth century, the research undertaken in parallel with the development of the state education gave a partial vision of the princes education. The cultural history of the elite and the study of the courses open new fields of investigation. The material taught require a new approach and a second reading of the sources is essential (manual written for the education, exercise books, works of dedication, instruments teaching). This work sheds new light on the education of forty-two princes who were future kings or heads of household such as Conti, Condé and Orleans. What does "to educate a prince" mean during the Modern Age? How can we understand the education of a future King? Which virtues are transmitted? What knowledge and behaviour are necessary to learn how to govern? Who should be chosen for these tasks? From 1610 to 1789, humanistics models, the study cursus in the Colleges or in aristocratic education were put to use with the aim of creating a model of education for the princes founded on a hierarchy of knowledge in which history played a fundamental role. The model needed to be adapted to ever more complex forms of government. This thesis is composed of three parts: a study of the personnel with the heavy task of raising an ideal prince, an analysis of the educational theories and the means used and the practical "making" of an idéal prince with regard to both his virtues and his manner

Full textThe present work deals with the hydrothermal synthesis of 2:1 phyllosilicate with a saponite type-like structure in fluoride medium and the soft and direct synthesis of 2:1 organophyllosilicates. The effects of the different parameters controlling the presence of aluminum in the tetrahedral sheet were studied. Saponite was only obtained for a low substitution rate of aluminum in fluoride and acidic medium, whereas high substitution rate in basic medium has been provided a saponite-like structure. A proposition of a formation mechanism is given. In basic medium, the 2:1 phyllosilicate structure is induced by the hydrotalcite formation and in acidic medium by the polysilicic acid formation. Different kind of hybrid lamellar materials were also prepared : a lamellar organoaluminosilicate having no phyllosilicate structure, a lamellar organomagnesoaluminosilicate having, as inorganic parent, a 2:1 phyllosilicate structure. A formation mechanism was proposed. These materials are very interesting in the chelating of heavy metal cations

Full textWe present the actual knowledge of the electrokinetic remediation theory. A bibliographic study shows that the laboratory tests are more common than the field tests. Studied pollutants are heavy metals and organic products. We realised our electroremediation experiments with two Cd-spiked clayey materials. The composition of the materials is about 40 % of silica powder and 50 % of phyllosilicates, with nearly exclusively kaolinite for the first one and 75 % of kaolinite, plus 20 % of chlorite for the second one. We realised 6 cell tests with each material, with a current density of 0. 1 mA/cm2 and 0. 3 rnA/cm2. During the experiments without a catholyte pH control, Cd precipitated in the soil giving hydroxides complex. A catholyte pH near 3 allowed the Cd extraction from the soil. The removal rates vary from 91 % to 99 %. Two pilot-scale studies, a monolayer test and a bilayer test, with a current density of 0. 3 mA/cm2 were conducted. The catholyte pH was controlled to allow Cd extraction from the sediment. The remediation rate reached 98. 5 % for the monolayer test. During the bilayer test, a zone was progressively ignored by the electrokinetic treatment. In that zone, the final Cd concentrations were high, whereas everywhere else they were almost the same as the monolayer's. The final extraction rate was 88 %. In order to simulate the cell tests, a numerical model was written. The results give a good adequation with the experiments. The simulations show us that the time to extract a given Cd quantity from the soil is inversely proportional to the current density, the other parameters being constant

Full textResearch for the properties of quarks gluons (QGP), state of ultra-dense matter post-Big-Bang predicted by quantum chromodynamics, is since around thirty years an active domain in high energy physics. The stake is of size in the measure of experimental implemented means (experiment RHIC in the USA, LHC in Europe) during ultra-relativistic heavy ions collisions, because it will open the knowledge of an essential period of early universe. One of the probes promising as for the determination of these properties is « heavy quark »probe. The systematic study of its bound states indeed allows in theory to determine the existence of the QGP. The understanding of interaction between states bound and QGP requires first of all a precise knowledge of the distribution of this type of quarks in QGP. The present work of thesis suggest, at this end, exposing a complete model of heavy quarks propagation in QGP, from creation to detection of D Dbar electrons. The distribution is modelised by a generalized Fokker-Planck equation, while the QGP is feigned by means of a model relativist hydrodynamics calibrated by the last experimental measures. The statement is centred on a quantitative calculation of collisionnal and radiative Fokker-Planck coefficients. The obtained results are completely non-coarse and show that the presented model gives not only access to important thermodynamics properties of QGP and will allow too, after refinement, a better understanding of the interaction of heavy quarks boiund states with QGP, so by assuring us that quark gluon plasma exists well and truly under the shape predicted by the quantum chromodynamique or not

Full textThe historians call the son of Louis XIV Grand Dauphin to differentiate him from his son Louis, duc de Bourgogne became dauphin in 1711. The king called him Monseigneur. He was sung of as son of the king, father of the king, never the king himself. Son of the king : he was born in 1. XI. 1661 : the Pope was his godfather and the Queen of England his godmother. His guardian was the duc de Montausier and his tutor, Bossuet. He attended the Royal Councils and represented the king in Paris. He acquired the skills of dancing, horse riding and the handling of weapons. In 1688, the king having entrusted him with the commandant of the Army of the Rhine, he forced Phillipsburg to surrender, which geatly enhanced his reputation. Father of the king : in 1700 Charles II of Spain selected as his successor Philippe the second son of the Dauphin who manipulated the system to enable the will to be accepted depite his own rights since, legally speaking only he, as Dauphin, was entitled to the throne of Spain. Louis XIV loved his son who met all his wishes as a father. In 1680 he married Marie-Anne of Bavaria who bore him three sons. Louis duc de Bourgogne, father of the future Louis XV, Philippe duc d'Anjou, future king Philipp V of Spain and Charles duc de Berry. Never the king : the Dauphin devoted himself to his favourite pursuits; hunting, festivities, music and operas. He constructed a new castle at Meudon, the Château Neuf, where the apartments were arranged in a novel manner with a central corridor making the various rooms independent from one another

Full textNowadays fans are often kitsch and for tourists. Associated with fashion, these fragile feminine objects have been misjudged and remain unknown. Built for this thesis from public and private collections and public sales, an eclectic database is capable, thanks to a statistical approach, to query and study 2350 items. This study deals mainly with the topics on fan leaves during a very long Eighteenth Century. Twenty monographs are focusing on objects of the various determined categories. Statistics and monographs, informed by the observation of contemporary art and society, enter into dialogue. The Fan appears as a reflection of art through myths, sacred and ancient history, and morality painting. But it is also a witness or an actor in the social, political, and theatrical life, and even used for promoting economic projects or for caricature. Almost all fans carry a meaning, even those "without history", adorned with pastoral scenes, seemingly only mirrors of fashion or occasions of entertainment. This meaning has long been obscured because of the social transformations of the Nineteenth Century, perhaps for the reason that fans were originally an area of freedom and power of women - even going to libertinism? - For this objet d’art, both public and private, speaks, through the subjects that adorn it, a real speech (largely related to marriage but to love as well). Woman was both recipient and speaker. Studying these objects and learning to decipher their messages would improve their understanding and benefit various disciplines

Full textThis work concerns the study of peripheral heavy ion reactions induced by 40Ar beams at intermediate energies. The results obtained ln similar studies at low incident energies are first of all reviewed. The time of flight spectrometer built for the experiments is then described. It performances allow an excellent charge and mass separation of the reaction products and a good energy resolution. A study of the properties of the projectile-like fragments shows numerous deviations from the relativistic energy fragmentation modal. Evidence for a strong surface transfer reaction component is given and the persistence of mean field affects at Intermediate energies is stressed. A calculation of the contribution of the transfer evaporation mechanism to the inelastic spectra shows that this mechanism is responsible for the major part of the background measured at high excitation energy and can in same cases induce narrow structures in the spectra. The inelastic spectra show a strong excitation of the giant quadrupole resonance. In the region between 20 and 80 MeV excitation energy narrow structures are present for all the studied systems. Statistical and Fourier analyses allow to quantify the probabilities of existence, the widths and the excitation energies of these structures. A transfer evaporation hypothesis cannot consistently reproduce all the observed structures. The excitation energies of the structures can be well described by phenomenological laws where the energies are proportional to the -113 power of the target mass. Complete calculations of the excitation probabilities of giant resonances and multiphonon states are performed within a modal where the nuclear excitation is calculated microscopically ln the Random Phase Approximation. It is shown that a possible Interpretation of the structures is the excitation of multiphonon states built with 2+ giant resonances

Full textThis PhD work deals with the synthesis of organized mesoporous silica (OMS) with controlled porosity and hydrophobia. In a first part, the formation of MSU type materials was studied by in situ techniques (fluorescence, DLS and NMR). The mechanism of formation, proposed from the obtained results, is based on interactions between silica polymers and surfactant molecules, initial micelles playing only a role of reservoir of surfactants. In a second part, various OMS were functionalized either by post-synthesis grafting, or by a direct route with two types of organic groups (n-propyl and 3-mercaptopropyl) in order to study the influence of the geometry and the pore size on the functionalization process. Materials functionalized by the direct route show a more significant grafting rate and a more homogeneous distribution of the organic functions to the detriment of a lower organization of the porous network by comparison with post synthesis grafted materials. The capacity of fixation of Hg species was studied on the OMS functionalized with thiol groups

Full textSurfaces impermeability is enhanced by urbanisation, leading to the increase of volumes and polluting loads of stormwater runoff. Consequently, in the East of Lyon, stormwater are discharged in infiltration basins. Contaminants are supposed to accumulate at their surface layer, but little is known concerning their long term fate. In particular, bacteria are liable to facilitate metallic transfer through the vadose zone to the aquifer. This study aims at identifying mechanisms and conditions of mobilisation and transfer of three heavy metals (Zn, Cd, Cu) and bacterial colloids, in realistic conditions. Copper mobilisation from the polluted layer depends on soil solution transfer and hydrodynamical conditions, while other elements seem to be dissolved from a common organo-mineral matrix: amounts released are similar whatever the experimental conditions. Finally, bacteria contents depend neither on initial water content, nor on flow conditions. Amounts of Cu and colloids potentially released from the polluted layer are substantive. The unpolluted layer retains a fraction of dissolved and colloidal matter, but preferential flows and colloidal transport, depending on hydrodynamical conditions, favours metallic transfer. Consequently, a scheduled scrapping of the polluted layer and an improvement of the retention of particles before they enter basins are advised

Louis's career was very prolific until the french revolution, but was later virtually suspended. His creations enable us to apprehend an artistic temperament rather than to define a style. Rejected by the academy architects because of his ties with marechal de richelieu and the duc d'orleans, he was called upon by private clients who he satisfied with versatility. Champion of the "greek fashion" in decoration strongly influenced by palladio, michelangelom vignola, bernini and piranesi, he astered the french master masons tradition, while skilfully employing techniques foreshadowing the 19th century
