Abstract:
The exploration and use of outer space, which began in the mid-twentieth century, led to the formation of international space law, designed to regulate the relations of States in this relatively new sphere of human activity. The undulating nature of the development of this branch of international law, for objective reasons, has led to the complication of international legal regulation of space activities. The dynamics of scientific and technological progress and the development of technologies in the space sphere exacerbates competition between space powers and international organizations, creates new challenges for international cooperation in space exploration and requires innovative legal solutions. The doctrine of international law is faced with the task of generalizing new problems and processes and developing conceptual models for the further development of international space law. The dynamics of the conceptual perception of international space law is traced, new theoretical approaches to the concept of the international legal status of outer space and individual regimes and concepts of its use in modern conditions are proposed. Taking into account the trends in the institutionalization of international space activities and the impact of economic integration processes on international cooperation in space, primarily in the Euro-Asian region, the role of international organizations in the international legal regulation of space activities and the harmonization of national legislation is analyzed. In addition, certain aspects of future space exploration are considered as a legal forecast. For researchers, teachers, postgraduates and students, civil servants and practicing lawyers, as well as for anyone interested in the problems of modern international law.

Abstract:
This chapter aims to provide a comprehensive perspective on human behavior by studying the role of the distal environment on developmental processes. Social class, or more specifically socioeconomic status, is an all-encompassing context that has great significance in engulfing human phenomena. This chapter first reviews extant psychological literature on the deleterious effects of low social class on development and presents three studies as cases in point, demonstrating the significant impact of the context and contextual change on behavior. Kağıtçıbaşı’s theory of family change proposes three models of family: family of interdependence, family of independence, and family of emotional interdependence. Parenting, however, directly reflects family characteristics. Thus family change theory has led to a theory of the autonomous-related self. The chapter also presents research illustrating the impact of the objective environment and in particular the detrimental effects of low socioeconomic status on various developmental, social, and academic outcomes of Turkish samples.

Abstract:
In the post-financial crisis era, conduct regulation has permeated every facet of an institution’s operations. Not only does the legal framework for the delivery of redress impact the legal risk profile of an activity, but the very ‘approach’ of the regulator exacerbates the legal risk inherent in that activity. This issue is of specific relevance in the context of mis-selling cases, as the regulator may direct (or otherwise sponsor or influence) the terms of redress and in ways that may not be perfectly aligned to a strict application of liability under English common law. This chapter first explores post-financial crisis litigation and criminal charges and the influence of government and regulators on the provision of redress. It then analyzes a legal brake on liability — specifically, the impact of contractual estoppel in mis-selling cases. It concludes with a review of the regulatory factors relevant to redress and the leveraging of post-crises sentiment to promote extra-regulatory schemes.
