Radio and television stations consistently have offered entry-level news salaries below those provided by daily newspapers, public relations, and advertising employers. The data reported in this paper show an oversupply of labor in radio news, television news, and daily newspapers. That oversupply probably serves to hold down salaries generally and to explain the lower pay in television news in comparison with daily newspapers. Television has many more persons seeking entry-level jobs than jobs available.

The security sector, in particular, has a severe labor shortage due to the harsh working environment, which involves working early in the morning, at night, and outdoors. Due to the effects of COVID-19, facilities have been closed, price competition among security companies has also had an impact, and salaries are low and career development is difficult. Even in relatively open spaces such as university campuses, patrols are necessary from a safety perspective. University security operations are

In the growing literature on gender and taxation in low-income countries, little attention has been given to the implications of having more women in tax administration. This is even true in high-and middle-income countries, with a recent OECD survey of 43 countries reporting that in four out of every five cases studied, no analysis had been undertaken of the gender dimensions of tax administration. The gender imbalance in revenue administrations of low-income countries remains high though it varies from country to country. It is especially pronounced in senior management positions. This study

Using student-level longitudinal data for all California schoolchildren, the study is the first comprehensive investigation of LCFF’s impacts on student outcomes, including math and reading achievement, grade repetition, school disciplinary incidents, high school graduation, and college readiness.
