Abstract:
Abstract A hybrid energy storage system (HESS) by integrating Lithium-Ion Battery and Wind Turbine System for Electric Vehicle is designed and implemented. An advanced model of lithium ion/wind turbine HESS model is developed to improve the battery’s charging capacity. The behavior of this model is tested by using Machine Learning Algorithms to identify remaining battery capacity of the energy storage components. The Machine learning Algorithms such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Random Forest (RF) Decision Tree (DT) and Linear Regression (LR) are implemented which helps in predicting the State of Charge (SoC) in the electric vehicle to estimate the battery’s lifetime. The SoC of the EV without HESS is calculated and compared with the SoC of HESS implemented EV model. Sensors are used to measure the current and voltage parameters of the Lithium-Ion Battery setup (Internal Battery) and Storage Battery (External Battery). The measured data is sent to the LPC2148 ARM microcontroller Board. The data that is obtained from LPC2148 is given as input to the machine learning algorithms which are executed in the Computer. Performance metrics such as Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Root Mean Square (RMSE), R-Square Error (R2E) and Mean Square Error (MSE) are calculated and the SoC values are predicted. The Random Forest algorithm produces better results for the HESS model as the Error values produced are less than 2.5%. The battery capacity of the electric vehicle has been improved by using external battery that is charged by wind turbine. Thus, the driving range of the electric vehicle implemented with HESS is increased twice when compared to conventional electric vehicle [1].

<p>Beverage vending machine systems are becoming popular in the Indian market.These systems are today available in Indian MNCs and some top rated restaurants and hotels.In most systems the operation are carried manually by the operator in which the billing and change making is carried out by the owner who runnig the shop or restaurant.In India tea and coffee habits were cultured by the colonial rule of the British and the Portuguese,even tody the colonial rule had been over but the habits of tea and coffee beverage consumptions becomes as the routine daily life.Hence there is a need to understand beverage vending machine systems to serve the Indian Market.</p> <p>In this paper,a critical analysis of requirement has been carried out and the system design had been arrived at.The system requirement demand an ARM based controller for better system performance.To meet the system performance criteria and richest of peripherals an LPC2148 with low cost had been selected.The system is more efficient to analyse the change making and the identification had been carried out using the motors,LCDs,water heater,solenoid valve,money box,change making and dispensing unit.</p> <p>The system is tested and validated for the specified test cases.The milk motor run for 10 rotations to drive 200 milligrams of milk powder to the container to make to tea or coffee beverage.In this system a stepper motor had been used can be replaced by using dc motors to avaoid power losses.In future an ATM or credit card based payment system can be incorporated to these systems.</p>

This paper presents an efficient approach to switch on/off and control the intensity of an LED bulb from a remote place using Android Applications installed in a Smartphone. As LED household bulbs and lights are energy efficient, drop-in replacements for the incandescent lighting found in homes and offices. These lights produce a warm brightness while providing a significant cost savings over traditional lighting. Bluetooth & Wi-Fi modules are used simultaneously as an interface that make connection between Android Application and the LPC2148 controller by which the generated output can be viewed with the help of an LED bulb and control various other devices, based on the availability in particular areas.

This project work is focused on the remote control car which is widely used in search missions such as in the occurrence of natural disasters and calamities. This system is developed using ARM 7 (LPC2148) microcontroller to detect the obstacles and the live bodies that are caught beneath the natural disaster without any harm to human beings. This car module is made up of a commercially available remote car chassis and controlling of the motor is performed using motor control unit (L293D). An exclusively developed Android application is adopted for controlling the car with Bluetooth as the platform. Also the UV sensor is integrated in the system to sense the obstacles and the objects. The Wi-Fi camera is erected for monitoring of real-time situations.

Fast growing technologies have made pervasive computing elements part of our routine life. These computing elements dissipate a lot of energy, and power optimization is one of the critical design aspects of such systems. In this work an intelligent laboratory automation and resource management system (iLARMS) is proposed, which incorporates power-aware strategies activated in software with hardware support. In the current work, investigations are carried out to observe the energy issues of the application and the processors used. Various software techniques for energy saving are incorporated in the application level and in the processor core level. The hardware implementation of the proposed resource management system is carried out using PIC16F877A and ARM7 LPC2148 microcontrollers and Intel Core 2 Duo processors. An average energy saving of the order of 48.78% was achieved with iLARMS when compared to a conventional resource management system.

Migratory birds are crucial health indicators of the environment, but monitoring their patterns has grown more challenging with fast-paced environmental changes. This thesis suggests an intelligent, low-cost system combining embedded electronics and machine learning to provide real-time bird migration analysis. The design revolves around the LPC2148 ARM7 microcontroller with GPS, temperature, and accelerometer sensors integrated into it. Designed on Proteus simulation, the circuit provides energy-aware and scalable field deployment. The natural migration pattern is simulated using Fibonacci and sigmoidbased models to identify biologically plausible behaviour. Sophisticated AI algorithms such as LSTM for sequence forecasting, Random Forest for behaviour classification, and Autoencoders for anomaly detection were used on synthetic and open-source Movebank datasets. Outcomes display high accuracy, minimal energy expenditure, and real-world usability. This research is a promising contribution to smart wildlife telemetry and conservation technology

Abstract One of the greatest challenges faced by Electric Vehicle (EV) manufactures is insufficient charging stations. Estimating the aging of the battery in the electric vehicle helps the driver to predict the driving range of the vehicle. This paper proposes a battery management system that is developed to predict remaining battery charge of the Electric Vehicle. The aging of the lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery present in the electric vehicle is predicted using different machine learning and deep learning algorithms. The parameters such as voltage, current and temperature are taken from the sensors connected to the LPC2148 ARM board and the values are given as dataset to the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Decision Tree (DT), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Naïve Bayes (NB) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) Algorithms. The experimental results indicate that for real-time data Naïve Bayes algorithm gave the best results in terms of metrics such as Accuracy, Precision, Recall and F1-score. Naïve Bayes produced results with the accuracy rate of 88% and used to calculate the Remaining Battery Capacity which helps predicting the aging of the lithium- ion battery.

The urban traffic congestion is being increased day by day due to large number of vehicles are used by dense people in cities. In the current model of the Traffic Control System, the time delay of each signal light is static which leads to lot of waiting time and was tage of fuel. To overcome this problem, intelligent traffic management system of controlling the traffic lights using the ARM 7 controller and camera sensor is proposed. The camera which is installed along the pavement captures the real time video of the road. The video is then processed indifferent stages to find the number of vehicles in that particular lane using Convex hull technique and accordingly the time delay of the traffic signals has been changed dynamically. Incase, if an emergency vehicle like ambulance is detected by RF434 in a particular lane then automatically this lane will be given the highest priority to clear the traffic. Another feature is if any vehicle violates the traffic line that can also be identified by the RFID reader and automatically and an alert message will be sent to registered mobile number through GSM module which is interfaced with LPC2148.

Keeping all these in mind a new system is proposed which can perform the necessary steps to prevent accident and incase if accident happened system will inform the owner and ambulance about this accident by tracking location using GPS and send text message using GSM. The designed system involves in two sections1. Monitoring 2.control. These two are two sequence of actions. In monitoring phase it detects alcohol consumption, steering wheel grip, engine Temperature measurement, accident detection and distance between front and corresponding vehicle .In controlling phase system responds automatically for the above abnormalities and controls the engine. system software is designed using “ RT kernel” and “Keil Micro vision 5” to be worked on the target board of LPC2148. This system makes vehicles as highly secured.

Even after the advancements in technology, there is a need for instrument health care interactions due to varied reasons. This aproach discusses about the development of wireless transmission of oral feeding disorder with the help of flow sensor, sound sensor and EMG sensor for the early intervention of the any oral feeding difficulties in the child. The flow sensor is used for sucking and sound sensor is used to detect the swallowing sound and EMG sensor is used to record the muscular activities of the premature infants. And then, the temperature sensor, BP sensor and heart beat sensor will display the values of the premature infants through LCD. In sensing unit, ARM7 (LPC2148) microcontroller is used to program and work the circuit. In software requirements, Keil compiler and embedded C language is used. Zigbee is used for wireless communication and this will act as a transceiver and the final values will be displayed by lab VIEW software through PC. So Finally, This system has designed for a real time monitoring system with oral feeding for the preterm infants.

The use of a real-time operating system is required for the demarcation of industrial wireless sensor network (IWSN) stacks (RTOS). In the industrial world, a vast number of sensors are utilised to gather various types of data. The data gathered by the sensors cannot be prioritised ahead of time. Because all of the information is equally essential. As a result, a protocol stack is employed to guarantee that data is acquired and processed fairly. In IWSN, the protocol stack is implemented using RTOS. The data collected from IWSN sensor nodes is processed using non-preemptive scheduling and the protocol stack, and then sent in parallel to the IWSN's central controller. The real-time operating system (RTOS) is a process that occurs between hardware and software. Packets must be sent at a certain time. It's possible that some packets may collide during transmission. We're going to undertake this project to get around this collision. As a prototype, this project is divided into two parts. The first uses RTOS and the LPC2148 as a master node, while the second serves as a standard data collection node to which sensors are attached. Any controller may be used in the second part, depending on the situation. Wireless HART allows two nodes to communicate with each other.

Now a days bore well are present in all areas, and the access rate of bore wells are been increased day by day in order to stagnate the water. Unexpectedly some of the bore wells have not been closed after digging. Some of accidents happening where children unexpectedly fall into bore well. In order to rescue the child we have many techniques. It take very long time and also complicated process to save the child from bore well, and also risk factor involved in the operation is more. Our Paper implies a new design which has a sensor kept at top of bore well hole which helps to sense the child if he/she fell inside. If the system senses the child the automatic horizontal closure kept at around five feet depth closes and prevents the children from falling beneath it. With the help of pulley system, the horizontal closure can be moved up to take out the child from well. This system also alerts by giving siren and information can be displayed with the help of LCD. Hence this system will help to protect children from falling in bore well. In this paper we propose as system architecture using LPC2148 micro controller. The proposed system is one of the smart ways to save the child from bore well.

The basic idea of this paper is to transfer data which is generated from smart meters or any other source securely from transmitting station to receiving station according to a standard algorithm with the help of zigbee modules and a specific controller. The information which is generated with the help of PS2 keyboard or from the smart meter is encrypted and sends to the destination. The prime aim of this study is to design and implement effective real time healthcare monitoring dashboard for on spot accident patients who is injured and went to unconscious state. The proposed system monitor the ECG, EEG, EMG waveforms, Temperature, heart beats etc, and transmit those vital parameters wirelessly through wifi technology. The transmitted patients data is displayed in the PC based application called the central nurse station where PC with the receive wifi acts as hub. This data gets updated into database continuously. From the database of the android application fetches all the updated data, stores and displays it. This enables the doctor to receive the current status of an accident patient in real time. The parameters of a particular patient go beyond a threshold value an automated notification will pop up in doctor android mobile application. This android application can also generate call option if the doctor will not notifynotification messages. Additionally system is also able to generate alarm to notify nurse around for emergency treatment and by using GSM module the patient data's can also be send to the authorized person i.e friends, relatives etc. Ultimate goal of this project is to implement a low cost, high efficient and effective wireless real time system for health monitoring through telemetry system. The advent of Internet communication standard, TCP/IP, offers significant potential in terms of remote monitoring and management of construction sites using embedded systems. In this paper the design method of low cost system of remote data monitoring, and recording is designed based on ARM. For this a small HTTP SERVER is built in LPC2148 and it is connected with the remote monitoring terminal through Ethernet. The data can be stored in the SD Card via SPI interface. At the same time, for the sake of the versatility, the FAT file system is built in the SD Card. So, an Ethernet-enabled remote data monitoring system with the ability of data recording is built. This design is having advantage of cost-effective, easily realized, stable and reliable transmission. It can be connected to the INTERNET or LAN through TCP/IP protocol. FreeRTOS is used as an operating system running on ARM processor, an industrial grade RTOS for hard time applications. By this design the data is sent without a PC and system favour’s large scale data acquisition system.

The proposed system provides vehicle with safety features like SMS alert facility, blind spot detection and tail gating detector. The vehicle is equipped with angle sensors and a GSM modem interfaced with NXP ARM 2148 processor. The driver has access to a user interface consisting of LCD and switching ports. The driver may aware two modes of angle sensing with sensors located on centre of the Vehicle. A braking system can be actuated in the parking mode if the distance measured from the sensors crosses the defined threshold. In case of an emergency the driver can send a text or call from the stored numbers in the memory using the keypad. To save time and to maintain the driver’s focus on the road a default text can be sent to a default number by a single key pad entry. Call service from the system eliminates the need of using the phone and prevents driver’s loss of focus. Further the freedom to choose the number and the corresponding message to be sent is available when the vehicle is at rest. The results show that: the wire feed change rate of designed system is very small, which not only meets the requirements of JB/T-1998.MIG/MAG arc welding standard, but also greatly improves the accuracy and stability of control system.

Abstract:
A design method of the digital signal generator, based on LPC2132 as the master control chip, is introduced in this paper. The system has used of a chip of the direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDS) and a complex programmable logic device(CPLD) to produce the sine wave, square wave and triangle wave, and has designed circuits of analog signal amplification and gain control. Realized the switch of different signal through the keyboard, it is a new kind of the digital signal source, which has performances including stabilizing waveform, higher precision, adjustable amplitude and frequency on the permitted scope.
