AbstractThis article addresses the onset of a decades-long conflict between the ruler of the Holy Roman Empire King Ludwig IV of Bavaria and the papacy. When Ludwig intervened on behalf of antipapal factions in northern Italy in 1323, Pope John XXII issued an ultimatum demanding that Ludwig immediately cease to exercise the royal power and title on the pretext that he had never received papal approval of his royal election. Failure to comply meant that the king would fall under sentence of excommunication. Ludwig responded with nearly identical appeals issued in Nuremberg and Frankfurt. Agains

Ansgar urodził się w Pikardii 8 września 801 r. Był arcybiskupem Hamburga-Bremy oraz apostołem krajów północnych. W dzieciństwie oddano go do opactwa benedyktyńskiego w Corbie. W 823 r. Ansgar został wysłany razem z innymi zakonnikami do Neu-Corbie w Westfalii, gdzie w tamtejszej gminie powierzono mu wprowadzenie systemu szkolnictwa i duszpasterstwa. Był on tam także nauczycielem w szkole klasztornej. Ansgar został przydzielony do wyprawy króla duńskiego Haralda Klaka i pracował jako misjonarz na terenie Danii. In this paper, we describe the case of a 45-year-old male who presented with recurrent swelling of the submandibular region. The last episode of the swelling was triggered post tooth extraction. There were associated features like increased temperature and leukocytosis. The patient was started on IV antibiotics and analgesics and with incision and drainage the patient improved with no sequelae.

Although researchers have long considered the impact of the Thirteen Years’ War on the Teutonic Order’s coinage in Prussia, Polish coins were studied completely separately from the events of the war. In this paper we attempt to change this approach. In Prussia, after a war debasement, the ‘good shilling’ was restored in the years 1415–16, as a coin containing 0.87g of pure silver. The restoration was not complete because the former official shilling standard was higher. In 1407, it contained c.1.17g of pure silver. The new ‘good shilling’ most probably referred to an actual average standard of

Abstract Abstract 5114 Introduction: Light chain-induced renal failure (LC-ARF) is a severe complication of MM associated with increased risk of infections, dependency on chronic hemodialysis and shortened survival. Reversibility of renal impairment depends on the degree of renal damage, the duration of renal failure and the quality of response to anti-myeloma therapy. In this phase II trial we assess the efficacy of lenalidomide-dexamethasone in reducing pathogenic light chains and restoring renal function. In addition, we analyze the kinetics of treatment response in patients with LC-ARF. Pa
