Abstract:

Two new spider mite species collected in southern France on the tiny broom Genista pulchella are described. The new species, Bryobia (Lyobia) baroni sp. n. and Tenuipalpoides genistearum sp. n are among the smallest known species belonging to the genera Bryobia (Lyobia) and Tenuipalpoides, respectively. In addition, pictures, corrections on body size measurements and additional morphological data of Tenuipalpoides ziziphus are provided.

The paper summarizes the knowledge on three Vietnamese species of Ericaceae. Craibiodendron yunnanense is newly documented for the flora of Vietnam. The presence of Lyonia villosa in the country is confirmed by specimen citation. We publish a new combination, Vaccinium glaucorubrum, to accommodate the taxon earlier known as Vaccinium gaultheriifolium var. glaucorubrum at species rank. To assess the significance of leaf phenology on leaf-level carbon budget, I measured seasonal changes in daily carbon budget of the upper and lower leaves within a single crown of Lyonia ovalifolia var. elliptica, a subcanopy tree species.
