Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) are evidenced to be effective for a range of physical and psychological health problems for the clinical and non-clinical population. However little is known about engagement in MBIs. The discovery of a solar twin in the open star cluster M67 (Önehag et al. 2011) implies a near-solar chemical composition for the cluster. This study uses high-resolution spectroscopic data of five main-sequence stars in M67 to analyze their abundance of a few key elements and compare results to the solar-twin composition and the composition of field twins (Melendez et al. 2009). This thesis reports the characterisation of a novel outer membrane protein (OMP) from M. catarrhalis, designated M35, with a molecular mass of 36.1 kDa. This protein is structurally homologous to classic Gram-negative porins, such as OMP C from E. coli and OMP K36 from K. pneumoniae, with a predicted structure of 8 surface loops connecting 16 antiparallel -sheets. Abstract:

The open cluster Messier 67 is known to have chemical composition, metallicity and age (~ 4 Gyr) close to the Sun. Therefore, it is advantageous for stellar physical studies and of stellar evolution, in particular for solar like stars within the cluster. This work considers three such stars, the formerly studied solar twin M67-1194 and two more recently suggested solar twins M67-1787 & 2018. Most solar twins show a ratio of volatile to refractory elements that systematically depart from the Sun’s. Our targets do not follow this trend as closely. Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) display extraordinary phenotypic plasticity. This allows them to differentiate or dedifferentiate, depending on environmental cues. The ability to ‘switch’ between a quiescent contractile phenotype to a highly proliferative synthetic state renders VSMCs as primary mediators of vascular repair and remodelling. Le sexe chromosomique est à l'origine de la détermination sexuelle, en activant des voies de signalisation sexe-spécifique. Découvert en 1990, le gène SRY, présent sur le chromosome Y des mâles, est un gène qui a longtemps été décrit comme le régisseur de toute la différenciation sexuelle. En sa présence, les embryons XY se différencient en mâles, mais son absence est suffisante pour induire la différenciation femelle, « par défaut ».

In this work, the efficiency of the LUMBA UVES pipeline for processing of spectroscopic observations is tested by use on 23 high-resolution spectra of the open star cluster M67. An abundance trend discovered by Gavel et al. (2019) concerning iron abundances of giant and sub-giant stars of that cluster is examined. An initial run for a set of ”Gaia FGK benchmark stars”, as described in Blanco-Cuaresma et al. (2014) and Heiter et al. (2015) helps inspect the structure, method and output of the pipeline.
