Le béton armé est connu l’un des matériaux les plus utilisés dans la construction. Néanmoins, après une période de mise en exploitation, il peut se corroder. Les chlorures et la carbonatation sont les principaux facteurs provoquant la corrosion des structures en béton armé. La thèse a pour objectif d’étudier le comportement à la corrosion du béton armé sous l’environnement de carbonatation ou des chlorures, correspondant à l'influence de l’effet de la qualité de l’interface acier/mortier (top-bar effet), du type de ciment ainsi que de la fissure transversale artificielle ou des fissures transversales induites par la charge mécanique.En général, la corrosion induite par la carbonatation est étudiée du point de vue de la corrosion uniforme. Le premier objectif de la thèse est de confirmer l’opinion de la corrosion par macro-cellule ou non uniforme dans la corrosion induite par la carbonatation. Selon les résultats expérimentaux, le taux de corrosion dans les armatures de béton carbonaté est susceptible d'être considéré du point de vue de la corrosion uniforme et macro-cellule, qui est fortement influencée par le rapport cathode/anode. De plus, l'application de CEM III utilisant des laitiers comme addition minérale a montré une réduction efficace de la corrosion non uniforme.La deuxième partie se concentre sur l'influence de l’effet de la qualité de l’interface acier/mortier (top-bar effet) sur le comportement de la corrosion dans le cas d'une corrosion induite par la carbonatation et de la présence d'une fissure induite par la charge mécanique. Le suivi du courant de corrosion par macro-cellule a été utilisée dans les essais expérimentaux. Puis la perte de masse ainsi que la cinétique de corrosion ont été calculée. La corrosion s'est développée principalement au niveau du pré-fissures. En raison de l’effet de la qualité de l’interface acier/mortier, les barres supérieures étaient plus corrodées que les barres inférieures. La valeur du courant de la corrosion mesurée sur les barres supérieures a été observée plus élevée que sur les barres inférieures. La perte de masse de l'acier calculée à partir de la mesure du suivi de courant ne correspond qu'à une petite partie de la perte de masse totale déterminée par la mesure gravimétrique. La corrosion uniforme semble être le phénomène principal.La dernière partie étudie l’effet de la qualité de l’interface acier/mortier (top-bar effet) dans des échantillons de béton fibré avec ou sans fissure artificielle sur la corrosion induite par les chlorures. Les barres supérieures sont plus corrodées que les barres inférieures et la partie supérieure de la barre supérieure présente une corrosion plus élevée que la partie inférieure. En présence de fissures artificielles, le ‘’top-bar effet’’ entraîne la propagation de la corrosion le long de la surface des barres d'acier. La corrosion se développe également le long de la barre supérieure lorsqu'il n'y a pas de fissure artificielle, dans un temps pas si différent du cas d'une fissure artificielle. Cela confirme que l'exposition de la surface supérieure et l’effet de la qualité de l’interface acier/mortier sont très préjudiciables à la corrosion. En comparant le comportement avec un béton sans fibres, il apparaît que l'ajout de fibres dans le béton armé entraîne une augmentation de la résistance à la fissuration induite par la corrosion.Dans chaque partie, les observations expérimentales sont couplées à des simulations numériques pour comparer et démontrer les résultats expérimentaux<br>Reinforced concrete is known one of the most popular materials applied in construction. Nevertheless after a period of time it can be corroded. Chloride and carbonation are the main factors causing to corrosion in reinforced concrete structure. The thesis aimed to study the corrosion behavior of reinforcement concrete under carbonation or chloride environment, corresponding to the influence of top-bar effect, the cement type as well as artificial transverse crack or load-induced cracks.In general carbonation induced corrosion is usually researched from the point of view that it generates uniform corrosion. The first objective of the thesis is to confirm the opinion of macro cell or non-uniform corrosion in carbonated induced corrosion. According to the results of experiments in this part, corrosion rate in carbonated concrete reinforcement is likely to consider from the point of view of both uniform and macro cell corrosion, which is highly influenced by the ratio cathode/anode. In addition the application of CEM III using slag as addictive exhibited reduction of non-uniform corrosion effectively.The second part focuses on the influence of top-bar effect on corrosion behavior in the case carbonation induced corrosion and presence of load induced crack. Macro cell corrosion current monitoring was utilized in the experiment following the loss of mass as well as corrosion kinetic was calculated. Corrosions mainly developed at the position of the pre-cracks. Due to the top-bar effect upper bars were more corroded than bottom bars. Current corrosion value of top bars was observed higher than bottom bars. Loss of steel mass calculated from macro cell current measurement corresponds to only to a small part of the total loss of mass determined by gravimetric measurement. Uniform corrosion appears to be the main phenomena.The last part investigates the effect of top-bar effect in fibers concrete samples with or without artificial crack on chloride induced corrosion. The top steel bars are more corroded than the bottom bars and the upper part of the top bar is recorded higher corrosion than the lower part. In presence of artificial crack the top casting effect results that corrosions spread along the surface of the steel bars. Corrosion also spread along the top bar when there is no artificial crack, in a time not so different from the case of artificial crack. It confirms that top surface exposure and top bar effect are highly prejudicial for corrosion. By comparing the behavior with concrete without fibers, it appears that the addition of fibers in reinforced concrete leads to an increase of resistance to corrosion induced cracking.For each part, experimental observations are coupled with numerical simulations to compare as well as demonstrate the experimental results

Les problèmes majeurs de la génération automatique du dessin des masques des circuits intégrés sont la dépendance vis-à-vis des règles de dessin et le dimensionnement correct des transistors. Les méthodes traditionnelles, telles que l'utilisation de cellules pré-caractérisées, manquent de flexibilité, car les portes des bibliothèques (en nombre limité) sont dessinées et dimensionnées (independarnment de l'application) pour une technologie donnée. Les méthodes de synthèse automatique du dessin des masques ont pour but de surmonter ces problèmes. Les techniques les plus couramment utilisées sont le "gate-matrix" et le "linear-matrix". L'indépendance vis-à-vis des règles de dessin est obtenue en utilisant la technique de description symbolique (dessin sous une grille unitaire), et les dimensions des transistors sont définies par le concepteur ou par un outil de dimensionnement. Nous proposons une méthode et un prototype logiciel pour la synthèse automatique des masques, en utilisant le style "linear-matrix multi-bander". La description d'entree du générateur est un fichier format SPICE (au niveau transistor), ce qui permet d'avoir un nombre très élevé de cellules, en particulier les portes complexes (A01), et ainsi avoir une meilleure optimisation lors de la phase d'assignation technologique. Les macro-cellules générées doivent être assemblées afin de réaliser un circuit complet. Deux contraintes supplémentaires sont ainsi imposées au générateur: malléabilité de la forme et position des broches d'entrées/sorties sur la périphérie de la macro-cellule. Les macro-cellules sont assemblées en utilisant un environnement de conception industriel. Les contributions de ce mémoire de doctorat sont d'une part le développement d'un générateur de macro-cellules flexible ayant les caracteristiques d'indépendance aux règles de dessin et d'intégration dans un environnement de macro-cellules, et d'autre part l'étude detailée des paramètres qui déterminent la surface occupée, les performances électriques et la puissance dissipée des macro-cellules générées automatiquement.<br>The main problems of the automatic layout synthesis are the design rules dependence and the transistor sizing. The traditional layout synthesis methods, like standard-cells, are not flexible, since the cells in the libraries are designed and sized for a specific technology. In this way, the designer must change his library at each technology improvement. The automatic layout synthesis methods overcomes these problems (design rules dependence and transistor sizing). Examples of layout styles are gate-matrix and linear-matrix. The technology independence is achieved by symbolic description (layout under an unitary grid), and the transistor sizes are defined by the designer or by a sizing tool. From these two constraints, we develop an automatic layout synthesis tool, using a linear-matrix multi-row layout style. The input description for our tool is a Spice file. This descriptions allows to define a greater number of cells (mainly AOIs gates), resulting a technology mapping with less constraints. The generated macro-cells must be assembled in order to construct a complete circuit. Two additional constraints are then imposed to the generator : variable aspect ratio and placement of the inputs/outputs pins in the macro-cell border. The macro-cells are assembled by an industrial CAD environment. The main contributions of this thesis are the development of a macro-cell generator (with the characteristics of technology independence and easy integration in a macro-cell environment) and the analysis of the parameters playing a role in the area, delay and power consumption.

Les methodes traditionnelles, telles que l'utilisation de cellules pre-caracterisees, manquent de flexibilite, car les portes des bibliotheques (en nombre limite) sont dessinees et dimensionnees pour une technologie donnee. Les methodes de synthese automatique du dessin des masques ont pour but de surmonter ces problemes. The structure of a polymeric material has a great influence in many fundamental scientific areas as well as in more applied science, since it affects the diffusion, permeability, mechanical strength, elasticity, and colloidal properties of the materials. The results in this thesis demonstrate that it is possible to fabricate solid and hollow cellulose spheres with a cellulose shell and encapsulated gas, liquid or solid particles and with a sphere size ranging from a few hundreds of nanometres to several millimetres, all with a tailored design and purpose. The sizes of the different spheres have been controlled by three different preparation methods: large cellulose macrospheres by a solution solidification procedure, hollow micrometre-sized cellulose spheres by a liquid flow-focusing technique in microchannels, and nanometre-sized cellulose spheres by a membrane emulsification technique.  The spheres were then modified in different ways in order to functionalize them into more advanced materials. This thesis demonstrates how to control the cellulose sphere dimensions and the wall-to-void volume ratio, the elasticity and the functionality of the spheres as such, where they were prepared to be pH-responsive, surface specific and X-ray active. These modifications are interesting in several different types of final materials such as packaging materials, drug release devices or advanced in vivo diagnostic applications. In the more fundamental science approach, surface-smooth solid cellulose spheres were prepared for characterization of the macroscopic work of adhesion when a cellulose surface is separated from another material. Using these ultra-smooth macroscopic cellulose probes, it is possible to measure the compatibility and the surface interactions between cellulose and other materials which provide an important tool for incorporating cellulose into different composite materials.<br><p>QC 20140829</p>

Mobile penetration rates have already exceeded 100% in many countries. Nowadays, mobile phones are part of our daily lives not only for voice or short text messages but for a plethora of multimedia services they provide via their internet connection. Thus, mobile broadband has become the main driver for the evolution of mobile networks and it is estimated that until 2018 the mobile broadband traffic will exceed the level of 15 exabytes. This estimation is a threat to the current mobile networks which have to significantly improve their capacity performance. Furthermore, another important aspect is the fact that 80% of the mobile broadband demand comes from indoor environments which add to the signal propagation the burden of building penetration loss. Keeping these facts in mind, there are many potential solutions that can solve the problem of the increasing indoor mobile broadband demand. In general, there are two approaches; improve the existing macro-cellular networks by for example enhancing them with carrier aggregation or enter the buildings and deploy small cell solutions such as femtocells or WiFi APs. Both the academia and the industry have already shown interest in these two approaches demonstrating the importance of the problem. Various research papers and reports have been produced describing the technologies and presenting their capability to satisfy the perpetual increase in mobile broadband demand. However, according to the best of our knowledge, no research has been done so far that compares the two different approaches with a techno-economic perspective. Hence, the contribution of this thesis project is a holistic techno-economic study of the two approaches (macrocells with carrier aggregation and small cells) to encounter the tremendous growth of indoor mobile broadband demand. In order to achieve this goal, an indoor deployment scenario is presented and the different indoor and outdoor solutions are applied and studied in terms of radio performance (capacity) as well as total cost of ownership. The final result of the project is a comparison of the two approaches as well as a proposed strategy to deal with the problem. The result will help network operators to plan the evolution of their networks, vendors to focus their production as well as regulatory bodies to set the rules and supervise operators’ deployments. The simulations have shown that all the examined technologies are capable of supporting the mobile broadband demand of the studied scenario but macrocells enhanced with carrier aggregation is the most cost effective solution. However, if the requirements for guaranteed data rate and thus the QoS provided increase then eventually MNOs will have to abandon outdoor solutions and extend their infrastructure inside the buildings where the mobile data traffic is mainly generated.<br>Graden av mobilpenetration har redan nått över 100% i många länder. Nuförtiden är mobiltelefoner en del av vårt dagliga liv inte bara för röstsamtal eller korta textmeddelanden men också för en lång rad multimediatjänster som de tillhandahåller via sin Internetuppkoppling. På grund av detta har mobilt bredband blivit den huvudsakliga drivkraften för utvecklingen av mobila nätverk och det uppskattas att fram till 2018 kommer den mobila bredbandstrafiken överstiga 15 exabyte. Denna uppskattning är ett hot mot de nuvarande mobila nätverken som måste öka sin kapacitet avsevärt. Utöver det är en annan viktig aspekt det faktum att 80% av efterfrågan på mobilt bredband kommer från inomhusmiljöer vilket ger spridningen av radiosignaler problem med minskad penetrationsförmåga orsakad av byggnaden. Med hänsyn till dessa faktorer finns det många potentiella lösningar som kan åtgärda problemet med den ökande efterfrågan på bredband i inomhusmiljöer. Generellt sett finns två tillvägagångssätt; förbättra de existerande makrocells-baserade nätverken exempelvis genom att förstärka dem med carrier aggregation alternativt att i byggnader installera lösningar baserade på små celler som femtoceller eller WiFi-accesspunkter. Både den akademiska världen och industrin har redan visat intresse för dessa två tillvägagångssätt vilket visar att detta är ett viktigt problem. Ett antal forskningsartiklar och rapporter har producerats vilka beskriver teknologierna och deras förmåga att tillfredställa den ständigt ökande efterfrågan på mobilt bredband. Med det sagt, enligt vår kunskap i dagsläget har dock ingen forskning hittills utförts som jämför dessa två tillvägagångssätt från ett teknoekonomiskt perspektiv. Följaktligen är det bidrag denna uppsats ger en holistisk teknoekonomisk studie av de två metoderna (makroceller med carrier aggregation och lösningar baserade på små celler) för att möta den mycket stora ökningen av efterfrågan på mobilt bredband inomhus. För att uppnå detta mål presenteras ett scenario med installation i inomhusmiljö och de olika lösningarna för inomhus- och utomhusmiljöer appliceras och studeras med hänsyn till radioprestanda (kapacitet) och även total ägandekostnad. Projektets slutgiltiga resultat är en jämförelse mellan de två metoderna och ett förslag på en strategi som kommer hjälpa nätverksoperatörer att planera utvecklingen av sina nätverk, leverantörer att fokusera sin tillverkning och tillsynsmyndigheter att upprätta regler samt övervaka att dessa efterföljs. Simuleringarna har visat att alla de granskade teknikerna klarar av att uppfylla efterfrågan på mobilt bredband i de studerade scenariona men att makroceller med carrier aggregation är den mest kostnadseffektiva lösningen. Men om kraven på garanterad datahastighet, och med det den QoS som tillhandahålls, ökar så kommer MNOs till slut att behöva överge utomhuslösningar och utöka deras infrastruktur inuti byggnader där den mobila datatrafiken i huvudsak genereras.

Non-spherical particles are present all around us, in biological, industrial and environmental processes. Making predictions of their impact on us and systems in our vicinity can make life better for everyone here on earth. For example, the ash particles from a volcano eruption are non-spherical and their spreading in the atmosphere can hugely impact the air traffic, as was also proven in 2010. Furthermore, the orientation of the wood fibres in a paper sheet influences the final properties of the paper, and the cause of a specific fibre orientation can be traced back to the fluid flows during the manufacturing process of the paper. In this thesis, experimental and numerical work is presented with the goal to understand and utilize the behavior of elongated particles in fluid flows. Two different experimental setups are used. The first one, a turbulent half channel flow, aims at increasing the understanding of how particles with non-zero inertia behave in turbulence. The second setup is an attempt to design a flow field with the purpose to align nanofibrils and create high performance cellulose filaments. Experiments were performed in a turbulent half channel flow at different flow set- tings with dilute suspensions of cellulose acetate fibres having three different aspect ratios (length to width ratio). The two main results were firstly that the fibres agglom- erated in streamwise streaks, believed to be due to the turbulent velocity structures in the flow. Secondly, the orientation of the fibres was observed to be determined by the aspect ratio and the mean shear, not the turbulence. Short fibres were oriented in the spanwise direction while long fibres were oriented in the streamwise direction. In order to utilize the impressive properties (stiffness comparable to Kevlar) of the cellulose nanofibril in a macroscopic material, the alignment of the fibrils must be controlled. Here, a flow focusing device (resulting in an extensional flow), designed to align the fibrils, is used to create a cellulose filament with aligned fibrils. The principle is based on a separation of the alignment and the assembly of the fibrils, i.e. first align the fibrils and then lock the aligned structure. With this process, continuous filaments were created, with properties similar to that of the wood fibre at the same fibril alignment. However, the highest alignment (lowest angle) of the fibrils in a filament created was only 31o from the filament axis, and the next step is to increase the alignment. This thesis includes modeling of the alignment process with the Smoluchowski equation and a rotary diffusion. Finding a model that correctly describes the alignment process should in the end make it possible to create a filament with fully aligned fibrils.<br><p>QC 20140908</p>

Le développement de la biologie cellulaire nécessite la mise en place de moyens de micromanipulation de cellules en laboratoire. Les cellules biologiques étant de taille microscopique, l'étude de leur manipulation relève de la microrobotique et plus particulièrement de la micromanipulation. Les travaux de thèse présentés ici ont abouti à la mise au point d'un dispositif permettant de pousser des cellules contenues dans un milieu aqueux sur une lamelle de verre. Le pousseur de cellules est un élément ferromagnétique microscopique qui suit le déplacement d'un aimant permanent situé sous la lamelle de verre. Les pousseurs utilisés sont construits à base de nickel électroformé et possèdent des tailles allant de 10x10x5 µm à 400x400x20 µm. Cette thèse présente un modèle complet de la transmission de mouvement de l'aimant vers le pousseur. La poussée d'un objet peut s'effectuer de deux façons différentes : soit en faisant tourner le pousseur autour de son point de contact (rotation), soit en déplaçant le pousseur en translation. La rotation permet de déplacer un objet avec une précision inférieure à 1 µm sur une course réduite, alors que la translation permet de déplacer un objet avec une précision de l'ordre de 5 à 20 microns sur une course infinie. Nous proposons dans cette thèse une commande micro-macro spécifique permettant de déplacer un objet avec une bonne précision sur une course infinie. Nous avons également construit un estimateur de l'effort appliqué par le pousseur sur l'objet manipulé. Cet estimateur est basé sur la mesure de la position relative du pousseur par rapport à l'aimant. Un grand nombre d'expérimentations ont été mises en place grâce à notre dispositif, dont la manipulation de billes de polystyrène de 50 microns de diamètre et la manipulation d'ovules de 150 microns de diamètre.

La préservation de l’environnement et des ressources naturelles pour les prochaines générations est aujourd’hui considérée comme un des axes les plus prioritaires dans presque tous les secteurs économiques. Le secteur des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication est loin d’être épargné de cette tendance écologique. Nous considérons dans cette thèse la problématique de la conservation d’énergie dans le contexte technologique actuel caractérisé par: • La coexistence d’une multitude de technologies d’accès sans fil offrant un environnement riche et dynamique • Des terminaux mobiles multimodaux • Limitations persistantes des sources d’énergie sur les terminaux mobiles. Dans ce contexte très riche, les possibilités offertes aux usagers sont à double tranchant. D’un côté, elles peuvent très bien améliorer la QoS en offrant toujours la meilleure connectivité en fonction du contexte de l’utilisateur. D’un autre côté, et sans une bonne optimisation de la consommation d’énergie sur le terminal, la disponibilité de celui-ci peut vite diminuer et donc faire baisser la QoE à cause de l’énergie nécessaire pour gérer plusieurs interfaces radio en parallèle. Nous considérons essentiellement les liens entre les stations de base (ou les point d’accès) et les terminaux mobiles. Notre objectif étant d’analyser la consommation d’énergie sur ces liens pour ensuite proposer des contributions permettant de mieux la maitriser. Nous focalisons essentiellement sur l’exploitation des multiples interfaces et du multi-flux pour étudier, analyser et proposer des solutions dynamiques et adaptatives d’ordonnancement, de sélection et de gestion d’interfaces minimisant la consommation d’énergie<br>Since the last decades, environmental issues are becoming among the major concerns for most human activities, including the Information and Communication Technologies sector. This will surely influence upcoming networking technologies, architectures and usage practices. New approaches and methodologies are required in order to evaluate and to reduce the Carbon Footprint toward what is commonly denoted as Green Networks. Within the ICT sector, the main efforts are related to energy saving techniques. These efforts started in early stages within wireless technologies, mainly because of energy limitations on mobile devices such as mobile phones and wireless sensors. Additionally, because of health considerations, standardization bodies and government had set stringent policies and limits on electromagnetic radiation levels that can be emitted by radio stations. For these reasons, many academic and industrial research and development activities had led to a number of relatively energy efficient solutions. In this thesis, we consider energy efficiency in the context of Heterogeneous Wireless Access Networks. These are composed of multi-standards wireless network solutions, with non uniform topologies and cell sizes and Multi-Modal mobile terminals able to manage simultaneously different connections. The main contributions of our studies include the proposal of new optimization solutions regarding user association and scheduling techniques at both flow and packet levels for multi-homed mobile terminals. An overall context-based solution is also proposed in order to provide end-to-end energy efficient networking solutions

For these reasons, many academic and industrial research and development activities had led to a number of relatively energy efficient solutions. In this thesis, we consider energy efficiency in the context of Heterogeneous Wireless Access Networks. These are composed of multi-standards wireless network solutions, with non uniform topologies and cell sizes and Multi-Modal mobile terminals able to manage simultaneously different connections. The main contributions of our studies include the proposal of new optimization solutions regarding user association and scheduling techniques at both flow and packet levels for multi-homed mobile terminals. An overall context-based solution is also proposed in order to provide end-to-end energy efficient networking solutions

"L’industrie nano repousse constamment les limites de la miniaturisation. Pour les systèmes CMOS à mémoires non-volatiles, des phénomènes qui étaient négligeables autrefois sont à présent incontournables et nécessitent des modèles de plus en plus complexes pour décrire, analyser et prédire le comportement électrique de ces dispositifs.Le but de cette thèse est de répondre aux besoins de l’industriel, afin d’optimiser au mieux les performances des produits avant et après les étapes de production. Cette étude propose des solutions, comme des méthodes de test innovantes pour des technologies telles que les mémoires non-volatiles EEPROM embarquées.La première méthode proposée, consiste à extraire la densité de pièges (NiT) générée, au cours du cyclage, dans l’oxyde tunnel de cellules EEPROM, à partir d’une Macro cellule de test reprenant toutes les caractéristiques d’un produit fini. Les résultats expérimentaux sont ensuite injectés dans un modèle analytique décrivant le phénomène de SILC (Stress Induced Leakage Current) qui est le principal effet issu de ces pièges. La densité de pièges en fonction du nombre de cycles est ensuite extraite par interpolation entre les courbes expérimentales et les courbes simulées par le modèleLa seconde méthode propose une étude de corrélation statistique entre le test traditionnel de mise en rétention et le test de stress électrique aux bornes de l’oxyde tunnel, proposant des temps d’exécution bien plus courts. Cette étude se base sur les populations de cellules défaillantes à l’issue des deux tests. C’est en comparant les distributions sur ces populations qu’une loi de corrélation apparaît sur la tendance comportementale des cellules."<br>The nano industry constantly extends the size limits, especially for CMOS devices with embedded non-volatile memories. Each size reduction step always induces new challenges caused by phenomenon which were previously negligible. As a result, more complex models are required to describe, analyze and predict as well as possible the electrical behaviors. The main goal of this thesis is to propose solutions to the industry in term of test, to optimize the performances before and after the whole process steps. Thus, this study proposes two innovative methodologies dedicated to embedded non-volatile EEPROM memories based devices.The first of them consists in to extract the post-cycling generated tunnel oxide traps density (NiT), directly from a macro cell. The experimental results are then used to be compared with an analytical model calculation which perfectly describes the Stress Induced Current phenomena (SILC). This electrical current directly comes from the generated traps inside the cells tunnel oxide. An interpolation is then done between the model and the experimental resulting curves, to extract the tunnel oxide traps density.The second study proposes a method of statistical correlation between the traditional retention test and testing of electrical stress across the tunnel oxide which has shorter execution time. This study is based on cell populations after failing both tests. By comparing the distributions of these populations a correlation law appears between the cells behavioral tendencies. Following this study the replacement of long retention tests by shorter electrical stress tests may be considered

碩士<br>國立交通大學<br>電機學院碩士在職專班電信組<br>98<br>In the future orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) cellular network, base station will adopt multi-input multi-output (MIMO) techniques to improve throughput and link reliability for mobile stations. When the base station using spatial multiplexing (SM) in the downlink case, the throughput of mobile station can be hugely increased nearby the serving base station. However, the total transmit power is split uniformly across the transmit antennas, the signal to interference-and-noise ratio (SINR) degreases with the increasing number of transmit antennas. Additionally, the capacity will seriously decrease at the cell boundary. Thus, SM will reduce the cell coverage in this kind of MIMO OFDM system, the telecommunications operators need to set up more base stations for covering the service areas. This will raise the base station equipment cost of the operators and increase the handover frequency. In real environment, spatial correlation exists at base station or mobile station due to insufficient antenna separation and the lack of scatter effect. The performance of SM degreases seriously with non-trivial spatial correlation among the transmit antennas, therefore, it becomes a more difficult task to overcome the problem of cell coverage reduced by SM. In this thesis, we introduce two kinds of macro-diversity combining techniques for spatial multiplexing based MIMO OFDM cellular networks to increase cell boundary throughput and improve soft handover performance. The one is space-frequency block code macro-diversity combining spatial multiplexing scheme. The other is cyclic delay macro-diversity combining spatial multiplexing scheme. Applying transmit diversity at adjacent base station sides and using SM of each base station, we can take both advantages of spatial multiplexing and spatial diversity without increasing the number of transmit antennas or base stations. When a mobile station moves near the cell boundary, the adjacent base stations transmit the same data encoded by SFBC or CDD at the same frequency. At the receiver of the mobile station can perform diversity combining to get the macro-diversity gain, thereby improving throughput and the handover performance. Because of lower complexity and compatibility to existing wireless communication systems, we conclude that adopting the CDD macro-diversity combining with SM scheme is a preferable scheme to improve the poor throughput of mobile stations near the cell boundary. These two macro-diversity combining schemes can provide a high throughput improvement of mobile station at the cell area in low spatially-correlated channels. As transmit antenna spatial correlation is equal to 0.1, SFBC macro-diversity combining with SM scheme can improve 2 bit/s/Hz more than the conventional SM scheme. As transmit spatial correlation is equal to 0.9, it can still improve 0.5 bit/s/Hz higher than the conventional SM scheme. As transmit antenna spatial correlation is equal to 0.1, CDD macro-diversity combining with SM scheme can improve 1 bit/s/Hz higher than the conventional SM scheme. As transmit spatial correlation is equal to 0.9, it can also improve 0.5 bit/s/Hz more than the conventional SM scheme. With spatial correlation increased at each transmitters of each base station, they also can provide higher throughput than the conventional SM scheme. The variations of throughputs between CDD macro-diversity combining with SM scheme and SFBC macro-diversity combining with SM scheme are getting small at the cell boundary.

Handoff is an essential part of any Mobile Communication Network. Efficient handoff algorithms provide cost-effective way for enhancing the capacity and QOS of cellular system. The work reported here in presents multi-criteria based hard handoff algorithm for micro and macro-cellular architecture. Fuzzy technique has been used as optimization engine. The fuzzy handoff algorithm based on Received Signal Strength (RSS), absolute threshold value, hysteresis level, slope ratios and speed of Mobile Terminal (MT) have been previously developed for conventional cellular networks. In this work the handoff algorithm has been improved by considering two new parameter, signalling delay and angle of motion of MT along with velocity as our input criteria. Two fuzzy models named Mamdani and Sugeno have been used for processing the input criteria. Further, ANFIS has also been used to tune the Sugeno model for parameter adjustment. The proposed fuzzy inference scheme uses triangular and trapezoidal membership function for fuzzification. The types of defuzzification method used are centriod and weighted average formula for Mamdani and Sugeno model respectively. Extensive simulation analysis has been used to validate the proposed technique. The results show that fuzzy is a viable option for handoff.

碩士<br>國立交通大學<br>運輸與物流管理學系<br>105<br>The macroscopic traffic flow models which account for the flow rate, density or speed of groups of vehicles on the roads, are advantageous to its high efficiency. On the contrary, the microscopic traffic flow models deal with the stimulation terms to spacing or relative speed between individual vehicles and respond to its acceleration or deceleration. The advantage of them lie in describing detailed vehicle behaviors and high accuracy. Therefore, it is necessary to be confronted with a trade-off between efficiency and accuracy when conducting mixed traffic flow models simulation. This study takes the prevailing mixed traffic of cars and motorcycles on urban streets as the background. Firstly, based on the mixed traffic cell transmission models (MCTM), proposed by C.W. Hsieh (2010), to simulate platoons of vehicles with traffic flow transference within segment cells to reduce simulation time. Secondly, based on the cellular automaton and microscopic lane changing principles in mixed traffic, proposed by Lan et al.(2009、2010), to simulate platoons of vehicles with parallel driving and lane changing behaviors in close proximity to the intersection. In order to make these two models stated above integrate properly, this study develops a macro-micro traffic flow models with a transmission interface design, which combines advantages over both models and takes characteristics of mixed traffic into consideration. Moreover, real data of mixed traffic on urban streets is collected. To obtain all the vehicle trajectories in the experimental segment and calculate numbers of vehicles in each cell at each time step through analyzing them. The proposed model in different scenarios is assumed and divided into seven kinds of macro-micro proportions. The efficiency index is measured by CPU time and accuracy index is by SMAPE values to validate the proposed model. This study puts emphasis on the simulation effectiveness of interfaces in different positions of the segment and tries to find out the best one. The results demonstrate that the macroscopic traffic flow models is conductive to reduce the simulation time and improve efficiency. The microscopic traffic flow models make for accuracy. Under a balanced of efficiency and accuracy, the best position of the interface measured by simulation effectiveness is thirty to sixty meters apart from the intersection. It is supposed to transfer the model from macroscopic to microscopic before the traffic flow is interrupted.

Aujourd'hui, les macro-cellules ASIC dédiées au traitement du signal deviennent de plus en plus complexes, coûteuses en temps et efforts de conception. Ces macro-cellules seront ensuite assemblées avec d'autres composants IPs (e.g. processeurs, mémoires, média de communication, etc.) pour être intégrées dans un Système-sur-Puce (SoC, pour System-On-Chip). Les procédés de conception deviennent insuffisants pour conserver la maîtrise de la complexité (d'un point de vue aussi bien algorithmique qu'architectural) des nouvelles applications tout en respectant le temps de mise sur le marché. <br />Cette thèse est consacrée au problème de conception et de validation des macro-cellules ASIC dédiées au traitement du signal. Nous étudions et nous illustrons les possibilités d'une nouvelle méthodologie comme une alternative à la synthèse de haut niveau. Cette méthodologie se base sur l'assemblage de composants élémentaires (IPs) paramétrables et préconçus. Elle part d'une description fonctionnelle de l'application et produit le modèle RTL de l'architecture finale. Le principal problème d'une méthodologie de conception basée sur l'assemblage de composants IPs préconçus et pré-validés est que le modèle RTL de l'architecture finale peut avoir un comportement défectueux. Cela est dû à des retards induits par des contraintes d'implémentation. Nous présentons la formalisation de ce problème et proposons une méthode automatique de correction (dite correction de retard) pour le résoudre. Nous proposons deux algorithmes originaux qui garantissent des solutions optimales en latence et en surface. La faisabilité de l'approche et l'optimalité des solutions proposées sont démontrées mathématiquement. Des outils ont été développés pour transformer cette méthodologie en un flot semi-automatique. Nous illustrons l'efficacité de l'approche par l'expérimentation sur un exemple industriel : une chaîne de modulation numérique.
