Abstract:
This thesis examines the magnetic field and magnetic flow at the end of the stator synchronous machine. This problem is solid using nonlinear magnetic resistive network, which is simulating by PSpice software. A simple model of stator, consisting of stator plates, air gaps and the two-thumbs, which hold the stator together. All of this is replace magnetic nonlinear resistive network, which is then divided into elements. According to these element is a simplified model solid and analyzed.

Abstract:
The thesis deals with magnetic force microscopy of soft magnetic nanostructures, mainly NiFe nanowires and thin-film elements such as discs. The thesis covers almost all aspects related to this technique - i.e. from preparation of magnetic probes and magnetic nanowires, through the measurement itself to micromagnetic simulations of the investigated samples. We observed the cores of magnetic vortices, tiny objects, both with commercial and our home-coated probes. Even domain walls in nanowires 50 nm in diameter were captured with this technique. We prepared functional probes with various magnetic coatings: hard magnetic Co, CoCr and soft NiFe. Hard probes give better signal, whereas the soft ones are more suitable for the measurement of soft magnetic structures as they do not influence significantly the imaged sample. Our probes are at least comparable with the standard commercial probes. The simulations are in most cases in a good agreement with the measurement and the theory. Further, we present our preliminary results of the probe-sample interaction modelling, which can be exploited for the simulation of magnetic force microscopy image even in the case of probe induced perturbations of the sample.

Abstract:
This work deals with simple fluxmeter which is able, together with other device, to show hysteresis loop. Hysteresis loop is a graphic expression of dependence of magnetic induction on intensity of magnetic field. Oscilloscope is used to display the hysteresis loop. This device is fully sufficient for the display. The measured objects are solenoids from various kinds of materials with the same shape. The main aim of this work is the design, realization and description of the fluxmeter. The fluxmeter consists of several partial blocks. The first one, on which this work is focused, is signal generator which is able to generace different kinds of signal. The generated signal comes on primary winding of solenoid where a magnetic field on a given intensity rises. An amplifier is used to obtain the sufficient intensity. Next thing this work is focused on is the design of the integrator which is necessary for the correct function of the fluxmeter. As suggested, there is shown the block diagram of linking of individual parts. There are described the measured results at the end of this work.

The main goal of this thesis is a determination of an idle stray losses in induction machine and creation calculation program in MATLAB. The stray losses are caused especially by the eddy currents on the surface of stator and rotor, further by a pulsation of these currents owing to the periodical change of air-gap permeance, magnetic induction in stator and rotor teeth and a differential leakage. Value of stray losses are different of engine construction especially by it are scoring insulated, uninsulated, straight or slant.

Abstract:
This dissertation thesis deals with the computational modelling of the dynamic response of the rotating electrical machine structure on the application of the magnetic forces. Apart from the dynamic response of the ideal symmetrical machine, the influence of the air gap eccentricity on the dynamics response is studied in this work. A basic type of the air gap eccentricity, which is caused by eccentric mounting of the rotor pack on the shaft of the rotor, is considered. The calculations the dependence of the magnetic forces on the time and a misalignment of the rotor pack are performed as first. The computational model of the magnetic field of the rotating electrical machine, which is based on solution of the electromagnetic coupled field analysis by finite element method, is used for this purpose. An analysis of the influence of the unbalanced magnetic pull and the stiffness of some parts of the machine on the modal properties of the machine is performed in the second part of this thesis. A third part of this thesis is focused on the calculation of the dynamic response of the machine during the steady state operation of the machine and the influence of the rotor pack misalignment on the dynamic response is studied. The obtained results showed that the tangential components of the magnetic forces, which act on the stator pack, excite significant torsional vibration of the stator. Besides the vibration of the stator of the machine, the influence of the rotor pack misalignment on the sound power of the machine, vibration of the rotor, loads of rotor bearings and air gap eccentricity is studied in this thesis.

This thesis focuses on problematics of BLDC motors. Thesis consist of theoretical and practical part. In introduction is the reader acquaint with problematics, principals of development, advantages and disadvantades of BLDC motors. Then folows a description of different types, their realization and construction. Main part of this thesis deals with segment stator. For this type of magnetic circuit was developed computing software. This software will design and provide calculation of motor due to given parameters. In second step, the program generates source code for FEMM software, which provides a simulation. This is the most effective way, how can designer simply verify his calculations

Abstract:
The thesis has been focused on micro method for isolation of PCR- ready DNA iusing magnetic particles from cereal products. Cereal biscuits and cereal products for babies were selected for the analysis. These were homogenized using plastic copist in lysis buffer with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The homogenates were purified using chloroform- octanol mixture. The effect of isopropanol in the preparation of homogenates was tested, too. Homogenates were used for DNA isolation by magnetic particles. Two ways to isolate magnetic particles with bounded DNA (magnetic separator and magnetic needle have been tested. Isolated DNA was analyzed spectrophotometrically its concentration and purity were assessed. . After that, amplification of the DNA was tested in PCR. Two sets of primers specific for plant ribosomal DNA were used for their amplification. PCR products of expected length 700 bp and 220 bp were detected by agarose gel electrophoresis. It was shown that DNA isolated from seeds and cereal products using magnetic particles was in PCR-ready quality.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis is concerned with switching of vortex circulation in magnetic nanodisks. The results of micromagnetic simulations of hysteresis loops of individual disks with different degrees of asymmetry are presented. The influence of geometric asymmetry of the disk on the shape of the hysteresis loop is discussed as well as switching of vortex circulation in asymmetric nanodisks by external in-plane magnetic field. Simulations of pairs of magnetostatically coupled nanodisks were carried out for different interdisk distances and degrees of asymmetry. By analysing the results of the simulations, the effects of magnetostatic coupling and the asymmetry on resultant circulation of individual vortices were compared and the range of magnetostatic interaction between nanodisks of given dimensions and asymmetry was estimated. Experimental techniques used for fabrication and measurement of the samples are briefly summarized.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the switching of spin vortices in magnetic nanodisks. First, the basic concepts of (micro)magnetism are defined and existing theoretical and experimental achievements in the field of switching of the two basic characteristics (chirality and polarity) of magnetic vortex are summarized. Then the principle of dynamic switching of magnetic vortex chirality using in-plane magnetic field pulse with a well defined amplitude and duration is presented. There is no need to use a certain shape of nanodisks or asymmetry in magnetic field distribution. Nanostructures were prepared by the multi-step electron beam lithography and ion beam sputtering. Individual steps of sample preparation and optimization for the magnetization dynamics measurements are described. Finally, the experimental measurements of the dynamic switching of chirality on prepared samples obtained by transmission x-ray microscopy at the synchrotron Advanced Light Source at Berkeley, USA are presented and discussed.

Abstract:
With the aim to develop and characterize a functionalized highly magnetic polymer carrier of micrometer size and of a narrow particle size distribution that will be suitable for biological application, hypercrosslinked microspheres were prepared. Simultaneously, the relation between structure and properties of product was observed. Condition of dispersion polymerization were optimized to obtain starting monodisperse poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene) [P(St-DVB)] microspheres. The P(St-DVB) microspheres of different degree of crosslinking were prepared and effect of some polymerization parameters such as type of solvent, initiator, concentration and mode of DVB addition on morphology, size and particle size distribution were investigated. The starting microspheres were hypercrosslinked to obtain microporous inner structure. Hyperosslinked particles had very large specific surface area (> 1000 m2/g) and a high content of micropores (ca. 0.6 ml/g). First, P(St-DVB) microspheres were chloromethylated using three different chloromethylation agents to regulate their porous properties. Hypercrosslinking was achieved by the addition of stannic chloride as a catalyst and by increasing a temperature. The hypercrosslinked microspheres were then functionalized with sulfo- or aminogroups. The functional groups captured precipitated iron oxide inside the porous structure of the microspheres and also served as a reactive site for intended immobilization of the protein. A solution of ferrous and ferric chloride was imbibed under vacuum into the porous structure and the iron oxide was precipitated by an aqueous ammonia solution. Finally, the magnetic functionalized hypercrosslinked micropsheres were integrated into a biosensor for qualitative detection of ovalbumin.

An important part is the description of the principles controlling and stabilization of the small experimental CubeSat type satellites. The main point is the proposition and construction of the laboratory model of the CubeSat type satellite that should simulate the chosen methods of controlling and stabilization in laboratory conditions. The thesis describes the construction of the electronic parts of the model, the controlling software of the satellite’s processor and user software for easy controlling by PC.

Magnetické vortexy jsou charakterizovány směrem stáčení magnetizace a polarizací vortexového jádra, přičemž každá z těchto veličin nabývá dvojice stavů. Ve výsledku jsou tak k dispozici čtyři možné stabilní konfigurace, čehož může být využito v multibitových paměťových zařízeních. Tato dizertační práce se zabývá selektivním zápisem stavů magnetického vortexu v magnetickém disku pulzem elektrického proudu stejně jako jejich následným elektrickým čtením. Před samotnou realizací elektrických měření byla provedena statická měření přepínání stavů vortexu pomocí různých proudových pulzů v kombinaci s technikami MFM a následně MTXM. Následně byl realizován dynamický odečet stavu vortexu kompletně založený na elektrických měřeních. Ovládání cirkulace vortexu je založeno na geometrické asymetrii vytvořené oříznutím magnetického disku a vytvořením fazety. Plochý okraj disku definuje preferenční smysl stáčení cirkulace během procesu nukleace vortexu. Řízení polarity se obvykle provádí ve dvou krocích. V prvním kroku, homogenně magnetizovaná vrstva s kolmou magnetickou anizotropií umístěná na dně disku definuje výchozí polaritu vortexu v době nukleace. V druhém kroku, je-li to nutné, je polarita vortexu přepnuta pomocí rychlého proudového pulzu. Proto je možné nastavit požadovaný stav cirkulace vysláním nanosekundového pulsu s nízkou amplitudou, následované nastavením polarity pikosekundovým pulsem s vysokou amplitudou. Stavy vortexů jsou pak detekovány elektrickou spektroskopií prostřednictvím anizotropní magnetorezistence. Vzorky pro všechna statická a dynamická měření byly připraveny pomocí elektronové litografie v kombinaci s lift-off procesem.

The thesis "Art of Magnetic Tape Music" is dedicated to the genesis of the art of music magnetic tape and its effects on the development of modern music. Through a detailed survey of texts dealing with related issues and preserved audio recordings from around the world, the work seeks to map the importance of magnetic carriers, which inherently has helped the creation of electroacoustic music and also development of pop music. Special emphasis is placed on the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century, when the methods of audio recordings manipulation were developing rapidly and were used for compositional practice which at that time was experiencing numerous innovations and technological development. Described is a generally accepted typology, methodology used and the specific design of equipment needed for sound work with a magnetic medium. Marginal survival technique for the magnetic tape manipulation in the global audio digitization at the turn of the millennium is also taken into account.

This thesis is focused on design of piezoelectric energy harvester with additional nonlinear stiffness. Linear generator has very narrow resonance frequency bandwidth. It makes the resonance mechanism very sensitive to tuning up of the resonance frequency and it can be tuned only for one narrow vibration peak. The main idea for using of the vibration energy harvester with nonlinear stiffness is to make resonance frequency bandwidth wider, so the generator will be useable for more excitation frequencies. In this thesis is used generator Midé V21BL and additional nonlinear stiffness is realized with permanent magnets.

K modelovaniu sme si zvolili 3 fázový synchronný stroj s permanentnými magnetmi na povrchu rotora z firmy VUES. Najprv vypočítame parametre stroja a potom spravíme statický model pomocou programu FEMM a Matlab a budeme hladať možné riešenia na 2D dynamický model. Pomocou programu Ansys Workbench spravíme 3D model tohoto stroja budeme a porovnávať výsledky simulácie.

Abstract:
This master’s thesis first deals with the theory concerning induction motor. It briefly desbribes the construction of three-phase induction motors, the generation of tractive force, power flow with loss distribution and also torque characteristic. In the next part an analytical calculation of the parameters of equivalent circuit for an existing induction motor with known dimensions is performed. After the calculation it is possible to find out the rated parameters of the motor, which makes it possible to further compare results with the values obtained by other methods. The next step was to create a model of the motor in RMxprt program, which is later also translated to ANSYS Maxwell 2D model. Simulations were carried out in both interfaces. As the next step the results obtained by the three methods are compared with measured values and also evaluated. The final part of the thesis focuses on the optimization of the magnetic circuit for higher frequencies. Efficiency of the modified induction motor is examined for higher frequencies using RMxprt Optimetrics and this procedure is performed for both default and alternative electrical steel materials.

The thesis deals with the design of a hybrid magnetic bearing. This is an extension of the issue of common bearings in high-speed motors. The work is divided into three parts. A general theory of magnetic bearings is described in the first part. The second part deals with the mathematical description of the bearing. A proposal of specific hybrid magnetic bearing is described in the third part. The bearing for the motor was already designed. It is a 45000rpm motor with a power output of 12 kW. This thesis aims to create a design of hybrid magnetic bearing with magnets to create a permanent magnetic field and coils to regulate forces to stabilize the rotor and limit vibrations. The practical design includes mathematical calculation in Matlab and computer simulation based on the finite element method in ANSYS Maxwell.

Abstract:
The doctoral thesis is focused on research, design, implementation and testing of systems for the application of magnetic vector potential to biological materials. The main objective was to analyze and design systems which could generate magnetic vector potential without the presence of other unwanted fields or at least amplify its intensity. Moreover, the systems designed had to eliminate other foreign effects on the biological samples, especially the influence of waste heat from the coils. Toroidal coils were employed to generate the vector potential, because they confine the unwanted magnetic induction inside their core thanks to their shape. The thesis employed coils with two different outer diameters, specifically 102 and 600 mm. To excite the coils, four current pulse generators capable of delivering currents of up to 100 A were constructed. The systems’ generated fields were comprehensively analyzed with the help of finite-element simulations in ANSYS. To simplify the design phase, analytical equations for the calculation of vector potential intensity at an arbitrary point around the toroidal coils were also derived. A method employing electromagnetic shielding made of two different materials was developed to suppress the unwanted fields. To eliminate the influence of heat, the 102 mm system employed air cooling and the 600 mm system employed a closed water loop to equalize the temperatures of biological samples. The biological effects of both systems were tested on genetically modified bio-luminescent bacteria Escherichia coli K12 luxABCDEamp. Random number generation can be based on physical events with probabilistic character, or on algorithms that use complex or one-way functions, alternatively on both of these approaches. A magnetic vortex is a basic state of magnetization that forms in magnetic micro- and nanostructures of an appropriate shape, dimensions and material. Quantities of the magnetic vortex form randomly if ambient conditions are chosen eligibly. A concept of a true random number generator using a random switching of states of the magnetic vortex is presented in this thesis. This concept is realized and random numbers were experimentally generated and numbers were statistically analysed.

Car4 posloužilo jako základ pro již přes 20 diplomových prací od roku 2010. To znamenalo, že některé základní aspekty car4 byly zastaralé. Bylo vytvořeno schéma elektroniky vozidla, které bylo dále využito pro vývoj a výrobu nového hardwaru. Komponenty byly poté otestovány a implementovány na vozidlo. Dále byl vytvořen kinematický model 4WS vozidla za použití Ackermanovy geometrie, který byl implenetován a otestován na car4. Dále by měl sloužit jako základ řídicího algoritmu pro budoucí vývoj car4.

In the first part of the thesis deals with the formation of a magnetic field in different kinds of materials, description of their magnetization and sorting. The next part is focused on the principle and history of an electromagnet. Negative effects and remanent induction of the contactor are described in the end of the theoretical part. The second part is a practical part. First, the reaction times were measured on a pair of DC contactors. Using the obtained data, an electronic circuit was designed to minimize the difference in switching times of the given DC contactors.

Uměle vytvořené systémy spinového ledu jsou vhodným nástrojem pro zkoumání neobvyklých jevů, které se v přírodě dají jen těžko pozorovat. Speciálním případem umělého spinového ledu je kagome mřížka, která umožňuje zkoumat kolektivní chování spinů v látce. Tento systém má řadu předpovězených exotických magnetických fází, které zatím nebyly změřeny a prozkoumány v reálném prostoru. V rámci této práce se zabýváme úpravou kagome mřížky tak, aby mohla být využita ke zkoumání exotických stavů v reálném prostoru. Experimenty provedené na naší upravené mřížce ukazují, že jsme schopni detekovat nízko i vysoko energiové stavy, a tedy, že námi navržená úprava kagome mřížky je vhodná pro zkoumání exotických stavů v reálném prostoru.

This dissertation work deals with the subject of a company in the area of e-commerce, which represents short-term or long-term plans in controlling the financial relationship toward the outer environment but also inside the company. The problem of possible abuse of credit cards is briefly analysed as well. The impulse for choosing this topic was increasing number of falsification and abusing of credit cards. When this subject is analysed in detail, the problem connected with lack of information on this particular area of crime inevitably appears. Clients of individual banking institutions often do not have even the basic knowledge about the ways their cards could be abused or misused. This is why the question of certain, at least minimal, basic information campaign done by the banks, which are supposed to protect the financial means of their clients. This dissertation work sets its goal in creating the methods of investigation of credit cards abuse not only in the Czech Republic but in the growing system of countries of Schengen Treaty and European Union. The benefit of the work can be seen in the level of theory as well of practice. The theoretical part of the work contains the analysis of the current situation of scientific knowledge in the area of information and communication technology of companies, which is implemented into information systems. Then the advantages and disadvantages connected with this kind of e-commerce are assessed and the specific opportunities for abuse of these media of payment are characterised. The problem sees mainly in writing a specialised publication, which would deal with the problem of abuse and falsification of credit cards and its possible use would be at police academies. Its main part should be the characteristics of particular forms of cards forging and also possible identification of these forgeries. This book could also help in prevention and inform clients of financial institutions about the ways of credit cards abuse. In the practical part, which concentrates on the Czech and foreign market, the author sets the basic premises for realisation of safe business of companies in the Czech Republic and its procedures. Furthermore the reasons of e-commerce abuse in the Czech Republic are analysed and results of quantification research presented. This was concentrated on ascertainment of reason of low interest in information among the public. In the conclusive part of the work the whole problem is summarised and there are also outlined perspectives and possibilities of further development

The Master's thesis deals with the mechanical design of electric machine rotor. Within the first two chapters of the practical part of the thesis two simplified computational models of the rotor (level 1 models) are compiled. Specifically, the model of flexible rotor mounted on rigid supports and model of rigid rotor mounted on flexible supports. The essence of these computational models lies in solvability using simple equations. Using these models can save time when constructing a pre-design of the rotor geometry. The following chapter is devoted to comparing different approaches to computational modeling of rotor using FEM. A predetermined preliminary design of a high-speed massive rotor is investigated. Computational models of different levels at stress-strain analysis and modal analysis are presented. It also includes a suggestion on how to proceed effectively in a given analysis.

The aim of this thesis is to design a drive for seal-less centrifugal pump. Designed motor with axial magnetic flux is a double-sided structure with an internal coreless stator. The construction of the seal-less pump is based on a patent no. 17818, which was created at the Victor Kaplan Department of Fluid Engineering BUT. Potential use of this assembly is mainly in the food industry, possibly in the field of chemically aggressive liquids. The whole design is based on coordination between analytical equations and finite element method of the software ANSYS Maxwell. The temperature ratios inside the motor were investigated when cooling with air by the iterative solution of thermal circuit. The work includes research on the topic of constructing the axial machines and their applications in pumps. A comprehensive specification of the entire seal-less centrifugal pump is given in Chapter 4.

Magnetický tunelový spoj (MTJ) je spintronická součástka komerčně používaná ve vysoce citlivých čtecích hlavách pevných disků. Počínaje rokem 2007 přispěla k udržení exponenciálního nárůstu hustoty magnetického zápisu. Kromě toho se také stala stavebním kamenem rychlé, odolné, úsporné a nevolatilní magnetické paměti s přímým přístupem (MRAM). Tento nový typ polovodičové paměti, stejně jako je tomu u čtecích hlav disků, využívá tunelové spoje založené na krystalickém oxidu hořečnatém (MgO) spolu s 3d kovovými magnetickými prvky (Fe a Co). Pro zmenšení MTJ a současné udržení dlouhodobé stability paměti proti tepelným fluktuacím je zapotřebí silná magnetická anizotropie ve směru kolmém na rozhraní kov|MgO. V této práci proto nejdříve provedeme analýzu magnetokrystalické anizotropie (MCA) kubického prostorově centrovaného Fe, Co a Ni na MgO pomocí ab initio simulací. Dále bude vyvinut program pro výpočet tvarové anizotropie, která je kromě MCA velmi podstatná, neboť v součtu dávají efektivní anizotropii. Na závěr implementujeme program pro výpočet MCA na základě poruchové teorie druhého řádu. To nám umožní dát pozorované anizotropní vlastnosti do souvislosti přímo s elektronickou strukturou systému (pásovou strukturou a hustotou stavů).

Abstract:
To compete with other manufacturing companies in the market, product design and manufacturing methods need to be improved constantly. To save time and money, there is an advantage if there is a manufacturing plan in place before designing the final product. Composites have been used worldwide for over 6,000 years and their use is expected to increase in the future. Composites offer advantages in product design and manufacturing since it can be adapted to the intended purpose.  The purpose of the project is to determine whether it is possible to produce a magnetic polymer composite with a sufficiently high magnetism to lift a specific weight. The purpose is fulfilled through practical executions together with a literature study to find out which materials were most suitable for the application. The polymer composites were tested in magnetic tests to see if a sufficiently high magnetism was obtained to lift the specific weight.  Two steel powders, differing in particle structure and density, were mixed with an epoxy as a binder and then cast in two different moulds with a depth of 2 mm and 4 mm. The proportions of the steel powder were tested from 50% up to 97%. The result showed that sufficiently high magnetism to lift the intended weight was reached at a concentration of steel powder between 85% - 97%. The composites did not exhibit the necessary magnetic capacity to function in the intended application and therefore further tests with a magnetic material with higher relative permeability are proposed.
Syftet med arbetet är att undersöka om det går att framställa en polymerkomposit med tillräcklig magnetisk kraft för att lyfta en skiva som väger 100g. Polymerkompositen ska tillverkas genom gjutning. De parametrar som behöver tas hänsyn till i arbetet är vilka material som är lämpliga att använda i kompositen, vilka proportioner av plast- och magnetiskt material som behövs för att skapa tillräcklig magnetisk kraft och den magnetiska kraft som polymerkompositen behöver erhålla för att lyfta skivan. Materialvalet är en viktig aspekt i arbetet för att uppnå önskat resultat. Det magnetiska materialet behöver ha en hög relativ permeabilitet, det vill säga en hög grad av förmågan att magnetisera sig själv med ett pålagt externt magnetfält, för att uppnå tillräcklig magnetisk kraft. Vid val av polymermaterial är det viktigt att ta hänsyn till materialets viskositet, med andra ord, materialets tjockhet. Det med anledning för att en lägre viskositet hos polymeren tillåter högre koncentration av metallpartiklar. Vilket är önskvärt för att få in så mycket magnetiskt material som möjligt i polymerkompsiten. Proportionerna av de två materialen behöver anpassas efter dess egenskaper för att uppnå en önskad magnetisk kraft. Ett magnetiskt material som har en hög relativ permeabilitet behöver till exempel blandas med ett polymermaterial med högre viskositet för att blandningen inte ska sedimentera.   Kompositer har använts i hela världen i över 6000 år och användningen förväntas att öka under framtiden. Grunden till detta projekt är att en stålbricka med magnetiska egenskaper ska bytas ut mot en magnetisk polymerkomposit i ett instrument. Fördelen med en komposit är möjligheten att anpassas efter ändamålet och därför till exempel kan vara lättare, tåligare, flexibla och motstå korrosion.  Genom praktiska undersökningar tillsammans med en litteraturstudie uppfylls syftet att ta reda på lämpliga material och proportioner. Avslutningsvis ska de gjutna polymerkompositerna testas i magnetiska tester för att undersöka om tillräckligt hög magnetism kan erhållas för att lyfta den specifika vikten. I arbetet används två stålpulver som skiljer sig i partikelstruktur och densitet, dessa stålpulver blandas med bindemedlet epoxi och gjuts därefter i två olika formar med djupet 2mm och 4mm. Proportionerna i vikt för stålpulvret testades från 50% upp till 97%. Resultatet visade att tillräckligt hög magnetism för att lyfta avsedd vikt nåddes vid en koncentration av stålpulver mellan 85% -97%. Resultatet visade inte tillräckligt hög magnetism för att fungera i den avsedda applikationen och därför föreslås vidare tester med ett magnetiskt material med högre relativ permeabilitet.

Táto práca pojednáva o problematike vytvárania a simulácie reluktančnej sieti synchrónneho stroja s V tvarovanými permanentnými magnetmi v programe PSpice. Na začiatku sa oboznámime s konštrukciou a parametrami stroja a potom vyvodíme základné rovnice na výpočet každého prvku siete. Vypočítame každý prvok tohto stroja a potom vytvoríme túto sieť v PSpice. Na začiatku je simulovaná sieť statická a všetky magnetické odpory sú lineárne. Neskôr nahradíme lineárne odpory reprezentujúce plechy nelineárnymi a počítame s precovnou teplotou permanentných magnetov. Potom porovnáme naše výsledky s FEM metódou počítanými hodnotami a vypočítame indukované napätie v jednej cievke stroja. Na záver vypočítame výkonovú a momentovú charakteristiku stroja.

Nesse trabalho foram estudados os compostos intermetalicos do tipo RAg (R = Nd, Gd e Ho) por calculos teoricos desenvolvidos dentro do formalismo da Teoria do Funcional Densidade (DFT). O metodo APW+lo (Augmented Planes Waves + lo- cal orbitals) foi aplicado para resolver a equacao de Kohn-Sham e a Aproximacao do Gradiente Generalizado (GGA) usada para tratar de forma aproximada o potencial de troca-correlacao. O codigo computacional utilizado foi o WIEN2k. As atividades foram focalizadas em duas frentes. Numa delas, determinou-se a fase magnetica do estado fundamental dos compos- tos HoAg e NdAg. Para isso, simulou-se as 4 estruturas magneticas possiveis (para as celulas cristalinas cubicas) desses dois sistemas (uma ferromagnetica (0,0,0) e as antifer-romagneticas: (0,0,¼), (¼,¼,0) e (¼,¼,¼)) e com a confeccao de gra¯cos de energia das celulas cristalinas dessas estruturas magneticas pela variacao dos volumes de tais celulas, chegou-se na estrutura magnetica (¼,¼,0) como a mais provavel para o estado fundamental magnetico de ambos os compostos. Tambem observou-se que o sistema de NdAg apre- senta uma pequena diferenca entre as energias das estruturas antiferromagnetica (¼,¼,0) e ferromagnetica. Creditou-se a esse efeito a explicacao de encontrar-se na literatura re- sultados experimentais diferentes para a estrutura magnetica do composto de NdAg puro e dopado com o atomo de 140Ce (entrando no sitio do Nd). Acredita-se que a dopagem do NdAg com o atomo de 140Ce (em uma porcao reduzida), gera alteracao no sinal da integral de troca (acoplamento RKKY), mudando-o de positivo para negativo, e isso implica na modficacao da fase magnetica do estado fundamental, passando da estrutura (¼,¼,0) µa 0,0,0). Assim, com a informacao anterior da estrutura magnetica do composto de NdAg quando dopado com o atomo de 140Ce, entrou-se na segunda etapa do estudo. Nela, fez-se os calculos das estruturas eletronicas usando a aproximacao de supercelulas nos compostos de GdAg e NdAg dopados com o atomo de Ce, garantindo que esse substituisse um atomo de terra rara nas supercelulas cristalinas montadas para determinar no Ce o campo hiperfino magnetico e suas componentes geradoras. Os compostos de GdAg e NdAg (dopados com Ce), respectivamente, tiveram suas celulas cristalinas montadas ferromagnetica e antiferromagneticamente. Utilizou-se a polarizacao orbital (DFT+U) nos eletrons da camada 4f das terras raras (excluindo-se o atomo de Gd que nao apresenta momento angular). Dessa forma, em ambos os sistemas foi possivel fazer varias simulacoes, nas quais a camada 4f do atomo de Ce foi populada de maneiras diferentes, afim de se obter varios valores de momento angular e com isso diversos resultados de campo hiperfino orbital foram conseguidos; assim, automaticamente o campo magnetico hiperfino tambem assumiu diferentes valores. Escolheu-se os sub-estados da camada 4f do Ce para serem simulados por meio da regra de Hund. Como esperado o campo hiperfino magnetico orbital gerado na camada 4f e a principal componente do campo hiper¯no total no atomo de Ce e ele apresenta sinal contrario µa componente de contato. Apesar dos resultados teoricos do campo hiperfino magnetico terem consideravel discrepancia dos resultados experimentais, pode-se verificar que o unico eletron da camada 4f do atomo de Ce (nos dois compostos) possivelmente esta em um dos seguintes sub-estados da camada 4f: ml = ¡2, ml = ¡1 ou ainda uma combinacao dos dois.
In this work the magnetic hyper¯ne ¯eld acting on Ce atoms substituting the rare-earths in RAg compounds (R = Gd e Nd) was studied by means of ¯rst-principles electronic structure calculations. The employed method was the Augmented Plane Waves plus local orbitals (APW+lo), embodied in the WIEN2k program, within the framework of the Density Functional Theory (DFT) and with the Generalized Gradient Approximation (GGA) for the exchange and correlation potential. The super-cell approach was utilized in order to simulate for the Ce atoms acting as impurities in the RAg matrix. In order to improve for correlation e®ects within the 4f shells, a Hubbard term was added to the DFT hamiltonian, within a procedure called GGA+U. It was found that the magnetic hyper¯ne ¯eld (MHF) generated by the Ce 4f electron is the main component of the total MHF and that the Ce 4f ground state level is probably a combination of the ml = ¡2 and ml = ¡1 sub-levels. In addition, the ground-state magnetic structure was determined for HoAg and NdAg by observing the behavior of the total energy as a function of the lattice volume v for several possible magnetic ordering in these compounds, namelly, ferromagnetic, and the (0,0,¼), (¼,¼,0) and (¼,¼,¼) types of anti-ferromagnetic ordering of rare-earth atoms. It was found that the ground-state magnetic structure is anti-ferromagnetic of type (¼,¼,0) for both, the HoAg and NdAg compounds. The energy di®erence of the ferromag-netic and antiferromagnetic ordering is very small in the case of the NdAg compound.

Abstract:
Metastable paramagnetic face-centered cubic (fcc) Fe thin films deposited on a Cu(100) single-crystal are good candidates for focused ion-beam magnetic patterning, due to their structural and magnetic phase transformation to ferromagnetic body-centered cubic (bcc) Fe upon ion-beam irradiation. However, pure fcc Fe films undergo spontaneous transformation when their thickness exceeds 10 ML. This limit can be extended to approximately 22 ML by deposition of Fe at increased CO background pressures. We show that much thicker films can be grown by alloying with Ni, that stabilizes the fcc phase. The amount of Ni necessary to stabilize non-magnetic, metastable fcc Fe films in dependence on the residual background pressure during the deposition is determined and a phase diagram revealing the metastable region is presented. It is also shown that the stabilizing effect of CO can be removed by artificial O saturation of the surface and thus the Ni-stabilized films can be grown also in systems with lower vacuum. Finally, we present fabrication of micro- and nanostructures in 44 ML thick films of Fe alloyed with Ni on Cu(100) by focused ion beam.

This thesis explores British-led efforts to observe and map the earth’s magnetic field between 1833 and 1857. In doing so, the thesis examines how magnetic instruments, magnetic observers and magnetic instructions were mobilised in and across multiple geographies, from the Canadian Arctic, to the island of St Helena, to Van Diemen’s Land in the southern hemisphere and at many sites in between. Interest in terrestrial magnetic research burgeoned and was crystallised during the early nineteenth century in Britain and abroad and resulted in the creation of systems of physical observatories and the organisation of magnetic surveys. This work addresses what it meant to coordinate such a network by scrutinising what is popularly known as “the magnetic crusade”, but which was more commonly referred to at the time as the British magnetic scheme. There were several individuals involved in the formation of this scheme but this thesis focuses on two in particular: Edward Sabine and Humphrey Lloyd. In the correspondence of these two figures, we can follow the process by which terrestrial magnetic research was disciplined, its participants educated, its observational data organised and its instruments developed, deployed and used at different stations across the globe. This work seeks to extend and at times complicate our understanding of what it meant to coordinate a big Victorian scientific pursuit and explores among other things the management of instruments in different geographic contexts; the experience of scientific servicemen in the observatory and during surveying efforts; the space in which magnetic data were handled and the processes employed in reducing these data. In all, this thesis aims to recover the several different practices of place that attended the organisation of what was considered in the first half of the nineteenth century to be the greatest scientific endeavour yet pursued.

Abstract:
The aim of this master´s thesis is to introduce methods of diagnostics of vibrations in electrical machines. Describe the various vibration sources located inside and outside of the electric machine. Description of the sources of vibration is then preferably dedicated to vibration of electromagnetic origin. There is a description of the construction of an asynchronous motor and the magnetic circuit, the theory of vibrations and their origin. Described are also vibration sensor enables measurement and mathematical tools for their evaluation. In this work also practical vibration measurements on an asynchronous motor, data processing, their subsequent analysis and computer simulation of electromagnetic vibration origin. The conclusion of this work is devoted to the evaluation of the data obtained.

Abstract:
Treatment of wastewater using magnetic technology is a rising field. In this thesis, the latest research on the subject is reviewed and several adsorbents with different coatings, which impart them unique properties, are discussed. Separation of particles from aqueous solution using magnetic technology is more convenient compared to conventional techniques, such as filtration and centrifugation. The adsorbents described in this thesis are effective for adsorption of several types of contaminants, such as heavy metals and different types of dyes.    Magnetic microspheres were synthesised using porous polystyrene microspheres as template. The microspheres were first sulfonated using chlorosulfonic acid followed by stirring in the presence of ferrous chloride which then was oxidised and magnetic nanoparticles were formed on the surface.    The sulfonated microspheres had a surface area of 420 m2/g and the magnetic 175 m2/g, indicative of Fe3O4 nanoparticles were successfully formed in the pores. The weight fraction of the Fe3O4 nanoparticles in the magnetic microspheres was 33 %.    Adsorption and desorption studies of the cationic dye, methylene blue, using mesoporous magnetic microspheres were performed. The results show that the mesoporous magnetic microspheres have good ability to adsorb methylene blue at low concentrations. In a cycle study the adsorption efficiency were nearly 100 % throughout the study. Using a 6/4 EtOH/H2O with saturated KCl solution the desorption efficiency in the cycle study were about 95 %.      The microspheres were used as carriers for TiO2 in order to overcome the problem with the separation of TiO2 from solution. The TGA results show that the microspheres contained about 12 % of TiO2. The TiO2 coated microspheres were used for the photocatalytic degradation of phenol. However, the TiO2 microspheres did not work. This was a result from that the phenol had too little contact with the TiO2. A possible way of solving this problem could be to decrease the size of the microspheres, thus increase the surface area.    Lysozyme was adsorbed and separated using the porous microspheres. The lysozyme adsorption worked best at pH 9.6, which is the pI for lysozyme. The lysozyme could be extracted from the microspheres by using a pH 13 buffer. Also, by using MeOH/H2O and EtOH/H2O solutions with saturated KCl the lysozyme could be desorbed. An adsorption and desorption mechanism was also presented.
Vattenrening med magnetisk teknologi är en ny och alltmer uppmärksammad teknik. Magnetisk separation är ett enkelt och snabbt sätt att separera något från en lösning. Magnetisk separation är mer lätthanterligt jämfört med traditionell separationsteknik såsom centrifugering och filtrering.  Med porösa polystyren mikrosfärer som mall, syntetiserades magnetiska mikrosfärer. Först så sulfonerades mikrosfärerna med klorosulfonisk syra, följt av att de rördes om i en järnkloridlösning. Magnetiska nanopartiklar bildades i porerna och på ytan av mikrosfärerna.    Sulfonerade mikrosfärerna hade en specifik ytarea på 420 m2/g och de magnetiska 175 m2/g, detta indikerar att Fe3O4-nanopartiklar bildades på ytan och i porerna. Massfraktionen av Fe3O4 var 33 %.    Adsorption- och desorptionsstudier på de magnetiska mikrosfärerna utfördes. Färgämnet metylblått användes i studien. Resultaten visade att magnetiska mikrosfärerna hade en bra adsorptionsförmåga vid låga koncentrationer av metylblått. Cykelstudier visade att adsorptionsverkningsgraden var nära 100 % under flera adsorptionscykler. Desorptionsförsök med olika lösningsmedel visade att en mättad KCl 6/4 EtOH/H2O lösning gav en desorptions-verkningsgrad på ca 95 %.   Mikrosfärerna användes som mall och kärna för att syntetisera en TiO2-fotokatalysator, detta för att överkomma problemet som finns med separation av rent TiO2 pulver från lösning. TGA resultaten visade att mikrosfärerna innehöll ca 12 % TiO2. De syntetiserade TiO2-mikrosfärerna användes till att bryta ner fenol fotokatalytiskt. Dock fungerade inte detta experiment. En anledning var att fenolen hade för lite kontakt med TiO2. En lösning på detta problem är att använda mikrosfärer med högre specifik ytarea.    Proteinet lysozym användes som modellprotein för försök att separera proteiner från lösning genom att använda porösa mikrosfärer. Resultatet visade att lysozym kunde adsorberas vid pH 9.6. Med en pH 13 buffer kunde lysozymet sedan extraheras från mikrosfärerna. En mekanism för adsorptionen och desorptionen på mikrosfärerna presenterades.

Umělé spinové systémy jsou vhodným nástrojem pro zkoumání a ovlivňování neobvyklých exotických nízko-energiových stavů přímo v reálném prostoru. Experimentální realizace těchto systémů jsou založeny na výrobě vzájemně interagujících nano-magnetů uspořádaných do požadované geometrie. Prvním a asi i nejvíce studovaným umělým systémem je prostá čtvercová mřížka. V této práci se zabýváme modifikováním této čtvercové geometrie, které umožní zachycení různých magnetických fází založených na modelech ledu. Výsledky ukazují, že vhodným nastaveném této modifikace lze realizovat různé magnetické fáze, včetně neuspořádané spinové kapalné fáze s uvězněnými magnetickými kvazičásticemi (magnetickými monopóly).

This diploma thesis is focused on investigation of metallic thin films and nanostructures using scanning probe microscopy. Magnetic properties of these objects are studied by magnetic force microscopy, which is modification of scanning probe microscopy. In the theoretical part basic principles of scanning probe microscopy and magnetic force microscopy are summarized, and also principle of creation of magnetic domains and some special properties of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials. Further, two techniques of fabricating nanostructures are described. Experimental part is focused on imaging and simulating of magnetic domains. Further, exchange bias is revealed. This phenomenon is present in systems composed from ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic materials. One part of this diploma thesis is also focused on discussion of problems with magnetic force microscopy.

The goal of this diploma thesis was to create a script in MATLAB, which is capable to load DICOM pictures, read the data in their headers and then select the right series for perfusion analysis. This analysis is based on detection of contrast fluid in bloodstream and tissue and right interpretation of concentration changes of this fluid in time. This work is trying to describe a way of building an ultimate system capable of autonomous tumor analysis and classification. In the end, there is an analysis of DICOM sample performed by created script.

Resumo: A identificação da categoria de um veículo que trafega em uma via é um importante parâmetro para sistemas de gerenciamento de tráfego. A classificação veicular tem aplicações como planejamento do sistema viário, estimativa de emissões veiculares e fiscalização de tráfego. Várias técnicas são empregadas para realizar a tarefa de classificação de veículos, sendo que a maioria processa informações provenientes dos sensores indutivos. Neste trabalho, é avaliado um sistema para classificação de veículos tanto em seis categorias, como em oito categorias. O sistema utiliza rede neural perceptron multicamada (Multi-Layer Perceptron - MLP) e é comparado com outras técnicas lineares de classificação como as medidas de similaridade Distância Euclidiana e Distância de Mahalanobis. As variáveis de entrada utilizadas para a rede neural foram extraídas a partir dos perfis magnéticos adquiridos. Este estudo apresenta uma análise da seleção dos parâmetros de entrada para a classificação. O sistema avaliado foi capaz de alcançar índices de acerto na classificação de 97% em seis categorias e 90% em oito categorias. Os resultados dos testes mostram a viabilidade técnica de se utilizar o sistema em equipamentos fixo de fiscalização eletrônica, permitindo a diferenciação de categorias muito semelhantes entre si como, por exemplo, caminhonetes de camionetas.

Este trabalho apresenta um estudo teórico e para implementação das Linhas Equipotenciais de Fmm, que consistem de Linhas Geométricas sobre as quais incide um mesmo Potencial Escalar Magnético, para as Coroas Estatóricas de Máquinas Elétricas Girantes. Sobre estas linhas são estabelecidos os Fluxos Magnéticos Impostos de acordo com a lei de Faraday e com base na distribuição dos Campos Magnéticos em Máquinas Elétricas Girantes trifásicas. Com estas Linhas Equipotenciais de Fmm e com a imposição dos Fluxos Magnéticos é proposto um novo Método Numérico Iterativo, chamado de "Caminhos Finitos", que considera a curva BxH (não linear) do meio material, para o cálculo da difusão dos Campos e Induções Magnéticas no domínio de estudo das Coroas de Máquinas elétricas Girantes. Para uma comprovação experimental, são apresentadas, em forma de gráficos comparativos, as soluções obtidas pelo Método de Caminhos Finitos proposto e pelo Método de Elementos Finitos (EFCAD). Ainda estão apresentadas as vantagens, conclusões e considerações finais a respeito do trabalho.

Cell biological exposure studies in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) environment, where a complex mixture of strong magnetic fields are present, have attracted considerable interest in recent years. The outcome of such studies might depend strongly on the conditions, for example exposure parameters and spatial variations of exposure. The aim of this thesis has been to give a detailed description of how the radio frequency (RF) magnetic field varies with position and sequence choice within an MRI bore from a patient perspective and to highlight the need of better consistency in future research. Method: A straightforward theoretical description on the contribution to the RF magnetic field from a birdcage coil is given. A one dimensional coaxial loop antenna has been used as a probe to measure spatial variations of the RF magnetic field in a 1.5T MRI scanner. An exposure matrix containing RF magnetic field strength (H1-field) amplitudes in three dimensions was constructed and used to study several clinical protocols and sequences. A qualified correspondence measurement was also made on a 3T MRI scanner. Results: Around isocenter, for a common field-of-view (FOV), changes in exposure conditions were small; however, rapid changes of exposure conditions occurred upon approaching the end rings. The dominating H1-field component switched from lying in the xy-plane to pointing the z-direction and was roughly 3 times larger than in isocenter. Practical difficulties indicate even larger differences at positions not measurable with the equipment at hand. The strongest H1-field component was 32.6 A/m at position (x,y,z)=(-24,8,24) cm from the isocenter. Conclusions: Machine parameters such as repetition time, echo time and flip angle have little to do with actual exposure. Specic absorption rate (SAR) values correlated well with the square of measured root-mean-square (RMS) values of the magnetic field (B1,RMS) but not with peak values of the magnetic field (B1,peak), indicating that peak values are not unlikely to be part of compromising factors in previous contradictory exposure research on genotoxicity. Furthermore exposure conditions depend strongly on position and unfavorable situations may occur in the periphery of the birdcage coil. Potentially elevated risks for conducting surfaces, for example arms or external fixations, in the proximity of the end rings, are proposed. Aside from spatial variation consideration on which type of geometry exposed cell-biological samples are placed in should be held since eddy currents, hot-spots and proper SAR depend on geometry. Conditions may vary considerably between in-vitro, ex-vivo and in-vivo studies since geometries of test tubes, petri dishes and humans differ.

Abstract:
The thesis has been focused on testing of micromethod of DNA isolation using magnetic particles from thermic-managed food products in a quality suitable for polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Currant jams were selected for the analysis. These were homogenized using plastic copist and stomacher in lysis buffer with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The effect of chloroform-octanol and isopropanol in the preparation of homogenates was tested. Homogenates were used for DNA isolation by magnetic particles. Rough fraction of DNA was purified by binding on the magnetic particles after centrifugation of the CTAB complexes with proteins, polyphenols and polysaccharides. Two types of magnetic particles were tested: microparticles of poly(hydroxyethylmethacrylate-co-glycidylmethacrylate) - P(HEMA-co-GMA) and nanoparticles of iron oxides covered by poly(L-lysine) - PLL. Isolated DNA was analyzed spectrophotometrically - it was assessed its concentration and contamination by polyphenols and proteins. After that, amplification of the DNA was tested in PCR. Primers specific for plant ribosomal DNA were used. PCR products of expected length 700 bp were detected by agarose gel electrophoresis. It was shown that DNA isolated from currant jams using magnetic particles was in PCR-ready quality.

A presente tese se enquadra na área de materiais magneticamente duros e estuda o forjamento uniaxial a quente de ligas fundidas, Pr(Nd)-Fe-B-Cu, para produzir uma orientação preferencial do eixo-C, eixo de fácil magnetização, durante a prensagem na direção de forjamento. O forjamento uniaxial a quente possui a grande vantagem de não envolver o estágio de trabalho com o material na forma de pó. Nesse processo, somente um passo de deformação após o lingote ser fundido e dois simples tratamentos térmicos são necessários para se ter um bom produto final, o que se diferencia dos complicados passos da metalurgia do pó.
