Heavy metal rich industrial discharges solemnly threaten the condition of ecosystem and human haleness. Lead pollution as a result of various anthropogenic activities is a major concern due to its high toxic nature. Chelating capacities of treated Magnolia champaca Barks (TMCB) and treated Attapulgite Clay Powder (TACP) are investigated in the process of sequestration under lab scale conditions. The sorbent matrices are subjected to microscopic, SEM / EDAX and FTIR analyses to study the variations in the adsorbents surfaces, alterations in the surface morphological characteristics, specific in

Mercury (Hg) is a useful heavy metal; however, it is toxic to both humans and the environment. Tree bark is an excellent bioindicator, which has been proven to be effective in studying the level of atmospheric Hg contamination. This study aimed to determine the distribution of evaporated Hg using the total weight of Hg (THg) in tree barks in Indonesia at the artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) area of Bunut Seberang Village and Lampung University, respectively. Samples were taken using purposive sampling, based on the criteria of forestry trees at a height level of 1.3 m above ground

Aims: This study aims at estimating contribution of urban Parks and gardens by carbon sequestration and suggests suitable strategies that can be helpful in reducing climate change impacts in urban centres. The challenges of climate change can be efficiently overcome by the storage of carbon in terrestrial carbon sinks viz. plants, plant products and soils for longer periods. Selection of appropriate trees can help mitigate climate impact.
Study Design: Non-destructive sampling method of biomass estimation was used to measure to GBH of individual trees.
