Abstract:
The article focuses on the issue of the international status of Russia during the reign of Peter the Great, which progressed from regional power in Eurasia to great power. It seeks to establish when and how Russia officially became a great power. The Poltava victory over the Swedish army (1709) showed that Russia had created the military-industrial poten- tial necessary for great power. The tsar gradually prepared the conditions for the proclama- tion of Russia as an empire and himself as an emperor. Arguably, the recognition of the title by the European states cannot be the main criterion for determining the time of Russia's transformation into a great power because recognizing the imperial title dragged on for sev- eral decades. The great power position of Russia and its new role in international relations began to find its reflection in the treaties between the leading European powers before the official recognition as an empire. International treaties of Russia with France, Austria, Prussia, Rzeczpospolita, Sweden, China, the Ottoman Empire and the Crimean Khanate show that for the first time, the new role of Russia as a great power, as the guarantor of the common Eu- ropean contractual system after the War of the Spanish Succession (1701 / 1702-1714) was enshrined in the Amsterdam Treaty (1717), which was concluded between Russia, France, and Prussia. The subsequent treaty, which had a similar significance for the assertion of the great power role of Russia in Europe, was signed in Vienna on July 26 (August 6), 1726, with another great power - Austria. The system of treaties that Russia was part of in the last years of the reign of Peter the Great was strikingly different from the one that was at the beginning of the reign. According to the Treaty of Nystad, Russia was registered as the guarantor of the new internal state structure of Sweden (which ceased to be an absolutist state) and even the guarantor of the rights to the throne of King Fredrik I (Article 7). Under the allied defense treaty with Sweden (February 22, 1724), both countries agreed to be the guarantors of the internal political structure of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The analysis of docu- ments allows us to make a general conclusion that the treaties of Russia with other countries at the end of the reign of Peter the Great were one of the pillars of the system of international relations in Europe, which signified that Russia acquired new great power status.

Abstract:
Peter (Peter) Lachmann’s Life in the Space of Translation The article discusses Przemysław Chojnowski’s research on the work of Peter (Piotr) Lachmann, a German-Polish author born in pre-war Gliwice (Gleiwitz). Lachmann consistently thematizes the experience of the borderland, describing his existence between two languages and cultures, that is, a “life in translation”. The culmination of Chojecki’s long-time research is the monograph Liminalność i bycie „pomiędzy” w twórczości Petera (Piotra) Lachmanna. Studium literacko-kulturowe (Kraków, 2020), which is the main subject of analysis in this article. This work situates itself in the domain of modern anthropological-cultural comparative studies, clearly and convincingly demonstrating the heuristic potential of such approach. Chojnowski’s book is not only a mine of information about the work of Peter (Piotr) Lachmann, but also an invitation to discuss the broader issues of borderland and cultural bivalence, usually associated with ambiguous national identification.

Life-cycle cost management is the foundation and techniques for life-cycle cost management. Petri nets has a graphical expression, can improve and add more features and information to Fault tree analysis, Markov equations and so on, raising the speed and accuracy of the entire system of risk assessment. The paper propose a risk assessment based on the life-cycle management approach, establish four state model to analysis transformer substation main wiring operation, discuss elements occurring planned maintenance events and breaker tripping phenomenon, and propose using the basic equations of Petri nets to determine system status and calculate the corresponding probabilities, quantitative analysis of the outage costs of the substation main connection off for running, and seek the best value under the run. In the example discussing and calculating the risk indicators of outage costs for different wiring schemes, the results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed algorithm.

The microflora of natural (lake) water and industrial wastewater was investigated and the initial number of microorganisms in these waters was calculated. The main features of microorganisms identified during the process of their identification are indicated. Morphological, physiological and cultural characteristics of microorganisms were investigated by deep seeding of the samples of the investigated waters of the Lviv region on the nutrient media in the Petri dishes and by microscopy of preparations with lifelong staining. The growth pattern of colonies of microorganisms on meat-peptone agar (for bacteria) and wort-agar (for yeast) in a Petri dish is shown. Quantitative and qualitative characteristics of microorganisms were analyzed, revealing the predominant genera of micro-objects in lake and industrial wastewater: Diplococcus, Sarcina, Bacillus, Pseudomonas bacteria types, Oscillatoria cyanobacteria, and Saccharomyces yeasts.

Abstract:
This research discussed the main character in ParaNorman novel that has Byronic hero characteristics and also about the hero’s journey. This research used theories from Peter Thorslev and Atara Stein for the Byronic hero characteristics and Evie Lotze for the stages of hero's journey. The objective of this research is to find out the Byronic hero characteristics and the stages of hero’s journey portrayed through the main character named Norman Babcock. The result of this analysis shows Norman has several characteristics which included anti-social, superhuman-abilities, tender with girls, rebel, restless wandering, responsible and mysterious person. The result also showed that the journey Norman had in ParaNorman followed the stages of all the four stages of hero’s journey such as the call, wandering, help from unlikely places and others, and the last triumph or returning with the boon. Therefore, by analyzing characteristics and the stages of the hero’s journey by using theories from Peter Thorslev, Atara Stein, and Evie Lotze this research had concluded that Norman was able to fulfill the stages of the hero journey as a Byronic hero character in ParaNorman novel.

Full text
Abstract:

Photography in the First Person offers an alternative account of postmodernism in American art during the 1970s and `80s by examining the work of five photographers. Robert Mapplethorpe. Peter Hujar, Nan Goldin and Sally Mann, who are united, not by circumstance, style or acquaintance, but rather by how each one of them used aspects of their personal lives as subject matter, whether it was their friends, lovers, families or children. Collectively their art explores many of the same themes as that of the Pictures Generation, but is structurally opposite to it. Where the Pictures artists appropriated images from popular culture in order to demonstrate how identities were not given or natural, but were discursively and institutionally constructed, the practitioners of what I call photography in the first person set their sights on the ostensibly neutral viewer predicated by these same discourses and institutions—a viewer who is invariably male, white and heterosexual. Through a series of four case studies, it is shown how each of the aforementioned artists used the medium of photography and the specific contours of their personal lives through strategies of excess and indeterminacy to establish a different ethical stance towards the work of art. from one of detachment to one that forces us to consider our own bodies, desires and identifications.

Abstract We show that the EXPSPACE-hardness result for structural liveness of Petri nets [Jančar and Purser, 2019] holds even for a simple subclass of conservative nets. As the main result we then show that for structurally live conservative nets the values of the least live markings are at most double exponential in the size of the nets, which entails the EXPSPACE-completeness of structural liveness for conservative Petri nets; the complexity of the general case remains unclear. As a proof ingredient with a potential of wider applicability, we present an extension of the known results bounding the smallest integer solutions of boolean combinations of linear (in)equations and divisibility constraints.

Abstract The focus of this chapter is a 38-year-old man named Peter. When he was 32, Peter would probably have been described by his friends as a typical New Zealand family man. He worked hard as a spray painter so that he could pay off the house mortgage and provide his children with a higher quality of life than he had growing up. He and his wife enjoyed each other’s company and socialized on weekends with other couples and families with similar interests. Peter’s three sons were his pride and joy, and he spent quality time with them playing sports and taking them fishing and swimming.

Abstract:
The career of Peter Chan, a director whose career is transnational from local Hong Kong to Thailand, Hollywood and then to mainland China, is a success story of a Hong Kong filmmaker. His model of flexible identity, however, was closely intertwined with the waning of the distinctive characteristics of Hong Kong cinema. As one of the forerunners to go north after the signing of the Closer Economic Partnership Agreement, Chan is very familiar with co-productions. This chapter takes on Leap, a film about the legendary Chinese women’s volleyball team, to address his ability to sing the mainland melody in commercial genre films. It is argued that he is good at merging a mainland theme into a mainstream film genre.

In this paper, well-known inflow models commonly used in rotorcraft simulations are applied to a blade element rotor model and compared with the isolated rotor wind tunnel tests of the main rotor of the S-76 helicopter in trimmed conditions. The paper provides side-by-side comparisons of steady state power estimations, collective blade angles, lateral cyclic, longitudinal cyclic inputs and coning angles in hover and forward flight trim conditions, when uniform inflow, linearly distributed inflow with Payne's coefficient, Pitt-Peters inflow model and Peters-He inflow model with higher harmonics are used. In addition, the differences in side and drag forces are shown in forward flight, when different inflow models are used. Inflow and angle of attack distributions over the rotor disk are compared at various flight conditions. Concluding remarks on the observed differences are given.

Abstract:
This paper examines a problem of reconstructing the image of the Russian emperor Peter the Great in works of Chinese publicists, published during the late Qing period. The issue is poorly studied in Russian sinology. The history of the spread of information about Peter the Great in the Qing Empire is considered. The main printed editions containing such information are found out, the features of its content are analyzed. The general specificity of the perception of the historical figure of Peter the Great by the Chinese in the 19th — early 20th centuries is established. The reason for the popularity of Peter the Great is explained. The study is relevant due to the growth of scientific interest to the problems of intercultural communication both in history and in the context of the process of globalization.

The aim is to give a view of the main “sites” and debates that have arisen along Russian historiography since the 18th century. The “invention” of the “Chronicles” is one spectacular example. It goes from the first publication in 1846 to our days. Literature, painting, and music have constructed the Russian memory in the 18th century. Mussorgsky himself researched in the archives who were the Old believers, before writing his opera “Khovanshchina”. Ethnography appeared in the first half of the 19th century, the came great museums at the two extremities of the Empire, and a great number of ethnographical local museums are innumerable in Russia, have saved a lot of artefacts during the Soviet vandalistic period. Folklore was studied and local troubadours were registered until the end of the Soviet era. Emperor Peter the Great was keenly aware of the importance of creating his own myth during his lifetime, and succeeded, his role is still the main debate of Russian historiography and a very prominent site of memory. Loss of memory began early in the Soviet regime, loss of proletarian memory and as well as of peasant memory. Refs 9.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In this paper, we propose a family of specification-based coverage testing criteria for Coloured Petri Nets (CPNs). CPNs are an extension of Petri Nets with the capability of expressing, defining and handling datatypes and structured values. The main approaches used for testing and validation of CPNs based on specifications are simulation and analysis of properties. However, these approaches do not essentially provide a mechanism for quantifying the testing activity, compromising the testing quality assessment. The coverage criteria family proposed in this paper aims at complementing this scenario by providing mechanisms either to evaluate the adequacy of test sequences (e.g., sequences generated by simulation) or to guide the generation of adequate test sequences with respect to a given criterion. The underlying model to derive the requirements of the testing criteria is the occurrence graph. The concepts and criteria presented in this paper are supported by a prototyping tool. Some examples are provided to illustrate the main ideas.

Abstract:
In this paper, an approach is proposed to solve the scheduling problem of Workflow Management Systems. The proposed approach uses an activity diagram to show the main activities and the different routings of the Workflow Process. Based on the obtained activity diagram, the corresponding p-time Petri net model is produced. Hybrid resource allocation mechanisms are modelled by an hybrid Petri net in order to represent discrete and continuous resources. Then, a token player algorithm is applied to an example of “Handle Complaint Process” in order to obtain an acceptable scenario corresponding to a specific sequence of activities which respects the time constraints. Finally, a software architecture is proposed for the real time scheduling of Workflow Management Systems.

Abstract:
In the article on the material of the Salzburg weekly «New Days» (1945–1947) various spheres of activity of Peter Volyniak are presented. It is noted that this edition was a business card of the publishing house of the same name and had a history of continuation: in Toronto Petro Volyniak restored the publishing house of the same name and continued the publication in the format of the universal monthly «New Days» (1950–1969). The article also presents periodicals («Latest News», «New Days», «Timpani», «Our Way») and literary, artistic and scientific collection «Steering Wheel», which were published in the Salzburg publishing house of Peter Volyniak «New Days». The purpose of the publication is to trace the path of Petro Volyniak from a writer to a literary critic, journalist and publisher. This trend is reproduced in chronological order. Peter Volyniak as a writer is informed in the article «Literary Evening of P. Volyniak» (author – M. Ch-ka). O. Satsyuk’s literary-critical article is devoted to the coverage of ideological and artistic aspects of Petro Volyniak’s collection «The Earth Calls» (Salzburg, 1947). Petro Volyniak as a literary critic is presented in an article devoted to a collection of literary tales by A. Kolomiyets (Salzburg, 1946), which was published by «New Days». Petro Volyniak as a journalist presents the essay «This is our song…». With the help of content analysis it was observed that the text is divided into two parts: the first contains the author’s reflections on the Ukrainian song, its role in the life of the Ukrainian people; in the second, main, Peter Okopny’s activity abroad is presented. The publisher Petro Volyniak in 1947 in a separate publication of the February issue of the weekly summarizes the third year of activity, providing statistics on the publication of periodicals, books, postcards, calendars, various small format materials. The analyzed material demonstrated the experience of combining creative work and commercial activity.
