Abstract:

Abstract:
ABSTRACTAlthough often seen as a medieval rival to French, Picard has received far less official recognition and support than more celebrated regional languages such as Breton or Occitan. A shared history and high degree of linguistic similarity with the national language appear to have engendered a perception that it is simply ‘bad French’, but for supporters such Eloy (1997) Picard remains potentiellement une vraie langue, worthy and in need of status enhancement initiatives enjoyed by other regional languages. Promotion of language status for Picard, however, is found to be fraught with practical difficulties, not least of which are a lack of territorial unity and major cultural differences between the north and south of the picardophone area. Equally importantly, the discourse of languagehood fosters notions of linguistic purity which ignore the extensive mixing of local, supralocal and national elements that has always been evident in Picard writing and speech. This in turn engenders linguistic insecurity, notably among urban working-class speakers, whose speech can all too easily be caricatured as both ‘bad French’ and ‘bad patois’, with obvious consequences for intergenerational transmission. The well-intentioned promotion of Picard as a regional language may therefore, perversely, be detrimental to the very varieties it serves.

Abstract:
This thesis explores the construction of symmetric cryptography primitives. We reach better constructions than that of the literature, we a focus on the reduction of implementation costs. We study three types of primitives: block ciphers, which are the most commonly used in symmetric cryptography, a stream cipher designed for a specific application and a message authentication algorithm. We reduce the costs of the two main components of block ciphers: S-boxes and diffusion matrices. Feistel and MISTY-like structures appear to be a good choice to design secure S-boxes at a low cost, and lead us to new S-boxes with the best known trade-off between security and implementation cost. We also study the Butterfly structure which yields S-boxes with an excellent security. As for diffusion matrices, we develop an algorithm to look for formal matrices in a polynomial ring, then we instantiate its outputs to obtain matrices which are optimal in terms of diffusion at a lower cost than those of the literature. We also identify a weakness in the stream cipher FLIP, designed to fit some very specific cost constraints. We show that FLIP requires a different analysis than other stream ciphers and deduce from it an attack, which led to an update in FLIP to get a more resilient cipher. Finally, we study MAC algorithms, which are used to authenticate messages. Combining works from the literature, we build a MAC which is less costly than those used in practice with an equivalent security, aiming at an implementation on 32-bit micro-controllers

This work uses french semiotics to analyse the TV series Breaking bad, transmited between 2008 and 2013 on AMC channel in the United States. Identified as part of the so called new american TV “Golden age”, the series created by Vince Gilligan features an inventive narrative that was equally accepted by the audience and TV critics, with its protagonist, Walter White, as the greatest cause of its success. In this work, the narrative and discoursive levels of Algirdas Greimas’ generative meaning trajectory are used to follow which strategies are used in this audiovisual work. In special, we propose a study about the protagonist’s passions and the values that are displayed through the articulation between verbal and visual recourses

Abstract:
This research aims to analyze, through ethnographic inquiry, the phenomenon of qualification of the "African objects" as well as the personal and institutional problems that justify their appropriation and appreciation. Based on a field survey conducted in France and Mali, the study seeks to identify the spectrum of individual and collective practices that are organized around and with these productions. Europeans or Africans, amateurs, collectors, carvers, tourists and merchants, a multiplicity of individual actors, sometimes coming from areas totally strangers to each other, revolve around this object class and consider them from various perspectives. Based on a dynamic approach and on a historical viewpoint to draw a symmetrical anthropology of these objects - symmetry Africa/West, objects/people, expert/layperson - the goal is to build an observation framework which allows to respect the diversity of appropriation forms of these material productions. In other words, this work wants to analyze the physical, semantic or conceptual transformations which objects are subject for their circulation and because of their transit between geographical areas, national cultures and different economic worlds. The observation of socio-technical devices on which lean on the tastes, practices and worldviews of these actors allows to identify the stakes that unite them or divide them

In this dissertation we focus on the investigation about the bad based on the book VII of the Saint Augustine’s confessions, how to bad became a problem to Saint Augustine and how he searched a resolution for that was distressing for his life. The tipology was to discursivs, bibliographical research, from the lifting of antimanichaeism works of Saint Augustine. The bishop of Hippo researched the several philosophical and religious streams, the Neoplatonism and Manichaeism. However, the answers that these streams gave to the bad problematic weren’t enough to the unquiet mind of the Hipponense. This way, the main problem that was investigated in this dissertation is the conducting wire of the Augustine’s thoughts about his difficult in to accept the bad nature and its source. Because of this, the base of our investigation is the referred book VII of Augustine’s confessions. We listed what influenced the Hiponense to involve wit this subject, that is, what meaning of his life instigated him to involve and to think about the problem of the bad and, consequently, to try give an answer that exempts God to be the source of the bad. What elements made him to think and establish the Jewish- Christian like the only ontological principle that have countered the Manichaean duality. And, consequently, what’s the function that wish plays on the human actions. Our research was structured in three moments:in the first, we make a contextualization of the social, historical, and philosophical ambit of the work Saint Augustine’s confessions; in the second moment, we present the augustine’s mishap looking for the answer to the problem of bad;and, finally, we discuss specifically about theproblem of the bad in Augustine.

Abstract:
This study addresses the link between adolescents and new audiovisual series. The questions raised about the theme came from listening to young students who sought psychological care in a student assistance sector of a Federal Institute of Education. This research is based on the bet that the study of these cultural productions may allow us to know a little more about these young people that access them. To delimit the research object, only one of these series was chosen: Breaking Bad. It drew attention because of its appeal to the public, as well as for its plot that points to a certain malaise, unusual for the series usually accessed by adolescents until recently. Due to this, alongside working with the concept of Adolescence (understood here, according to the presuppositions of psychoanalytic theory, as a psychic operation, a period of recapitulation, an afterwards the mirror stage), there is a theoretical articulation with the Freudian concept of Malaise in culture. Also, as a methodological reference for the analysis of the work, we use studies that establish dialogues between Psychoanalysis and Cinema, conceiving Cinema as language and taking the cinematographic work as filmic text. Thus, although some articulations about the narrative are made, we prioritized the analysis of the operations through which filmic signs refer to each other, provoking effects of meaning. For this analysis fragments of the Pilot Episode of Breaking Bad were used in its possible associations to other scenes from other episodes. Finally, this analysis looks at film elements that stood out during the series and how they make it possible to think about the malaise in the culture and the subject of the contemporary adolescence. Those reflections highlight the spatial and temporal dimensions, which are profusely explored through formal resources present in the work and allow various points of dialogue with the theme of adolescence. It is also observed that, according to the approach given to some scenes, these appear to be able to evoke the issue of malaise (here understood as topological, mark of a place, something of the spatial order), which is already widely present in narrative aspects of the series. Thus, we bring a discussion that reveals some interweaving between Breaking Bad, Malaise in Culture and Adolescence.

This study proposes a research about teacher malaise, including it as part of a larger social and cultural phenomenon present in all contemporary western society, but that wins peculiar characteristics in the practice of teaching. Specifically, the study has as its object of investigation the malaise of high school teachers of Uberlândia-MG, seeking to answer to the research problem, and thus understand the reasons of the malaise of this group of teachers. Therefore, it was held, in addition to bibliographical research about the topic, empirical research with a qualitative approach, which relied on data from oral sources. From the interviews, we seek to give voice to the anguish that reaches teachers in professional practice, trying to understand what is found behind the typical symptoms of malaise teaching, such as apathy, discouragement, frustration, physical and psychological diseases, and other issues discussed on the script. We also seek to shed light the context of career choice, the practice of teaching and historically constructed representations of teaching. In this study, we worked with two theoretical approaches to understand the reasons of the malaise: the psychoanalysis, of Freud, and the philosophy, of Nietzsche. Besides the classic texts of the authors, we based ourselves on texts by contemporary authors, descendants of these theoretical perspectives. The referential of Freud gives us a historical and structural analysis of the malaise in humanity; while Nietzsche enables us a culturalist view of some phenomena that are shown associated with that anguish that affects many teachers. We verified that some reasons of the malaise in high school are associated to failures of the educational process as operator of interdiction of students; the degenerescence and depreciation of some values in the educational field, more specifically the values of social recognition, teacher authority, and social ascension values attributed for education, and the "place mater" of knowledge attributed to the school. These failures characterize a nihilistic experience in the Nietzschean vision of sense of orphanhood, arising from the debacle of values that guided the magisterium, besides a complex movement of self-harm and inverted valuations , interpreted as action of bad conscience. All these factors are shown up as result of impasses constituted in community living and in the regulations that seek to regulate it, being these norms conceived as a state of civilization, morality, or simply as social ethics. The research results indicate the state of passivity and hopelessness of some teachers front of these issues. Having analyzed the reasons for the malaise, the research concludes that a overrun of this state of passivity requires the decoupling of the discourse that puts the teacher as a hostage and victim of these dilemmas. The study shows, for these teachers, the need for the exercise of their desire to potency, human power affirmative. It also postulates the importance of reinventing a new ethic school that reconciles the cultural and social changes of contemporaneity to the requirements for maintenance of community life with fewer conflicts

Abstract:
This comparative research - in France and Poland - was conducted in Lyon and Cracow. The purpose of the work is social tourism for children, more specifically the “discovery classes” in France and the “green schools” in Poland, the school trips constituting both a life experience and a time of collective education. The object of the research is primary schools. The work is part of a broader problem of the acquisition of geographical knowledge. The subject of the research mobilizes the field of tourism since the practices that stem from it are ways and means of appropriation of space that individuals implement in the construction of representations of space. Through experience, the individual constructs an interior model of his or her environment. This research project studies the modalities of spatial learning. The objective is to understand if the experience of school trips modifies children’s spatial representations. To ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to build their own spatial capital, research also examines the influence on their representations of previous spatial mobility. In order to examine the children’s spatial representations, both discursive (questionnaires) and graphics data (mental maps) are mobilized. The research, carried out with 192 pupils in Lyon and Cracow, is related to two disciplines, geography and psychology. It is supported by the postulate of spatial representations within the framework of the paradigm of spatial production. The work is part of an approach to geography, in which the “espace vécu” is the central preoccupation

Abstract:
The Norandino pipeline, build between 1998 and 1999, begins at the town of Pichanal nearby Orán in Argentina where it is connected to Argentinean Gas Transport System, It runs towards west crossing the Yunga in Salta province, climbs the Sierras Subandinas and the Cordillera Oriental through highly erosive environment, descends to Humahuaca city in Jujuy Province, crosses the Altiplano plateau, and reaches Chile through Paso de Jama then climbs up to 4.980 mas, crosses the Atacama desert to finally arrives at Tocopilla, Mejillones and Coloso cities. With 1070 km long and 20″ diameter, it’s capable to carry 4,6 million cubic meters per day expandable up to 8. The most hazardous part of the alignment is the Sierras Subandinas area, due mainly to geology and heavy rains. The east slope of the Cordillera Oriental, where the risk arises from the intense geodynamic and strong erosions in river crossings and landslides because of heavy rains that reach 1.500mm in four month, from December to March. In Cuesta de Mal Paso site, in front of San Andrés village in Salta Province, the pipeline should be laid along the hillside on a slope formed by the anticline limb, whose exposure to heavy erosion of the San Andres river at the base of the slope, the bedding to the river and seismic conditions of the region, constitute a geological and geotechnical risk to the pipeline integrity. The evaluation of deformation measurements of the slope, measured along several years, provided the necessary arguments to undertake the construction of tunnel in rock of 750 meters long and 2.5 meters wide and high, allowing the pipeline to pass below the main slip surface and therefore protecting it from a possible slide of the superficial layers of the slope. This paper describes the geological conditions, the geostructural situation of Cuesta de Mal Paso, the deformation monitoring system, the evaluation of the auscultation measurements, the design of the tunnel, the meaningful geological and geotechnical aspects of the tunnel construction and, finally, criteria for definition the auscultation system to monitoring the behavior of the tunnel and the Cuesta de Mal Paso slope.
