Abstract:
Malaria is an infection caused by protozoa of the genus Plasmodium, commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. Plasmodium falciparum causes the most severe form of the disease and may progress to life-threatening manifestations. This case describes a 26-year-old man who suffered cerebral malaria with multiple organ dysfunction and successfully recovered despite poor initial prognosis. Negligent and late diagnosis of malaria leads to severe complications and a worse prognosis. This case emphasizes despite living in a low-endemic malaria area, physicians should remain meticulo

A correct diagnosis is the basis for a correct treatment. In clinical practice, it happens sometimes that the diagnosis seems in no doubt. However, experience shows that misdiagnosis is not uncommon. Although malaria is endemic in India, congenital malaria is not very common. Congenital malaria is a very rare condition in both endemic and nonendemic areas. We report a case of congenital malaria in a six-day-old neonate with fever and splenomegaly. The diagnosis was picked up accidentally on a peripheral smear examination. Congenital malaria should be kept as differential diagnosis of neonatal sepsis. Timely detection of this condition could lead to early diagnosis and treatment, thereby preventing neonatal mortality.

The clinical features of COVID-19 and malaria are interrelated. Due to the similarity of symptoms between the two disease states, patients can be incorrectly diagnosed with the other ailment in areas with limited health resources. There is a dearth of knowledge of co-infection between COVID-19 and malaria from healthcare providers’ perspective. Hence, this study assessed the ability of primary healthcare workers to diagnose malaria infection correctly from COVID-19 infection. Parasitic infections make up a small but important subset of central nervous system (CNS) infections. Although necessary to be considered in the comprehensive differential diagnosis for patients presenting with suspected neurologic infections, these conditions are particularly important in regions where parasitic infections are endemic and for immunocompromised patients. Among the most common parasitic infections of the CNS are neurocysticercosis, echinococcosis (hydatid cyst), toxoplasmosis, amebic meningoencephalitis, and cerebral malaria.

Abstract Malaysia's oil and gas fields are often characterized by multiple stacked reservoirs. This complexity is due to the region's diverse geological history, which includes various sedimentary processes and tectonic activities. The reservoirs can vary significantly in terms of depth, pressure, and fluid characteristics, requiring advanced exploration and production techniques to effectively manage and extract hydrocarbons. To improve recovery in multi-stack reservoirs, secondary recovery is required. For efficient waterflooding and recovery management, multizone completions with isolated z
