Analysis of canine and feline tumor malignancy data can help clinicians identify high-risk patients and make more accurate decisions. Based on a sample of 16,272 cancer records, including 3266 cats and 13,006 dogs, collected from January 2019 to December 2021 in the Vet-OncoNet Network database, this study aimed to compare the tumor malignancy profile between cats and dogs, considering animal-related factors (sex, age, and breed), topography, and geographic location using a mixed-effects logistic regression model. A case of presumed malignant transformation in a lateral ventricular epidermoid cyst is described, in which squamous cell carcinoma arose 33 years after the surgical resection of a benign epidermoid cyst. Three years after diagnosis of malignancy, the patient remains functional with a slowly invasive tumor. This case provides a rare description of the natural history of forebrain squamous cell carcinoma, which would appear to be a more indolent tumor than previously realized.

Abstract:
Elastic scattering or spectroscopy offers the possibility of distinguishing between cancerous and noncancerous tissue in suspicious breast lumps with a relatively simple optical measurement. The measurement of the relative reflection of light has previously been shown to be sensitive to both the size and distribution of intra and intercellular structures as well as absorption from chromophores present in the tissue. Coupling a white tight source and spectrometer to optic fibres makes it possible to construct probes that can be inserted through the skin or used during the operation or on excise

Abstract Interstitial thermal therapy heats tissues to temperatures exceeding 50°C for a period of seconds to minutes. This technique is currently being investigated as an autonomous therapeutic option for the treatment of benign and malignant diseases at different sites in the body including the prostate, uterine fibroid, kidney and liver (Diller and Ryan, 1998). Some of the interstitial heating techniques that are being studied are microwave, ultrasound (US) and laser. The predominant mechanism of heating associated with each of these techniques appears to be different, i.e. microwave heatin

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most incident neoplasia among Brazilian women. According to immunogenetic characteristics, it is possible to verify that malignant breast neoplasms with greater biological activity would be those classified as luminary B, HER2+ and triple-negative, and that the one with the lowest biological activity would be the luminal subtype A. Thus, a mammography would be more likely to detect cancers with a low degree of biological characteristics such as “luminal A”. On the other hand, mammary carcinomas with greater potential for systemic dissemination show faster gro
