Dessertine, Anna. "Présence imminentes : mobilités et production des espaces dans un village malinké de Guinée." Thesis, Paris 10, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016PA100072.
Full textThis thesis on the production of domestic and village spaces in a rural setting, is based on more than eighteen months of ethnographic fieldwork in the Malinke village of Guirlan in northeastern Guinea. It explores the interplay of space, mobility and social relationship, notably in the course of the inhabitants’ daily practices. The central object of this study is the residence (lu), whose topocentric organization is held to be determinate in the construction of social relations. The analysis itself also spatially grounded. Beginning in the central courtyards where authority is enacted, it moves out to the periphery of domestic areas, and then beyond the village itself. Gold mines, resulting from an intensification of mining in the region since 1980-1990, are seen as relatively autonomous spaces governed by rules of their own. On the other hand, more prolonged installations of migrants in cities further away are envisaged as extensions of their home residences that allow for the mobility of some of their members. All these cases deal with the issues of presence and the temporalities of absence. While certain short-range displacements, such as the accompaniment of a wife to her husband’s residence, are analyzed as ruptures or breaches, other more distant ones consist in an absence conceived as presence-to-come. By focusing on spatial practices, this study is directly concerned with the problem of social acknowledgement and its visibilization in daily life

Full textThe text and the writing of Ahamadou Kourouma and Patrick Chamoiseau are the result of bilinguism. The encounter between malinke and creole on one hand and french on the other hand reveals all the richness of the authors language. They want to express their own identity through their speech. They also assert that they can create a new french language. That is why we used the semiotic and sociolinguistic approaches to intend to show all creativity of these authors

Full textFar from the oecumenical celebration and the negritudian idealization of pre-colonial africa on the one hand, and the worship of formal franch language made from writers of his generation on the other hand, kourouma elaborates a new and deliberately inconoclastic and novelistic aesthetics in his novels. Half-way between oral tradition and classical novel writing, kouroumian aesthetics is embeded in an enunciative problematic. If the ultimate goal of this study is the expression of high degree, our approch is double-sided : showing the influence of oral tradition on the novelist's writing through his excessive use of hyperbole in the narration ; showing, by the description of linguistic expressiveness mechanism, in general, how the essential concern of the quest for a discursive credibility is solved. Among other subjects, we deal here with the frame of kouroumian aesthetics, that is, the problem of linguistic interferences and peculiarities, the problem of synonyms, polysemy and lexical creation. Un other words, without pretending to be exhaustive, this linguistic and semantic study intends to answer the questions of expressive and affective syntax, of grammar and, above all, of psychological and socio-cultural conditions of enunciation

Full textMakinke is a mandelanguage spoken by about 25% of the population of guinea. It is a tone language with a phonological system of 7 vowels and 23 consonants. This dissertation examines the most significant features of malinke morphosyntax, some of which are typologically remarkable : word order ; multifunctionality of lexemes and consequently no strict compartmentalization between lexical classes ; polyvalent verbal categories ; lack of strictly speaking reflexive, impersonal or passive forms ; a prominent verbnoun opposition with a plurifunctional np vs. An exclusively predicative vp ; verbo-nominal status of adjectives ; heterogeneousness of the adverbial category

Full textThis thesis is assigned, as the terms and conditions of research to define specific modes of appearance and operation of the epic in the historical Chronicle and the songs of exaltation in honour of Emperor Bakari II, represented as the "discoverer" of America before Columbus. The text is a bilingual version consisting of a transcript in Mandinka language and a French translation. Singing its achievements, the griot is the praise of the heroic qualities of the character and nature of the emotions aroused by his daring to go to the onslaught of the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. A text that presents itself as a simple appearance, epic intonation is assigned to it even though it can be called 'neo epic’. Certainly the epic was necessary with regard to the choice of an aesthetic of orality that allows to establish 'unadorned' history, the heroic and wonderful deeds. We have here, the definition of epic registry and noble style associated with it in the rhetoric, which is followed by the work. First of all, we have tried to look on the Foundation of the Mande, from the origins to the advent of Sundiata Keita, founder of the empire and the social composition and the political organization of the Mali Empire. This thesis confirms, along with other ethnographic studies, that medieval Mandingo society is organized around three poles strongly hierarchical, endogamous and specialised: the horon, the nyamakala and the jon. Before transcribing malinke language, then translate them into French songs-rhythms of praise of Fa Bukari, we revisited Maghan Sundiata epic cycle which is accompanied by the Chronicle of the Emperor of Mali, Aboubakari II. To conclude, we discussed stylistic and semantic properties that revolve around the figure of the epic poet, poetry form, epic speech, the special rhythmic of epic speech, without concealing the prospects of many research that open in the field of oral literature, in general and the epic of Bakari II, in particular that contains an entire domain to explore

Full textBehind the game of fiction and the alchemy of a new language, our research aims at defining a mere proceeding of discourse destructuration, together with a restructuration of the person. Our analysis is based on three novels in the Algerian Francophone women's literature of the second part of the twentieth century : "So Vast the prison" by Assia Djebar, "N'zid" by Malika Mokeddem and "Forbidden vision" by Nina Bouraoui. Our first goal is to demonstrate how these three works are linked in the fashion of writing relays, indicating an evolution from one narrative to the other, which reveals, behind words, an immediate subjacent discourse, going along with the story within its own logic. Our next step is to question the functioning of language and the foundations of writing, so as to study, through the prism of psychoanalysis, the secret stratagem of the language games, which brings to light unconscious mechanisms of writing. The scripturary adventure is the revealer of self-building at work and discloses the achievement of progress for the literary, creative, feminine consciousness, thus establishing the Algerian francophone female writer in a new personal and social statute of "the women with a book"

Full textBlueberry and raspberry pomace, by-products from fruit juice industry, were processed into the new food ingredients by drying and grinding. The obtained functional ingredients are characterized by high content of dietary fibres and essential fatty acids (linoleic and α-linolenic acid), as well as by optimal ratio of PUFA/SFA. The main macronutrients in dried and ground pomace are K, Mg and Ca. The content of total phenolic compounds, anthocyanins and flavonoids were determined, as well as composition and content of individual phenolic compounds using LC/MS-MS in order to evaluate their antioxidant potential. In the form of dried powder, blueberry and raspberry pomace were used as ingredients in formulation of gluten-free cookies. Response surface methodology (RSM) approach was applied to obtain optimal ingredients proportion. Formulation in which gluten-free flour mixture is substituted with 28.2% of the blueberry and 1.8% of the raspberry pomace was found to be optimal following the used optimization criteria. Addition of blueberry and raspberry pomace has led to a remarkable improvement in nutritional properties, and resulted in a product with similar nutritional profile with commercially available gluten containing cookies.Dietary intervention study on a group of 20 healthy, normal weight female subjects was conducted to investigate the health effect of the created gluten-free cookies. The results showed a significant reduction in levels of LDL cholesterol, and an increase in plasma concentrations of adiponectin, suggesting a potential positive effect of the created product on human health.

Full textThis dissertation aims to demonstrate not only how African novelists in 1980-1990 promoted the image of the new African woman by continuing the feminist demands of their predecessors, but also, and foremost, to describe the pattern of their discourse, which was characterized predominantly by aesthetics of subversion of linguistic norms. This linguistic defiance mirrors their fight to invent the New African Woman, who throws off the shackles of tradition and opens herself up to universality. The corpus is composed primarily of autobiographical novelistic works by three writers who represent two geocultural macrospaces: the sub-Saharan Africa of C. Beyala and Ken Bugul, and the Maghreb of Malika Mokeddem. This study seeks, drawing on the linguistics of discourse as initiated by H. Weinrich and enriched by J. -M. Adam, D. Maingueneau, and A. Viala, to present how these creative female artists reconcile the feminine problem with the challenge of African development in such a way as to expeditiously contribute to new visibility for African literature. Transversal reading thus reveals a new place for the African woman, who is embodied in the creative space by the new woman writer participating in sociopolitical and cultural battles in order to advance a society in evolution into a promising future. The hypothesis of over-reading women’s literary works as the monotonous expression of the feminine condition is supported; the dissertation contributes, in particular, to a rehabilitation of feminine literature that has been undermined by criticism that has limited itself solely to descriptive and thematic aspects

Full textThe problematic of this thesis lies at the crossroads of postcolonialism and postmodernism. Investigating the poetics of six autobiographies unveils the literary strategies the writers deploy to accommodate into their writing both an experience of violence and resistance against it. An analysis of the thematics and textual functioning of the texts reveals how they transform, through textual violence, an identity inherited from colonial and patriarchal discourses in order to construct a new subjectivity that escapes existing power relations. This research, through its evaluation of the oppositional force of this intrinsically postmodern corpus, enacts a rapprochement between postcolonial and postmodern theories. The nomadic writers deterritorialise inherited ethnic and sexual identities, creating for themselves Deleuzian lines of flight towards a new conception of identity anchored in a community of origin and in female memory: the identity of a subject group, invested with becoming

Full textThis work examined the chemical composition, the antioxidant, antihyperglycaemic, antiproliferative and antimicrobialactivity of the freeze-dried raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.)varieties Meeker (ETMM) and Willamette (ETMW), blackberry(Rubus fruticosus L.) varieties (ETKČ) and Thornfree(ETKT), and wild blueberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) (ETB)pomaces methanol extracts. The content of total polyphenols(TPh), total flavonoids (TF) and total anthocyanins (TAc) inthe pomace extracts were determined spectrophotometrically.Identification and quantification of the phenolic compounds(phenol acids, flavonols and cyanidins) and ascorbic acid inthe pomace extracts was performed by HPLC analysis. Theantioxidant activities of the extracts was determined spectrophotometricallyusing DPPH and ABTS+ free radicals andreducing ability assay. ESR spectroscopy is used for determinationof pomace extracts’ influence on reactive hydroxyland superoxide anion radicals. Antihyperglycaemic activity ofthe pomace extracts was determined using α-glucosidase inhibitionassay. The antiproliferative activity of the pomace extractswas tested in vitro, testing their influence on the growthof four histologically different human tumor cells: HeLa(cervix epithelioid carcinoma), MCF7 (breast adenocarcinoma),HT-29 (colon adenocarcinoma) and MRC-5(human fetallung fibroblasts). Antimicrobial activity of berry pomace extracts was tested on selected strains of Gram-positive andGram-negative bacteria, yeasts and molds with the disc diffusionmethod and the method of “wells”. The possibility offreeze dried berry pomace extracts application as a fruit functionaladditive was investigated as well. Laboratory producedenriched juice was tested in terms of TPH, TF and TAc content, reducing ability and DPPH scavenging ability as well. The results of testing the chemical composition, the antioxidative, antihyperglycaemic, antiproliferative and antimicrobialactivities of ETMM, ETMW, ETKČ, ETKT and ETB, indicatethat all investigated pomace extracts are a potential source ofnatural bioactive compounds, and that the antioxidant activityenriched juice indicates the possibility of using these extracts,as a functional additive in the production of various high-valuefood products.
