Abstract:
Line Webtoon is one of the media used by South Korea in spreading Hallyu Wave. It has driven the views or opinions of the South Korean culture through manhwa (Korean Comic) called "Noblesse" in the application Line Webtoon using Comic Theory from Scott McCloud. The analysis of case studies on the Noblesse manhwa showed that opinions were presented and exhanged related to the characters, the messages being conveyed, and reader's expectations about in the manhwa. The readers' enthusiasm for this manhwa has made Noblesse one of the most favored manhwas. The implications of this research led to the intercultural communication associated with the comic elements in this manhwa.

Abstract:
Korean comics (K-manhwa), the next wave “quietly” following the wave of Korean popular culture of K-Movie, K-pop, K-fashion, K-cuisine that are so-called Hallyu, is widely adopted by Vietnamese youth. This paper focuses on the current situation of Korean comics, especially Sunjeongmanhwa (Girls' comic) that is being introduced into Vietnam, enjoying the adoption of Vietnamese youth. In comparison with the case of Japanese manga, Chinese manhua and Chinese love stories, this paper analyzes the impact of this wave on the youth of Vietnam. Simultaneously, this paper introduces some experiences of Korean comics industry in the expectation that it will provide an objective view on K-manhwa and Korean culture in general, as well as coming up with some suggestions for Vietnam comics development.

Abstract:
When translating Korean literature, we often come across words and phrases that might not have a direct equivalent in the target language. One of the most difficult genres to translate is, in our opinion, the comic, or the manhwa. We try to offer illustrative examples of translation from the source language, which is Korean, into the target language, which is English, with emphasis on translating words and phrases that might pose problems, such as culture-bound words, names of places, and characters. We will also discuss other linguistic phenomena that are common to graphic novels, such as mots expresifs, onomatopoeia, charactonyms, also tackling issues regarding historical references, cultural references, behavior, and customs pertaining to the source, but also a target, social groups. The reason why we are focusing on translating manhwa2 is the fact that it has started to become more and more popular in other cultures/countries. We chose the manhwa called 신과 함께 (Along with the Gods), as it is one of the most popular of its kind, and it is one that intertwines Korean folklore, tradition, history, and mythical creatures with contemporaneity.

Abstract:
In comparison to Korea’s other cultural industries, manhwa 만화 has shown a lagged development. As a result, the Korean government has recently shown interest in this industry and begun to support it. However, the fundamental reasons for the lagged development of manhwa should be carefully scrutinized in order to make promotion policies and support more effective and thus to achieve further development and advancement of the manhwa industry. This article seeks to address this issue and argues that the core problem is derived from a negative view toward manhwa as it has been considered to be harmful to Korean society and, hence, not acknowledged as a part of culture. Therefore, this paper takes a historical approach to track down how this negative view formed and why it has prevailed in Korea. To this end, political and economic changes related to the manhwa industry are analyzed with a focus on production and consumption. The paper reveals that it was not only coercive public policies but also a lack of production capacity that induced a distorted view toward manhwa and caused the development of the industry to lag. Where business strategies have been adopted in an improved business environment, this has helped to enhance production to achieve better outcomes and change the view of consumers toward manhwa, resulting in an increase in consumption.

Abstract:
Manhwa as an authentic material is explored here as a source of extralinguistic information helping to form the background knowledge of Russian-speaking students while teaching the Korean language. At the same time, manhwa is a poly-code source consisting of text and visual components. Study of the relevant sources showed that due to their special structural organization and functionality, manhwa have a number of advantages for the effective assimilation of non-linguistic information by students. It is argued that students faster penetrate the extralinguistic information through the manhwa that promotes awareness of a specific situation of communication and understanding. It is shown that extralinguistic information is contained in a verbal component, such as the author's words in the frame, describing, for example, the place of communication or the mood of the characters. Also it may be contained in the characters' lines in the phylacter, when situationally and communicatively conditioned speech is clearly transmitted. It is stated that the association of the verbal component with specific communication conditions, that form the parameters of the communicative situation in Korean, is carried out at the expense of the visual component. At the same time, the image shows a manhwa character speaking Korean as a participant of communication, outwardly corresponding to his situational role, while emotional form of communication is transmitted through the body language. Characters are depicted in a certain body position, with a drawn facial expression indicating a certain emotional state, which is traditionally an important point in understanding what is happening in the Korean context. The author concludes that other paralinguistic means also convey emotionality in manhwa, namely: 1) caption, 2) phylacter form, 3) color and graphic phylacter filling, 4) sound effects, 5) background effects, 6) tone effects, 7) screen tone.

Because of internet and smartphones, various industries and their products have changed. Comics as one form of the reading industry also experienced this impact. Conventional comics are changing into digital comics, which can be read via cellphones. One of the digital comic services is LINE Webtoon, which has successfully become a popular comic application in various countries, including Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview, deepen and develop the concept of Webtoon, especially LINE Webtoon. This research using qualitative descriptive as method. The results showed that the Webtoon was developed from a conventional form of comics in South Korea called manhwa. Manhwa change into digital because the decline of conventional comic market and technological advancements that developed in South Korea. As an industry, LINE Webtoon expanded its business with presenting paid content, creating advertisements, looking for talented comics, and adapting across media to popular Webtoon works.

This article describes such modern formats of literary and graphic genres as manga and comics (including ranobe, manhwa, and manhua). Graphic novels are currently relevant all over the world, especially among young people. Graphic novels of this type are actively promoted in the mass media and pop culture. These picture books received the attention and adaptation not only of small film studios and book publishers, but also of the cinematic giant – Hollywood. Due to the interest of the younger generation in the format of comics, this genre can be used to promote ethnocultural traditions in the education and education of the younger generation with an orientation on the national characteristics of the country and the values ​ ​ of Kazakh art and culture. Such an axiological dialogue of the culture of near and far ethnic systems will certainly contribute to the development of interest in national heritage, since the conversation will be conducted in an accessible language of images and in the original presentation using modern graphic formats and genres.

La bande dessinée coréenne (manhwa) est « animée » par l’omniprésence d’iconotermes imitant non seulement des sons (onomatopées), mais aussi des mouvements qui peuvent être tant physiques (gestes, mimiques, déplacements) que sensoriels ou psychiques (émotions, états d’âme), ou qui peuvent suggérer un aspect, une texture. Elle prend ainsi une dimension à la fois sonore, cinétique, voire émotionnelle. Face à ces idéophones, plusieurs stratégies s’offrent aux traducteurs : outre l’omission pure et simple, communément pratiquée, et la transcription phonétique en lettres latines, souvent opaque, certains leur substituent un mot ou un syntagme ; le rendu est alors trop sémantique et explicite. Le recours à un iconoterme (souvent une onomatopée) permet de restituer de manière plus suggestive et imagée, au-delà du sens, toute la force expressive ou iconique de l’idéophone d’origine, activant ainsi en sourdine l’imagination sonore, voire visuelle et émotionnelle, du lecteur-déchiffreur dans un environnement du tout-à-l’image. Or, c’est là une des spécificités, un des attraits du manhwa et de ses idéophones. Lorsque ces stratégies ne suffisent pas, la solution que nous proposons est le simple report si l’on « dessine » le sens, l’évoquant par sa disposition graphique (calligrammes).

Boys’ love adalah aliran fiksi yang memperlihatkan hubungan romantis atau seksual antara dua laki-laki, dan Fujoshi adalah seorang perempuan yang memiliki ketertarikan terhadap konsumsi media boys’ love. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor utama yang mempengaruhi seorang fujoshi di Indonesia mulai mengonsumsi media boys love dengan metode kualitatif berdasarkan sembilan faktor yang telah diuji dalam the Yaoi Consumption Motives Questionnaire (YCMQ). Terdapat 10 informan yang memenuhi kriteria sebagai Aca-fans yang berpatisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, sembilan motif tersebut dikelompokkan ke dalam tiga kelompok faktor dalam memberikan pengaruh terhadap perempuan di Indonesia dari mulai awal mengenal konten boys’ love sampai menjadi seorang Fujoshi.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemanfaatan webtoon sebagai media adaptasi dari komik cetak, menganalisis efek webtoon sebagai Gelombang Korea terhadap masyarakat, dan mengetahui fenomena yang tercipta di Indonesia seiring perkembangan industri webtoon. Metode penelitian ini adalah Systematic Qualitative Literature Reviewdan dianalisis berdasarkan PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). Pada penelitian ini ditemukan hasil bahwa posisi webtoon sebagai industri serta pemanfaatannya dibuktikan cukup efektif dan menjanjikan pada berbagai bidang. Dimulai dari produksi, distribusi, konsumsi, bahkan model bisnis yang baru dan inovatif menjadikan webtoonsebagai contoh sukses dari peralihan analog ke digital, termasuk di Indonesia.

Background: Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) lack sufficient language and writing abilities and experience delays in the development of their social activities. Thus, this study aimed at determining the effects of children’s pedagogical songs on the development of social as well as writing and speaking abilities in children with ASD. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test, post-test and a control group design. The study sample consisted of 30 children aged 8-10 years with ASD referring to the Welfare Organization in 2018. The necessary data were collected by the Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS) and the Test of Language Development (TOLD). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics as well as Multivariate Analysis of Covariance (MANCOVA) and one-way Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) in Manhwa Text using SPSS. Results: The present research results suggested that rhythmic poetry training was effective on the development of social activities (P<0.01), linguistic skills (P<0.01), and writing abilities (P<0.05) in the explored subjects. Conclusion: Based on the obtained results, poetry therapy increased using appropriate language skills, social skills, and written activities in children with ASD. We suggest implementing this method, as an effective intervention, in schools, health centers, and speech therapy centers for children with ASD.

Grasslands Manawa, Moata and Tama are greenfeed crops. Manawa is a perennial x Italian hybrid, also known as 'short-rotation ryegrass'. Moata is a tetraploid Italian ryegrass and Tama is a tetraploid Westerwolds Italian ryegrass (i.e., it is an extreme annual type). About 1500 ha of these three were entered for certification in the 1987/88 season; twice as much Moata was sown as Manawa and Tama. Yields of l$OO kg ha-' are achieved by specialist growers in these crops; in theory yields of 2000 kg ha-' should be possible.

<p>Manawa Dharmasastra is one of the books that belong smrti or veda smṛti, namely the interpretation of the text books of revelation (veda sruti). Over all Manawa Dharmasastra is a book that discuss the laws that govern the behavior of religious life, society and the state. The regulations that are in it are still very relevant to be used as a guideline in this present life, especially regarding the laws governing the existence of a woman.</p><p>In connection with the above description, the issues discussed in this study were (1) What is the status of women in Manawa Dharmasastra? (2) How does the role of women in Manawa Dharmasastra? (3) What is the meaning contained in the existence of women in Manawa Dharmasastra? The theory used in this research is the theory of structuralism A.Teeuw. Structuralism theory is used to inspect a work of literature as a whole round and intact. Gender equilibrium theory, this theory is used to dissect the problem formulation status and role of women. According to this theory of women and men have equal footing or balance. This study also used as a hermeneutical theory supporting theory in interpreting the text of Manawa Dharmasastra, which is used to dissect the question of the meaning of existence of women. This study is a qualitative which in collecting the data, researchers used a technique literature studies, engineering studies and documents batat (reading and recording).</p><p>The results of this study is the position of women in Manawa Dharmasastra is aligned with men, in theology Hindu Saguna Brahma it is called ardhanareswari, a woman in the Manawa Dharmasastra must be respected, women in Hindu law is said to be Pṛthivī. The role of women in Manawa Dharmasastra is as a wife and as a mother. And there are three main meanings in the existence of women in Hindu law, namely (1) Meaning Equality, (2) The meaning of harmony, (3) Meaning of Allegiance.</p>

Anak tidak hanya sebagai objek pembangunan, namun sebagai generasi yang sedang dipersiapkan sebagai subjek pelaksana pembangunan berkelanjutan. Anak sebagai pemegang kendali masa depan suatu bangsa, dan negara. Dalam mewujudkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas, maka perlu pembinaan, dan perlindungan secara terus menerus bagi tumbuh kembang anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian hukum normatif. Metode penelitian hukum normatif berkaitan dengan norma hukum pada Kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra. Norma hukum pada Kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra membahas tentang perlindungan pada anak. Berdasarkan atas hal tersebut ada tiga hal penting untuk dibahas, yaitu : 1) perlindungan hukum terhadap anak, 2) perlindungan anak dalam Manawa Dharmaçastra, 3) upaya perlindungan terhadap anak. Anak berhak memperoleh perlindungan. Anak mempunyai Hak Asasi Manusia seperti yang dimiliki orang dewasa. Perlindungan terhadap anak juga terdapat pada Kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra (Manu Dharma Sastra) atau Weda Smṛti Compendium Hukum Hindu. Kelahiran anak merupakan anugerah Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa/ Tuhan. Kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra dapat dijadikan sebagai pedoman bagi orang tua dalam melakukan upacara bagi anak. Upaya perlindungan terhadap anak perlu dilakukan sejak dini. Anak berhak memperoleh perlindungan dari orang tua, keluarga, masyarakat, organisasi sosial, maupun yang lainnya. The function of marriage or wiwaha is an effort to realize the life goals of Grhasta Dormitory. A faithful relationship should last until death, in short it is made as the highest law by husband and wife. In the Manawa Dharmasastra literature, it is explained that marriage is a sacred act (sacrament, samskara), which is an engagement between two parties who fulfill God's commands and suggestions, so that family life and neighboring relatives run well in accordance with Hindu religious teachings. However, nowadays there are still many divorce cases and the cases are increasing every year between the text and the context being discontinuous. If it is handled wisely and wisely through serious and continuous application, especially referring to the values ​​of loyalty, then husband and wife will succeed in improving the quality of their lives in building relationships for the creation of a harmonious family (Hita Graha)). Bali is known for its valuable traditions and customs from pre-Hindu times to the present. Social facts, that the more widespread social problems occur that are not directly proportional to the social and legal rules in the lontar text and customs in Bali. The purpose of this paper is to examine the social norms and legal norms contained in the Manawa swarga text and its context in Balinese society in Klungkung Regency. This paper uses primary data and secondary data, with methods of observation, text search, interviews and literature study. Data analysis techniques, the process of collecting data, classification, display data, interpretation and conclusions. The finding is that there is a relationship between the contents of the Vedic scriptures, Manawadhamasastra, Manawa Swarga, and customary law (awig-awig) in Bali. Each of them describes the Chess of Varna or four classes of professions, which is contained in Ṛgveda: 10.90.12, Manawadharmasastra / Manu Smrtih. Pratamo'dhyayah I.31 Manawa Swarga text article 189. The contents of the Manawa Swarga text are still relevant to current social phenomena, specifically regarding the homosexual legal norms, hate speech "Adur Welyani" which can strengthen national legal norms.

Adapun metode yang digunakan merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual. Untuk teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi dengan mengacu pada analisa penerapan teori keadilan Aristoteles terhadap pemberlakuan syarat sepihak kontrak baku. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa kontrak baku masuk dalam kategori sumber hukum Acara (Sadacara) dalam Hindu yang tidak boleh bertentangan terhadap Sruti dan Smerti sebagai lex superioirnya. Dalam konteks Smerti kontrak baku masuk dalam bagian Arthasastra, khususnya kelompok Manawa Dharmasastra, sehingga ketentuan dalam Manawa Dharmasastra berlaku juga terhadap kontrak baku seperti ketentuan Pasal 1338 KUH Perdata yang memiliki kesamaan pengaturan dengan Buku VIII Sloka 46 Manawa Dharmasastra, sedangkan ketentuan Pasal 1320 KUH Perdata memiliki kesamaan esensi dengan Buku VIII Manawa Dharmasastra Sloka 143 (mengenai objek/prestasi/jaminan), Sloka 163 (mengenai kecakapan hukum), Sloka 164 (mengenai causa halal), dan Sloka 165 (mengenai kesepakatan). Kompetensi Sumber Daya Manusia dan komitmen organisasi sangat dibutuhkan dalam pengelolaan dana desa agar terkelola dengan baik dan efektif sebagaimana harapan semua pihak. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kompetensi sumber daya manusia dan komitmen organisasi terhadap pengelolaan dana desa Manawa Kecamatan Patilanggio Kabupaten Pohuwato dengan melibatkan 30 orang sebagai responden yang terdiri dari kepala desa dan aparatnya serta masyarakat desa yang memahami tentang efektivitas pengelolaan dana desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis regresi linear berganda. Dimana hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi sumber daya manusia (X1) dan komitmen organisasi (X2) secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan dana desa Manawa Kecamatan Patilanggio Kabupaten Pohuwato (Y), diterima dengan nilai Fhitung sebesar 10,906 > Ftabel sebesar 0,338 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,016 < 0,05. Kompetensi sumber daya manusia (X1) secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan dana desa Manawa Kecamatan Patilanggio Kabupaten Pohuwato (Y), diterima dengan nilai thitung sebesar 2,257 > ttabel sebesar 2,052 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,021 < 0,05. Komitmen organisasi (X2) secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas pengelolaan dana desa Manawa Kecamatan Patilanggio Kabupaten Pohuwato (Y), diterima dengan nilai thitung sebesar 2,115 > ttabel sebesar 2,052 dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,029 < 0,05.

Entre os anos de 1941 e 1955 a Livraria Martins Editora, sediada em São Paulo, publicou a coleção Biblioteca de Literatura Brasileira, constituída por 15 volumes, que se define por publicar escritores consagrados pelo público e pela crítica, com introduções de estudiosos renomados e ter seus exemplares ilustrados por grandes nomes da arte brasileira ou da ilustração profissional. Os livros da coleção apresentam um projeto gráfico que se estrutura a partir de parâmetros clássicos de composição, sob a influência de edições francesas e inglesas. O objetivo deste artigo é identificar – a partir da análise do design dos livros, em específico da mancha tipográfica – como as edições empregam alguns padrões gráficos que permitem atribuir ao conjunto um caráter de coleção. O presente estudo também pretende propor instrumentos de análise para melhor compreender os parâmetros gráficos e editoriais adotados na BLB, bem como para coleções semelhantes.

Metode dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif, dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif interpretatif. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Hermeneutika Hans-Georg Gadamer. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian ini adalah kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra. Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dilakukan, maka dapat diungkap etika brahmacārin dalam tinjauan kompendium hukum Hindu (kitab Manawa Dharmaçastra) sebagai berikut: kewajiban bhakti kepada tuhan dan ācārya; kewajiban berbusana bersih dan mengendalikan indria; kewajiban hidup sederhana; kewajiban mengabdi kepada ācārya; tidak duduk di tempat ācārya; kewajiban mengucapkan salam, penghormatan perkenalan diri; kewajiban menghormati perempuan; kewajiban mengendalikan panca indria; kewajiban berbhakti kepada leluhur dan dewata; berpantang: judi, gosip, bohong, menyakiti, onani/masturbasi, introvert dan seks; kewajiban tidur lebih malam, bangun lebih pagi, makan lebih sedikit dan berpakaian lebih sederhana dari ācārya; menjaga sikap duduk dan sopan santun; pantang menyebut nama guru tanpa gelar kehormatannya; kewajiban menguncarkan mantra suci di waktu subuh dan senja kala; dan kewajiban menghormati ācārya, ayah, ibu dan kakak.

O Barão de Itararé figura entre as mais antológicas criações do jornalista Apparício Torelly (1895-1971) no semanário humorístico A Manha (1926-1959). Por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e da narratologia como método, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a construção hiperbólica do Barão de Itararé, projeção fictícia de Torelly n'A Manha, dispositivo paródico da grande imprensa da época. Em 20 textos selecionados nas mais de 450 narrativas publicadas entre 1926 e 1935, demarca a metamorfose da personagem nos diversos títulos que assumiu (nosso querido diretor, marechal-almirante, Barão, Duque, Grão-Duque e Imperador). Conclui que, nas páginas de A Manha, Torelly vestiu a fantasia de um bufão-mor da cena política brasileira, armando uma contundente sátira aos diversos setores hegemônicos da sociedade de então e suas relações com a imprensa. Na sua obra longeva, o jornalista teceu uma importante matriz da narrativa humorística crítica.

The project at Mandwa was designed to study the problems of health in rural India and the delivery of health care by the existing public and private health systems. The results demonstrate the important role of socioeconomic and political factors not only in vital areas such as nutrition, water supply, sanitation, and housing, but also in the delivery of health services. The private sector showed a predominantly curative and monetary orientation, while the public sector demonstrated a lack of accountability to the people it was designed to serve. Under these conditions, an attempt was made to test the possibility of training local women in self-help with a minimal supportive service. The results reveal that adequate knowledge and technology exist for most of the prevalent problems of health and illness in developing countries, and that semiliterate villagers have the capacity to use these effectively if they are provided in a simple manner. This experiment also demonstrates the opposition from local vested interests to any change of the status quo, even in the relatively noncontroversial field of health.

What is being studied includes the components of learning and the Javanese opera learning process Langen Mandra Wanara. Data were collected using observation techniques, interviews, literature study, and documentation. The research data validation used triangulation techniques. The results showed that (1) Javanese opera learning Langen Mandra Wanara used an integrated art-based learning model between drama, dance, and music; (2) There are support and appreciation from various society levels around it. This effort is a learning for the younger generation and the community in preserving the Javanese opera Langen Mandra Wanara in the Yogyakarta Special Region.Abstrak Penelitian dilandasi pembelajaran opera jawa Langen Mandra Wanara di paguyuban langen mudha mandra budaya di bantul, DIY. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran seni secara deskriptif.
