AbstractFor decades, scholars of religious studies have questioned the anachronism of the category of “religion” for discussing the historical emergence of Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism. Beginning already with Wilfred Cantwell Smith in the 1960s, however, Manichaeism was heralded as an exception to this pattern, and Mani has been understood as perhaps the first to found a new “religion.” This article considers how this model shaped the interpretation of the Cologne Mani Codex (CMC) and offers a fresh reading of its rhetoric of differentiation and identification. It attends to how the CMC frames Mani as a reformer among the Baptists and in continuity with this Baptist past. It ultimately argues that the creators of the CMC did not think of “Manichaeism” as a distinct “religion.” Finally, it aims to recalibrate the study of the Cologne Mani Codex towards broader attempts at situating it within a Syro-Mesopotamian milieu.

Abstract:
Halvön Mani i södra Peloponnesos, Grekland, ligger enbart 50 km från subduktionszonen Hellenic arc. Det medför att aktiva tektoniska processer påverkar geomorfologin. Genom fjärranalys, analys av digital terrängmodell samt genom ett fem dagars fältarbete har en del av södra halvöns geomorfologi studerats. Recenta processer som idag skapar landformer har identifierats. Av dessa är det främst kemisk vittring och tektonik som dominerar. Även relikta landformer studerades för att skapa en komplettare bild över området. Två stycken stenfält upptäcktes på en av uddarna, som troligen skapats innan udden lyfts upp till nivån den befinner sig idag. Ett konglomerat överlagrade kalkstenen i en av vikarna och vittnar om stora massrörelser som skett då markytan även här var lägre än idag. Ett pediment finns på den västra sidan av berget Sagias. Asymmetrin beror troligen på en kombination av tektonik och havsnivåförändringar.<br>The Mani peninsula in the south of Peloponnesos, Greece, is situated only 50 km from the subduction zone of the Hellenic arc. The active, tectonic processes taking place influence the geomorphology of the area. Through the use of remote sensing, analysis of a Digital Terrain Model and a five-day fieldwork study, certain areas of the southern peninsula’s geomorphology were examined for this project including recent processes that create landforms to date. Among those, chemical weathering and tectonics dominate. Also relict landforms were studied to get a greater understanding of the area. Fieldwork resulted in the discovery of two fields of rocks in one of the capes, which most likely were created before the cape underwent uplift to its current level. Also, a conglomerate superimposition of limestone in one of the bays showed indication that great mass movements took place when the surface was lower than today. A pediment is located on the west side of the Sagia Mountain. The asymmetry is probably due to a combination of tectonics and sea level changes.

Le compendium des doctrines et règles de la religion du Bouddha de lumière, Mani, fut rédigé en 731. Passant de la biographie du fondateur à la dogmatique, décrivant les principes du dualisme, dépeignant aussi bien l'Heptateuque de Mani que l'image, présentant les règles ecclésiastiques, la hiérarchie sacerdotale, les disciplines communautaires, ce document fournit donc un exposé complet du manichéisme chinois. Le but poursuivi par le rédacteur du texte a été, de parer sa doctrine de couleurs telles qu'elle put être plus aisément suivie, par une population qu'avaient imprégnée taôisme et bouddhisme. A cette fin, non content d'user d'un vocabulaire tiré de la pensée et de la théologie bouddhiques, il s'est efforce avec succès de faire de Mani le dernier avatar du Bouddha et de Laozi. La compréhension du manichéisme chinois passe avant tout par l'étude du bouddhisme Mahayana, lequel servit de véhicule théologique à la religion manichéenne. C'est ainsi que tel un Arhat bouddhiste, Mani prononce la formule des "trois refuges", comprend les "Quatre nobles vérités", les "Cinq Skandhas" et le "Chemin à huit membres"; tel un bodhisattva, il saisit le vide et l'éveil ; tel le Bouddha, il atteint le nirvana. Cependant l'originalité du texte vient du fait que malgré l'emprunt au bouddhisme, le document de par son dualisme radical, reste bien un exposé manichéen muni de son vocabulaire pahlavi et surgi de la profondeur de l'âme iranienne<br>The compendium of the doctrines and styles of the teaching of Mani, the Buddha of light was written in 731. Starting with a biography of the founder, his dogmatic system, the principles of dualism, the depicting of Mani's Heptateuch as well as the image, the presentation of ecclesiastical rules, the sacerdotal hierarchy as well as the communal disciplines, this document thus supplies a full account of Chinese Manichaeism. The goal pursued by the writer of the text was to adorn his doctrine with such colours as to make it easy to follow for a population already impregnated by Taoism and Buddhism. To this end, and non contented with just using vocabulary drawn from Buddhist thought and theology, he strove successfully to make of Mani an avatar of the Buddha and of Laozi. The understanding of Chinese Manichaeism must first begin with the study of Mahayana Buddhism, which acted as a theological vehicle for the religion of light. This is how Mani, like a Buddhist Arhat, pronounces the "formulas of refuge", understands the "four noble truths", the "five skandhas" and the "eightfold noble path". Like a bodhisattva, he realizes the void and the awakening, like the Buddha he reaches nirvana. Yet the originality of the text lies in the fact that in spite of its borrowings from Buddhism, the document, because of its radical dualism remains a Manichean writing, containing its own Pahlavi vocabulary and rises from the depth of the Iranian soul

Nel primo capitolo di questa tesi vengono presentati i politopi convessi e ne vengono mostrati alcuni esempi. Viene introdotta la differenza tra i concetti di politopo semplice e politopo simpliciale. Nel secondo capitolo vengono verificate alcune proprietà che riguardano le facce di un politopo e viene mostrata la costruzione della "figura al vertice". In seguito, viene analizzata la struttura combinatoria di un politopo definendo i reticoli delle facce e introducendo il concetto di politopi combinatoriamente equivalenti. Nel terzo capitolo viene definito cosa si intende per grafo di un politopo, per orientamento di un grafo e, in particolare, per orientamento aciclico. Viene mostrato il significato di "funzione lineare in posizione generale rispetto ad un politopo", fatto che permette di garantire l'esistenza di orientamenti buoni e di dimostrare il teorema per cui si possono identificare le facce di un politopo semplice conoscendo il suo grafo.

Abstract:
Introduzione: La malattia mani-piedi-bocca è una patologia infettiva tipica della prima infanzia causata dagli enterovirus, in particolare i sierotipi Coxsackievirus A16 ed Enterovirus 71. A partire dal 2008, ne è stata descritta un’epidemia da Coxsackievirus A6, in genere accompagnata da febbre elevata e che si distingue per lo sviluppo di piccole vescicole che progrediscono a lesioni vescicolo-bollose e a bolle vere e proprie. Inoltre, nei pazienti affetti da dermatite atopica, le lesioni tendono a localizzarsi sulle aree eczematose. Abbiamo quindi svolto uno studio osservazionale prospettico per descrivere le caratteristiche cliniche delle forme atipiche di malattia mani-piedi-bocca. Metodi: Sono stati arruolati i pazienti affetti da una forma atipica di malattia mani-piedi-bocca giunti consecutivamente presso l’Ambulatorio di Dermatologia Pediatrica del Policlinico S.Orsola-Malpighi di Bologna tra gennaio 2012 e febbraio 2014. Abbiamo valutato distribuzione, tipologia ed estensione delle lesioni. In un gruppo di pazienti è stata inoltre eseguita l’identificazione virale sul fluido vescicolare. Risultati: Abbiamo arruolato 47 pazienti (68% maschi) con un’età mediana di 22 mesi. Sono stati individuati 3 aspetti clinici principali: 1) forma acrale (distribuzione delle lesioni prevalentemente acrale), nel 62% dei soggetti; 2) eczema coxsackium (lesioni localizzate su aree eczematose), nel 23% dei soggetti; 3) forma diffusa (estensione delle lesioni al tronco), nel 15% dei soggetti. Inoltre, nell’80% circa dei pazienti si riscontravano macule purpuriche acrali, circa la metà dei pazienti aveva lesioni con aspetto purpurico e il 72% un interessamento dei glutei. In 9 su 11 soggetti genotipizzati è stato isolato il Coxsackievirus A6. Conclusioni: Questo studio ha permesso di descrivere tre fenotipi di malattia mani-piedi-bocca atipica, che deve essere correttamente identificata al fine di non porre diagnosi errate quali varicella, eczema herpeticum, vasculiti, impetigine, e di potere così procedere ad una gestione appropriata della patologia.<br>Background: Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a pediatric infectious illness caused by enteroviruses, mainly Coxsackivirus A16 and Enterovirus 71 serotypes. Since 2008, an outbreak caused by Coxsackievirus A6 was reported, with high fever and different cutaneous findings such as small vesicles evolving into vesicular-bullous lesions or bullae. Moreover, lesions tend to appear on eczematous areas in children affected by atopic dermatitis. We have set this observational, prospectic study in order to describe the clinical aspects of the atypical forms of hand, foot and mouth disease. Methods: Patients affected by atypical forms of hand, foot, and mouth disease consecutively seen at the Pediatric Dematology Outpatients’ Service of S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna from January 2012 and February 2014 were enrolled. The distribution, typology and extension of the lesions were evaluated. In some patients, viral genotyping was also performed. Results: 47 patients were enrolled with a median age of 22 months. We identified 3 main clinical aspects: 1) acral form (predominantly acral distribution of the lesions) in 62% of the patients; 2) eczema coxsackium (lesions distributed on eczematous areas) in 23% of the patients; 3) widespread form (lesions involving also the trunk) in 15% of the patients. Around 80% of the patients had acral purpuric macules (moderate or severe in 40%), up to 70% had a non-classical moderate or severe vesicular eruption. Around half of the subjects had purpuric lesions and 72% buttocks involvement. In 9 out of 11 genotyped patients, Coxsackievirus A6 was identified. Conclusions: With the present study, we were able to describe 3 phenotypes of the atypical hand, foot, and mouth disease, in order to correctly identify this illness and distinguish it from varicella, eczema herpeticum, vasculitis, impetigo and set up a proper management.

Abstract:
Although Khulna's actual history is not about more than 200 years, but it has a 2000 years settlement and commercial history. Khulna was a part of Ganaridai, Vanga, Jessore dynasty, Rarh (South Bengal) in different periods. The connection of rivers always made a blessing for Khulna for water transportation to accelerate trade and commerce. According to Ptolemy, the ancient Gangaridai had an ancient port located in greater Jessore [1,557]. Some archaic incidents, verses, and legends of Mani-Rishis (Ancient Indian Scholars) proved the old settlement and commercial style. The chronological evolution of the ancient Period (6th century BC – 1757 AD) described a civilization's development with the incremental commercial approach [2,315]. The colonial regime can relate to the evolution of a commercial and economic center like Barobazar as a whole. All these chronological narrations, consecutive phenomena, and influential factors will depict the trend of retail evolution. The research aims to describe Khulna's commercial development's sequential affairs and find the missing links between eras. Various ancient documents, Blueprints, Greek Periplus, etc. will describe the settlement, commercial mode, and history. It will determine the answer to the questions about the growth and establishment of river port cities and major economic centers' evolution. The paper will describe commercial –spatial progression in 4 Particular eras. GIS surveys and some old maps will illustrate the commercial land-use patterns of Barobazar from the Colonial Period to the present and the river base trade. These will elaborate on the existing conditions as well as the revolutionary changes. The fundamental research will help for the further Urban regeneration of Barobazar as a central economic hub. The historical consequences will help to sort out the development pattern and strategies behind the progression.

Ermenistan’da Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurucusu, Büyük Önder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün ciddi bir araştırma yoktur. Ama Ermenilerin hayatında Atatürk’ün rolünün Lenin ve Stalin kadar etkili olduğu kabul edilmektedir. Ermenice ders kitaplarında ve tarihi eserlerde Atatürk ve onun geçtiği Milli Mücadele yoluna farklı bakılmış, Atatürk’ün daha çok “Ermeni meselesi” ile ilgili seslendirdiği fikirler çarptırılmıştır. Ya da Atatürk’e ait edilen fikirlerin birçoğu sinsi amaçlarla sahteleştirilmiştir. Ona karşı saldırılar sistem haline getirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda Atatürk’e saldırıların nedenlerinin araştırılarak ortaya konulması çok önemlidir. Çeşitli zamanlarda hem Ermenilerce, hem de yabancı ülke yazarları tarafından Atatürk’e atfedilen fikirlerin kasıtlı olarak çarptırılması ve onların bazılarının da Ermenilerce yanlış olarak yorumlanmasının şahidi oluyoruz. Neticede Ermeni toplumu için “Ermeni düşmanı” bir Atatürk kimliği algısı oluşturulmuştur. Örneğin; Atatürk konusu ile ilgili araştırmalara imza atan Ermeni siyaset bilimcilerden olan Ara Papyan iddia ediyor ki, Mustafa Kemal’i 1918 yılında İngilizler esir almışlar. Diğer bir iddiada Mustafa Kemal 1918’in Ekim- Kasım aylarında intihar girişimde bulunduğu öne sürülüyor. Bu hikayeyi anlatan ise ABD vatandaşı Elizabeth Harris’tir ve o The New York Times’e ait The Contemporary History dergisinin 1922 tarihli sayında yayımlanmıştır. Yazının başlığı: “How Mustapha Kemal Formed His Army” ("Mustafa Kemal Ordusunu Nasıl Kurdu"). Burada gerçeği yansıtmayan ve tarihle hiçbir ilişkisi olmayan “olaylar” Ermeni okurlarına anlatılıyor. Ermenistan’da tarih ders kitaplarında da Atatürk’ü karalayan ifade ve cümleler, örneğin, 9.sınıflar için ders kitabının 31. sayfasında olduğu gibi, yeterincedir. Ermenistan’da Atatürk’ün hayatı ve mücadelesi ile ilgili rastlanan çalışmaların birçoğu Atatürk’ün hizmetlerinin değerini küçültmek amacı taşımaktadır. Birçok yayınlarsa, ona iftiralar söylemekten bile çekinmiyorlar. Mustafa Kemal’in 1911 yılında öldüğü ve onun adı ile başka bir adamın Osmanlı ordusunun subayı görevine getirildiği hikâyesi de uydurulmaktadır. Ermeni basınında yayılmış “Aslında Türklerin atası olan Mustafa Kemal, kimdir?” adlı yazı Türkiye’deki bazı Atatürk düşmanlığı yapan şahısların söyledikleri esasında yazılmıştır. Bugün Ermenilerin Cumhuriyet yıllarında geriye dönmesine mani olan bir Atatürk propagandası yapılmaktadır. Atatürk’e Ermeni saldırıları neden kaynaklanıyor, onların esas gayesi ve öne sürülen amaç nelerden ibarettir? Bu çalışmada bu hususlara değinilecektir.
