Abstract:
Bursting dynamics of mappings is investigated in this paper. We first present stability analysis of the mappings' equilibria with various parameters. Then for three mappingsP,P¯, andP^with different parameters, we study their powersP4,P¯6, andP^4. We show that the mappings thus obtained are chaotic by giving a rigorous verification of existence of horseshoes in these mappings. Precisely, we prove that the mappingP¯6is semiconjugate to the 3-shift mapping; the mappingsP4andP^4are semiconjugate to the 4-shift mapping.

LetEbe a smooth Banach space with a norm . Let for any , where stands for the duality pair andJis the normalized duality mapping. With respect to this bifunction , a generalized nonexpansive mapping and a -strongly nonexpansive mapping are defined in . In this paper, using the properties of generalized nonexpansive mappings, we prove convergence theorems for common zero points of a maximal monotone operator and a -strongly nonexpansive mapping.

We investigate the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the functional inequalities associated with Cauchy-Jensen additive mappings. As a result, we obtain that if a mapping satisfies the functional inequalities with perturbation which satisfies certain conditions, then there exists a Cauchy-Jensen additive mapping near the mapping.

In this paper we introduce the notion of parabolic-like mapping. Such an object is similar to a polynomial-like mapping, but it has a parabolic external class, i.e. an external map with a parabolic fixed point. We define the notion of parabolic-like mapping and we study the dynamical properties of parabolic-like mappings. We prove a straightening theorem for parabolic-like mappings which states that any parabolic-like mapping of degree two is hybrid conjugate to a member of the family $$\begin{eqnarray}\mathit{Per}_{1}(1)=\left\{[P_{A}]\,\bigg|\,P_{A}(z)=z+\frac{1}{z}+A,~A\in \mathbb{C}\right\

The analytical features of a Banach space K are characterized by the duality mappings on a Banach space K. One example of a monotone duality mapping on K is the subdifferential of proper convex functions on K. In this case, we look at various instances of normalized duality mappings as well as the idea of monotone operators on K. The surjectivity of the duality mappings and the notions of hemicontinuity and demicontinuity are crucial. If A and B are two monotone mappings then their sum is always monotone mapping but the sum of maximal monotone mapping may not be maximal in general. Ultimately,

Linguistic and psycholinguistic evidence is presented to support the use of structure-mapping theory as a framework for understanding effects of iconicity on sign language grammar and processing. The existence of structured mappings between phonological form and semantic mental representations has been shown to explain the nature of metaphor and pronominal anaphora in sign languages. With respect to processing, it is argued that psycholinguistic effects of iconicity may only be observed when the task specifically taps into such structured mappings. In addition, language acquisition effects may
