Abstract:
Marc Theo Jean Meyer was born on November 29, 1954 in Luxembourg, and he died on February 28, 2015 in Merzig, Saarland, much too early, at the age of only 60 years. Nevertheless, he has left a remarkable legacy with almost 100 scientific publications and extensive entomological collections, as shall be pointed out in this obituary.

Abstract:
Abstract: The power of movie in portraying feminist women are incredible, especially when movie are viewed as a low threshold art form. As early as 1965, Russ Meyer directed a feminist road movie called Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! Since then, the protagonists of road movies have a second gender besides males. After Thelma and Louise achieving great success in 1991, feminist road movies instantly became a craze, and many directors began making films with similar themes, such as Leaving Normal (1992) and Boys on the Side (1995). The film Wild (2014), directed by Jean-Marc Valle and written by Nick Hornby, based on the 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail by Cheryl Strayed, focuses on the personal growth of woman in hiking. However, like many other feminist road movies, although the director tries to tell womens stories, create strong female character and reimagine story structure, but still maintains the pleasure of looking. This article starts with camera language analysis to interpret scopophilia and the to-be-looked-at-ness of female character wrapped in the innovative feminist stories and intentions.

Abstract:

Abstract:
In the course of March 2020, the Netherlands, Flanders, and a large part of Europe were affected by the first wave of the COVID-19 virus. For four months, the population was in lockdown, and many issues had to be handled online. Social media became important to keep in touch with and to air opinions. Two folktale genres, namely the joke and the modern legend, were used to express frustrations, malicious pleasures, fears, and feelings of distrust. During the first wave, Theo Meder and Mathijs Kroon did some intensive collecting of jokes, memes, fake news, and conspiracy theories. It was expected by folktale researchers like Giselinde Kuipers and Theo Meder that, just like in former crises, jokes would contain plenty of morbid disaster humor, but that did not happen. Contemporary legends, on the other hand, were polarizing and toxic, and mistrust was mainly directed against the elite of politicians, scientists, doctors, and journalists. The corona crisis was seen as some kind of hoax in many ways, while most of the “sheeple” refused to wake up. The analysis of folktales during the pandemic provides an insight into the feelings and emotions in society.

Abstract:
Background:IL17 inhibitors (IL17i) are an alternative for patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) who did not respond to TNF inhibitors (TNFi). Secukinumab (SEC) is the first human monoclonal antibody that binds to the protein interleukin-17A.Objectives:The objectives of this study were to describe the characteristics of axSpA patients treated with IL17i and TNFi and to assess the persistence with IL17i and TNFi in a real world cohort. Methods:A retrospective multicenter observational study was conducted. axSpA patients (pts) according to ASAS criteria initiating a IL17i or TNFi between June 2016 and December 2019 were included. Demographic features, current and previous use of biologic Disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) were collected. Date and reasons of discontinuation – i.e., lack of efficacy, safety issue, sustained remission or others – were collected. Kaplan-Meyer analysis were performed.Results:370 pts were included. Among the 202 patients who received TNFi, 90 (44.6%) were female, mean age was 43.2 +/- 13.2 years, mean body mass index was 26.1 kg/m2 +/- 5.4, 49 pts (46.7%) were smokers. The most common SpA phenotype was axial radiographic (n = 89, 54,9%) and 114 (68.3%) pts were HLA B27 positive, mean BASDAI was 57.5 +/- 14.6, median disease duration was 8.6 years [3.0-10.5]. Among the 168 patients who received SEC, 78 (46.4%) were female, mean age was 47.7 +/- 11.8 years, mean body mass index was 27.2 kg/m2 +/- 5.8, 45 pts (44.1%) were smokers. The most common SpA phenotype was axial radiographic (n = 106, 76,3%) and 114 (78.1%) pts were HLA B27 positive, mean BASDAI was 62.8 +/- 14.8, median disease duration was 9 years [5.0-19.0]. TNFi was the first line bDMARD in 116/202 pts (57.4%) and SEC was the first line bDMARD in 15/168 pts (8.9%). SEC was prescribed at 150mg every month in 121/168 (73.3%) pts. The median persistence with TNFi and SEC were 18.0 months [11.0-27.0] and 12.0 months [6.0-22.0], respectively. During the 3-year follow-up, 130 pts (42 with TNFi and 88 with SEC) discontinued treatment: 80 (22 with TNFi and 58 with SEC) for lack of effectiveness, 41 (16 with TNFi and 25 with SEC) for adverse events. No patient treated with SEC presented a new-onset inflammatory bowel disease.Figure 1.Persistence with SEC after 3 years of follow-upConclusion:In this real world cohort of AxSpA pts, SEC was mostly prescribed at second and third-line, contrary to axSpA pts treated with TNFi. Most reason of discontinuation were related to lack of effectiveness with both therapeutic classes.Disclosure of Interests:Thibaut DELEPINE: None declared., Peggy Philippe Speakers bureau: Abbvie, MSD, Fresenius, Pfizer, UCB Pharma, Novartis, Consultant of: Abbvie, MSD, Fresenius, Pfizer, UCB Pharma, Novartis, Emeline Cailliau: None declared., Eric Houvenagel: None declared., Xavier Deprez Speakers bureau: Pfizer, UCB, Abbvie, Novartis, MSD, Consultant of: Pfizer, UCB, René-Marc Flipo Speakers bureau: Novartis, Lilly, Abbvie, Pfizer, MSD, Consultant of: Novartis, Lilly, Abbvie, Pfizer, MSD, Jean-Guillaume Letarouilly Grant/research support from: Pfizer (research grant).

Abstract:
One of the largest freshwater fish (2 to 2.5 meters long, over 150 kg) lives in the Amazonian rivers and lakes. It is well known that these waters are populated with piranhas that swarm and devour almost anything that moves. The lungfish Arapaima gigas coexists with piranhas by virtue of an armor-like plating of scales. Y.S. Lin, C.T. Wei, E.A. Olevsky, and Marc Meyers examined the microscopic structure and mechanical properties of these scales to discover what provided this protection.

Abstract:
Abstract Approximately 80% of AML patients express CD123 on their leukemic blasts and CD123 is frequently expressed on other hematologic and lymphatic malignancies. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy has demonstrated significant efficacy in B cell malignancies. Breakthrough of conventional CAR-T technology in AML has been hampered by expression of suitable target antigens on normal hematopoietic progenitor cells posing a risk for continued aplasia. Thus, innovative approaches putting the power of CAR-T technology under the control of reliable and fast-acting on/off switches to avoid and/or abrogate acute and long-term side effects are required. We have recently reported clinical proof-of-concept for autologous switchable CAR-T cell therapy in AML (Wermke et al. Blood 2021). However, manufacturing of autologous products is very costly and rrAML patients are often in urgent need for a product and multiple prior lines of treatment may be detrimental for product quality. While current clinical allogeneic approaches successfully prevent graft-versus-host disease, observed persistence has been limited due to rejection of the grafted T cells by host immune cells. Here, we report preclinical development of a donor-derived allogeneic switchable CAR-T therapy for CD123-positive hematologic and lymphatic malignancies (AVC-201). The reverse universal chimeric antigen receptor platform (RevCAR) is a 2-component CAR-T platform. The first component is a universal CAR-T cell. Its binding domain is a short, non-immunogenic peptide that by itself does not recognize any human cell surface antigen but is specifically bound by an scFv included in the second component, a soluble adaptor called targeting module (TM). To target CD123, a TM with a short half-life was selected (R-TM123), enabling a rapid switch-off of the RevCAR system by TM withdrawal to avoid acute and long-term toxicity usually associated with continuous activation of CAR-T cells. The allogeneic cells are generated by three edits with CRISPR-Cas9, which is meant to fully overcome graft-versus-host disease as well as graft rejection by host T and NK cells. Therefore, we expect a persistent T cell product that can be re-expanded with additional TM cycles. A summary of preclinical characterization of AVC-201 will be presented at the meeting including in vitro and in vivo pharmacology and toxicology experiments. Activation of Allo-RevCAR-T cells is strictly dependent on the presence of CD123-positive target cells and R-TM123. Abstract:
The collective apartment building, Miremont-le-Crêt, in Geneva is the product of the inventiveness of the local architect Marc Joseph Saugey (1908–1971), who planned and built it between 1953 and 1957. Listed as a Cantonal monument in 2002, it is considered today an original and unique example, far beyond the context of Geneva. Recently, it has become the object of a large rehabilitation project, led by the Geneva-based architecture office, Meier+associés. Mainly focused on the building's envelope, the project also includes several technical improvements of some of its other components; all of them introduced with respect to Saugey's spirit and the building's existing substance.

Abstract:
Aims: To develop an optimal electricity consumption profile for Maasai Mara University based on 90 days actual consumption data. To design and simulate captive grid interactive solar photovoltaic system for Maasai Mara University based on the first objective. Study Design: The system was designed and simulated using PV*Sol software to determine monthly energy production. Place and Duration of Study: A captive grid-tied solar PV system for the rooftop of the kitchen square at Maasai Mara University, for the daytime peak load that occurs usually between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Methodology: Maasai Mara University consumption load data was collected using a data logging system by the use of a special meter, acuvim ii meter. Initial system sizing was performed using the PV Sizing Agent tool. A 141-KW panel system was sized. A detailed 3D model was designed utilizing 203 Jinko JKM629N-66HL-5-BDV photovoltaic panels, each with a rated power of 695W Silicon Monocrystalline panels and a total of 14 SMA inverters were strategically chosen, with different models selected to match the specific characteristics of each PV array. Results: Analysis of the university’s energy consumption profile revealed a Peak Load Value, 102KW peak demand. The simulated PV system is projected to generate 249,576.20 kWh of electricity in a year, of this 78.1% is directly consumed on-site, fulfilling 50.07% of the university's appliance load, demonstrating the potential for significant peak load reduction within institutional settings. Conclusion: A financial analysis of the designed system was done, the financial analysis obtained a net present value of Ksh.8.058988704×107 for the solar PV system with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 26.735% and a payback period of 4 years. This study highlights the feasibility of cost-effective, sustainable solar energy solutions for universities.

Abstract:
587 Background: NAC is frequently used in the treatment of FBC. The efficacy of NAC in MaBC is unclear. Few studies have compared outcomes for MaBC and FBC after similar treatment. The aim of this study was to compare proportions of pathologic complete response (pCR) between MaBC and FBC according to tumor subtype (TS). Secondary aims were clinical response and overall survival (OS). Methods: We evaluated men and women with breast cancer treated with NAC between 2010 and 2016 with known hormone receptor (HR) status and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status at NCDB centers. The proportion with pCR (ypT0/Tis ypN0) was compared for MaBC and FBC for each TS by Fisher’s exact test. Logistic regression evaluated odds of pCR. OS was estimated by Kaplan-Meier and compared by log-rank test. Results: Of 7,721 MaBC and 859,096 FBC patients, 385 MaBC (5%) and 68,065 FBC (7.9%) underwent NAC and were included in this study. Median age for MaBC was 58 years (y) (range 23-88) and for FBC was 53 y (range 18-90). Within each TS, there were no significant differences in the distribution of tumor grade between MaBC and FBC. Clinical stage in MaBC and FBC were: Stage I: 8% v 11%, Stage II: 54% v 59%, Stage III: 38% v 30%; respectively. Median time from initiation of NAC to surgery was 143 days in MaBC and 148 days in FBC. Compared with FBC, MaBC had a lower proportion of complete clinical response (18% v 31%) and a higher proportion of no clinical response (14% v 7%); p < 0.001. Proportions and odds of pCR were numerically lower in MaBC compared with FBC for each TS and statistically significant for HR+/HER2- and HR+/HER2+ (table). pCR was associated with OS in both MaBC and FBC. Specifically, in MaBC who achieved pCR v not, 5 y OS was 90% v 64.7%; p = 0.02. In FBC who achieved pCR v not, 5 y OS was 91.9% v 75.3%; p < 0.01. Among pts receiving NAC, MaBC had worse OS at 5 y than FBC (67.1% v 79.0%; p = 0.02). Conclusions: Men receiving NAC achieved lower proportions of pCR than women and had significantly worse OS. However, pCR is prognostic in both MaBC and FBC. Limitations include small sample sizes for HR-/HER2+ and triple-negative TS and lack of detailed regimen information. Nevertheless, our results suggest that, compared with FBC, MaBC may be intrinsically more resistant to NAC. [Table: see text]

Abstract:
Background: In a country having traditional values like Pakistan, due to social media and the rise of modernization, there is an increased socio-political awareness among people. There is an increase in human rights movements, and socio-political and feminist movement like Aurat March is becoming quite popular. However, there is a substantial divide in the general population with reference to the recent feminist movement labeled as the “Aurat March”. Such a divide has given rise to various views regarding this movement that is often in conflict with each other. Aims: The current article reports the development of The Aurat March scale. Method: Exploratory Factor Analysis was carried out on a sample of 400 men to establish the factor structure of the newly developed scale. Findings: Five factors were extracted based upon the scree plot as per criteria of Eigenvalue> 1. Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test of sphericity was done. The value of 0.911 indicates that the sampling facility was superb, whereas Bartlett’s test of sphericity is found as significant. Factor loadings that were less than 0.3 were suppressed by SPSS. The final 30 items with α = .87 are considered as good alpha reliability. The newly developed Aurat March significantly correlated with the Attitude towards Women Scale (Spence et al., 1973); which indicates its convergent validity. Conclusion: The newly developed Aurat March scale is one of the pioneering efforts to develop a scale aiming to measure men’s attitudes and perceptions regarding Aurat March. The scale has demonstrated sound psychometric properties and is intended for use with the general population of men all over Pakistan.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Male breast cancer (MaBC) represents a rare entity, accounting for only 1% of all BC cases. In a previous work, we reported that MaBC recapitulates a unique mutational repertoire, harboring a distinct immune and genomic landscape across BC clinical subtypes. However, prognostic implications of pathway alterations in MaBC have not been reported before, leaving uncertainty regarding their significance and clinical actionability in MaBC, and similarity with female BC (FeBC) counterparts. In this work, we analyzed the prognostic implication of single gene alterations on MaBC-related survival. Methods: 17,759 breast tumors were tested by next-generation sequencing (NextSeq; WES, NovaSeq) and whole-transcriptome sequencing (NovaSeq; Caris Life Sciences, Phoenix, AZ). Real world overall survival (OS) was obtained from insurance claims and calculated from treatment start to last contact using Kaplan-Meier estimates. Statistical significance was determined by chi-square and Mann-Whitney U test with p-values adjusted for multiple comparisons (q<0.05). Results: Of 17,759 BC patients, there were 226 (1.3%) MaBC and 17,533 (98.7%) FeBC. In FeBC, GATA3 mutations (MT) were associated with better OS post-endocrine therapy (mOS: 49.6 vs. 43.1 months, HR 0.83, 95% CI 0.71-0.9, p<0.01) compared to GATA3 wild type (WT); whereas in MaBC, GATA3-MT was not associated with survival post-endocrine therapy (mOS: 54.8 vs. 60.8 months, HR 1.4, 95% CI 0.63-3.2, p=0.39) compared to GATA3-WT. The presence of TP53 mutations was adversely associated in FeBC, with a trend in MaBC. Poorer outcomes in TP53-MT vs WT were observed in FeBC patients post-endocrine therapy (FeBC: ΔmOS 25.2 months, HR 1.7, 95% CI 1.6-1.7, p<0.01 vs MaBC: ΔmOS 16.3 months, HR 1.08 95% CI 0.43-2.7, p=0.85), with CDK4/6 inhibitor (FeBC: ΔmOS 18.2 months, HR 1.7, 95% CI 1.6-1.9, p<0.01 vs MaBC: ΔmOS 19.5 months, HR 1.35, 95% CI 0.46-2.7, p=0.57) and in the post-chemotherapy setting (FeBC: ΔmOS 18 months HR 1.3, 95% CI 1.3-1.4, p<0.01 vs MaBC: ΔmOS 34 months HR 1.7, 95% CI 0.93-3.4, p=0.07). Additionally, CDH1, BRCA2 and PIK3CA mutations appeared to have no prognostic role in both MaBC and FeBC. The proportion of HR+/HER2- subtype was 72.12% in MaBC and 54% in FeBC. The results in the HR+/HER2-MaBC subgroup were consistent with those reported from the overall cohort. The number of HR+/HER2- MaBC with mutations in ESR1 (n=7), AKT1 (n=2), PTEN (n=8), mTOR (n=0), CDK4 (n=0), Rb1 (n=2), as well as other cancer susceptibility genes were very infrequent. Conclusions: MaBC may recapitulate a unique tumorigenic trajectory that differs from FeBC, as suggested by the dissimilar prognostic significance of selected genomic alterations. These data warrant further confirmation toward the goal of understanding sex-defined differences in BC and potential for tailored therapeutic strategies. Abstract:
The common issues of energy services related to customers’ complaints are delays in billing, inaccurate consumption measurement, lack of breakdown information, lack of real-time billing, and energy consumption. A questionnaire survey was conducted using face-to-face methods during the pre-installation phase to determine the customers’ awareness, acceptance, knowledge, and benefits in using smart meters. The findings show that 69.6% of the customers are aware that the use of energy-efficient appliances can save electricity. This study shows that the customers, regardless of demographic profiles and background, portrayed overall good awareness of the smart metering and smart living concept. Abstract:
Background/Objectives: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord, leading to muscle weakness, atrophy, and paralysis. Treatment focuses on symptom management, using medication, physiotherapy, and nutritional support. In this context, endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) can provide adequate feeding, hopefully improving nutrition and preventing complications. Methods: We studied ALS patients undergoing PEG over three months post-procedure, using anthropometry ((BMI)—body mass index; (MUAC)—mid-upper arm circumference; (TSF)—tricipital skinfold; (MAMC)—mid-arm muscle circumference) and laboratory data (Albumin; Transferrin; total cholesterol and hemoglobin), evaluating survival, complications, and nutritional/clinical status. Statistical analysis included Kaplan–Meier survival estimation and Cox regression to assess nutritional markers associated with survival. Results: 150 ALS patients underwent gastrostomy, mostly older adults (mean age: 66.1 years; median: 67). Mean survival was 527 [95% CI: 432–622] days, median 318 [95% CI: 236–400]. ALS bulbar subtype, MUAC and MAMC positively impacted PEG-feeding survival time (p < 0.05, Wald test). During the first three months of PEG feeding, each unit increase (cm) in MUAC and MAMC lowered death risk by 10% and 11%, respectively, highlighting the importance of nutrition care for survival. The bulbar subtype showed higher PEG feeding survival, with a 55.3% lower death hazard than the spinal subtype. There were no major PEG complications. Conclusions: ALS patients present a high risk of malnutrition. Patients that improved MAMC and MUAC in the first three PEG-fed months presented longer survival. Early PEG nutrition, even when some oral feeding is still possible, may reinforce the preventative role of enteral feeding in maintaining nutrition and potentially improving survival.

Abstract:
537 Background: Our objective was to explore ITC of sequential therapy with sorafenib followed by regorafenib (sorego) against atezolizumab+bevacizumab (atezobev) in HCC. Naïvely comparing median Overall Survival (OS) from sorafenib initiation on sorego in the RESORCE trial with atezobev from IMbrave150 is biased by population imbalance and selection of patients who survived on sorafenib in RESORCE. We used unanchored Matching Adjusted Indirect Comparison (MAIC) and novel survivorship bias adjusted anchored ITC (SBITC) to overcome these limitations. Methods: Overall Survival (OS) from sorafenib initiation in RESORCE on sorego were compared with reconstructed Individual Patient Data (IPD) OS based on Kaplan-Meier curves from IMbrave150 on atezobev. In MAIC, the sorego arm of RESORCE was weighted on reported baseline characteristics to match the IMbrave150 atezobev arm. In SBITC, sorafenib IPD from IMbrave150 were sampled with replacement and added to the RESORCE BSC arm to correct for “survivorship bias”. Sample size was sufficient for follow-up prior to RESORCE randomisation to be within 5% of sorafenib follow-up in IMbrave150. Anchored Bucher ITC was used to compare to unadjusted IMbrave150 with bootstrapping to obtain standard errors. Hazard Ratios (HRs) were used to compare OS. Results: MAIC gave an OS HR of 0.75 (95% confidence interval 0.60, 0.93; p-value=0.007). Effective sample size (ESS) was reduced from 379 to 271.75. SBITC gave a HR of 0.63 (0.52, 0.76; p-value <0.001) requiring an average of 83 sorafenib patients to be added from IMbrave150. Conclusions: We proposed MAIC and SBITC to overcome biases in naïve comparisons of OS on sorego with atezobev in HCC. However, MAIC is limited to baseline characteristics in IMbrave150 and does not adjust for “survivorship bias”. SBITC depends on sample size from IMbrave150, and makes no adjustment for imbalance in baseline characteristics. Despite these limitations, our methods were consistent with naïve comparisons and suggested longer OS with sorego compared to atezobev in patients with HCC.

Abstract:
Abstract This study measured the radiant power (mW), irradiance (mW/cm2) and emission spectra (mW/cm2/nm) of 22 new, or almost new, light curing units (LCUs): - Alt Lux II, BioLux Standard, Bluephase G2, Curing Light XL 3000, Demetron LC, DX Turbo LED 1200, EC450, EC500, Emitter C, Emitter D, KON-LUX, LED 3M ESPE, Led Lux II, Optilight Color, Optilight Max, Optilux 501, Poly Wireless, Radii cal, Radii plus, TL-01, VALO Cordless. These LCUs were either monowave or multiple peak light emitting diode (LED) units or quartz-tungsten-halogen LCUs used in anterior and posterior teeth. The radiant power emitted by the LCUs was measured by a laboratory grade laser power meter. The tip area (cm²) of the LCUs was measured and used to calculate the irradiance from the measured radiant power source. The MARC-Patient Simulator (MARC-PS) with a laboratory grade spectrometer (USB4000, Ocean Optics) was used to measure the irradiance and emission spectrum from each LCU three times at the sensor located on the facial of the maxillary central incisors and then separately at the occlusal of a maxillary second molar. The minimum acceptable irradiance level was set as 500 mW/cm2. Irradiance data was analyzed using two-way ANOVA and the radiant power data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA followed by Tukey test (a=0.05). In general, the irradiance was reduced at the molar tooth for most LCUs. Only the Valo, Bluephase G2 and Radii Plus delivered an irradiance similar to the anterior and posterior sensors greater than 500 mW/cm2. KON-LUX, Altlux II, Biolux Standard, TL-01, Optilux 501, DX Turbo LED 1200 LCUs delivered lower irradiance values than the recommended one used in molar region, KON-LUX and Altlux II LCUs used at the maxillary incisors. Bluephase G2 and Optilight Max delivered the highest radiant power and KON-LUX, Altlux II and Biolux Standard delivered the lowest power. The emission spectrum from the various monowave LED LCUs varied greatly. The multi-peak LCUs delivered similar emission spectra to both sensors.

Abstract:
This article analyzes the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MARCO) of La Boca, Buenos Aires, opened in 2018 as the city’s second museum to adopt the category of “contemporary”. Among its objectives, it became central to create a space for experimentation, a laboratory where artists could test material and conceptual conditions. At MARCO, the creative processes are shown through open workshops, visits, exhibits, conferences, special events and educational proposals. There’s also a residency program for artists from all over the country to create artworks in situ, slightly merge the roles of artist and public since visitors affect the work of art by their presence during production, while interaction is encouraged by not isolating or glass-boxing (Wylie, 2020) the “laboratory” or experimental space from the exhibitionary complex, but rather allowing the creation of a space for dialogue and discussion between artists, curators and visitors (Meyer, 2011). Also, the museum encourages innovative formats of production and display, highlighting collaborative work. If for Reinaldo Laddaga (2010) some contemporary productions show fragments of the artists’ lives under controlled conditions, fabricating a laboratory-like aesthetic, then MARCO can be defined as a contemporary museum-laboratory, where experiments are performed with a naked eye to provide a more dialogical experience.
