In the current study, 60 obese and diabetic subjects between the ages of 35 and 55 were examined to determine the hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects of garlic pods and Neem seed powder. Both serum lipids and serum glucose were measured for each individual. The current study's findings suggest that the use of herbs is safe and beneficial in the early stages of type 2 diabetes, with garlic (allium sativum) being the best hypoglycemic agent when compared to margosa trees (neem).

Several revisions of the genus Pleurothallis have been proposed. Luer has proposed that Pleurothallis species in subgenus Scopula be segregated into the genera Colombiana and Ancipitia. Szlachetko and Margonska (2001) proposed the genus Zosterophyllanthos for Pleurothallis subsection Macrophyllae-Fasciculatae. As an alternative, Luer (2005) proposed the genus Acronia by uniting Pleurothallis subsection Macrophyllae-Fasciculatae with subsections Acroniae and Amphygiae. The molecular phylogenetic studies by Pridgeon and Chase (2001), however, suggested that these taxonomic revisions might not be

Abstract The studies were performed for four consecutive years (2016–2019) at the Fruit Growing Research Station (North-East part of Romania), using eleven sweet cherry genotypes as research material. Five of them are new cherry cultivars – ‘Cătălina’, ‘Andreiaş’, ‘Maria’, ‘George’, and ‘Margonia’ – obtained by means of controlled hybridization or open pollination, and six of them are their progenitors (‘Van’, ‘Boambe de Cotnari’, ‘Stella’, ‘Fromm’, ‘Ciliegia di Ottobre’, and the ‘HC 27/4’ hybrid). The experiment compared the traits of new cultivars with those of their progenitors. The followi

The promotion of a cherry assortment with constant yield, low vigour of the trees, self-fertility and high productivity, resistance to biotic and abiotic factors and with ripening at the extremities of the cherries maturation season, represents a permanent concern of researchers. In this context, considering the current patrimonial situation and the perspectives of growing sweet cherry trees in the Iasi area, under a privatized agriculture, the selection of new cultivars to be introduced in the assortment requires a special attention.
