The involvement of community leaders in these efforts is very influential. This is indicated by the issuance of circular letters preventing early marriage. The result is the decrease of early marriage practice in Selo and Kaliangkrik Artikel ini membahas tentang praktik pernikahan dini yang banyak terjadi di Kecamatan Selo Boyolali dan Kecamatan Kaliangkrik Magelang. Abstract:
Background: Emotional divorce refers to a situation in which the emotional relationship, support, passion, warmth, attention, love, and intimacy between couples (husband & wife) decline or diminish. Such conditions lead to an unaffectionate marital life to the point that the couples are only together under one roof. Accordingly, the present study aimed to explore the role of attachment styles and spiritual intelligence in predicting emotional divorce in women. Methods: This study employed a descriptive-correlational design. The research population included all women filing for divorce who were referred to marriage counseling and couple therapy centers in districts 5 and 6 in Tehran City, Iran, in 2020. In total, 400 women who met the inclusion criteria were selected as the study participants using voluntary response and convenience sampling techniques. The required data were collected by the Emotional Divorce Scale, the Adult Attachment Scale, and the Self-Report Measure of Spiritual Intelligence. The collected data were analyzed using the multiple regression analysis method in SPSS V. 22. Results: The obtained results suggested a significant positive relationship between the anxious-avoidant attachment style and emotional divorce (P<0.01). Furthermore, there was a significant negative relationship between spiritual intelligence and emotional divorce; the higher the spiritual intelligence, the lower the emotional divorce (P=0.02). Accordingly, spiritual intelligence and anxious-avoidant attachment style can predict emotional divorce (Multiple Regressions= -0.58). Conclusion: The present study data suggested that premarital education and counseling before spouse selection help in examining the personality traits of the parties. Moreover, paying attention to the role of health professionals, such as family counselors, psychologists, and psychiatric nurses in providing premarital counseling and education to couples and emphasizing the role of spiritual intelligence and attachment styles may prevent emotional separation and divorce among couples.

Abstract:
Notes that pastoral counseling frequently has been criticized for its unreflective use of secular psychology and psychotherapeutic theory but that general systems theory as applied to marriage and family counseling usually escapes this criticism. Argues, however, that a feminist critique counters this general assumption, particularly as it challenges systems neutrality regarding ethics and values. Proposes that it is essential for pastoral counselors to be educated in ethics and value analysis in order to deal authentically with issues encountered in marriage and family counseling.

Abstract:
The analyses conducted in this paper aimed at presenting the standard for the marriage and family, which is created in Polish TV series, and subsequently noting the pastoral challenges arising from them. The quantitative analysis method was applied to stress the issues presented in the TV series. The moral issues dealt with in the series and their popularity in various social groups in Poland were the criteria for choosing the TV series. The qualitative analysis has shown that Polish TV series promotes alternative forms of marriage and family life. They are very different from the Catholic model of marriage and family. This provided grounds for the conclusions. It was observed that the Church is obliged to take up new pastoral challenges as a result of the TV series’ impact of Poles’ views and beliefs. Preparing young people to the sacrament of marriage and education for life in the family should be a priority. The Church should become involved in creating TV series which promote the Christian model of the marriage and family.

Abstract:
Adult children’s labor market status and their type of marriage are major channels through which family advantages are passed from one generation to the next. However, these two routes are seldom studied together. We develop a theoretical approach to incorporate marriage entry and marital sorting into the intergenerational transmission of family income, accounting for differences between sons and daughters and considering education as a central explanatory factor. Using a novel decomposition method applied to data from the Panel Study of Income Dynamics, we find that marriage plays a major role in intergenerational transmission only among daughters and not until they reach their late-30s. This is more salient in the recent cohort in our data (people born 1963 to 1975). Marital status and marital sorting are comparably important in accounting for the role of marriage, but sorting becomes more important over cohorts. The increasing earnings returns to education over a husband’s career and the weakening association between parental income and daughter’s own earnings explain why marital sorting, and marriage overall, have been growing more important for intergenerational transmission from parents to their daughters.

Abstract:
One promising form of philosophical practice is to conduct workshops on philosophical counseling for counselors. Since licensed professionals, such as Marriage and Family Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers sometimes confront situations that raise philosophical issues and usually have a philosophical perspective that informs their practice, they could profit from a workshop on philosophical counseling; the workshop also qualifies for continuing education units (CEUs) that are typically required to renew their licenses. This paper describes the principal purposes of a workshop for counselors, the structure of two such workshops, and suggestions for improvement of future workshops.

The research featured family values of the so-called Generation Z. The survey involved an authentic survey, S. S. Nosov’s Family Values Questionnaire, and the Morphological Test of Life Values developed by V. F. Sopov and L. V. Karpushina. A comparative analysis proved that Generation Z and Generation Y have both similar and different views on family values. The sphere of marriage and parenting had more differences, while the sphere of kinship showed more similarities. Representatives of Generation Z appeared to accept the idea of cohabitation; they also tended to get married relatively late in life. The gap between the optimal age of marriage for men and women proved to be quite narrow, while the age of first childbirth for women approximated that of men. In general, Generation Z shifted to an egalitarian family type. Unlike Generation Y, members of Generation Z valued spiritual satisfaction and underestimated achievements. In the hierarchy of family life values, they focused on spiritual satisfaction, self-development, individuality, and active social contacts. The research results can be used in health and family life education programs.

Abstract:
Aim: The research was conducted to examine the relationship among family planning attitude, gender and religious orientation of individuals preparing for marriage. Methods: The descriptive study was conducted with 588 individuals who applied to the pre-marital counseling unit between February and October 2018. Research data were collected using personal information form, Family Planning Attitude Scale, Gender Scale and Religious Orientation Scale. Descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. Results: The average age of participants was 26.81±4.83; 51.2% were women and 47.8% with university or higher education. The Family Planning Attitude Scale score average was 123.64±19.29, the Gender Scale average score was 85.43±16.76 and the Religious Orientation Scale average score was 57.7±8.27. There was a positive, moderate relationship between family planning attitude and gender of participants and a negative, weak relationship between family planning attitude and religious orientations. While the perception of gender explained 21% of the variance related to the family planning attitude, the variance explained about the family planning attitude with the addition of religious orientation increased to 22%. Conclusion: The family planning attitudes of participants were positive, the important variable affecting the family planning attitude was gender perception, and although religious orientation was a significant variable in explaining the family planning attitude, the effect was minimal. Abstract:
Every society has its own norms, values and morals, which help them to structure their universe. Among the Ogoni indigenous people, the centrality of ii-ii wa (traditional marriage) as the nucleus of society is the under guiding factor for their comprehensive marriage rites. To the Ogoni indigenous people, marriage is a sacred institution, inextricably attached to the Ogoni traditional religion. It is a process rather than a discrete event that marks one’s transition from one stage of life to another; it involves rituals, negotiations, and transactions that stretch over years. It is a community practice within which the values of a community are shaped and preserved. However, the eventual contact with the western culture through colonialism, christianity, education and, with the subsequent upsurge of globalization, reflects the diffusion of modern orientations and ideologies. These values are not only being challenged but also eroded. Consequently, this onslaught brings into question the place of the Ogoni cultural values and marriage system amidst modernization. This study, therefore, centers on the organized system of the Ogoni traditional marriage forms in relation to specific underlying dimensions, attributes and categories. The study further distinguishes between Bia-k𝑒̅, biabe and the assumed Sira-culture that do not exist in Ogoni cultural practices. In analyzing the subject matter, the study adopts the descriptive research design, using the philosophical approach, with special reference to the structural functionalism and the diffusion of innovation theories. Through the research effort it was observed that the fortunes of marriage and family institutions are dwindling due to the emerging trends of individualism, loosed morality, materialism and intrusion of foreign ideas into marriage and family system in Ogoni. Hence, the need to respect, project and protect those core Ogoni traditional marriage values. Keywords: II-II-Wa (traditional marriage), family values, religion, social change

Abstract:
The purpose of writing this article is to analyze the meaning of ararem in the context of Biak ethnic marriage. In the Biak ethnic marriage tradition, there is a concept known as ararem. Ararem is a tradition of delivering the dowry of a future husband to his future wife. The provision of ararem has the following meanings, namely: first, the binding of kinship between clans / kerets, namely the male family and the female family, the second ararem as a sign of appreciation for women, third, the essential meaning of giving ararem as a sign of peace that contains prayer and The hope of a large family for a husband and wife to multiply to live happily and harmoniously in fostering a household. The research method uses descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. This study will describe the sacredness of Ararem as assistance in Biak ethnic marriages and analyze Ararem as cultural heritage values which are used as counseling assistance in Biak ethnic marriages. In the tradition of ararem marriage, it is mandatory for Biak ethnicity to do so, because many ethnic groups believe that in ararem there is a sacred value, so if it is not done, then multi-ethnic marriage will not experience a happy and harmonious life. The purpose of writing this article is to understand the sacred value of ararem as a mentoring approach in pastoral by looking at local wisdom as a pattern of approach.

Abstract:
AbstractIn the United States, underachieving fertility desires is more common among women with higher levels of education and those who delay first marriage beyond their mid-20s. However, the relationship between these patterns, and particularly the degree to which marriage postponement explains lower fertility among the highly educated, is not well understood. We use data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 cohort to analyze differences in parenthood and achieved parity for men and women, focusing on the role of marriage timing in achieving fertility goals over the life course. We expand on previous research by distinguishing between entry into parenthood and average parity among parents as pathways to underachieving, by considering variation in the impact of marriage timing by education and by stage of the life course, and by comparing results for men and women. We find that women with a bachelor’s degree who desired three or more children are less likely to become mothers relative to women with the same desired family size who did not attend college. Conditional on becoming mothers, however, women with at least a bachelor’s degree do not have lower completed family size. No comparable fatherhood difference by desired family size is present. Postponing marriage beyond age 30 is associated with lower proportions of parenthood but not with lower parity among parents. Age patterns are similar for women and men, pointing at social rather than biological factors driving the underachievement of fertility goals.

Abstract:
Estimation of life satisfaction is an important indicator of mental health. In families where one member needs intensive care and attention, many mental health parameters start to decline, even life satisfaction. In line with that, we conducted research with a goal to explore the role of marriage quality, job satisfaction, altruism, age, education, and gender in life satisfaction in individuals that have a family member in need of intensive care or additional support (N=98) and individuals that who do not have (N=793). The instruments used were the DAS scale, a combination of the Altruism scale and Alzam scale. Life satisfaction and job satisfaction were evaluated on 10-point scale. All participants were married or in a romantic relationship at the time of research. It showed that there is a significant difference in life satisfaction between these two groups of individuals – a lower level of life satisfaction was identified in a group of individuals that has a family member in need of intensive care. Important predictors of life satisfaction in the first group of individuals were job satisfaction and risks for marriage stability, and in the second job satisfaction, partner agreement and age. Life satisfaction is higher among people who have a university degree and/ or higher education than those who have completed high school in both groups. In both groups, job satisfaction represents an important predictor of life satisfaction. Still, we noticed differences when it comes to the quality of marriage – risks of marriage stability decrease life satisfaction in a group that has a family member in need of intensive care, whereas agreement with partner contributes to life satisfaction in the second group of participants.

Abstract. The formation of the personality characteristics of a married couple is very important and decisive inthinking and acting in building a sakinah household. Sakinah will appear in the calmness of the heart and the clarity of their minds. The scholars, including women scholars from the pesantren have written about it. The purpose of this paper is to uncover and describe the ideal quality of the personality of a married couple in the eyes of women scholars from the pesantren. This article is interesting, because so far many books on household written by male scholars, not female scholars, so it tends to be paternalistic. This paper is useful for the development of Marriage Counseling science based on local pesantren wisdom. The focus of this paper is the portrait of the quality of the personality of a married couple in reaching a sakinah family in the book Zadu Az-Zaujayn (a reinterpretation of the book of Uqud al-Lujjayn ) by Ibu Nyai Zainiyah As'ad, Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Sukorejo Situbondo from the perspective of marriage counseling. This research method uses Gadamer's hermeneutic approach. The results showed, married couples should have the quality of personality that has knowledge (about some rights and obligations, fiqh of women, and the ability to educate children), gracefully when bitter experiences (sabar), affection, acceptance of life as is (ridha and ikhlas), and create a good impression of their partner (self presentation). The focus of marriage counseling adhered to by the pesantren is directed at the improvement and development of the quality of the personality of a married couple rather than the problems in the marriage itself. If a married couple has a good personality then problems in a marriage can be solved by themselves. That personality will radiate in thinking and acting in everyday life to create a sakinah family.

Abstract:
Although a large body of empirical research has shed considerable light on the attainment of eminence in psychology, this literature has focused almost exclusively on samples of eminent males. Yet there is sufficient reason to expect that eminent female psychologists do not neces- sarily follow the same life and career pathways as do eminent male psychologists. To help rem- edy this deficiency, the current historiometric study concentrates on a sample of 80 eminent female psychologists born between 1847 and 1950. After obtaining three reliable eminence measures, variables were defined with respect to family background (parental occupations and sibling configurations), marriage and children (including divorce), education and career devel- opment (especially the attainment of higher degrees and full professorships), and professional contributions (to 20 different specialty areas). Even after controlling for potential artifacts due to year of birth and reference source, statistically and substantively significant correlations were found in all four sets of variables. Even though the pattern of findings sometimes closely paral- leled what was found for eminent male psychologists, other times the results strongly diverged. Because these divergences most likely reflected traditional gender roles and gender-biased pol- icies, female and male routes to eminence should progressively converge over time, if they have not done so already. Finally, some findings based on this all-female sample deserve empirical examination in comparable male samples.

Abstract:
Marriage is a "life-long project" and projects require planning. This study aimed at knowing the role of Marriage Preparation Programs (MPP) in the awareness of marriage planning through: their content, their used means, and the time allocated for lectures and activities. In addition, the study aimed at knowing the point of view of the beneficiaries of these programs about what has been presented and some of their socio-demographic characteristics. The current study is a descriptive study that used two tools to collect field data: a questionnaire to describe and analyze the programs' content and personal interviews with the beneficiaries of these programs. Four MPP- provided by three centers in Jeddah - and seventy-two cases: 32 females and 40 males were chosen through purposive sampling. The major findings of this study can be generalized as followed: I. Marriage goals, sex education, and dialogue between spouses are the most provided subjects by MPP. II. Lectures are the mostly used means to deliver MPPs' content. III. Differences exist between MPPs in terms of allocated time. IV. The most important subjects to be covered by MPP, from the beneficiaries' point of view, are: spouses' rights and duties, dialogue between spouses, the goal of marriage, dealing with anger, sex education, organizing the family budget, and the transference to the marital house. Generally speaking, MPP role in the awareness of marriage planning and family constructing was found to be limited. The study recommended the following: make the results of this research available for MPP providers; do more research in the field of MPP; provide MPP only for the beneficiaries who intend to marry; and design different types of marriage/family education programs for: non-married, married spouses, fathers and mothers, divorced, and widowed beneficiaries.

Abstract:
SummaryForty-two single women who want to be childless, eighteen who desire a one child family, and 42 who want two children responded to questions about the quality of their present lives, and nature of future marriages. The groups of women were closely matched for age and education, and on current quality of life there were few differences. They had similar levels of positive and negative affect, and described life as enjoyable, interesting and contented. Those wanting to be childless, however, rated life as less optimistic and less loving, and also as currently somewhat less satisfying, but life satisfaction was still quite high. These early deciders of childlessness, and those wanting only one child, wanted to be financially and socially more independent in future marriage-type relationships than women wanting at least two children. They also expected to follow interests and careers to their fullest, wanted more role innovative partners, and were somewhat less concerned about home ownership, living to a budget, and keeping contact with family and friends. All women placed considerable importance on the need for trust, self-disclosure and open communication in a relationship, although the voluntarily childless rated more highly the need for intellectual stimulation and for each partner to be happy about the success of their mate. Compared to women wanting two children, those wanting to be childless expected a partner to perform a wide range of non-traditional roles in the home.

Abstract:
Abstract Women in the U.S. have been earning more education than their male peers since the mid-1990’s. High power career positions that have historically been dominated by men are increasingly being filled by women. At the same time, since 2000, the U.S. workforce participation rate for women aged 25 – 55 has leveled off and begun to fall. Called the “mommy-wars” in the media, a heated debate has ensued between those women who feel that the role of mother should preempt seemingly selfish desires to engage in career work, while others firmly believe that it is possible to have it all; work, marriage and family. The purpose of this research project is to determine the health implications of each lifestyle for women later in life. Using the Health and Retirement Study, I compare self-rated health trajectories for the subset of women who are married, have children, and have attended college – those who are most likely to have the option to “opt-out” of the workforce for a stay-at-home mother lifestyle. Controlling for income and childhood health, and using growth curves and multivariate regression, preliminary results indicate that educated, married women who work full-time and raise children are the healthiest after age 50, while educated, married women who stay home with their children and do not work are the least healthy. In addition, these health trajectories have changed little since the 1950’s, even as cultural expectations for women have shifted.

Abstract:
Family life education classes in Polish schools are carried out on the basis of theoretical assumptions included in the core curriculum, programmes, handbooks and didactic materials. They indicate not only the objectives and the content, but also the methods of achieving them. It is rightly considered important to activate students in multiple ways in the fifth and sixth form of the primary school, first to third forms of the lower secondary school and in upper secondary schools. This principle assumes stimulating the comprehensive activity of students by arranging situations that serve the purpose of learning about issues concerning marriage and family, discovering family-oriented values and experiencing and acting in a responsible manner. Therefore, it requires the application of appropriately selected, varied forms, methods and didactic means in the family life education classes. This will help to individualise the process of education and to efficiently implement curriculum objectives and contents, thus enhancing the scope of students’ knowledge and experiences, as well as developing family-oriented attitudes.

Abstract:
The article studies features of verbalization of the concept family. Based on the extensive proverbial material, the system of value attitudes and stereotypical representations of family as a traditional social institution in the understanding of Russian and Ukrainian peoples is analyzed: the role of family and marriage in the culture of Russians and Ukrainians, stages of family formation including selection of a bride or a groom, distribution of family duties, and the role of parents, attitude towards step-children. As a result of the comparative analysis of Russian and Ukrainian paremias in which family relations are reflected, general and national-specific features related to mentality, value preferences, customs and traditions of close Slavic ethnic groups are revealed. It was concluded that despite the specific features of the material and spiritual culture of Russian and Ukrainian peoples, the understanding of family and its role in human life is similar. This coincidence proves that the main functions of family as a small social group based on marriage and consanguinity are education of children and preservation of national and universal values.

Abstract:
The status of women, which is relative and multidimensional, has an important bearing on any long-term reduction in fertility. In Indian society, where cohabitation and childbearing are socially sanctioned only after marriage, the length of the first-birth interval affects the completed family size by influencing the spacing and childbearing pattern of a family. This study examines the influence of certain aspects of the status of married women – education, employment, role in family decision making, and age at marriage – along with three socioeconomic variables – per capita income of the family, social position of the household, and the caste system – on the duration of the first-birth interval in an urban Hindu society of the north-east Indian state of Assam. The data were analysed by applying life table and hazard regression techniques. The results indicate that a female's age at marriage, education, current age, role in decision making, and the per capita income of the household are the main covariates that strongly influence the length of the first-birth interval of Hindu females of urban Assam. Of all the covariates studied, a female's education appears to be a key mediating factor, through its influence on her probability of employment outside the home and thereby an earned income and on her role in family decision making. Unlike other Indian communities, the effect of the caste system does not have a significant effect on first-birth timing in this urban Hindu society.

Abstract:
As part of their 10-year $60 million Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Initiative, The California Wellness Foundation funded 18 state and local organizations to conduct policy advocacy to strengthen teen pregnancy prevention policies. This article describes how some of these grantees accomplished noteworthy goals, including the passage of the California Comprehensive Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Act (SB71), the prevention of the state’s pursuit of federal “abstinence-only-until-marriage” funding, and the passage of a local school district FLE policy. Grantee progress is presented through a five-stage policy change framework: Institutional Capacity and Leadership Building, Policy Issue Recognition, Policy Prioritization, Policy Adoption, and Policy Maintenance. Implications are shared for advocates, policy makers, and funders who are developing initiatives aimed at improving the health of adolescents.

Abstract:
Suicide patterns and rates differ in various populations and cultures. It has been reported that developing countries have lower suicide rates, possibly because of a lower level of environmental stress but the Indians have a very high suicide rate (Elfawal, 1999). The choice of method used to commit suicide depends on availability of means, knowledge about lethal effectiveness, and the victim's motivation and intent. The present work was designed to investigate the different methods of self-destruction, the age and gender susceptibility to suicide, the groups particularly affected and the underlying motivating factor for such an extreme step among the North Indians. Various suggestions relating to decreasing the tensions of the modern mechanical life-style, educating the public in general and the availability, use and storage of agrochemicals have been put forward. Marriage counselling and the concept of family planning are also advocated.

Abstract:
The Church in urban Africa is seeing an increase in marriages and homes experiencing disruption due to divorce. In a bid to forward discussion on marriage issues, the church has developed material on premarital education. However, much of this material has been adapted from the West. The contribution of an African system to education remains largely unexplored. The purpose of this study is to explore the Kipsigis community’s marriage preparation customs with a view to recommend ways they might inform a local church’s efforts to develop a more culturally relevant curriculum that includes points of integration. While reintroducing principles on marital instruction from a traditional African culture is an unlikely panacea to marriage and family dysfunction in a contemporary context, the study suggests that from an early age, within the context of God’s community, children, youth and adults might learn and value the place of family life. Data collected from in-depth, semi-structured interviews with seven participants in the Kericho District were analyzed using grounded theory procedures of open, axial and selective coding. The study uncovered a cycle of influencers and educators, with the core being family and widening to mentors and the community at large. The context of learning was imbedded in everyday life and moved from unstructured to focused learning as children entered adolescence. The article concludes by suggesting four transferable points of application for integrating principles from traditional culture’s practices: 1) intentional community, 2) intergeneration interaction, 3) integrated learning, and 4) carefully chosen mentors.

Abstract:
Currently, divorce rate in most big cities of Indonesia display an alarming trajectory that warrants close examination of the factors leading to it. With Islamic religious courts presiding over most of the divorce cases, which account for the largest portion of all legal cases in the country, this study examines the causal factors of divorce particularly in Bajarmasin city in South Kalimantan province. The study uses a qualitative research method. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation study techniques. Findings indicate that there is little and sometimes no public awareness and understanding of the legal procedure of settling marriage deputes as many skip other available services like the Marriage and Divorce Advisory Board and directly seek divorce rulings from religious courts. It has also been established that domestic violence, secret marriages (Siri), early marriages and infidelity among other factors, are the main causes of the divorce. It has been established most of the couples seeking divorce ignore or are either ignorant about the roles and existence of the Marriage and Divorce Advisory Board which is formality tasked with the role counseling marriages couples with varying disputes and grievances. It is concluded that public awareness of proper channels and procedures of settling marriage disputes, women empowerment, increasing and promoting girl child education, strengthening family incomes, legal counseling on marriage law and a brief orientation on the dangers / impacts of secretary and early marriages could in the long-run curb the rampant divorce rates in the country and of course in Banjarmasin.
