Abstract:
The radio broadcasting industry in China has been operating for more than 40 years. It developed alongside with the policy of reforms and China’s openness, it followed the logic of marketization and institutionalization, it overcame the development boom of the end of the 1980s — the beginning of the 1900s and the period of a decade-long recession on the cusp of the two centuries. The author studied cutting edge literature on the subject of his research and applied such methods as analysis and generalization. The conclusions, concerning the current state and development trends of the radio broadcasting industry in China, have been drawn in relation to four aspects: general background of the branch, market design, ways of monetizing and the development of mass media convergence. To define the market structure in the industry of the radio broadcasting mass media, the author has analyzed the three-level market design, the results of the reforms of the broadcasting and production entities and frequency typing. The analysis of the national policy implementation and of the convergence trends has been taken as a principle to predict trends of development of the mass media convergence in the industry of the broadcasting media. Following the country’s political line, its economic development and the development of new media, Chinese industry of radio broadcasting media shows perfect growth dynamics day by day. In the nearest future, Chinese radio broadcasting will get even closer to convergence with the mobile Internet and other media. The objective of this article is to analyze the current state of Chinese broadcasting industry. The article can be of interest to experts and scientists who specialize in economic research of Chinese broadcasting media and Chinese mass media in general.

Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to analyze how English-language versions of e-newspapers in the first two countries affected, China and Japan, which are non-English-speaking countries and have different socio-economic and political settings, have highlighted Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic news and informed the global community. Design/methodology/approach A text-mining approach was used to explore experts’ thoughts as published by the two leading English-language newspapers in China and Japan from January to March 2020. This study analyzes the Opinion section, which mainly comprises editorial and the op-ed section. The current study groups all editorial discussions and highlights into ten major aspects, which cover health, economy, politics, culture and others. Findings Within the first three months, the media in both China and Japan shifted their focus from health and preparedness to the economy, politics and social welfare. Governance and social welfare were key concerns in China’s news media, while, in contrast, global politics received the highest level of attention from experts in Japan’s news media. Environment and technologies aspects did not receive much attention by the expert’s columns. Originality/value At the initial stage of a world crisis, how leading nations and initially affected nations deal with the problem, how media play their role and guide mass population with experts’ thoughts are highlighted here. The understanding developed in this study can provide guidance to news media in other countries in playing effective roles in the management of this health crisis and catastrophes.

Abstract:
China is currently Germany’s main trade partner. For many German companies, it is an attractive production site and an important link in global value chains. Despite existing disagreements, both sides in their official documents have continued to view their relationship as “comprehensive strategic partnership”. Yet experts and German mass media have increasingly tended to call China a “systemic rival”. Berlin is aware of the fact that it is having to deal not with a competitor but with a real contender for the world’s economic and technological leadership. Moreover, it is feared that the Chinese model based on the combination of state economic dirigism and political authoritarian methods of government may find a sympathetic ear in some countries. The question is how to build relationship with China in this new situation. The quest for a reasonable balance between calls to give a “tough” answer to the Chinese capital expansion, the drain of technologies and restrictions that German companies are facing in China’s market on the one hand and the necessity to continue a constructive dialogue with the new superpower on the other – that is the main task of German politics with respect to China. In view of the absence of a common political stance to be followed by the European Union countries in their dealings with China and the growing U.S. pressure aimed at securing, from its allies, support of the policy of confrontation towards China, the formulation of the German Chinese policy will most likely have to be situational resembling an attempt to solve an equation with many unknowns. The article explores trade and investment aspects of German-Sino relations and existing contradictions in the domain of sсientific and technical cooperation and technology transfer. Analysis is made of German business complaints regarding conditions of doing business in China, as well as of steps taken by the German authorities to limit Chinese investors’ activity in Germany.

Abstract:
The article analyzes the Russian citizens’ perceptions of BRICS countries. The authors focus on the cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and symbolic aspects characterizing BRICS countries in political consciousness of the Russians as well as common stereotypes, intentions, and associations. Since the Russian Federation has political and economic interests in cooperation with the BRICS countries, it is important to study representations of Brazil, India, China and South Africa in Russian consciousness and identify the possibilities of their transformation. Proceeding from the results of qualitative politico-sociological (a series of focused interviews) and politico-psychological (projective tests) studies held in 2016-2018 the authors conclude that the emotional component prevails in the structure of Russian citizens’ perception about of Brazil, India, China and South Africa. The image of China appears to be the most complicated and multidimensional, with the key elements being the “thousand-year history”, the “great culture” and the recognition of the geopolitical power of this state. The images of India and Brazil among the Russians have a significantly more amorphous character, but at the same time hold a moderately positive emotional connotation. The image of South Africa is the most fragmented, devoid of stable emotional valence and bright associations. It is remarkable that the perception of the BRICS countries by the majority of respondents is primarily influenced by implicit factors which manifest in appeal to stereotypes and associations (India – cinema, Brazil – football, etc.). Dynamic factors, determined by political agenda, play a minor role forming the images of the BRICS countries. A noticeable feature of their representation among the Russians is the blurring of the “image of due” and “image of the future”, as well as the minimal role of the political component (with exception of China). Therefore, it is necessary to change the information policy for the countries studied. In order to enhance the understanding of significance and relevance of cooperation with the BRICS states among the Russian citizens, it seems to be necessary 1) to build a positive image of political relations with them; 2) to cement an image of a “partner” and an “ally” in mass media, both on a rational and an unconscious level of political perception.

Abstract:
The article is dedicated to the United States’ achievements in space rivalry, its economic, geopolitical, scientific and technological aspects. Given the fact that the U.S. are faced with a difficult period in their history, they will try to restore the positive image of American democracy not only through traditional political methods, but also via scientific and technological leadership, including in the field of outer space exploration. The author focuses on NASA’s modern space programs, among which are initiatives that deal with landing on asteroids, exploring deep space, the Moon and Mars as well as attempts to commercialize outer space through space tourism. The author also compares the space program budgets of the U.S., Russia, China and some European countries. The article presents all these aspects in the current context, with paying attention to the STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). The goal is to understand why America still leads in space exploration and sets the bar. In conclusion, the author argues that Washington will keep prioritizing space industry and involve private companies in this field through allocating additional funding and granting tenders to those who are most competitive. In addition, achievements in the U.S. space program is a matter of international prestige and American leadership, given the fact that the image of the country has suffered a lot, especially amidst Trump’s bygone, yet controversial presidency. A successful implementation of Washington’s ambitions in outer space will strengthen both its leadership and its ties with Europe, which is strategically important for America in the times of political confrontation with Russia and China. In the article, the author primarily relies on descriptive and narrative scientific approaches, comparative and historical methods as well as systematic approach by analyzing NASA documents and publications, speeches of the U.S. presidents and specialized media outlets. The novelty of the article adds up to the fundamental analysis of the American space program through the lens of history and current times while focusing on its political, economic and technological aspects. Abstract:
INTRODUCTION. In December 2019, an outbreak of coronavirus infection (SARS-CoV-2) transmitted by airborne droplets was recorded in Wuhan, China. In mid-January, the virus was detected in Thailand and Japan; in March, the center of the pandemic moved to Europe; in early April, the United States came out on top in terms of the number of infections. To combat the virus, many states have introduced emergency measures, including lockdowns, social distance requirements, mass testing, etc. The pandemic has affected all spheres of public life, including international relations and international law.MATERIALS AND METHODS. The article analyzes the response to the pandemic on the part of states, organizations and the doctrine of international law; examines the international legal aspects of the pandemic: application of the International Health Regulations 2005, possible responsibility of China and other states, impact of the pandemic on human rights. The problems of legal regulation in connection with the pandemic are defined and the ways of their solution are determined. The subject of analysis is the materials of foreign legal press, first of all, posts and articles on the Internet. In addition to the data of international law, scientific categories of philosophy, economics and political science are used.RESEARCH RESULTS. Major UN bodies have reacted to the pandemic with general statements. WHO positioned itself as an international center for the fight against the virus and made recommendations that, however, were not implemented by states which adopted more restrictive measures. The main document that guided WHO is the International Health Regulations 2005 (IHR). Some states and the media accused China of a belated reaction and withholding information. As a result, the doctrine has discussed the issue of bringing a claim against China to the International Court of Justice. The legal basis for this claim could be the provisions of the IHR, the WHO Constitution and a number of duediligence obligations. The jurisdictional basis for applying to the ICJ could be Art. 75 of the WHO Constitution, and to an arbitration Art. 56 IHR. In response to the pandemic, many states have limited human rights; references have been made to the possibility of a temporary derogation from human rights obligations in an emergency and the possibility of limiting human rights in the interests of national security, health and the protection of the rights of others.DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. The foreign doctrine notes an nsufficient response frominternational organizations and makes proposals aimed at expanding the powers of the UN Security Council in combating the pandemic and at reforming the WHO. In addition, there are shortcomings of the IHR that hinder their effective use. The possibility of holding China accountable is questioned: there is nsufficient evidence of the violation; the threshold for breach of duediligence obligations is very high; China is unlikely to agree to participate in the lawsuit against it. Nevertheless, several lessons can be learned for the law of responsibility (the possibility of deviating from the principle of full compensation, etc.).The procedure for derogating from human rights obligations during a pandemic also needs clarification. In general, the international legal doctrine coped with the task of understanding of the pandemic phenomenon: it systematized and qualified the facts, discovered and formulated legal problems, both private and public, and suggested means to solve them. Few questioned the advisability of such a harsh global reaction and formulated a radical criticism; instead, the shortcomings of individual measures were noted and proposals were made to improve their effectiveness.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Compared with the public opinion in the era of traditional media, microblog public opinion shows different characteristics, among which the strong expression of public emotion and behavior is important and has practical impact. The important factor that microblog public opinion has a significant influence is that microblog directly reflects the public mood. Unlike traditional mass media, microblog is a direct point-to-point communication, and the influence comes from the nested microblog relationship. This exponential communication influence enables the public mood to spread to every corner of the world in a short time. In an article entitled “Public opinion formed by anger”, the author quoted the research results of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as saying that anger spreads faster on microblog than any emotion. The article also points out that microblogging has become the most convenient channel for Chinese people to participate in social discussion and express concern. The anger expressed in social contacts has promoted the dissemination of relevant news and accelerated the formation of public opinions and collective action. In fact, in many social fields in china, the trend of emotion in microblog has become an important aspect of public opinion prediction, even in crime prevention and economic development. Unfortunately, while people are keen to feel and use the emotional factors in microblog, they have not made a rational exploration of it. Based on the above background, this study intends to start from four aspects: First, why there are obvious emotional characteristics in microblog public opinion compared with traditional mass media; second, what kind of emotions exist in microblog public opinion and what is the relationship with the current social reality; third, how to express the emotions in microblog public opinion and how to present them; fourth, what are the social effects of emotional behavior in microblog public opinion and how to deal with the negative social effects. Subjects and Methods This paper takes psychological research as the main orientation, and pays attention to the public emotional factors in microblog public opinion. The main research methods are as follows: 1 literature method, through the collection and analysis of public opinion research, microblog research and public sentiment research, this paper selects the content related to this research and analyzes, arranges, synthesizes and uses it. Based on the above research, this paper puts forward a new dimension of public opinion research, and tries to innovate in research content, research perspective and research methods. 2. Case analysis method: On the basis of combing the context of the event, conduct text analysis and data statistics, register microblog through real name and interact with other users, and observe and collect relevant materials in the process of interaction. Questionnaire survey method in order to catch a glimpse of the leopard. 3. Questionnaire survey, using scl-90 questionnaire, 208 microblog creators were selected to investigate and analyze the emotional and behavioral factors. Ten factors include somatization, anxiety, compulsion and so on. Results The research found that with the continuous development of the internet, public emotional behavior will have an important impact on microblog public opinion. There are two directions: One is the top-down impact, the other is the bottom-up impact; it is mainly manifested in two typical ways: Social mobilization and emotional social struggle in microblog public opinion. The main expressions of their emotional behavior are: Weakness, anger, sadness and anger, etc. On the basis of combing the collective behavior and emotional struggle, the research finds that the communication framework of emotional behavior mainly includes the communication paths of discourse co meaning, identity co meaning and emotional co meaning; functional analysis includes target function, attribution function and ideographic function. From the tendency of public sentiment, microblog public opinion shows criticism, populism, nationalism, pragmatism, patriotism and justice. The social expression of public sentiment in microblog public opinion includes the spiral phenomenon of silence, butterfly effect, herd effect, resentment and so on. From the perspective of psychology, the public emotions in microblog public opinion are expressed as fear, anxiety, anger and sadness, while in terms of expression, the public express their feelings through direct expression, folk language and other ways. Conclusion The social effects of negative emotions in microblog public opinion have their own paths and standards of research and judgment, and we need to deal with the social effects of negative emotions. In the process of response, we should follow the principles of first time, multi opinion space construction, affinity and self-centered, strengthen the construction of service-oriented government, establish a three-dimensional communication pattern, and establish monitoring, early warning and feedback mechanisms. Abstract:
This article deals with general and specific aspects of how Romanian media covered the African swine flu crisis between 2014 and 2018. The analysis was mainly based on the available ground of media framing theory. The mediatic tone of reporting the African swine flu predicament complies with the pre-crisis, crisis, and post-crisis stages, as identified in the literature. Concerning the Romanian media approach on the African swine flu subject, the economic consequences and the mediatic leadership frames proved to be strongly related to similar inter-human and zoonotic diseases. The Romanian coverage of epizootics' main frames indicates a detached approach to the subject with exciting variations regarding the connections between information units and the general norms of mediatic content. This research suggests a few remarkable aspects that hint at current changes in the journalistic paradigm and the need to acknowledge crisis communication's significance when dealing with epizootic diseases.

Abstract:
The article applies the system approach to the conceptual image of mass media uniting analysis and synthesis, qualitative and quantitative methods of research, heuristic and logical-mathematical ways of revealing the content of the phenomenon under study. Special attention is paid to the basic concepts. A homeostatic model of mass media is provided. Typical relations between the media components are identified and analyzed with the help of mathematical and graphical models and interpretation of their meaning. A model representation reduces lack of knowledge on the essence of a phenomenon and allows one to demonstrate a mechanism of producing a new property of any system with a certain degree of adequacy. It is important to take into account that interactions between properties of the components manifest themselves in an uneven way with some of them increasing and some of them, on the contrary, decreasing. Methodological grounds for the system approach and homeostasis methods and models developed at the same time for formal describing complex social-economic systems have formed a background for building mathematical models of mass media systems. The article aims at defining the basic principles of relations between the media components for their further application to the insight into functioning of mass media systems. The article is up-to-date as the classification provided as well as systematization of relations in the system of mass media contribute to increasing methodological basis of the research into processes of communication.

Abstract:
Nowadays, mass-media discourse is a common object of study in various research works. This is connected with the fact that information and telecommunication technologies are developing at a fast pace. Mass media discourse is inseparable from society, that is, a large audience for whom information is transmitted in a simplified form. The media seeks to influence public consciousness through mass-media discourse, forming certain attitudes and values in the public mind. The aim of the study is to identify the main conceptual characteristics of China's image, as presented in the British mass media discourse. The research analyzes articles on political and economic issues about China published by the British media. By means of contextual, conceptual and semantic analysis the authors identify and describe such basic conceptual characteristics of China's image being formed in the British mass-media discourse, as China – a business partner of Great Britain, China – a threat to the global economy, China – a state with slowing down development. The first conceptual characteristic presents China as a state it is economically profitable to cooperate with. The second one, in turn, indicates that the state of its economy affects the situation in the world. As for the third characteristic, it describes China as a country with less progressive development. In addition, there is a semantic classification of the lexical units characterizing China, as well as a comparative analysis of the percentage of words and expressions used. These conceptual characteristics are expressed by such parts of speech as nounsadjectives, verbs and adverbs, as well as by verb phrases. The words and expressions used fully describe Great Britain, confirming the accuracy of the highlighted characteristics.

China is the biggest importer of Russian timber. However, the economic advantage, obtained from timber export, is not explicit for Russia. A pressing issue is the non-controlled cutting-down of forests on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as their low reproduction. In view of this, The Russian Federation enacted the law envisaging temporary on timber export. Harvesting is allowed only for processing or using without processing on theterritory of he Russian Federation. This law will allow to restore the afforestation on cut-down or damaged areas, will serve as an impetus for developing national timber manufacturing industry, will contribute to creating additional jobs, and as well will increase budget incomes at various levels. What assessment is the Russian timber industry subject to and what is the response of the Chinese Internet–mass media to the prohibition of timber export? Abstract:
The aging-based digital divide has gained increased research attention in recent years. This research focused on two important aspects of the aging society, the digital divide and the intergenerational differences, with regard to social media usage in China. The data were collected through a household interview, using a nationally representative sample (n= 3790) from 58 cities in mainland China. The present study investigated the association between differentiated social media usage with demographic characteristics, social economic status, physical and mental health, and social media perceptions. The results show a significant digital divide and generational differences. The existing socio-economic inequalities and demographic variance largely explained older adults’ social media access and diversity of social media engagement. Social media perceptions play more essential roles in the intensity of social media engagement for each generation group. This study contributes a better understanding of the manner in which different factors are associated with different generations’ social media engagement. A discussion is included regarding the necessity to close the aging-based digital gap in order to cope with the issue of rapid aging.

Abstract:
Mediatization is a relatively new approach to understanding the processes that take place in various spheres of human life. In media research, when studying this topic, politics, culture, and social practices are most often examined, but the sphere of economics is only mentioned and has rarely been explored. The purpose of the article is to determine new areas of research in the field of mediatization of the economy. The article examined traditional types of economic mass communication, provided an overview of modern economic communication practices (e-commerce, social networks, co-sharing companies, crowdfunding platforms, mobile applications, block chain and cryptocurrencies) that have arisen as a result of the digitalization of the economy. The author argues that the concept of economic communications in a digital society becomes expansive, and the digital economy can be called an economy via communications. In the digital world, there are economic interactions between the audience members themselves. It is proved that mediatization is not only a process that accompanies the functioning of the economy but the media themselves become a business environment. The mediatization of the economy triggers new and actualizes the existing threats to the livelihood of the audience ("economic power" of monopolies, "social engineering", scams on the Web, deception, etc.). We need a legal mechanism for regulating the digital economy, ethical codes. The intellectual potential of society created online should develop not only in the direction of the accumulation of new economic information and technologies for running online business, but also in the development of moral rules considering axiological and deontological aspects. In the context of mediatization the role of economic journalism is increasing, going beyond the scope of business journalism. The study of economic communications in the digital environment should become one of the current issues of modern journalism theory.

Abstract:
The article reflects the peculiarities of the application of the theory of "soft power" of the People's Republic of China through the mass media in state policy. In addition, the origin of this theory, the definition of the concept of "soft power" by Chinese researchers, adapted to Chinese society and culture, is given. This theory has gained particular popularity in the country, because it has found harmony with the worldview of the Chinese nation. Modern Chinese media, which, relying on new technologies, are the main tool for implementing this policy, successfully solve their main tasks. In particular, many major Chinese media content is published in English, their presence on the global Internet is increasing, and the scale of distribution is expanding. It is known that in order to spread Chinese culture on a global scale, deepen its acceptance, express a positive attitude to socio-economic modernization and political decisions of the People's Republic of China, the state uses innovative communication methods and actively spreads the Chinese "tone" in the international arena. The Chinese media come to the conclusion that they are effectively pursuing a policy of "soft power", spreading the values and culture of China around the world and thereby forming a positive image of the country. However, it is impossible to come to an unambiguous conclusion that China's soft power is being successfully implemented. After all, within the framework of the US-Chinese confrontation and the "belt and road", the activities of the Chinese media are severely criticized.

Abstract:
A fear of China's economic growth, particularly with regard to its recent evolution into the “factory of the world,” is often expressed in the Japanese mass media. This paper reviews the development of trade and investment relations between Japan and China and examines the validity of this “China fear,” pointing out the ways in which China continues to lag behind Japan on many economic fronts and describing strategies that Japan could use to improve its performance. Japanese firms need to focus on producing more specialized high-tech products. At the same time, to cope with competition from China, they must take more drastic measures to keep costs down in the production of low-tech products. Some Japanese enterprises have already initiated new approaches in management, production, and distribution. The views of three of Japan's leading economists are critically reviewed, with a focus on how Japanese firms might draw profitable lessons from China's situation, improve their joint ventures with Chinese firms, and benefit from China's large market by concentrating more on local conditions.

The article defines that political institutions are integral elements of the political system of society, important subjects of politics and carriers of the political process, that regulate the political organization of society, ensuring its stable and long-term functioning. It is stated that the main scientific approaches to understanding the phenomenon of political communication is positivism, behaviorism, structural functionalism, institutionalism and the attention is drawn to the fact that the mass media perform several functions in modern society – communicative, informational, relay, through the implementation of which, media affects all spheres of society and play an important role in the process of interaction between the government and the public. It was noted that the authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria took advantage of the historical moment when the European Union member states were interested in cooperation and were able to convince the Bulgarian society that membership in the EU is a way to solve economic problems, which will further contribute to the economic well-being of the country. The article mentions that an important role in the European integration process of interaction between the authorities and the public was played by Bulgarian journalists, who conducted an extremely intensive and important information campaign, which resulted in 76% of support for the Republic’s membership in this international organization by the Bulgarian society The experience of the Republic of Bulgaria shows that effective work of the mass media is extremely important for establishing communication interaction between government and civil society at a crucial moment for the country. However, the modern Bulgarian media environment is subject to intense criticism for the poor quality of the media product, the media’s dependence on oligarchs, and corruption.

Abstract:
Archaeological sites as part of cultural heritage satisfy a broad range of interests of different stakeholders. Along with satisfying cultural, social, scientific, etc., interests, their role is no less important in strategic socio-economic development.Unlocking asocio-economic potential of archaeological sites requires clear vision of how to conserve and protect each particular site, how and by what means to maintain and manage the object as well as what to do with it next. It is widely acknowledged that archaeological sites, in particular those having the status of archaeological monuments, play a socially important role, but their maintenance and development often require significant investment. While the laws make owners of archaeological sites, both private and public, solely responsible for conservation, restoration and maintenance of cultural monuments in their property, there should be appropriate mechanisms that mitigate the financial and legal burden and support owners along the way.Based on the review of legal regulation, scientific literature, information of the authorities and mass media, multiple expert interviews, consultations with professional archaeologists, and using an integrated socio-economic and legal approach to the researched issue, the article provides theoretical and practical insight into the actualities of archaeological heritage development potential in Latvia (making international comparisons) and possible solutions thereto.

Abstract:
Both movable and immovable cultural monuments provide opportunities to meet interests of many stakeholders – their owners and managers, local community, researchers, tourists, businesses, mass media, heritage institutions, etc., as well as so- ciety as a whole. Along with aesthetic, symbolic, educational, research, etc., interests, no less important are the economic ones induced by these monuments’ development potential. It is nevertheless widely acknowledged that investment in cultural heritage sites (including conservation, restoration, maintenance, marketing, etc.) may outweigh their direct economic benefits due to inevitable payments and obligations. Thus, the question arises: what are those factors that restrict and those that facilitate socio-eco- nomic development of the immovable cultural monument? Immovable monuments are divided into several typological groups, and the most numerous in Latvia are architectural monuments. Assuming that the effective- ness of development may depend on the type of the monument within one group, this article focuses primarily on manors as relatively numerous architectural monu- ments characteristic for Latvian regions (parishes) and valuable cultural-historical objects, representing large tourism potential. The article, analyzing the situation in Latvia and making international compari- sons, uses integrated socio-economic and legal approach to the researched issue. It provides both theoretical and practical insight into the actualities of manors’ devel- opment potential and possible solutions thereto.

Abstract:
The development of the convergent communication technology is not only limited to technology, but has penetrated and changed the basic patterns of human life. As a process structure and artifact, technology is an imperactive feature of future community development. Mass media is an effective means that can reach the masses in a large and widespread universality of reach. Mass media has an important role in society and is considered to have excess that can influence human mind in order to change their lifestyle. This paper tries to explain the phenomenon of convergence media that forces conventional media to enter the internet network (online). The research methods are qualitative and descriptive by applying library study and emperical data. This study discussed the digitalization of freedom in democracy in the mass media. There are 4 (four) aspects that influence the shifting of religious behavior community as a result of mass media freedom, in economic, social, cultural, and political life. The results of the study reveal conventional media shifting to online media give positive and negative impacts to its users. Moral decline in community, the economic life that puts too much emphasis on material fulfillment efforts, has caused people to become consumptive. Culture has caused the changes in the way of nation's life and losing of political values that based on family spirit, consensus, and mutual cooperation. In the view of Islam, mass media is a mass communication media that functions in creating a public opinion. The forming of public opinion is something that cannot be underestimated in the Islamic system. Mass media has a function to build a solid religious community and strengthen the values of nation and state life.

At the present stage of development in every sphere of public life and professional sectors there is a necessity in new words including new terms. Consequently, further study of word-formation process becomes particularly urgent. In mass media discourse, Internet-vocabulary words formed by affixation appear more frequently. Neologisms emerge in vocabularies that describe new processes and trends in social, political and economic spheres of life. Recent years are marked by increased interest in the study of affixation. The current paper describes lexical units that are formed by adding prefixes ruan- and ling-. Certain groups of derivatives with the two prefixes were discovered. The results indicate on-going process of ruan- and ling- delexicalizing. Despite unfinished delexicalizing both prefixes are characterized by high productivity of word-formation.

This paper starts with a discussion of what are the major characteristics of the China Model and why the developing countries are attracted to them. Then this paper argues that researchers should not take the China Model for granted because its ingredients are highly contested. Finally, this paper discusses what implication the China Model has for developing countries.

Abstract:
The definitions of the institute and the institutionalization in the different fields of science (scholarship) vary. Specifically this refers to the understanding of the institutionalization of the mass media, whose activities are greatly dependent on the authorities. In Ukraine, such dependence has been particularly salient during the last time. The article aims at studying the existing definitions of the institutions of both social phenomena. An analysis of the institute of comparison and interpenetration of media and power as a social communication сoncept has been offered. A concept of institutionalization of the mass media is analyzed in terms of content structure and personal freedom of journalist. Specificity of several specialized aspects of media institutionalization in the context of the existence of different types and forms of competition and cooperation between universal and specialized publication sand journalists are analyzed. Different subtypes of journalism and relevant social trends, as well as a degree of interaction between professional and commercial dimensions of journalistic sphere are analyzed. It is emphasized that debates on mass media institutionalization focus on two dilemmas: the «journalist-professional» and «the journalist-ordinary member of society». Such discussion relates to the social significance of the problem and to professionalism of the media and journalists. The authorities can reduce social importance of institutionalization of the mass media, as well as they can downplay it purportedly. But social institutionalization of the mass media does not disappear because of the whims of the current authorities. We argue if the current Ukrainian authorities took into account the main factors of the institutionalization of the media and the correlation between journalistic and social practices, it would make fewer mistakes in its work with the media (which cannot be destroyed by institutionalization). The followup studies on the research problem outlined in the article are to study definitions of institutionalization of social and communication characteristics of cluster institutions: legal, economic sociological and so on. Socio-communicative understanding of the concept of the institution in its modus operandi will enable systematizing knowledge about institutionalization of many social phenomena that serve the mass media. Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and its scope, intensity, cruelty has now become one of the most acute and topical problems of global significance. The article deals with conceptual measures for strengthening the fight against terrorism and extremism financing, effective work with the private sector on providing information necessary for detection of the activity connected with terrorism and extremism financing. This work analyses the increasing level of awareness of representatives of public and private sectors and strengthening of the role of financial intelligence for the use of reconnaissance data as a dominant way of fight against terrorism and extremism. It has been determined that in such circumstances effective fight against terrorism and extremism as the exterritorial phenomenon has to have a complex character, combining efforts at universal, regional and interstate levels. As experts note, the measures taken only at the national level will have a limited effect. For safety insurance, each state needs international cooperation. It has been established that in Israel in order to prevent crises and mass protests, they use in practice the positively recommended Israel’s experiment of information exchange of law enforcement and special bodies with leaders of public opinion (authoritative persons, elders), representatives of official clergy, mass media and NGO by means of WhatsApp mobile application in online mode about the events having a public response. The article deals with major trends in state regulation of Russian media landscape in the period 2017-2020, which features a large amount of fake news, extremist publications and other information harmful for the people and the society. The authors analyze the key measures taken by the state in order to protect the population from such information and diminish its negative effect, define the problems and difficulties that journalists and Internet-users face, and propose ways of addressing the problems. The article focuses on legal aspects of the governmental bans and regulatory policy as, in the authors opinion, they are primary to the other measures (economic, technological, etc.). Special attention is paid to the state legislative response to such threats as fake news, suicide, drug abuse, extremist or terrorist propaganda, and foreign agents financial impact on Russian media. The research involved an analysis of media reports on the relevant issues, as well as a study of the recent changes in the legislation concerning media landscape and results of other researches in this field. The authors infer that there are two major trends in the state regulation: one is liberalization of privacy laws for media landscape, and the other is harsher punishments for spreading extremist information, fake news and other state abusive content. However, such control should not be always viewed as negative.

Abstract:
We normally hardly notice the mass-produced paper products that pass through our hands on a daily basis, which we then recycle. In fact it has recently been predicted that books printed on paper will be replaced by digital formats. However, paper endures and specialist craft papers are now being produced in increasing quantities, especially valued by artists and conservators, but also by tourists visiting paper-producing areas around the world. Paper is therefore flourishing even in our computer and mobile-phone focused world. One of the areas benefiting from this revival is the Himalayas. As well as serving the tourist trade these products are now exported world-wide, as they were when paper first arrived in Europe in the eleventh century. There are even organisations that run Tibetan-style paper making workshops in America. This paper focuses on the papermaking revival in Tibet (China), Nepal, Bhutan and Sikkim (India). Using information gained from visits to producers, middle men, as well as retail and export operations, it seeks to compare the economic and social factors influencing the revival, including conservation issues. The conclusion highlights the fact that, even in the twenty first century, hand-crafted items still play an important rôle in our lives.

Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the features of the economic vocabulary functioning in the materials of the Chinese-language media. Media materials reflect the major changes that are occurring in the life of society, primarily in the economic sphere. For China, the development of a market economy is of great importance, which is also reflected in the texts of the mass media. Media materials are sources of new information, their recipients are mainly the general public. Nevertheless, economics is a professional field of activity with its terminological system. The main task of media materials is to transfer information from specialists in this field to non-specialists. Thus, taking into account the abundance of terms, the texts of the economic media enrich the lexicon of listeners or readers. At the same time, an analysis of the texts of the Chinese-language media showed that an active process of terminologization (the transition of commonly used words to the category of terms) is currently underway. This process has an impact on the daily communication of native speakers and is not enough studied on the material of modern Chinese.

Abstract:
Bangladesh, a developing country, has one of the highest rates of age-standardized mortality due to non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The prevalence of NCDs is steadily increasing within all population groups, including indigenous communities in Bangladesh. Indigenous people, non-dominant communities of society, are individuals having distinctive social, economic or political systems, and preserving own languages, cultures and beliefs. Contemporary research proposes that negative health behaviors, especially tobacco use, unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, and alcohol consumption are becoming escalating problems in Bangladesh. Indigenous communities with low health literacy are less receptive to health information and are unlikely to embrace positive health behaviors. Three major barriers to change health behaviors toward preventing NCDs among indigenous people in Bangladesh are: unawareness of the severity and/or importance of NCDs; absence of health literacy or knowledge on NCDs; and lack of advocacy for health intervention programs for indigenous patients suffering from NCDs. Intertwined within socio-economic delusions and discrepancies, indigenous people miss out on health care to prevent NCDs. Mass media campaigns have both an extensive coverage and an awareness-constructing potential to educate and influence intended audiences’ attitudes on changing health related behaviors. Bangladesh can change health behaviors within indigenous communities by adopting some effective strategies, including using multifaceted mass media to intensify coverage of the health campaigns, underpinning stereotyping health beliefs and conveying unidentified details about NCDs, and developing risk-reduction strategies for indigenous patients suffering from NCDs. Multi-stakeholder and intergovernmental mechanisms and mass media campaigns can be effective options for changing health behaviors of indigenous people in Bangladesh.South East Asia Journal of Public Health Vol.6(2) 2016: 17-22

Abstract:
Introduction. The paper presents a cultural analysis of the main models of media city: technological, economic and socio-cultural, revealing its function as a stable socio-cultural system and focused on the aspects of the dominant culture. Particular attention is paid to the sociocultural model of a media city, which is most important for constructing a cultural theory of a media city.Methodology and sources. Methodologically, the work is based on a culturalphilosophical analysis of the projects of futurologists, forecasters, designers, set out in cultural texts (articles, architectural projects, urban plans, etc.), cases of introducing media technologies into the urban environment and research literature. Results and discussion. The model of “media city” at the present stage is actively used by developers, governments, corporations in various variations and is fixed in the mass consciousness as a cultural form that associates development, success and prosperity with the use of media technologies in everyday urban life. All projects of a media city contain, to one degree or another, a description of its three main models – technological (based on the belief that media technologies can solve the most complex problems of the urban environment), economic (offering new economic models and solutions based on the analysis of the most diverse, as a rule, big data) and sociocultural (considering media technology as a key factor in improving the quality of life). Thus, the result of the study is the cultural-philosophical specificity of each of the models of the media city.Conclusion. The sociocultural model of a media city forms a new cultural and anthropological basis for a new urban culture – a culture based on the use of network media devices in everyday practices that affect almost every aspect of the life of a city dweller, and, first of all, his cultural communications and transactions, which comprise the cultural experience of an individual or what we call culture.

The article addresses impact factors for signing the RCEP Agreement (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) on the macro- and microeconomic environment and economic consequences of India's refusal to sign the said Agreement. Objectives. The purpose is to assess the possible impact of signing the RCEP Agreement on the world economy. Methods. The study employs the GTAP Model from the perspective of tariffs. I created two scenarios to simulate and analyze the impact of signing the RCEP Agreement on GDP, changes in human well-being, import and export trade, and specific industries. Results. The study shows that import and export trade and changes in the welfare of RCEP member countries have increased, and the economies of Japan, South Korea, China, Australia and New Zealand have boosted production and improved terms of trade, while the economies of India and ASEAN have experienced a certain negative impact and deterioration in terms of trade. The economies of non-RCEP countries have experienced a negative effect in all aspects. Conclusions. The signing of the RCEP Agreement has a significant positive impact on the economic interests of the participating countries, especially on the developed economies (Japan, Korea and Australia). At the same time, negative values of China, India and ASEAN in terms of GDP and terms of trade may indicate that developing economies will have negative consequences at the initial stage of free trade. However, from the point of view of changing imports and exports, the signing of the RCEP Agreement may increase the overall level of well-being.

Abstract:
Mass media globalization as part of the global informatization process encourage separate research endeavors, further explanation and analysis for a number of reasons, in particular, due to its scale, consequences and perspectives of the complex and dominant economic impact on all aspects of the economy as well as on humanitarian domain of social life. In modern realia, a generally accepted understanding of information technology has emerged, i. e. being a set of methods and software tools that are integrated into a technological chain to ensure the information accumulation, processing, storage, distribution and display. Apparently, global cultural affinity is gained through mass media to a much greater extent than by technological aspects of globalization – it is simply wider than the scope of such technology components as networks, mobile communications, television, etc. however, despite the above mentioned, the mass media development pace as a global tool is significantly more slowly than particular technological solutions and instruments of globalization. When considering globalization through the prism of mass media as a driver of international marketing development, it becomes clear that it is a powerful but yet, most frequently, a destructive instrument that has the capacity and the ability to bypass various formal barriers, such as sovereignty, independence, national specifics, etc. Moreover, we should not ignore the possibility of avoiding an “information war” phenomenon, either. The paper provides insights into the role of information technologies in establishing a dialogue and consent in modern society, it also seeks to evaluate their manifestation and effects on the process of cross-cultural communication in the context of international marketing development and globalization.

Abstract:
Based on the framework theory, this study takes “People’s Daily”, “Southern Metropolis Daily” and “China Women’s Daily” three traditional media with different positioning as examples, to have a glimpse of their media discourse presentation and practice of “medical beauty”. Through content analysis, it is found that the media presentation of medical and aesthetic topics is mainly driven by events, and its positive aspects are not only reflected in the possibility of providing people with the chance to change their lives and destiny, but also tied to the discourse of technological nationalism. There are significant differences in the framework and topic focus of different media. People’s Daily pays more attention to constructive perspectives such as industrial economic framework and governance, while media such as Southern Metropolis Daily lays more emphasis on accidental issues that can draw the attention of the audience.

Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the issues of pragmatic effectiveness of China's patriotic rhetoric in the Chinese media in English. Chinese traditional and modern mass-media communication techniques are identified. The author defines the role of figurative actualization of the external threat concept through the metaphor of war in relation to critical economic and social factors, and the image of the great overcoming used to raise the patriotic spirit of the nation. Historical allusions and folk wisdom are presented as tools of traditional patriotic rhetoric in China. Modern mass-media communication practices of China include specific resources of the English language and the English-language speech tradition. In the coverage of critical events China employs harsh warning rhetoric, pun, and sarcasm. In light of the harsh attacks from the United States and the demonization of China in the American press and American politics, the communication practices of China's patriotic rhetoric, despite their deliberate external aggressiveness, are viewed as the reaction of a defensive nature

Abstract:
ASEAN targets internal integration and strong external relations with its partner countries. Japan has stressed its long-standing support for ASEAN. The year 2013 saw the 40th anniversary of Japan-ASEAN relations when Japanese state actors put considerable efforts into marking this anniversary. Although Japan remains one of ASEAN's largest trading partners and sources of foreign direct investment, recent years has witnessed power relations dynamic in the region with China and South Korea actively engaging as well. State actors’ statements and mainstream media coverage on ASEAN-Japan relations, particularly on economic and political security issues, had been the heavy focus of scholars interested in the field. An analysis of social media, and in particular Twitter, offers alternative insights for a more comprehensive observation. The total of 3.29 million tweets containing the word “ASEAN” were collected from November 2013 to December 2015. From the dataset, it was identified that tweets using Japanese language are the third highest in volume after Indonesian and English. Content analyses were conducted to answer the questions on how ASEAN as an entity is viewed by the populations of its partner countries; which aspects of the integration project attract Twitter users’ interests also, in the relation to strong external relations that ASEAN want to pursue, which countries are mentioned in the tweets and on which aspects? Using keywords from the Blueprints of ASEAN Community’s integration aspects, the tweets were categorized as related to economics, political-security and socio-cultural topics. Countries mentioned in the dataset were counted and then categorized according to these aspects as well. The study finds economic and political-security themed tweets are the largest in volume with heavy mentioning of Japan, China and South Korea. Results suggest that online conversations about ASEAN are still strongly influenced by government and mainstream media’s agenda.

Abstract:
Background In December 2019, a few coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were first reported in Wuhan, Hubei, China. Soon after, increasing numbers of cases were detected in other parts of China, eventually leading to a disease outbreak in China. As this dreadful disease spreads rapidly, the mass media has been active in community education on COVID-19 by delivering health information about this novel coronavirus, such as its pathogenesis, spread, prevention, and containment. Objective The aim of this study was to collect media reports on COVID-19 and investigate the patterns of media-directed health communications as well as the role of the media in this ongoing COVID-19 crisis in China. Methods We adopted the WiseSearch database to extract related news articles about the coronavirus from major press media between January 1, 2020, and February 20, 2020. We then sorted and analyzed the data using Python software and Python package Jieba. We sought a suitable topic number with evidence of the coherence number. We operated latent Dirichlet allocation topic modeling with a suitable topic number and generated corresponding keywords and topic names. We then divided these topics into different themes by plotting them into a 2D plane via multidimensional scaling. Results After removing duplications and irrelevant reports, our search identified 7791 relevant news reports. We listed the number of articles published per day. According to the coherence value, we chose 20 as the number of topics and generated the topics’ themes and keywords. These topics were categorized into nine main primary themes based on the topic visualization figure. The top three most popular themes were prevention and control procedures, medical treatment and research, and global or local social and economic influences, accounting for 32.57% (n=2538), 16.08% (n=1258), and 11.79% (n=919) of the collected reports, respectively. Conclusions Topic modeling of news articles can produce useful information about the significance of mass media for early health communication. Comparing the number of articles for each day and the outbreak development, we noted that mass media news reports in China lagged behind the development of COVID-19. The major themes accounted for around half the content and tended to focus on the larger society rather than on individuals. The COVID-19 crisis has become a worldwide issue, and society has become concerned about donations and support as well as mental health among others. We recommend that future work addresses the mass media’s actual impact on readers during the COVID-19 crisis through sentiment analysis of news data.

Abstract:
In the past few decades, the rise of China has become the theme of heated debates, the central question of which is whether China will rise peacefully or as a “threat.” Faced with various speculations and predictions about China’s possible future course of action, Chinese political leaders and eminent scholars began engaging in the making and projecting of China’s soft power as well as a series of nation-branding campaigns. In order to study and evaluate the effectiveness of China’s nation-branding campaigns as well as how well the general public receives them, we looked into the perspectives and attitudes of the populace to find out their attitudes toward China’s national image. In this article, we intend to scrutinize the public opinions toward China as reflected by the questions and answers on social media ( quora.com in this case), using content analysis. As the findings show, the ranking of effectiveness of the different aspects of China’s nation branding is as follows: (1) history, (2) place, (3) language, (4) political and economic systems, (5) culture, (6) people, (7) infrastructure, and (8) social institution. Based on the results of the study, a model for evaluating the success or effectiveness of nation-branding campaigns was proposed.

Abstract:
In recent years, China has put forward the Belt and Road Initiative and conducted cooperation with neighboring countries in various aspects. This paper will focus on the analysis of ECRL in which China participates in cooperative construction. Due to financing difficulties and political problems in Malaysia, the project took a long time to negotiate. At the same time, the Malaysian media and people have maintained a positive attitude towards the project because it will bring long-term benefits to both China and Malaysia's political and economic environment. There are also some difficulties in the implementation of this project, which are similar to other projects that China has cooperated with. However, these difficulties can be solved by putting forward countermeasures. Therefore, it reveals that Malaysia must strive to solve internal problems such as inefficiency, low productivity, and corruption. Two countries should unite their minds and strengthen their confidence to build the ECRL into a landmark project of China-Overseas railways. Only in this way can the two countries take the opportunity of the Belt and Road Initiative to promote their cooperative relations and further strengthen economic exchanges between countries.

Abstract:
From the point of view of the critical study of the advertising industry, Asia has never been more interesting. Until the 1980s and 1990s respectively, Western-based advertising agencies were very much excluded from the largest markets, China and India. Now these countries are both undergoing rapid economic growth, and seeing the emergence of new categories of consumers — not only the much-vaunted ‘middle class’. Yet, for all the exceptional rates of growth in advertising expenditure being recorded, and the breathless rhetoric of the trade press, the impact the global advertisers and their agencies have upon Asia needs to be put into perspective. For instance, although the use of the internet and other new media is rapidly gaining ground, television still dominates, because that is the medium favoured by the biggest-spending advertisers in these countries. Ultimately, Asia is defined more by its geographical unity than anything else, for in most relevant aspects its diversity is arguably greater than that of any other world region, and this is reflected in the collection of articles presented here.

In March 1988 the People's Republic of China announced the birth of the first test-tube baby born to a 39-year-old infertile peasant woman. This surprise announcement appeared in strong contradiction to China's population reduction goals amidst a population crisis. Yet, the media attention given to this medical achievement would seem to be consistent with the political, social, and economic changes taking place in the last decade, including technological innovation as the key to a modern socialist nation. In short, this announcement highlights tensions facing China as it simultaneously attempts to modernize within a trans-national economy, control population, and maintain traditional Confucian family values within a rapidly changing context.

Abstract:
Propaganda and its elements are an inseparable part of everyday life. In a digital age, when, in every second, a vast amount of information is exchanged, the possibilities and variations of propaganda techniques application are proportionally high. The majority of these propaganda messages that can be seen every time we turn on a device, or just go outside and look around are the messages of economic propaganda. Every time we hear a speech of a corporate or government official, we hear a carefully created and delivered message put together by public relations experts, which as well, by its genesis, belongs to propaganda. Still, the subject of this paper is propaganda, which is much more malicious in its origins and manifestations, and that is propaganda for ultranationalist purposes. In this paper, the authors first consider the etiological and historical aspects of propaganda focusing on those forms that had the most devastating effects. Propaganda predates mass media, but it is their conjunction that helped propaganda to reach a maximum capacity of its impact. Therefore, the authors analyze the correlation between propagandists, propaganda, and mass media.

Abstract:
The media participates in the creation and reinforcement of mental models, through which people interpret social realities, especially those that are distant and unknown. News making involves the use of certain frames that highlight some aspects of the information and downplay or silence other elements. In this context, the objective of this article is to analyse how China is portrayed on the Spanish news, and identify the organising ideas and value judgments that are used in the frames used in this process. Based on the application of the content analysis technique, the results show that the portrayal of China, its institutions and citizens, on television is carried out through four main frames: “Capacity, potential, development;” “Gloom, shadow and darkness;” “Dangerous environment” and “Exotic organisation.” From the Western perspective, Chinese economic growth is accepted, but at the same time China is presented as a problematic country in which natural disasters, accidents, and criminal acts abound, highlighting its systemic political deficiencies and systemic deficiencies. This mostly negative image of China does not correspond with its current and historical relationship with Spain, nor with the relevant position that this emerging power has reached on a global scale.
