Abstract:
Objectives: A research has shown that the construction materials account for more than 55%-60% of the total expenditure of a project. Efficient material planning plays a major role in the successful handing over of a project within the estimated cost and schedule. Methods: This paper mainly focuses on materials planning and inventory control as these are the major aspects of material management. S-curve analysis is performed to measure the fluctuation between estimated materials cost and market materials cost. The major reasons for this are identified by interviewing engineers and contractors. Inventory control techniques such as ABC classification as well as EOQ analysis are conducted. Findings: The result of the S-curve analysis show that the actual materials cost is higher than the planned materials cost in most cases. ABC and EOQ analysis are applied to maintain sufficient stock in inventory and any given point of time, to protect the materials in the inventory against damages, to reduce inventory holding costs, to overcome stock-out problems and to maintain the inventory in an optimal level. Sensitivity check is applied to the results of EOQ analysis. The stock-out of A class and B class material problems faced in the construction site can be reduced by the application of ABC classification and BOQ analysis. The total expenditure of inventory is less after the adoption of these simple inventory control techniques. Conclusion: Instead of using costly software for inventory management, the engineers and contractors may use these simple inventory control techniques which are equally beneficial and economical.

Abstract:
Inventories are raw materials, work-in-process goods and completely finished goods that are considered to be the portion of business’s assets that are ready or will be ready for sale. Formulating a suitable inventory model is one of the major concerns for an industry. The earliest scientific inventory management researches date back to the second decade of the past century, but the interest in this scientific area is still great. Again considering the reliability of any process is an important feature in the research activities. Values of some factors are very hard to define or almost unreal. In such cases, fuzzy models of inventory management take an important place. This paper analyzes possible parameters of existing models of inventory control. An attempt is made to provide an up-to-date review of existing literature, concentrating on descriptions of the characteristics and types of inventory control models that have been developed.

Abstract:
This paper deals with the development of a computerized information system for materials management and control for shipbuilding yards. It begins by critically examining the manual and semi-manual data processing methods used in medium and small-sized shipyards and highlighting their drawbacks. Based on this and with the knowledge of the ready availability of desktop computers in small/medium-sized shipyards, a computerized materials management and control system is proposed. The schema of the proposed database system is then presented by the help of block diagrams. A number of application programs have been developed to manage, control, and update the various database files under the "Network," "Purchase," "Inventory," and "Drawing" modules. The system has been tested in a simulated production environment by entering the production, planning, materials, and drawing information of two different vessels during construction. The range of information that can be obtained and the results from the proposed system are shown briefly. It is felt that a computerized information-based materials management system has a major role to play in the smooth and profitable running of a shipyard. It is very effective in a quick appraisal of complex queries relating to materials procurement, production and drawing status, and the cause of delays.

A stock out is undesirable for manufacturers because it halts the production process. An inventory is the stock of ideal resources in a firm for future use. Manufacturing organizations typically have raw materials, components, sub-assemblies, tools and equipment’s; semi-finished goods etc., the inventory of an item should not be neither too high nor too less. It should be optimal. The recent development in inventory management is JIT (Just-in-Time). JIT implies handling of inventory in a much disciplined way. It requires changes in culture. It also encompasses the Japanese managerial characteristics i.e., Lifetime employment, implicit control mechanisms, collective decision making, collective responsibility and holistic concern for employees. Abstract:
Abstract It has been found that the area where one can look for significant reserves in the procurement logistics is a rational management of the stock of raw materials. Currently, the main purpose of projects which increase the efficiency of inventory management is to rationalise all the activities in this area, taking into account and minimising at the same time the total inventory costs. The paper presents a method for optimising the inventory level of raw materials under a foundry plant conditions using two different control models. The first model is based on the estimate of an optimal level of the minimum emergency stock of raw materials, giving information about the need for an order to be placed immediately and about the optimal size of consignments ordered after the minimum emergency level has occurred. The second model is based on the estimate of a maximum inventory level of raw materials and an optimal order cycle. Optimisation of the presented models has been based on the previously done selection and use of rational methods for forecasting the time series of the delivery of a chosen auxiliary material (ceramic filters) to a casting plant, including forecasting a mean size of the delivered batch of products and its standard deviation.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective Timely availability of intravenous infusion pumps is critical for high-quality care delivery. Pumps are shared among hospital units, often without central management of their distribution. This study seeks to characterize unit-to-unit pump sharing and its impact on shortages, and to evaluate a system-control tool that balances inventory across all care areas, enabling increased availability of pumps. Materials and Methods A retrospective study of 3832 pumps moving in a network of 5292 radiofrequency and infrared sensors from January to November 2017 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. We used network analysis to determine whether pump inventory in one unit was associated with inventory fluctuations in others. We used a quasi-experimental design and segmented regressions to evaluate the effect of the system-control tool on enabling safe inventory levels in all care areas. Results We found 93 care areas connected through 67,111 pump transactions and 4 discernible clusters of pump sharing. Up to 17% (95% confidence interval, 7%-27%) of a unit’s pump inventory was explained by the inventory of other units within its cluster. The network analysis supported design and deployment of a hospital-wide inventory balancing system, which resulted in a 44% (95% confidence interval, 36%-53%) increase in the number of care areas above safe inventory levels. Conclusions Network phenomena are essential inputs to hospital equipment fleet management. Consequently, benefits of improved inventory management in strategic unit(s) are capable of spreading safer inventory levels throughout the hospital.

Abstract:
Construction material represents a major component of the project cost. Therefore, it is essential to control material on construction job sites. Efficient material management system requires trade-offs and optimized balance among elements of material cost including purchase cost, storage cost, opportunity cost, ordering cost, and unavailability cost. Thus, there is a need to develop an automated method for optimizing the delivery and inventory of construction materials not only in the planning phase but also in the construction phase to account for introduced changes. In this research a novel genetic algorithm – multi-layer perceptron (GA-MLP) method is proposed to generate optimized material delivery schedule. Multi-layer perceptron (MLP) is utilized to improve genetic algorithm (GA) by generating memory to overcome local minima encountered in applying GA for optimization. This automated method supports contractors to buy construction materials with the least cost and without leading to material shortage or surplus. The proposed automated method has been validated through a numerical example. The obtained results demonstrate that GA-MLP outperform GA in optimizing construction material inventory.

In the VED analysis, 19.2% of the items were classified as vital, and 62% and 19% as essential and desirable, respectively. In ABC-VED matrix, 23.3% (72%) belonged to category I, while 63% (25.6%) and 13% (2%) were classified in categories II and III, respectively. Conclusion: The use of inventory control tools granted a better storage of products and made it easier to find the items. The ABC curve, VED analysis and ABC-VED analysis allowed greater control, considering both cost and importance of supplies.

Abstract:
Spare parts inventory management is very important to ensure smooth operation of maintenance department. The main objectives of inventory management of spare parts are to ensure the availability of spares and materials for the maintenance tasks and increase the productivity of the maintenance department. This research centred on the development of the Computerised Inventory Management System (CIMS) for the maintenance team at Weida Integrated Industries Sdn. Bhd. The inventory management technique used to control the spare parts inventory in this research was the basic Economic Order Quantity models (EOQ). However, the CIMS developed is unique as it has the ability in handling inventories in multiple-storage locations. The CIMS was written using the Visual Basic 2010 software. This CIMS has the abilities to keep records and process the spare parts information effectively and faster besides helping the user to perform spare parts ordering tasks compared to the current manual recording. In addition, the ordering quantity and frequency for the CIMS is determined through the EOQ technique. However, observation indicates that the overall average inventory level currently at the factory is lower than the expected overall average inventory level produced by the CIMS. This is due to the fact that the CIMS was unable to consider the opening stock in ordering the inventories. Therefore, further improvements are needed to optimize the performance of the system such as using the EOQ with the reorder point technique, the periodic or continuous review system.

Abstract:
Drug shortage is always a critical issue of inventory management in healthcare systems since it potentially invokes several negative impacts. In supply chain management, optimization goes hand-in-hand with inventory control to address several issues of the supply, management, and use of drugs. However, it is difficult to determine a shortage situation in a hospital due to multiple unpredictable reasons, such as manufacturing problems, supply and demand issues, and raw material problems. To avoid the shortage problem in a hospital, efficient inventory management is required to operate the system in a sustainable way and maximize the profit of the organization in the Hospital Supply Chain (HSC). In this work, we study a drug refilling optimization problem, a general model for drug inventory management in a hospital. We then investigate a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) model to address this problem under an online solution that can automatically make a drug refilling decision in order to prevent a drug shortage. We further present a numerical result to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, which outperforms the baselines (e.g., over-provisioning, ski-rental, and max-min) in terms of the refilling cost and the shortage rate.

The limited supply of Nalco raw materials from producers has become a problem for PT ABC, this has led to the control of raw material inventory at PT ABC not including good management, because in the management of raw materials the company still records inventory with manual systems and in ordering raw materials only based on estimates. From the results of the study, the forecasting method used is the Double Exponential Smoothing Holt's, Brown, and Holt Winters Additive Algorithm methods, from the three methods that are most suitable is the Double Exponential Smoothing Brown method with the smallest Mean Square Error of 256.2. Calculation of Sizing Lot by using Economic Order Quantity method, Least Unit Cost method, and Silver Meal method, of the three methods the most optimal is the Economic Order Quantity method because it has the lowest cost of Rp. 12,651,145. The calculation of Safety Stock gets 17 Pail results. and for Reorder Points for Nalco Water Treatment raw material, which is 29 Pail.

Abstract:
Cast concrete is very important in building physical buildings, both for the construction of houses, hotels, bridges, apartments and other physical buildings. The concrete cast material is the most chosen by the community in building buildings because it is easily formed according to the needs of construction and has a strong strength and is resistant to high temperatures. "Inventory is a component of material or finished product available in hand, waiting to be used or sold" (Groebner in Baroto, 2002: 52). Monitoring raw material inventory is a management function that is very important because inventory is a very large investment company, both in terms of value and future functions. So from that the company needs to implement planning regarding inventory control which estimates the accuracy between inputs into output and the accuracy of the quantity or volume of raw materials. In the real world there are many companies that have not noticed the importance of managing raw material inventories, this can be found in companies that experience excess raw materials in warehouses, as well as running out of raw materials. Monitoring inventory that is well implemented can trigger the success of a company in the production sector in a timely manner. In manufacturing companies often encountered a delay in the arrival of raw materials according to a predetermined schedule. This can create panic at the company's management if there is a stock out, where on the other hand the company must immediately fulfill the goods orders. Therefore, monitoring the availability of concrete cast materials is very important to support the smooth production and can avoid the vacuum of concrete cast material. If the availability of concrete cast raw materials does not monitor, it will cause difficulties in knowing whether or not there is still a concrete cast material to be produced. On this basis the author makes a monitoring system for the availability of concrete cast raw materials using the Market Basket Analysis method.

Abstract:
Purpose: this paper concentrates on the development and validation of an approach enabling to identify radiologically relevant radionuclides in radioactive waste at different stages of their management, as well as to implement their direct instrumental control. Material and methods: The research was carried out by comparing relevant radiological effects produced by radionuclides contained in activation RW from VVER-440 unit (reactor vessel, vessel internals and fuel rod cladding) on human at different stages of RW management. AKDAM-2.0 complex was used to evaluate the changes in the radionuclide inventory of materials during their irradiation and cooling. Results: The study enabled to calculate relevant contribution of different radionuclides to the overall activity and dose rate from external and internal human exposure at different stages of RW management. This paper proposes a novel approach to identify radiologically relevant radionuclides based on a comparative evaluation of their contribution to the dose rate their activity, half-lives and migration properties. Relevant lists of radionuclides were developed for the studied materials. These radionuclides should be considered in the safety assessments of RW management practices and the post-closure safety demonstration for deep geological disposal facilities (DGDF). The study suggests that direct instrumental control is feasible for a number of radionuclides along with the use of an integrated approach enabling to evaluate the content of other radionuclides. Conclusions: Further validation proved the viability of the proposed approach in the development of lists of radiologically relevant radionuclides. It has been found that the generated list is consistent with international practice used to demonstrate DGDF safety. It should be noted that only a small number of radionuclides should be considered radiologically relevant notwithstanding a variety of radionuclides generated due to material activation. In some cases, certain radionuclides are required to be added to the lists specified in the appendices to Radiation Safety Standards (RSS). However, the direct instrumental control covering the entire list of radiologically relevant radionuclides (for each RW management stage) is considered not feasible and hard to implement. The study shows that an integrated approach combining direct instrumental control for certain radionuclides, periodic destructive tests and inventory calculations is a preferred option. At the stage of periodic radiation monitoring in the disposal facility, such instrumental control should be focused on the evaluation of disposal system properties affecting its safety (hydrogeochemical, hydrogeological characteristics and etc.).

Abstract:
This essay explores the performative nature of probate inventories in the early modern period through a reading of Mosca's “taking an inventory” in the final act of Volpone. I argue that the capacious divide between the items listed and the domestic subject, or interior, with which we associate them, is not between intact subjects and objects, but rather between raw materials, physical and rhetorical, which are stitched together through the performance of the inventory, in an exercise of oeconomia, or “management of the household.” Jonson deftly exploits the overlap between the probate inventory and the commonplace book, as storage systems of material possessions and rhetorical copia, respectively, in order to emphasize how both contribute to managing flows of words, desires, bodies, and things in the household. In Jonson's play, the rhetorical motives of copia combine with the experiential mobility of the inventory to define relationships within the domestic space. In the process, Volpone radically destabilizes our sense of subjects and objects as discrete categories. Instead of distinct persons and things, we encounter performances like Mosca's: styles of management, mechanisms of rhetorical control, which marshal the vast storehouse of copia to organize a superabundance of material referents, and, in doing so, enable fantasies of attachments between words and things, names and objects. Through the physical, rhetorical, and social dimensions of the inventory, Jonson draws our attention to a performance at the heart of domestic experience.

The objective of the present research is to develop a proposal to resize stocks in a hotel company through the use of inventory control tools: minimum stock, order point, inventory turnover and inventory coverage. In addition to that, we aim to study the demand forecast by the company and the resupply mode of the stock. Besides that, we use the ABC curve to classify the materials in stock. The methods used were: interviews with the managers of each area involved in the process and analyses of reports provided by the company. As a result of the research, we could find out that the company studied the demand observing the occupancy rate of the hotel. the resupply occurred through request to the warehouse, the items in stock were classified through the ABC curve, minimum stock, order point, inventory turnover and inventory coverage were performed for each item in category A of the ABC curve. It was also observed that the leadtime of the resupply process was equivalent to three days.</p>

Abstract:
Purpose – In manufacturing industries, the levels of inventories at all stages (i.e. raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventories) indicate the firm's competitive positioning, strategies, internal processes and relationships with suppliers and downstream customers. The authors identify patterns of manufacturing industries based on levels of raw material and finished goods inventories to classify inbound and outbound supply chain strategies. Design/methodology/approach – The authors review literature on supply chain inventory strategy and perform cluster analysis to analyze patterns of manufacturing industries based on manufacturing industry data collected from US Census of Bureau. Following Porter's Five Forces Model, the authors perform in-depth case studies of four representative industries to analyze factors driving supply chain strategies, including industry intensity of rivalry, threat of new entrants, threat of substitutes, bargaining power of suppliers, and bargaining power of buyers. Findings – This study identifies three streams of research on supply chain strategy: Fisher's model and its variations, lean and agile paradigms, and push/pull systems. It finds that whether an industry shows low or high raw materials or finished goods inventories depending on its products, processes, and the dynamics of all forces described in the Five Forces Model. Research limitations/implications – This study is not able to include supplier selection, production strategies, warehousing and distribution, and even product design into the analysis of supply chain strategy due to data limitation. This study classifies industries based on average inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, while inventory levels and supply chain strategies for specific firms may vary significantly within each industry. Originality/value – This study contributes to the supply chain management literature by providing a parsimonious framework of mapping inbound and outbound supply chain inventory strategies, and the results based on the analyses of all US manufacturing industries provide a baseline picture for supply chain management professionals with manufacturing firms.

Abstract:
In this paper, a far reaching report on Supply Chain Management (SCM) is displayed. SCM is the administration of a system of interconnected organizations associated with the arrangement of item and administration bundles required by the end clients in a store network. Production network administration traverses all development and capacity of crude materials, work-in-process stock, and completed merchandise from purpose of cause to purpose of utilization. Budgetary Supply Chain Management at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) is displayed. Another definition is given by the APICS Dictionary when it characterizes SCM as the &quot;structure, arranging, execution, control, and observing of inventory network exercises with the goal of making net esteem, constructing an aggressive foundation, utilizing overall coordination, synchronizing supply with interest and estimating execution all around.&quot; According to late investigations a gigantic measure of working capital is tied up in the Supply Chain. Process-arranged exercises in the Supply Chain, for example, capability, receipt and guarantee administration and back situated exercises, for example, administration of working capital, valorization and capital allocation and request discharge working capital packaged in the Supply Chain. This is acknowledged by a decrease in Days-Sales-Outstanding, which therefore abbreviates the Cash-to-Cash Sequence. Subsequently prompting higher liquidity and expanded investor esteem. Understanding that an enormous potential lies in Financial Supply Chain Management can have the effect between intensity or disappointment, particularly during emergency, as we encounter the Global Financial Disaster.

Abstract:
This paper presents a literature review of the use of the Just in Time methodology as a competitive differential in companies that seek to control and manage their stocks using this tool. The Just in Time philosophy has undergone several changes throughout its development process by Toyota Motor Company. The first concept was to increase profits. To do so would have to increase the selling price. Thinking about market competitiveness this reasoning would not hold for long and was soon rethought to something more logical and that could please customers in business. Coming to the conclusion that minimizing costs would increase profits. The first surveys pointed the direction from where to begin modifications in the production process, which would be in improving the flow. From this observation began the Just in Time production system that proposes: zero inventory, reduced process time, quality, production on demand, eliminate losses and defects, automate processes and identify standardized operations. The objective research goes through book searches referring to inventory management, materials management, production planning and control among others described in the references. Thus, the work studied the emergence and evolution of the Just in Time methodology and its evolution the advantages and disadvantages of implementation and the understanding of pull production

Abstract:
This article investigates integrated maintenance, production, and product quality control policy for a supply chain consisting of a single machine producing only one type of product, a main storage warehouse, and multi-purchases warehouses. The variation of the production rate and its use over time impact the manufacturing system’s degradation degree. Hence, the machine is subject to a random failure that directly affects the quality of the products. The goal of this study is to establish an optimal production and delivery planning with inventory management considering the production, holding, and delivery costs, and then an appropriate maintenance strategy, considering the influence of the production rate on the system degradation. Also, we provide a quality control policy to reduce the proportion of non-compliant products by using the statistical process control chart to forecast production. Forecasting the production aims to satisfy the varying demands during a finite horizon under service and quality levels. Numerical examples are presented to justify the effectiveness of the suggested strategy.

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: Significant progress in developing European national forest inventory (NFI) systems could ensure accurate evaluations of gross annual increment (GAI) and its components by employing direct measurements. However, the use of NFI data is insufficient for increasing the efficiency of forest management and the use of wood, as well as for meeting sustainable forestry needs. Specification of forest characteristics, such as GAI and its components, identification of the main factors that impact forest growth, accumulation of wood, and natural losses are among the key elements promoting the productivity of forest stands and possibilities of rational use of wood in large forest areas. The aims of this research were (a) to validate the quality of forest statistics provided by a standwise forest inventory (SFI) and (b) to reveal the potential benefits of rational wood use at the country level through the analysis of forest management results, which are based on GAI, including its components derived from the NFI. Materials and Methods: SFI and NFI data from 1998–2017 were collected from 5600 permanent sample plots and used to evaluate the main forest characteristics. Potential wood use was estimated based on the assumption that 50–70% of the total GAI is accumulated for final forest use. Results: Mean growing stock volume (GSV) is underestimated by 7–14% on average in the course of SFI. Therefore, continuous monitoring of the yield changes in forest stands, detection of factors negatively affecting yield and its accumulation, and regulation of these processes by silviculture measures could increase potential forest use in Lithuania. Conclusions: Implementation of sample-based NFI resulted in an improvement of forest characteristics and led to an increase in GSV and GAI. Continuously gathered data on GAI and its components are a prerequisite for efficient forest management and control of the use of wood.

Abstract:
Executive functions enable an individual to initiate and stop actions, track and modify behavior, and plan imminent behavior when faced with specific tasks and circumstances. This study, therefore, identified a connection between the executive functions and management efficacy of academic leaders of a State University in the Philippines. The Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function-Adult Version was used in a correlation analysis to gauge the executive functions of academic leaders and a researcher-made questionnaire was administered to determine their management efficacy. The study was conducted using t-scores, means, and Pearson r. The stronger the potential of academic leaders to carry out their management skills, the more their emotional regulation leans towards the borderline. As academic leaders' management skills become remarkable, the more they are predisposed to functioning on their own initiative and can control their actions in the light of the circumstances. Further, when academic leaders normally conduct change, self-monitoring, initiation, planning/organization, and task monitoring functions, they exemplify outstanding performance in their communication skills, adaptability, interpersonal relationships, and initiative, and imagination. But when their working memory, cognitive control, inhibition, and arrangement of materials is at the borderline, better interpersonal relationships, decision-making and judgment, and initiative and imagination are achieved.

Abstract:
This study is set to examine the relationship between working capital management policy and profitability of quoted food and beverages companies in Nigeria. The population comprises a sample of ten (10) food and beverage companies quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The study used secondary data for a period of ten (10) years (2005-2014) and was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the aid of Stata version 13. Two research hypotheses were formulated and tested. It was found that, there is no significant relationship between receivable collection period (RCP) policy and profitability of quoted food and beverage companies in Nigeria. However, it was recommended that the management should identify the level of inventory which allows for uninterrupted production but reduces the investment in raw materials and minimizes reordering cost and hence increases profitability. The management should reduce their RCP from 53 days on the average to at most 30 days by instituting adequate control and flexible credit policy.

Abstract:
Controlling the supply of raw materials belt conveyor is a very important management function because it is a vital company investment, both in terms of value and future prospects. Well-implemented inventory control management can trigger a company's success in production. In manufacturing companies there is often a delay in the arrival of material arrival due to various things, such as the bullwhip effect between the company with suppliers, companies with distributors or companies with buyers. The focus of this research is to know how big the occurrence of bullwhip effect and how to decrease the bullwhip effect that already happened. From the calculation results obtained a decrease in the value of the bullwhip effect from the original to PU White products 2,786 to 1,524, blue PU products 3,297 to 1,455, and PVC Green 2.025 to 1.5794.

Abstract:
The article reveals the main trends in the functioning of global supply chains in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and their impact on the activities of Ukrainian enterprises are identified. It is noted that the closure of borders between countries and the introduction of self-isolation regime caused a significant reduction in production capacity and the volume of international trade. Global supply chains have become very vulnerable and necessitate their revision and the search for alternative ways to deliver goods to end users. Since Ukraine is a country with an open market economy, this article summarizes the main challenges for import-dependent supply chains and makes proposals on ways to overcome them. The expediency of applying the concept of Lean-management in business processes management of refrigeration supply chains during a pandemic as a means of overcoming crisis situations and ensuring sustainable development are proved. The dynamics and structure analysis of the company LLC "Holod Engineering" income and expenses allowed to establish a tendency to reduce the profitability of the company's business and capital turnover, as well as increase the share of logistics costs in the production costs. The greatest impact on the growth of logistics costs have the inventory costs due to the processes of storage and orders completion and delivery delays, which lead to customer dissatisfaction and complaints. Methodical approaches to estimating the level of processes coordination in the supply chains of refrigeration equipment, calculation of supply lots optimal parameters, levels of raw materials and components stocks, production and storage capacity rationalization of the enterprise are substantiated. With the help of Shewhart's control charts, the coordination of business processes in the equipment supply chains were assessed and the sources of potential losses were identified. The technological and logistics processes optimization in terms of their cost, duration and quality of results takes into account not only individual processes of enterprises, but also interprocess connections between supply chain links. It is proposed to implement a number of organizational measures using the concept of lean management, which involves market integration, production process, procurement and sales in order to provide a high level of customer service. The efficiency of the proposed organizational changes and their impact on business profitability, inventory turnover, the amount of logistics costs and the quality of customer service are determined.

Abstract:
Spare parts management is a critical issue in the industrial field, alongside planning maintenance and logistics activities. For accurate classification in particular, the decision-makers can determine the optimal inventory management strategy. However, problems such as criteria selection, rules explanatory, and learning ability arise when managing thousands of spare parts for modern industry. This paper presents a deep convolutional neural network based on graph (G-DCNN) which will realize multi-criteria classification through image identification based on an explainable hierarchical structure. In the first phase, a hierarchical classification structure is established according to the causal relationship of multiple criteria; in the second phase, nodes are colored according to their criteria level status so that the traditional numerical information can be visible through graph style; in the third phase, the colored structures are transferred into images and processed by structure-modified convolutional neural network, to complete the classification. Finally, the proposed method is applied in a real-world case study to validate its effectiveness, feasibility, and generality. This classification study supplies a good decision support to improve the monitor-focus on critical component and control inventory which will benefit the collaborative maintenance.

Abstract:
While prior research has found that consumer-influenced production improves purchase intentions, the author proposes that it can counterintuitively backfire. This work demonstrates that when consumers have some control over production (e.g., ordering products on demand, customization, preordering), they have lower purchase intentions for products made with unethical processes (e.g., pollution, underpaid labor) than if they had no role in production (i.e., buying what is already in inventory). This effect reverses, however, with positive ethical production (e.g., recycled materials). Because consumers have direct responsibility for whether a product is made, feelings of anticipated guilt or gratification result depending on the ethicality of the production process. This work also proposes a novel threefold conceptualization of responsibility that can be used as managerial levers: direct responsibility, diffusion of responsibility, and broad responsibility. Field studies using Facebook’s advertising platform demonstrate positioning strategies for fair-trade brands and advocacy groups.
