Post-Kohlbergian developmental psychology has recognized the philosophical contribution of virtue ethics to the reclamation of character as an object of study in developmental psychology. In recent times there has been a realization that there has to be a corresponding development in virtue ethics. Developmental Virtue Ethics recognizes the continuous development of humans throughout their various stages of maturation and decline and conceptions of virtue are informed by such features in a thoroughly interdisciplinary way. Virtue is differentiated according to stage of life. Since development is continuous, Developmental Virtue Ethics applies to development towards maturity as much as to maturity itself. In this chapter I consider the roots of virtue in babies, prosocial behaviour and its relation to virtue, virtue in children, virtue in the mature but improving agent, and virtue in the aged.

Previous research on aged-based stereotypes in the workforce has often focused on stereotypes held regarding older workers. However, the nature of stereotypes of younger employees and the labels that help reinforce negative perceptions have not been fully explored. The author addresses this gap through a qualitative analysis of two samples: a group of young professionals relatively new to the workforce and a group of more mature professionals with a breadth of experience. This chapter explores three areas: (1) the labels “Millennial,” “Generation Y,” and “Young Professional” refer to younger employees in often negative ways; (2) these labels reinforce stereotypes which can help perpetuate stereotype threat, decreased performance, a negative organizational culture, and a breakdown in interactions and learning among other negative outcomes; and (3) employees can spend a significant amount of time and energy focusing on these labels to minimize their negative impacts.

Achilles’ childhood instructors included both Cheiron the centaur, whose role is downplayed in the poem, and his father’s retainer Phoenix, who serves to normalize the hero’s educational experience. In the course of the Iliad Achilles progresses from a naive, impetuous hero who experiences a crisis of disillusionment with a value system that has let him down, to a withdrawn warrior who rethinks the assumptions that governed his education, to a mature figure who experiences a crisis of empathy for King Priam of Troy, and who becomes an instructional figure in his turn as he offers his aged adversary consolation and advice.

Abstract The Primorsk-Emba province is one of the main oil and gas region of the Precaspian basin. The resources of the Primorsk-Emba oil and gas region range from 5 to 12 billion tons of oil and from 2 to 6 trillion m³ of natural gas. Pertamina Hulu Energi - Offshore North West Java, also known as PHE ONWJ, owns 426 subsea pipelines from which only 185 are active operating to support the PHE ONWJ’s production activity and the remaining 241 pipelines are inactive which their status is either remain idle or being preserved.
