La gestion des risques dans les régions montagneuses nécessite une caractérisation des extrêmes neigeux. Nous utilisons le cadre des processus max-stables, qui relient statistique des valeurs extrêmes et géostatistique, pour étudier la dépendance spatiale des maxima hivernaux de chutes de neige cumulées sur 3 jours et de hauteurs de neige dans les Alpes françaises. Deux questions sont abordées : la sélection de modèle et la non-stationnarité temporelle. Nous commençons par introduire une procédure de validation-croisée que nous utilisons pour évaluer les capacités de plusieurs processus max-stables à capturer la structure de dépendance spatiale des maxima de chutes de neige. Ensuite, nous mettons en évidence une baisse de la dépendance spatiale des chutes de neige extrêmes durant ces dernières décennies. Enfin, nous montrons comment modéliser des tendances temporelles dans une structure de dépendance spatiale des extrêmes à travers l'exemple des maxima de hauteurs de neige. Pour les extrêmes de chutes comme de hauteurs de neige, la dépendance spatiale est fortement impactée par le changement climatique, premièrement par l'effet de la hausse de la température sur la phase (neige ou pluie) de la précipitation, et ensuite par la baisse du cumul hivernal des chutes de neige.

Le choc septique demeure un grave problème de santé publique en raison de son incidence élevée et du taux élevé de morbimortalité. Les recommandations internationales concernant la prise en charge hémodynamique font une place à la vasopressine en seconde ligne chez les patients « réfractaires » à la noradrénaline. L’arginine-vasopressine a obtenu l’Autorisation européenne de mise sur le marché le 31 mai 2018. Ce médicament est disponible dans de nombreux pays. Pourtant, la Haute Autorité de santé vient de refuser l’inscription de l’arginine-vasopressine dans cette indication. Cet article met en lumière la discordance d’appréciation de l’évidence scientifique entre la Haute Autorité de santé et les nombreuses sociétés savantes qui ont endossé les recommandations de la Surviving Sepsis Campaign.

Abstract:

Abstract. We describe a formaldehyde (HCHO) retrieval algorithm for the Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS) that will be launched by the Korean Ministry of Environment in 2019. The algorithm comprises three steps: preprocesses, radiance fitting, and postprocesses. The preprocesses include a wavelength calibration, as well as interpolation and convolution of absorption cross sections; radiance fitting is conducted using a nonlinear fitting method referred to as basic optical absorption spectroscopy (BOAS); and postprocesses include air mass factor calculations and bias corrections. In this study, several sensitivity tests are conducted to examine the retrieval uncertainties using the GEMS HCHO algorithm. We evaluate the algorithm with the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) Level 1B irradiance/radiance data by comparing our retrieved HCHO column densities with OMI HCHO products of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (OMHCHO) and of the Quality Assurance for Essential Climate Variables project (OMI QA4ECV). Results show that OMI HCHO slant columns retrieved using the GEMS algorithm are in good agreement with OMHCHO, with correlation coefficients of 0.77–0.91 and regression slopes of 0.94–1.04 for March, June, September, and December 2005. Spatial distributions of HCHO slant columns from the GEMS algorithm are consistent with the OMI QA4ECV products, but relatively poorer correlation coefficients of 0.52–0.76 are found compared to those against the OMHCHO products. Also, we compare the satellite results with ground-based multi-axis differential optical absorption spectroscopy (MAX-DOAS) observations. OMI GEMS HCHO vertical columns are 9 %–25 % lower than those of MAX-DOAS at Haute-Provence Observatory (OHP) in France, Bremen in Germany, and Xianghe in China. We find that the OMI GEMS retrievals have less bias than the OMHCHO and OMI QA4ECV products at OHP and Bremen in comparison with MAX-DOAS.

ZusammenfassungGanz offenbar geschieht auf Reisen genau das, was in Deutschland auch geschieht: Kinder bekommen vergleichsweise banale Infekte und verletzen sich. Möglicherweise geschieht das häufiger als zu Hause, was seinen Grund zum einen in einer größeren Unsicherheit bei Unternehmungen abseits der gut eingeschliffenen täglichen Routine haben dürfte. Zum anderen sind es aber ohne Zweifel auch hygienische Verhältnisse, infrastrukturelle Eigenheiten und teilweise völlig veränderte persönliche Aktivitäten, die sich in einer größeren Schadenshäufigkeit manifestieren können. Berücksichtigt man, dass Deutsche jedes Jahr millionenfach ins Ausland reisen und dass der ADAC mit über sieben Millionen Versicherten über die am ehesten repräsentativen Schadenszahlen verfügt, kann man erfreut feststellen, dass Urlaubsreisen bereits auf dem aktuell erreichten Vorsorgeniveau besonders für junge Menschen eine sehr sichere Art sind, die Welt kennenzulernen.

Abstract:

Die vorliegende Untersuchung möchte einen Beitrag leisten zur Frage der Herkunft des modemen Kunstbegriffes. Im Gegenhalt gegen die bis heute vertretene Säkularisierungsthese, die auf der Voraussetzung fußt, man konne den Verlust des Kultwertes von Kunst einfach mit der Entfaltung ihrer Eigengesetzlichkeit gleichsetzen, wird der Gedanke eines heterogonen Ursprungs der Kunstautonornie erwogen. Darnit ist die Annahme einer nicht nur negativen Rolle verkntipft, die der Protestantismus und insbesondere das lutherische Adiaphorakonzept bei der Entwicklung des von Hause aus instrumentalistisch interpretierten Begriffes der Kunst von einer bloßen Zweckform zum ästhetischen Gegenstand gespielt haben.

Abstract:

O escritor francês Michel Butor (1926-2016) refletiu sobre a voz e os efeitos da vocalidade e da oralidade na tradução, enquanto criação literária, e na leitura enquanto performance. Para este presente ensaio, proponho um percurso de análise que se inicia com o livro sonoro Pensées à voix haute (BUTOR, 2017) e de sua relação com as teorias sobre a voz (Zumthor, 2018; Dolar, 2014; Cesarino, 2014; Cavarero, 2011; Meschonnic, 2006), passando pela técnica de registro sonoro e de tradução do escritor para a elaboração do poema “Manhattan invention” (BUTOR, 2008 [1962]; 2004), culminando na análise de seu livro para crianças Zoo (BUTOR, 2001) do ponto de vista da formação do leitor na infância e da performance da leitura em voz alta. Butor, analisado segundo os teóricos da voz, imprime na tradução e na leitura o que há de mais contemporâneo dentro dos estudos discursivos: a abertura às múltiplas vozes a partir da unicidade vocálica.

IntroductionThe German physician and poet Justinus Kerner (1786–1862), Swabian public health officer in Weinsberg, is well known as an allround, even an epoch-making personality in his time and a natural scientist typical for late romanticism. His greatest merit is not due to his poetic scripts, but to his scientific work. This begins with his medical dissertation “Observata de functione singularum partium auris”, a mine of experimental behaviourism.ObjectivesThe aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of Franz Anton Mesmer (1734–1815) on Kerner's way of treating patients.MethodsA literature research was done on Kerner and mesmerism.ResultsKerner's first contact with animal magnetism was in 1797, when he was magnetized and healed by Dr. Eberhard Gmelin, one of the first mesmerian doctors in Germany, because of his nervous stomach. With the “Seeress of Prevorst” the author ventured to advance into deep layers of the soul unknown so far. During the years 1826–1829 Justinus Kerner treated Friederike Hauffe (1801–1829), the “Seeress of Prevorst”, at his Weinsberg domicile. In the year 1829 he published the description of her life and disease with the title “The Seeress of Prevorst, being revelations concerning the inner-life of man, and the interdiffusion of a world of spirits in the one we inhabit”.ConclusionsKerner was very much influenced by Mesmer and left volumes of psycho-pathological case histories that helped to prepare a way for a medicine more psychotherapeutically founded.Disclosure of interestThe author has not supplied his/her declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:

This work motivates and applies operational methodology to simulation of quantum statistics of separable qubit X states. Three operational algorithms for evaluating separability probability distributions are put forward. Building on previous findings, the volume function characterizing the separability distribution is determined via quantum measurements of multi-qubit observables. Three measuring states, one for each algorithm are generated via (i) a multi-qubit channel map, (ii) a unitary operator generated by a Hamiltonian describing a non-uniform hypergraph configuration of interactions among 12 qubits, and (iii) a quantum walk CP map in a extended state space. Higher order CZ gates are the only tools of the algorithms hence the work associates itself computationally with the Instantaneous Quantum Polynomial-time Circuits (IQP), while wrt possible implementation the work relates to the Lechner-Hauke-Zoller (LHZ) architecture of higher order coupling. Finally some uncertainty aspects of the quantum measurement observables are discussed together with possible extensions to non-qubit separable bipartite systems.

Abstract:

Cette étude a examiné les effets de la stimulation bilatérale pendant le rappel de souvenirs désagréables suivi d'association libre, de manière similaire à la phase 4 de la psychothérapie EMDR. Quarante-six sujets sains féminins ont été affectés de manière aléatoire à l'une des trois conditions : mouvements oculaires bilatéraux (MOB), yeux fixes avec des mouvements en arrière-plan (MAP), ou contrôle par yeux fixes (Point), chacune se déroulant avec le rappel d'un souvenir modérément désagréable et chacune étant suivie d'une association libre avec le souvenir. Les enregistrements électroencéphalographiques ont été effectués sur ces participantes pendant la minute d'association libre avec le souvenir initial après chacune des cinq administrations des conditions. Les résultats n'ont révélé que des tendances à la hausse de la cohérence interhémisphérique bêta après les MOB. Toutefois, des augmentations statistiquement significatives des cohérences thêta et bêta frontales droites ont été montrées après les MOB, avec des tendances à la hausse similaires pour les thêta et bêta frontales gauches et pour les gamma frontales droites. Les cartes d'électrodes corticaux sont présentées pour ces effets de cohérence bêta. Les évaluations de vivacité de l'imagerie et de la valence émotionnelle ont été recueillies après chaque série de mouvements oculaires plus les associations libres, et ont montré une diminution significative pour toutes les conditions. Les résultats sont discutés dans le contexte de la proposition d'un modèle intégré de cohérence corticale en 2 étapes. Des suggestions sont formulées pour les recherches futures, y compris une investigation des implications possibles pour le traitement des traumatismes crâniens.
