Abstract:
Chemical graph theory establishes a connection between the properties of molecules and their corresponding molecular graphs. A topological index is a graph invariant that characterizes the graph's structure and remains unaffected by graph automorphisms. In chemical graph theory, degree-based topological indices are particularly significant, offering crucial insights into the structural features of molecules. In this work, we introduce the maximum independent bond set polynomial $MIBSP(H;x,y)$, a powerful tool for deriving various degree-based topological indices. We specifically apply $MIBSP(H

The paper formulates conditions under which the roots closest to the imaginary axis (critical roots) of the characteristic equation of a linearized system are real for the maximum possible degree of stability of the closed-loop control system of a technological process with pure delay. For the parameters of the controllers corresponding to the maximum degree of stability, these roots are multiples. Their multiplicity order is one more than the number of coefficients in the transfer function of the controller. It is demonstrated that for a typical technological control object, these conditions

We investigate the dynamics and stability of nonlinear time-delayed one-degree-of-freedom systems possessing quadratic and cubic nonlinearities and subjected to external and parametric disturbances. Due to the time-delay terms, the trivial solution of the unforced system undergoes Hopf bifurcations. We use the method of multiple scales to determine the normal forms of the Hopf bifurcations and hence determine whether they are locally supercritical or subcritical. Then, we use a combination of a path following scheme, the normal forms, and the method of harmonic balance to calculate and trace

Abstract:
Natural polymer blend films composed of chitosan and silk fibroin were prepared by solution casting technique with various ratios of chitosan to silk fibroin, using glutaraldehyde as crosslinking agent. The effects of the ratio of chitosan to silk fibroin and crosslinking agent on mechanical properties, swelling behavior and drug releasing property of the blend films were studied. For the swelling behavior, the blend films exhibited a dramatic change in the degree of swelling when immersed in acidic solutions. The blend film with 80% chitosan content had the maximum degree of swelling. It appe

Abstract:
Background: It is well known that edema can persist after meningioma resection, and sometimes it is not resolved after this time. This study aimed to establish the relationship between a series of variables associated with meningioma or surgery, and the duration of postoperative edema. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of 77 meningiomas resected at our institution between January 2016 and January 2018 with a maximum follow-up period of up to three years. The independent variables collected were demographics, tumor location, relationship with the sinuses (invasion/contact), relationsh

Abstract:
This paper evaluates under which conditions different Taylor-type rules lead to determinacy and expectational stability (E-stability) of rational expectations equilibrium in a simple New Keynesian small open economy model, developed by Gali and Monacelli (2005). In particular, we extend the Bullard and Mitra (2002) results of determinacy and E-stability in a closed economy to this small open economy framework. Our results highlight an important link between the Taylor principle and both determinacy and learnability of equilibrium in small open economies. More importantly, the degree of opennes
