Generalized Maxwell distribution law is used to explain some empirical relations concerning neutron scattering. These relations are concerned with the neutron and photon scattered fluxes in relation with wave lengths, flux path and energy. Optical precursor is the sharp optical pulse front that does not show delay in absorptive media. In this thesis, optical precursor behavior in rubidium (Rb) vapor was investigated in the picoseconds regime. An amplified femtosecond laser was shaped to a 7-ps square pulse with sharp rising and trailing edges. The development of a numerical model for analyzing the effect of the nano-particles’ Brownian motion on the heat transfer is described. By using the Maxwell velocity distribution relations to calculate the most possible velocity of fluid molecules at certain temperature gradient location around the nano-particle, the interaction between fluid molecules and one single nano-particle is analyzed and calculated.
