The article analyzes the dynamics of approaches to positioning the image of the mayor of Moscow for the period from 2016 to 2018. The data obtained in the framework of final qualifying studies in 2016 and 2018 are compared in the direction of preparation "Advertising and public relations". The article analyzes the peculiarities of the situation of the charitable educational institution-the Moscow commercial school-during the Patriotic War of 1812. The Council of merchants-trustees headed by the Moscow city mayor A. A. Kumanin delayed the evacuation of the school from Moscow and in fact abandoned it to its fate. The patroness of the school, Empress Maria Feodorovna, had to help the director during the evacuation and at the initial stage of the return of the school to the burned Moscow.
