Abstract:

The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the role of consequences in the maintenance and termination of risk-taking behavior. In 1987 Ladouceur, Mayrand, and Tourigny proposed a quantitative measure of risk-taking based on roulette playing, but this metric did not include the outcome of that risk. Therefore, their original equation may be adjusted to incorporate a concurrent analysis of the consequences of risk-taking to understand better individual differences with respect to risk-taking behavior. An experiment with six subjects, 3 experienced and 3 inexperienced, who played roulette was used to evaluate the accuracy of the equation's predictions. Replication with a much larger sample is required to substantiate the suggestion that this adjustment would be more accurate than the original equation in predicting future risk-taking.

Abstract:

The C heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein particle (hnRNP) protein bind to nascent pre-mRNA and may participate in assembly of the early prespliceosome. Ser/Thr phosphorylation of the C1 hnRNP protein in HeLa nuclear extracts regulates its binding to pre-mRNA (S. H. Mayrand, P. Dwen, and T. Pederson, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 90:7764-7768, 1993). We have now further investigated the phosphorylation cycle of the C1 hnRNP protein, with emphasis on its regulation. Pretreatment of nuclear extracts with micrococcal nuclease eliminated the phosphorylation of C1 hnRNP protein, but pretreatment with DNase did not, suggesting a dependence on RNA. Oligodeoxynucleotide-targeted RNase H cleavage of U1, U2, and U4 small nuclear RNAs did not affect the phosphorylation of C1 hnRNP protein. However, cleavage of nucleotides 78 to 95, but not other regions, of U6 small nuclear RNA resulted in an inhibition of the dephosphorylation step of the C1 hnRNP protein phosphorylation cycle. This inhibition was as pronounced as that seen with the serine/threonine protein phosphatase inhibitor okadaic acid. C1 hnRNP protein dephosphorylation could be completely restored by the addition of intact U6 RNA. Add-back experiments with mutant RNAs further delineated the minimal region essential for C1 protein dephosphorylation as residing in nucleotides 85 to 92 of U6 RNA. These results illuminate a hitherto unanticipated function of U6 RNA: the modulation of a phosphorylation-dephosphorylation cycle of C1 hnRNP protein that influences the binding affinity of this protein for pre-mRNA. This newly revealed function of U6 RNA is likely to play a very early role in the prespliceosome assembly pathway, prior to U6 RNA's entry into the mature spliceosome's active center.

ZusammenfassungDie Qualitative Inhaltsanalyse (QIA) wird in der deutschen Rehabilitationsforschung häufig angewendet. Im vorliegenden Artikel wird eine kurze Entstehungsgeschichte der Qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse aufgezeigt. Es folgt die ausführlichere Darstellung des von Mayring vorgeschlagenen Verfahrens der QIA in seinen drei Varianten: zusammenfassende, explikative sowie strukturierende QIA und seines allgemeinen Ablaufmodells. Des Weiteren wird auf die Bedeutung des Kategoriensystems und der verschiedenen Formen der Kategorienbildung (deduktiv vs. induktiv) eingegangen. Diese Ausführungen werden durch Überlegungen zur Nutzung von Software, Präsentation der Ergebnisse und Quantifizierungen ergänzt. Abschließend werden der Aspekt der Vertrauenswürdigkeit der Analyse und die von Mayring vorgeschlagenen Gütekriterien für qualitative (inhaltsanalytische) Forschung aufgegriffen.

Abstract:

In the late nineteenth century, the distance from Qui Nhon to Kontum – a trip of about two hundred kilometers – was nearly insurmountable. The route most travellers took led from the port town in southern Annam out across a narrow coastal plain of cultivated fields before crossing rivers and gorges, and ascending rocky mountains. Then the path leveled out on a high plateau of extreme weather and dense forests where fever, tigers, and unwelcoming local communities intimidated even the hardiest of travellers. Though well within the borders of French-controlled Annam, there was little Vietnamese – and even less French – about these highlands. The region was inhabited almost exclusively by a variety of indigenous groups like the Sedang, the Bahnar, and thejarai, who were both ethnically distinct from the majority Vietnamese population of Annam, and politically independent from the emperor in Hué as well as the French colonial administration. The region was so isolated from the rest of the colony that Frenchmen invoked the Vietnamese name for the area, calling it the Pays Moï– ‘savages' country’ – and even the missionaries, the only Europeans to live in the region until the early 1900s, referred to their headquarters in Kontum as the ‘Mission des Sauvages’. It was an unlikely focal point for one of the most divisive controversies in the French empire.

Ketiga tahapan ini diidentifikasi penulis sebagai nilai kemajemukan Indonesia, sekaligus mengimplementasikan semboyan nasional “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika”. Two new species of Polypedilum (Asheum) (Diptera: Chironomidae: Chironominae) are described and figured as adult males, P. (A.) sofiae sp. n. collected in the states of Mato Grosso and Rondônia and P. (A.) mayrahu sp. n. collected in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Abstract:

Diese Untersuchung beschreibt die Bedeutung von Caring aus der Sicht der Patienten mit chronischen Wunden bei Peripher Arteriellen Verschlusskrankheiten (PAVK). Folgende Fragestellungen wurden formuliert: 1) Welche Bedeutung haben chronische Wunden für die Alltagsbewältigung der Patienten? 2) Welche Bedeutung hat Caring für Patienten mit chronischen Wunden? Für die Untersuchung wurde der qualitative Forschungsansatz in Anlehnung an Mayring gewählt. Die Auswahl der zu befragenden Personen erfolgte nach der Methode der zweckgebundenen Stichprobe. Es wurden 12 Interviews durchgeführt bei sieben Frauen und fünf Männern im Alter zwischen 69 und 86 Jahren. Die Datenanalyse wurde mittels der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring vorgenommen. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass der Alltag der Patienten von den Auswirkungen der chronischen Wunden stark beeinträchtigt ist (u.a. infolge Schmerzen, Schlafmangel, eingeschränkter Mobilität) und verschiedene Bewältigungsstrategien eingesetzt werden (u.a. die Situationen annehmen, positives Denken, Hoffen). Bezüglich Caring: Diese Dimension der Pflege wurde von den Betroffenen sowohl im Kontakt mit Fachpersonen als auch mit den Angehörigen erlebt. Um das Erleben von Caring zu schildern, benützten die Patienten die gleichen Ausdrücke (beispielsweise «sich kümmern, mit jemandem sprechen») für das Verhalten der Angehörigen und das der Fachpersonen. Die Betroffenen erwarten von den Fachpersonen insbesondere eine wertschätzende Haltung. Diese wird von den Patienten häufig als «lieb und nett sein» umschrieben, eine von den Pflegenden wenig geschätzte Zuweisung. In dieser Untersuchung drückten die Patienten damit aber explizit aus, dass sie sich ernst genommen und umsorgt fühlten. Dies sind wichtige Voraussetzungen, damit die Patienten fähig sind, ihre Behandlungskonzepte zu verstehen und umzusetzen. Fazit: Caring hat einen maßgeblichen Einfluss auf die Qualität der Pflege und muss deshalb bewusster Bestandteil der Pflegehandlungen sein.

This paper is the result of the study of an autobiography entitled “Le Voile de la Peur” by Samia Shariff. The study includes a manifestation of gender inequality proposed by Fakih; marginalization, subordination, stereotype, violence, and double burdens (workload). Data collecting and analyzing processes were conducted by a qualitative content analysis using an inductive model designed by Philipp Mayring. From the data analysis, the study found the manifestation in the form of subordination, stereotype and violence. Radical feminism and patriarchy theories are used as a theoretical framework to find and reveal how the gender inequality is realized in Algerian family and society.

Abstract:

Zusammenfassung. Hintergrund: Durch eine Delphi-Studie wurde bereits das Konzept «Reizabschirmung» untersucht. Dennoch blieben einige Wissenslücken offen, welche nun weiter untersucht wurden. Ziel: Untersuchung des Konzepts «Umgang mit Reizüberflutung in der stationären Psychiatrie» inklusive dessen Teilkonzepte und spezifischen Maßnahmen. Methode: Analyse von qualitativen Daten zu «Reizabschirmung» mittels zusammenfassender Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring. Ergebnisse: Es konnte eine theoretische Beschreibung und Definition des Konzepts erreicht werden. Zudem konnten drei Teilkonzepte identifiziert und theoretisch definiert werden (Reizabschirmung, Modulation der Umgebungsfaktoren, Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe). Schlussfolgerungen: Die konzeptuellen Beschreibungen liefern einen weiteren Schritt zur Sensibilisierung der professionellen Akteure mit dem Themengebiet. Zudem konnte eine theoretische Grundlage für weitere empirische Untersuchungen geschaffen werden.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan budaya Sunda pada novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode analisis isi. Sumber data penelitian ini yakni novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado. Adapun data penelitian ini berupa kutipan kata, kalimat, wacana, atau paragraf yang menunjukan unsur budaya Sunda. Model analisis data menggunakan analisis data Philip Mayring. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bentuk budaya Sunda pada novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna karya Remy Sylado dikemas melalui unsur-unsur kebudayaan. Unsur budaya tersebut mencakup (1) sistem pengetahuan sejarah dan kesenian Sunda. (2) Seni tembang. (3) Seni musik. (4) Organisasi sosial berkenaan dengan perkawinan adat Sunda. Abstract:

Im Rahmen des Beitrags wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwiefern eine Lehrerfortbildung zum »Professionellen Umgang mit heterogenen Lerngruppen« heterogenitätssensibles Handeln von Lehrkräften zu fördern vermag. Dazu wurde die Fortbildungspraxis mithilfe von Beobachtungsprotokollen und verschriftlichten Reflexionsaufgaben aus zwei Fortbildungsrunden systematisch erfasst. Mithilfe einer inhaltsanalytischen Auswertung (Mayring 2015) und anschließender Triangulation dieser beiden Datenquellen konnten die Lernprozesse der Teilnehmenden nachgezeichnet werden. Dabei bildete die forschungsbasierte Entwicklung, Implementation, Evaluation und Weiterentwicklung des Fortbildungsangebotes nach dem Design-Based Research Ansatz den Rahmen der Studie. Ein zentrales Ergebnis sind die unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen der Bewusstheit der eigenen Beobachtungsund Handlungspraxis der Lehrkräfte sowie die Ausprägungen der Bereitschaft, die Beobachtungsund Handlungspraxis weiterzuentwickeln. Die Teilnehmenden differenzieren diese Ausprägungen im Verlauf der einzelnen Fortbildungsphasen aus.

Zusammenfassung Untersucht wurden subjektive bio-psycho-soziale Auswirkungen chronischer Herz- und Gefäßerkrankungen, Bewältigungsstrategien und Formen sozialer Unterstützung bei Rehabilitanden in besonderen beruflichen Problemlagen (BBPL). Für die qualitative Untersuchung wurden 17 Patienten (48,9±7,0 Jahre, 13 männl.) mit BBPL (SIMBO-C>30) in leitfadengestützten Interviews befragt. Die Auswertung erfolgte softwaregestützt nach dem inhaltsanalytischen Ansatz von Mayring. Im Rahmen der Krankheitsauswirkungen benannten die Patienten soziale, einschließlich beruflicher Aspekte mit 62% der Aussagen deutlich häufiger als physische oder psychische Faktoren (9 bzw. 29%). Angewandte Bewältigungsstrategien und erfahrene Unterstützungsleistungen richteten sich jedoch überwiegend auf körperliche Einschränkungen (70 bzw. 45%). Obgleich soziale Krankheitsauswirkungen für die befragten Rehabilitanden subjektiv bedeutsam waren, gelang die Entwicklung geeigneter Bewältigungsstrategien nur unzureichend.

Zusammenfassung. In einer explorativen Pilotstudie wurde 2016 eine kleine Gruppe ( n = 6) immigrierter, geflüchteter und asylsuchender Eltern zum Übergang und zur Partizipation ihrer Kinder am deutschen Bildungssystem befragt. In halbstrukturierten leitfadengestützten Gruppeninterviews konnten Mütter und Väter getrennt voneinander über ihre Erfahrungen zur Teilhabe am Bildungssystem sprechen. Die Auswertung folgte der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring (2010) in einer Kombination aus deduktiven und induktiven Basisprozeduren. Theorien zu Transition, Mehrsprachigkeit und erfahrener Unterstützung bildeten den wissenschaftlichen Hintergrund. Die Ergebnisse der Studie verdeutlichen zum einen die Bedeutung von Unterstützungsnetzwerken für die Verständigung von Eltern mit den Einrichtungen über die Teilhabe am Bildungssystem, zum anderen des Aufenthaltsstatus für elterliche Strategien im Hinblick auf die Mehrsprachigkeit ihrer Kinder.

Zusammenfassung. Theoretischer Hintergrund: Einflüsse von therapeutenorientiertem Kompetenz-Feedback in der Psychotherapieausbildung wurden bislang wenig untersucht. Fragestellung: Wie gehen Ausbildungstherapeuten mit Feedback um? Welchen Einfluss hat ein regelmäßiges Kompetenz-Feedback auf die Qualität psychotherapeutischer Behandlungen (insbesondere Therapiesitzungen, therapeutische Beziehung, Person des Therapeuten, Supervision)? Methode: Elf Therapeuten wurden mithilfe eines halbstrukturierten Interviewleitfadens befragt. Die Auswertung erfolgte mittels qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring (2015) . Ergebnisse: Das auf Basis der Interviews erstellte Kategoriensystem umfasste die Kategorien „Erwartungen an das Feedback“, „Wahrnehmung des Feedbacks“, „Verarbeitung von und Umgang mit Feedback“, „Folgen, Auswirkungen und Veränderungen durch Feedback“ sowie „Verbesserungswünsche“. Schlussfolgerungen: Therapeuten streben eine Umsetzung des Feedbacks an, welches sich auf die Behandlung, die Supervision, die eigene Person und die therapeutische Beziehung auswirkt.

Este artigo tem como foco a análise do conto “Oso Blanco” da escritora porto-riquenha Mayra Santos-Febres a fim de perceber a presença dos elementos insólitos como estratégia discursiva reveladora da comunhão de corpos impossibilitados de aproximações tangíveis. Percebe-se a constituição do insólito como metáfora epistemológica, seja na imagem da mulher aprisionada em um ciclo burocrático, seja de um braço que ganha autonomia frente ao seu corpo, ou ainda na transformação do edifício de um presídio em narrador e protagonista do enredo. Os sentidos do insólito ganham dimensões históricas e políticas, apontando, como metáfora epistemológica, os sujeitos cindidos.
