Abstract:
The aim of this study is to investigate crustal structures from East Cameroon, using aeromagnetic data. The modeling of aeromagnetic data is conducted using the Oasis Montaj 8.0 software. The total magnetic intensity map reduced to the equator (RTE-TMI) shows important anomalies features, namely, the Northern East magnetic anomalies of high amplitude, the Southwest where very low values of the magnetic intensity were observed, and a corridor with negative values relatively high, separating the anomalies. The horizontal gradient map shows on the one hand brittle and folded structures carried out in the area of study and on the other hand various rectilinear, narrow, and short-wave anomalies that can be classified as a family of little faults. The maxima observed on the RTE-TMI maps are correlated to intrabasement contacts; and the map derived from Euler’s solutions permitted to evaluate the depth of the geological accidents observed from the other filters. This map also reveals new faults with a depth greater than 5000 m. The lineaments identified in the Southwestern part could be linked to the Pan-African orogeny and seem to correspond to deep-seated basement structures, which are referred to the tectonic boundary between Congo Craton and the Pan-African orogeny belt. A 23/4-D modeling confirmed the observations derived from the RTE-TMI and HGM maps analyses. It shows intrusive bodies composed of gneiss and porphyroid granite and some domes with their roof situated at various depths not exceeding 1800 m from the surface. The structural map of the study area shows the trending of the structural features observed, namely, NE-SW, NW-SE, ENE-WSW, and WNW-ESE, respectively, while the E-W and N-S are secondary orientation of the observed tectonic evidence. Moreover, circular anomalies observed over the area are assimilated to intrusions of high magnetic materials or to granitic domes.

Abstract:
Orahu is a tradition of deliberation which is well known in the life system of the people of South Nias, especially in the areas of Maniamölö, Onolalu, To'ene and Mazinö. Orahu is carried out in every important activity in the community, for example discussing problems related to the village, death events, weddings, Fa'ulu and Mambu Ana'a parties (ceremony to increase social status or traditional parties) and others. Orahu to a large extent is called Orahua Mbanua, and is usually performed at Ewali Sawolo or Ewali Orahua (the courtyard in front of the house of the most influential nobleman or Balö Ji'ulu). The Orahua Mbanua was followed by the Si'ulu (nobles), Si'ila (traditional leaders) and Ono Mbanua (the whole community). This research was aimed at describing as well as revealing the local wisdoms of Orahu. This research applied qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were collected using interview techniques and literature study. The research results shows that Orahu tradition emphasizes on the solidarity and wise decision taking which become a very important aspect in the life system of Nias people. It was in this open forum that all village problems were discussed, and decided how to handle them. In ancient times, Orahu was also used as a trial and for determining punishment for violators of village customs. Orahu is usually done at the bale (village meeting hall), but to a lesser extent, it can also be carried out at home.

Abstract:
<p>Accurate analysis of wind characteristics for a particular site is the first step towards wind energy resource installation. In this study, the onus is to determine the wind energy potential characteristics, and the best representative probability density function, for the Abong Mbang weather station and its immediate environ. The Chi square, coefficient of determination and root mean square error were used as the discriminating goodness of fit tests. Results show that the gamma distribution is the best representative of the wind speed regime, closely followed by the Weibull distribution. We equally study the feasibility of the installation of wind turbine systems at this site based on the Weibull and the Rayleigh models. It is observed that Abong Mbang is characterized by very low wind speeds, higher shape parameters than the scale parameters and consequently very low power density values. Abong Mbang is not technically feasible for the installation of small wind turbine.</p>

Abstract:
Keprakan in Yogyakarta Wayang Style: A Case Study on Ki Hadi Sugito’s Wayang Performance. Keprakan is the sound produced by hand or foot cempala slapped on the puppets box in a wayang performance. Keprakan becomes part of the music for wayang and has an important role in building a performing aesthetic. This study aims to describe and understand the keprakan techniques and patterns in wayang performance. The data are obtained through observations on twenty of Ki Hadi Sugito’s wayang performances. The musical analysis is done by looking at the relationship between keprakan with the musical types and the created atmosphere scene. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the keprak sound has two main functions, namely as signs or clues from the puppet master to the musicians, and to provide a dramatic atmosphere. Keprakan pattern is formed of two elements, namely neteg and mlatuk. Of these two patterns produce other patterns such as mbanyu tumetes, ngeceg, nisir, nduduk, and geter.

Abstract:
Abstract:

Abstract:
The perforation plates and vessel-ray pitting of tropical hardwoods are typical features that make it possible to mark species within a botanical family. This study aims to bring out a consistent and robust framework for a clear distinction through anatomical features among various Ekop woods based on usual nomenclature on trade. Perforations plates and vessel-ray pitting are determining components for the classification of the species. Indeed, several species exploited under the trade name Ekop because of their grain, color, and wooden decoration patterns do not belong to the same taxonomic class. With the natural structure of cells and their intervessel pits observed in xylem and phloem, it appears that the perforation plates and the vessel-ray pitting are decisive components for the classification of Ekop species. Forty-three wood specimens of Ekop were collected from forests in Ebolowa, Mbalmayo, and Abong Mbang. In addition, 155 microscopic sections of Ekop slides with at least 3 representatives of identified species were observed. Thus, macroscopic observations through a hand magnifying glass were performed on wood carrots. Then, the microscopic sections of slides in the first 63 features of the International Association of Wood Anatomists list were analyzed. Correlations were observed between vessels elements and other main features through component analysis. Four groups of Ekop were differentiated by gathering in each genus a matrix of similar features across their vessels groupings, perforation plates, and vessel-ray pittings. A tabular key was used to further define the identity of the Ekop species. This study makes it possible to recognize Ekop wood beyond the dendrological aspects of vegetative and reproductive organs. Finally, a few typical features used for a precise demarcation were identified, for a taxonomic classification within the Ekop group.

Danggalimu, Novice Umbu Kamoza. "From Holy Fool to The Holy Christ: Menguak Makna Teologis Spiritualitas di Balik Lagu “Judas” oleh Lady Gaga." Aradha: Journal of Divinity, Peace and Conflict Studies 1, no. 2 (August 31, 2021): 125. http://dx.doi.org/10.21460/aradha.2021.12.616.

Abstract:
AbstractThe emergence and development of Popular Culture tend to be misunderstood and disregard as a shallow culture. Due to its sensational and eccentric display, the product of Popular Culture is always considered wrong morality of what people believe as a high morality. The song, “Judas”, sung by Lady Gaga, is one of products of Popular Culture which now becomes controversy. The controversy, then, becomes wider because Gaga brings forward to show to the public Judas who in the Bible both Protestant and Catholic was the traitor and symbol of sins. The video clip of this song is also regarded as a harassment of Jesus in which full of expression of sex, violence, hedonism, and even vulgar. Now, the question is that is it true that the meaning of Judas shown by the lyrics is to blaspheme Christianity and to mislead people by using Judas as a shield? Then, what is truly the conception of sins in this song so that it becomes controversy? To find out the answer, in this paper, I will use semiotic analysis method. The method is to analyze to read the text from social perspective by using code or message (containing symbols and meaning) as the starting point, without ignoring the context and reader. Afterwards, the text of this song will be dialogued in Christi an theology, so it can be found like what the theological response to this song is. I also hope the result can show us that popular culture shown by popular music is not always shallow and vicious. However, there is ethical message and moral value which should be consideration or reflection of how the people undergo either their private live or their religion.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a severe, often fatal illness in humans and nonhuman primates caused by the Ebola virus. The recently approved rVSV-EBOV vaccine is not available in many high-risk countries hence prevention is paramount. The design of effective prevention interventions requires an understanding of the factors that expose communities at risk. It was based on this that we investigated the Baka community of Abong-Mbang Health District in tropical rain forest of Cameroon. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted with participants randomly selected from 13 villages in Abong-Mbang by multi-stage cluster sampling. A questionnaire was administered to them to collect demographic information, data on knowledge of EVD, their feeding and health-seeking behaviour. Data was analyzed using the chi-square test. Knowledge of EVD was assessed using an 8 item Morisky Scale. An adapted Threat Capability Basic Risk Assessment Guide was used to determine their risk of exposure to infection. Results A total of 510 participants, most of whom were hunters (31.4%), farmers (29.8%), and had primary education (62.7%), were included in this study. Although 83.3% participants had heard of EVD, most (71%) did not know its cause. Their source of information was mainly informal discussions in the community (49%). Misconceptions were identified with regards to the cause and mode of transmission. Only 43.1% accepted EVD could be transmitted from human-to-human. Generally, participants’ knowledge of EVD was poor. Demographic factors such as level of education, occupation and ethnic group significantly affected knowledge of EVD. The majority of participants were at a very high risk of exposure to infection as they consumed various forms of bush meat and were involved in other risky practices such as scarification and touching of corpses. Although over half of participants seek medical care, most of them preferred traditional medicine. Socio-cultural and service-related factors were deterrent factors to medical care. Conclusion Participants generally had poor knowledge of EVD and were at high risk of infection. We recommend rigorous sensitization campaigns in the study area to educate the population on EVD and clarify the misconceptions identified. EVD surveillance is recommended particularly as outbreaks have often been reported in the Congo Basin.
