Abstract Abstract 1767 B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a clonal CD5+CD19+ B-lymphocyte cancer with a B cell receptor (BCR) immunoglobulin heavy chain variable (IGHV) gene sequence that may be classified as unmutated (U-CLL) or mutated (M-CLL) depending on the level of IGHV mutation. Because U-CLL patients have a worse clinical prognosis than M-CLL patients, the structure of the BCR and the signaling consequences of BCR occupancy by antigen are considered crucial to disease development and possibly progression. Moreover, nearly one third of CLL patients express a CLL BCR that is vi

A four-year field experiment was conducted in north-eastern Poland. The aim of the study was to determine the direct and residual effects of increasing doses of meat and bone meal (MBM) on the available phosphorus content of soil and the total phosphorus content in crops above ground biomass or grain. Experimental factor I was MBM dose (1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 t/ha/year, and 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 t/ha/every second year), and experimental factor II was the year of the study (four consecutive years). Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) increases after a meat meal in several species. The mechanism of this phenomenon is unknown and the excretory and metabolic responses largely unexplored. We examined in humans the nature of the hemodynamic response to a meat meal, the role of salt and water load in this response, and the associated renal excretory responses. Ten normal volunteers were studied after eating an average of 3.5 g/kg body wt of lean cooked beef steak and, on a separate day, after ingesting an amount of sodium and water equivalent to that in the steak. Average GFR increased by 28% for

Frequency analysis of streamflow is critical for water-resources system planning, water conservancy projects and the mitigation of hydrological extremes events. In this study, a maximum entropy-Archimedean copula-based Bayesian network (MECBN) method has been proposed for frequency analysis of monthly streamflow in the Kaidu River Basin, which integrates the maximum entropy-Archimedean copula (MEAC) and Bayesian network methods into a general framework. MECBN is effective for representing the uncertainties that exist in model representation, preserving the distributional characteristics of str

Thirty pigs (Slovak White Meaty or crossbred Slovak White Meaty × Pietrain) were tested for the malignant hyperthermia (MH) syndrome using a DNA based test. Pigs were allotted to control and experimental groups (of 10 pigs each, equal for normal – NN and he-terozygotes – Nn and equal for barrows and gilts) with 2 pigs per pen. Pigs receiving the control treatment were fed soybean meal diets. In all diets fed to experiment
