Abstract:
The binary absolute value detector is crucial in today's computer domain, especially in computer storage and analysis systems. It ensures the integrity and accuracy of data. Therefore, this paper proposes an optimized design of a 4-bit absolute value detector aimed at finding the circuit with the lowest energy consumption. Firstly, this paper introduces a design different from the traditional absolute value calculator, resulting in a reduced total number of stages in the circuit. Secondly, this paper calculates the delay of the main path can be using the logic effort formula and determine the specific gate sizing value for each logic component. Finally, this paper adjusts sizing and power supply ( ) ratio to achieve the lowest energy consumption at 1.5 times the minimum delay. The detector exhibits fewer critical path gates, resulting in lower average delay compared to traditional designs and features an even number of gates which means it has lower delay fluctuations across different inputs.

AbstractAn analytic approach based on the homotopy analysis method is proposed to obtain the limit cycles of highly nonlinear oscillating equations with absolute value terms. The non-smoothness of the absolute value terms is handled by means of an iteration approach with Fourier expansion. Two typical examples are employed to illustrate the validity and flexibility of this approach. It has general meanings and thus can be used to solve many other highly nonlinear oscillating systems with this kind of non-smoothness.

The nonsmoothness of absolute value terms is handled by means of Fourier expansion, and the convergence is accelerated by using the iteration method. Two typical examples which can not be solved by the method of averaging of perturbation technique are employed to illustrate the validity and flexibility of this approach. Rather, accurate approximations are obtained using the HAM-based approach. Abstract:
<strong>ABSTRACT: </strong>Indonesia, the world&#39;s largest supplier of coal, may profit from the uncertainties surrounding the present geopolitical situation. According to experts, the current high price of coal could be stable through the end of 2022, before declining moderately in 2023, but remain well above its five-year average. Therefore, investing in coal companies&rsquo; stock right now is a good idea. Theoretically, investing in the stocks of any firm whose primary business is in the coal industry will result in a profit. The issue is deciding which stock to purchase to increase the portfolio&rsquo;s return. Value investing, often known as finding an undervalued firm with a great potential for growth, is the main goal of the research. The first step of this study is to observe the coal mining sector, and analyze the problem that occurs. Then, a simple screening valuation method using PBV and PER is conducted to choose the appropriate company to evaluate. Next, external factor analysis using PESTEL analysis and Porter&rsquo;s Five Forces analysis is conducted. Afterward, internal factor analysis using Financial Ratios and F-Score is conducted to evaluate the problem that lies within the company. Finally, to summarize, SWOT analysis is conducted to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the company&rsquo;s business environment that provide a thorough knowledge of the company&rsquo;s competitive advantages. Furthermore, an absolute valuation method is carried out to produce the company&rsquo;s intrinsic value. The financial performance of ABMM when viewed from its financial statement from 2017 &ndash; 2021 is strongly increased in 2021, but stagnant in 2017 &ndash; 2020. After obtaining the valuations result through three absolute valuation method, the normalized earnings valuation shows an upside of IDR 2,317 or&nbsp; 77%, the DCF valuation shows an upside of IDR 2,193 or 73%, and lastly, the Monte Carlo Simulation shows an upside of IDR 2,233 or 74%. Therefore, from all three method, ABMM current stock price is considered as undervalued. According on the findings, this study advises purchasing ABMM shares. The present stock price was found to be undervalued using three absolute valuation methods, which means that anyone who purchases the stock at the current price of IDR 3,000 will see a capital gain on their investment.

This paper made valuation research on poly real estate by combining the actual situation of poly real estate and special factors affecting real estate industry assessment, using relative valuation method p/e ratio method and price-to-book ratio method, and discount cash flow method in absolute valuation method respectively. Three methods valuation results have little difference from the actual price, and are in line with the actual situation. By contrast, two methods valuation results are slightly lower than the actual price, which means that poly still has a certain rise space. From overall analysis, discount cash flow method is more rational comparing with valuation method.

Abstract The use of the geometric and arithmetic means for estimating tree crown diameter and crown cross-sectional area were examined for trees with crown width measurements taken at the widest point of the crown and perpendicular to the widest point of the crown. The average difference between the geometric and arithmetic mean crown diameters was less than 0.2 ft in absolute value. The mean difference between crown cross-sectional areas based on the geometric and arithmetic mean crown diameters was less than 6.0 ft2 in absolute value. At the plot level, the average difference between cumulative crown cross-sectional areas based on the geometric and arithmetic mean crown diameters amounted to less than 2.5% of the total plot area. The practical significance of these differences will depend on the final application in which the mean crown diameters are used.

Abstract:
As science and technology develop fast, people nowadays can have an easy approach to various advanced products. The use of Internet of Things has become a reality. To ensure its reliable implementation in daily life, stable and efficient hardware equipment like sensor is essential, where absolute value detector is widely used. A detector is created on the basis of this. The circuit can compare a signed 6-bit number with the threshold of a 5-bit number. This design uses MOS and pass-transistor logic (PLT) structure as the basic parts to form the transcoding logic and the subtraction logic. This paper also discusses the optimization of its minimum latency and energy usage based on logic effort parameters. In order to match a sequence of minimum delays, the article gives various power supply voltages and calculates each schemes lowest energy consumption for each voltage. The reduction of the energy cost is significant, which means the circuit has application value in reality. Besides, the different results are listed in a scatterplot to find out the trend of optimization, which may be helpful for selecting a proper scheme in the real program.

In learning in schools there are still many teachers using a teacher-centered learning model orTeacher Center. In teacher-centered learning, the teacher can control or organize the material andtime completely, but communication only occurs in one direction so that learning runs passively.Teacher-centered learning conditions are not as expected in the 2006 Ministry of Education Regulation, which is expected to learn mathematics in students having the ability to think logically, analytically, systematically, critically, and creatively, and have the ability to work together. One learning modelthat can help students develop critical and logical thinking skills is Problem Based Learning (PBL). InPBL, the teacher's function is as a facilitator which means preparing all the facilities needed in learningactivities. PBL becomes better if it is associated with the approach Higher Order Thinking(HOT)because the estuary of higher-order thinking patterns is able to solve problems From theobservations of student learning activities the HOT-PBL approach includes activities namely: motoractivity, mental activity, and emotional activity students during learning take place in the classroomwith the HOT-PBL approach get a good category, which means students are classified as activestudents. In recent years, the integrated circuit industry has developed rapidly. Since the advent of the first computer, the performance of chips has increased exponentially while the size and power consumption have also decreased. Today, a high-performance chip is much smaller than a card. The increase in computing power also means that there are more possibilities in the field of computing and simulation. Many disciplines have also made new breakthroughs due to the improvement of computing power. Brain-computer interfaces and technologies such as rehabilitation medicine and virtual reality based on it are very promising technologies that allow the brain to interact directly with external devices. However, the signals of the human brain are very complex, and the brain-computer interface, as a signal relay station between the human brain and external devices, requires very powerful data processing capabilities. This article will first introduce the brain-computer interface technology and the method of processing the signals in it, and then propose an efficient absolute-value detector circuit design to achieve a very important step in signal processing.

Abstract:
In today’s information era, collaborative filtering algorithms are widely used and their distinct knowledge discovery techniques can effectively address numerous issues. However, conventional collaborative filtering algorithms encounter cold-start and data sparsity issues, which restrict their performance and accuracy. The study selected the multi-feature method to improve the traditional collaborative filtering algorithm, and introduced gray correlation calculation and Bayesian probability for user preference analysis. A learning resource recommendation model based on collaborative filtering was developed by comparing the target user’s characteristics with those of other users, calculating their similarity, selecting users with high similarity to the target user and forming a neighbor set. Using Bayesian probability and grey correlation to analyze user preferences in library systems can be well applied in book classification and recommendation problems in university libraries. The computing layer, which includes the collaborative filtering calculation stage and the group recommendation calculation stage, is the model’s main functional component. The smaller the value of mean absolute error, the higher the prediction accuracy of the model. The mean absolute error value of the multi-feature collaborative filtering algorithm was inferior to the traditional collaborative filtering algorithm, indicating that the classification accuracy of the former is higher than that of the latter. When the training set to test set ratio steadily became bigger, the mean absolute error value reached the lowest and smoothest point at 80%. In dataset A, the minimum mean absolute error values of multi-feature collaborative filtering and collaborative filtering were 0.765 and 0.809. Compared with traditional filtering algorithms, the mean absolute error value has decreased by 0.044. In dataset B, the mean absolute error values of multi-feature collaborative filtering and collaborative filtering were 0.796 and 0.836. Compared with traditional filtering algorithms, the mean absolute error value has decreased by 0.040. In dataset C, the minimum mean absolute error values of multi-feature collaborative filtering and collaborative filtering were 0.815 and 0.848. Compared with traditional filtering algorithms, the mean absolute error value has decreased by 0.033. When the accuracy was the highest; the mean absolute error value was the smallest at the grey correlation, which means that the technique improves the reliability of the recommendations compared with other methods. This means that the method has a positive impact on the accuracy of the recommendations compared to other methods. Grey correlation degree can comprehensively consider the interrelationships between multiple factors, handle uncertain and incomplete information, and explore potential user needs and behavior patterns. The implementation of the grey correlation degree has transformed the collaborative filtering algorithm into a group filtering algorithm, thereby enhancing its precision. The research on book classification and recommendation in university libraries, which enhances the group filtering algorithm, can address a range of issues such as improving classification accuracy, augmenting recommendation diversity, enhancing library management efficiency among others. This, in turn, enables more precise book recommendations to users.

With the explosive growth of information resources in the age of big data, mankind has gradually fallen into a serious “information overload” situation. In the face of massive data, collaborative filtering algorithm plays an important role in information filtering and information refinement. However, the recommendation quality and efficiency of collaborative filtering recommendation algorithms are low. The research combines the improved artificial bee colony algorithm with K-means algorithm and applies them to the recommendation system to form a collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm. The experimental results show that the MAE value of the new fitness function is 0.767 on average, which has good separation and compactness in clustering effect. It shows high search accuracy and speed. Compared with the original collaborative filtering algorithm, the average absolute error value of this algorithm is low, and the running time is only 50 s. It improves the recommendation quality and ensures the recommendation efficiency, providing a new research path for the improvement of collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm.

Abstract:
Abstract. The theoretical framework of a novel approach for absolute radar calibration is presented and its potential analysed by means of synthetic data to lay out a solid basis for future practical application. The method presents the advantage of an absolute calibration with respect to the directly measured reflectivity, without needing a previously calibrated reference device. It requires a setup comprising three radars: two devices oriented towards each other, measuring reflectivity along the same horizontal beam and operating within a strongly attenuated frequency range (e.g. K or X band) and one vertical reflectivity and drop size distribution (DSD) profiler below this connecting line, which is to be calibrated. The absolute determination of the calibration factor is based on attenuation estimates. Using synthetic, smooth and geometrically idealised data calibration is found to perform best using homogeneous precipitation events with rain rates high enough to ensure a distinct attenuation signal (approx. 30 dBZ). Furthermore, the choice of the interval width (in measuring range gates) around the vertically pointing radar, needed for attenuation estimation, is found to have an impact on the calibration results. Further analysis is done by means of synthetic data with realistic, inhomogeneous precipitation fields taken from measurements. A calibration factor is calculated for each considered case using the presented method. Based on the distribution of the calculated calibration factors, the most probable value is determined by estimating the mode of a fitted shifted logarithmic normal distribution function. After filtering the data set with respect to rain rate and inhomogeneity and choosing an appropriate length of the considered attenuation path, the estimated uncertainty of the calibration factor is in the order of 1%. Considering stability and accuracy of the method, an interval of 8 range gates on both sides of the vertically pointing radar is most appropriate for calibration.

Abstract:
In recent years, a renewed interest in value creation for stakeholders has been witnessed in different contexts. Different tools have been proposed to try to grasp and measure such value(s) but, in many cases, the main perspective remains that of the shareholders. To contribute to the field of research that aims to discuss novel ways of thinking about value creation measurement, this paper addresses the relationship between ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings and Value Added, as proxies of value creation and distribution for stakeholders. In particular, we consider whether ESG ratings are able to capture companies that are characterized by their capacity for generating higher Value Added for stakeholders. Our analysis uses the frontier methodology combined with means comparison. Data from 2018 were downloaded from EIKON, for all companies within the Euro zone and for all sectors (1932 companies, of which 399 held an ESG rating, compared with 1533 without ESG analysis). Our analysis reveals that, although ESG is theoretically considered a good social responsibility proxy, ESG indices cannot be used as an indicator of value creation for stakeholders but, rather, must be considered as only one of the components. This implies a need to review the limitations of ESG ratings and establish that the relevant indices are not suitable for use in universal or absolute decision-making.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the value dimension problem when searching for the meaning of life in the past and present. Considering the pedagogical aspect of the problem, the authors have carried out an analysis of existing life-purpose convictions, as well as the possibility of solving existential problems and crisis developments of the Russian social medium. The authors suggest ways to improve the state of Russian society, taking into account the peculiarities of personal development and value formation. Throughout human history, life has served as the highest universal value. Human gives life its own specific meaning, whereas the general meaning of life is to gain experience through the natural laws of the very life, or from absolute values being beyond life. At first glance, this approach seems correct; however, a detailed study reveals several shortcomings in this approach. In the pursuit of pleasure and profit, a person is transformed from a free implementer of his desires into a slave of his desires. Focusing on pleasure often ends up destroying the psyche and the body. It is worth noting that the consideration of a human as a means to achieve higher goals devalues human life. For the sake of absolute ideas, which are usually illusions, a human becomes subjected to religious or political fanaticism.

Abstract:
Tamanu oil is one of the sources of vegetable oil needed on an industrial scale, so it is widely developed for its production. In designing essential oil processing on an in-dustrial scale requires mathematical calculations in measuring parameters in the re-actor, where this requires quite a long time in manual calculations. Utilization of ar-tificial intelligence technology, especially Machine Learning, That is very useful in the calculation process in the Tamanu oil extraction reactor. Machine Learning method used in this research is linear regression for data prediction and mean absolute error is used to measure absolute error. The model is used to predict the results of the outer diameter of the connecting pipe between tools with the parameters used, namely the target output in tons per year from cooking oil products made from tamanu seeds. R2 value of the graph of the CCIO Training Nominal Size data; Cooking oil; Methanol; Petroleum Ether is close to a value of 1, which means that the Input Feed value required to achieve the desired Output is close to 100% accuracy. Meanwhile, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) value is the result of determining the Nominal Size with the Output value = 5000; 55000; and 150000 kg/hour shows a small difference in error values so that the design is acceptable.

Abstract:
An investigation of the relation among individual power-function exponents for 51 adults with normal hearing was undertaken. Three different psychophysical procedures were employed: absolute magnitude estimation (AME), absolute magnitude production (AMP), and cross-modality matching (CMM) between loudness and perceived length. From these procedures, loudness exponents obtained directly from measurements of AME and AMP of loudness were compared to exponents predicted from CMM and AME of perceived length. The means of the distributions of measured and predicted exponents were found to have an identical value of 0.56. Moreover, more than half of the differences between the predicted and measured exponents ranged from -.07 to +.09, giving measured deviations that extend from - 12.5 to 16%. The close agreement between the measured and predicted means, ranges, and distributions of exponent values implies that CMM combined with line-length information can be used with success to determine an individual's rate of loudness growth.

Abstract:
Bioluminescence is light emission based on the luciferin–luciferase enzymatic reaction in living organisms. Optical signals from bioluminescence (BL) reactions are available for bioanalysis and bioreporters for gene expression, in vitro, in vivo, and ex vivo bioimaging, immunoassay, and other applications. Although there are numerous bioanalysis methods based on BL signal measurements, the BL signal is measured as a relative value, and not as an absolute value. Recently, some approaches have been established to completely quantify the BL signal, resulting in, for instance, the redetermination of the quantum yield of the BL reaction and counting the photon number of the BL signal at the single-cell level. Reliable and reproducible understanding of biological events in the bioanalysis and bioreporter fields can be achieved by means of standardized absolute optical signal measurements, which is described in an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) document.

Abstract:
Large book data stores were beneficial for our support systems but posed significant challenges for useful information retrieval. This issue was resolved by collaboratively filtering data depending on user needs. This study suggested a user-based methodology for recommending eBooks. The selected dataset was pre-processed, and Cross-validation was used to build a user-user similarity matrix. Three nearest neighbor algorithms (KNN Basic, KNN with Means and KNN with ZScore) were used, and weighted KNN was proposed for rating prediction. In this technique, the weight of each user was calculated based on its distance from the intended user. The evaluation process depends on the user-item matrix and user-user matrix for prediction. The proposed recommendation system was tested on the book-crossing dataset, and the results were evaluated using the root mean square error and the mean absolute value of error. The results show that the error rate of the proposed model is the lowest compared to the other methods used, specifically when using the Pearson-Baseline technique. Since the root mean square error is 1.647 and the mean absolute value of errors is 1.253. When using the cosine technique, the root mean square error is 1.742, and the mean absolute value of errors is 1.328.

Abstract:
The paper examines the issues regarding the values enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation from the standpoint of constitutional axiology. There is a variety of approaches to understanding constitutional values, their structure and legal characteristics. The author considers the phenomenon of trust as a social and constitutional value. The author draws a conclusion about her own understanding of the legal essence of constitutional values, which is not reduced to an idea, installation, principle or norm. They are an expression of self-identification of the multinational people of the Russian Federation, establishing the constitutional system. Therefore, they are constitutional values in the absolute meaning of this concept, and they have the property of integrativeness. The consolidation of the value of trust in the preamble of the Constitution of the Russian Federation is of paramount importance for the approval of the new constitutional order, the activities of public authorities, relations between the authorities and society, and the interaction of civil society institutions. In a formal legal context, this involves the creation, on the basis of the law, of institutions, procedures, means of protecting rights that should be based on trust and should be effective. Trust as a constitutional value is a criterion for assessing the institutions of public authority and civil society, the activities of subjects of constitutional legal relations, primarily public authorities.

Abstract:
Comparators are an important part of the calculator architecture, and rapid advances in semiconductor and electronics technology have placed higher demands on their performance. Optimization of digital systems involves several levels in order to make improvements in their power consumption, delay, and other parameters. This paper designs a low-power, high speed, and area efficient 4-bit absolute-value comparator, which utilizes a static Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) and Transmission Gate (TG) hybrid structure. The design optimizes the system at the level of separate circuit blocks, logic gates and transistors. The logic functions are realized by means of transcoding and magnitude Comparison, and the input signals are all driven by two-stage inverters. MUX and XOR with excellent performance of TG structure are implemented using simulation and analysis. In this paper, the transistor sizes and supply voltages of each logic gate are calculated and optimized using MATLAB by applying logic effort theory. The design uses a 65nm technology, and transient simulation of the overall system in Cadence successfully realizes its logic functions with 0.83ns delay and 49.6uw power consumption, proving the effectiveness of the design. This study based on theoretical calculations and simulations is a good reference for the design and theoretical study of very large-scale integrated circuits (VLSI).

Abstract:
This paper analyzes inflation forecast based on BP neural network model. Firstly, it reviews some references about BP neural network and finds that it is a nonlinear adaptive data-driven model with induction ability and a wide range of function approximation ability so that BP neural network could be applied into forecast research. Secondly, it builds up the BP neural network model to predict CPI, selecting the four indicators, which are excess liquidity, exchange rates, inflation expectation and macro-economic leading index. Then it carries out empirical experiment and takes advantage of the monthly data of the above four indicators from March 2005 to December 2012 to forecast CPI. The results show that when prediction period is 3 months, the maximum absolute error between forecast value and real value is 0.0139, and the minimum absolute error is 0.0005. When prediction period is 6 months, the maximum absolute error is not more than 0.02. It proves that BP neural network model can predict coming CPI trend at least 6 months according to the existing data and it means it is suitable for the study of inflation forecast.

Abstract:
Mathematical understanding ability is an ability that is considered important for students because it is the basis for other mathematical abilities. However, it turns out that students' mathematical comprehension ability is still low, especially in the part of linking between concepts. The problem must be solved so that the student does not have difficulties in receiving the material. To solve this problem, researchers choose teaching materials in the form of digital modules that are considered capable of improving mathematical understanding skills. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection is carried out by means of interviews, tests, and observations. Data processing is carried out by means of reduction, presentation and drawing conclusions. The data is presented in the form of a qualitative description. The results showed that digital modules are practical and usable. However, it is inversely proportional to the mathematical comprehension ability of students who are still in instrumental understanding, including: 1). Understanding the material, 2). Mentioning examples and not examples, 3). Explaining using its own language, 4). Draw conclusions for simple questions but have not been able to have a good impact on students in terms of linking between concepts. So that the existence of digital modules is still unable to solve the problem of low relational understanding ability.

Analysis by human perception could not be solved using traditional method since uncertainty within the data have to be dealt with first. Thus, fuzzy structure system is considered. The objectives of this study are to determine suitable cluster by using fuzzy c-means (FCM) method, to apply existing methods such as multiple linear regression (MLR) and fuzzy linear regression (FLR) as proposed by Tanaka and Ni and to improve the FCM method and FLR model proposed by Zolfaghari to predict manufacturing income. This study focused on FLR which is suitable for ambiguous data in modelling. Clustering is used to cluster or group the data according to its similarity where FCM is the best method. The performance of models will measure by using the mean square error (MSE), the mean absolute error (MAE) and the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). Results shows that the improvisation of FCM method and FLR model obtained the lowest value of error measurement with MSE=1.825 , MAE=115932.702 and MAPE=95.0366. Therefore, as the conclusion, a new hybrid of FCM method and FLR model are the best model for predicting manufacturing income compared to the other models.

One of moving object problems is the incomplete data that acquired by Geo-tracking technology. This phenomenon can be found in aircraft ground-based tracking with data loss come near to 5 minutes. It needs path smoothing process to complete the data. One solution of path smoothing is using physics of motion, while this research performs path smoothing process using machine learning algorithm that is Support Vector Regression (SVR). This study will optimize the SVR configuration parameters such as kernel, common, gamma, epsilon and degree. Support Vector Regression will predict value of the data lost from aircraft tracking data. We use combination of mean absolute error (MAE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) to get more accuracy. MAE will explain the average value of error that occurs, while MAPE will explain the error percentage to the data. In the experiment, the best error value MAE 0.52 and MAPE 2.07, which means error data ± 0.52, this is equal to 2.07% of the overall data value. Keywords: Moving Object, Path Smoothing, Support Vector Regression, MAE

The Water Quality Index (WQI) shows the condition of water quality in an area based on the status of water quality resulting from the measurement of physical, chemical and bacteriological parameters of a water body both rivers and lakes. Several machine learning techniques can be used to predict water quality in an area, one of which is through the prophet model approach which is able to provide fairly accurate predictions for the water quality index in Indonesia. The main objective of this research is to obtain a WQI prediction value as a baseline in the formulation of future environmental control activity policies using the prophet model. The result is that the predicted value of IKA for 2021-2023 generated through machine learning with the prophet model approach shows that the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) value: 7.01, Root Mean Square Error (RMSE): 8.61 and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE): 13.06%, which means that IKA prediction with the prophet model is effective in capturing annual patterns between historical data and future predictions.

Abstract:
Vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) and soft X-ray (SX) spectroscopic measurements are important means to diagnose radiation power loss, impurity ion densities and effective charge of confined plasma, Z eff , in magnetically confined plasmas such as fusion plasmas. We have constructed space- and time-resolving flat-field VUV (150–1050Å) and SX (20–350Å) spectrographs by using aberration-corrected concave gratings with varied line spacing. Absolute calibration experiments have been conducted at the Photon Factory in the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization. Absolute sensitivities of the VUV and SX spectrographs have been obtained for the two (S and P) polarization geometries. Thus, absolute intensities of emission spectra from impurity ions can be measured together with their radial distributions in plasmas. The total radiation power was determined to be less than 6 kW within ±20% of error in our normal plasma operation. Density profiles of impurity ions were reduced by using absolute emissivities of impurity lines and a collisional-radiative model. Moreover, the value of Z eff is estimated to be 1.00 in the tandem mirror GAMMA 10 plasma.

Abstract:
Blast furnace sludge, which comes from the iron making process, contains many valuable materials including iron, carbon, and zinc, etc. Because a cohesive agent is added during filtration, fine sludge particles are agglomerated together. Therefore, This makes it necessary to disperse the sludge in solution before separating or recovering valuable materials. In this study, the effects of solid/liquid (g/L) ratio, ultrasonic dispersion conditions, the pH of solvent, and the concentration of dispersant on the dispersion of sludge were investigated by measuring the interfacial properties (zeta potential and hydrodynamic size) of sludge particles. High absolute value of zeta potential and small hydrodynamic size suggests that the sludge particles in the solution presents good dispersion. The absolute value of zeta potential increased gradually at high solid/liquid ratio and ultrasonic dispersion intensity. But when the sludge in solution was dispersed for more than 30 minutes, the absolute value of the zeta potential decreased due to increasing contact and interaction between the particles. Optimal dispersion operations were conducted and when the pH of the solution was adjusted to 11, the zeta potential value was measured to be -44.8 mV. This means that the sludge formed the most stable dispersed phase. The lowest zeta potential was measured to be -46.4 mV with the addition of sodium hexametaphosphate (NaPO3)6 in the solution. It is thought that the sodium hexametaphosphate reduced ionic strength by removing alkali metal ions from the solution of sludge.
