Full textTranstibial stump volume can change dramatically postoperatively and jeopardise prosthetic fitting. Differences between individuals make it hard to give general recommendations of when to fit with a definitive prosthesis. Measuring the stump volume on every patient could solve this, but most methods for volume assessments are too complicated for clinical use.
The aim of this study was to evaluate accuracy and intra- and interrater precision of a method to estimate stump volume from circumferential measurements. The method approximates the stump as a number of cut cones and the tip as a sphere segment.
Accuracy was evaluated theoretically on six scanned stump models in CAPOD software and manually on six stump models. Precision was evaluated by comparing measurements made by four CPOs on eight stumps. Measuring devices were a wooden rule and a metal circumference rule. The errors were estimated with intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), where 0,85 was considered acceptable, and a clinical criterion that a volume error of ±5% was acceptable (5% corresponds to one stocking).
The method was accurate on all models in theory but accurate on only four models in reality. The ICC was 0,95-1,00 for intrarater precision but only 0,76 for interrater precision. Intra- and interrater precision was unsatisfying when using clinical criteria. Variations between estimated tip heights and circumferences were causing the errors.
The method needs to be developed and is not suitable for stumps with narrow ends. Using a longer rule (about 30 cm) with a set square end to assess tip heights is recommended to improve precision. Using a flexible measuring-tape (possible to disinfect) with a spring-loaded handle could improve precision of the circumferential measurements.

Full textThe purpose of this report is to highlight customers' problems in finding the right size when shopping for clothes in an online store. The focus area is to investigate whether it is possible for customers to take accurate body measurements or garment measurements with a measuring tape in order to select appropriate clothing size in e-commerce. A market investigation on the internet was conducted to find out how clothing companies design their size guides. Then a study took place with 20 participant soldiers. They were asked to follow the instructions for taking body measurements of themselves, to take measurements of each other and to measure two selected garments. Finally, they where measured by a garment technologist. The result showed a very large difference, and several of the measures had a span from -6 cm to +6 cm. One finding was that some measurement results were improved when someone else than themselves performed the body measuring. Afterwards the participants were asked to answer a few questions. Around 60 % of the them believed that a film instruction could facilitate the body measuring. The conclusion is that it is important to inform the customers in the size guide that it is important to get help to get as accurate measurements as possible and that an instructional film can facilitate the measuring. A complement to body measurements can be garments measurements in the size guide.

Under the rapid flow of information generations, the information asymmetry between manufacturers and consumers is descending. Brand becomes one of the most significant product purchasing factor in consumer decisions. Increasing brand equity becomes one of the important goals of business. Recently, the Taiwan government agencies actively help SMEs to promote branding. Broadly speaking, there are two ways to measure brand equity. Firstly, using the historical financial data to measure brand equity might be the most popular way and it is adopted by most government agencies and brand organizations all over the world. Another method is from the marketing point of view. For example, Aaker and Keller built brand equity model by using brand perception and brand knowledge. This study aims to help companies explore the degree of utility of different product attributes from dissimilar group of consumers. By applying Hierarchical Bayes Conjoint Analysis, we could measure the brand equity. Based on the random effects model, we could infer different personal preference structure from the customer mind sets. By converting the degree of effectiveness between different brands, we can establish the inter-brand price premium. In this research, we use the credit card as the main product to construct brand equity of the bank.

Man-power resources have been the very important possessions of a business or an organization. In the competitive world, many companies or organizations have focused on man-power management and development of the individual or the teamwork man-power which is viewed to be the key of the promising future development. Understanding personal traits is the basic factor of man-power management. Therefore, the main concern lies in systematic theories and data to analyze and predict personal traits for further management “Enneagram Instrument” is an important instrument for exploring the personal traits. It can be used to not only analyze the individual traits and attributes but also offer positive suggestions in interpersonal communication “Inneractive Instrument” is the latest instrument used to explore personal traits. The basis of this theory is the instinct of human beings which represents the unique field of each individual. This theory can spy the personal field by means of different colors, which also can explain the distinguishing characteristics through the combination of the colors “Astrology Instrument” is the common method used to analyze and predict the personal traits. Though it is meaningful in statistics, it lacks firm theory in science. Hollalnd’s “vocational interest instrument” is the qualified questionnaire by practical tests and permitted by related field experts. This research topic is on using about using “Enneagram Instrument”, ”Inneractive Instrument” and “Astrology Instrument” to measure personal trait and explore the relationship among them. The objects of the study are the students in Lo-Tung Commercial Vocational High School. I sincerely expect the result of the research can offer the students, parents and teachers some certain help. The students can refer it in taking courses that are good for them. The parents can refer it to assist their children in making decisions. The teachers can refer it to guide their students in career developing. The result are as following: 1. “Vocational interest instrument” and “Enneagram Instrument” are distinguishingly related 2. “Vocational interest instrument” and “Astrology Instrument” are not related 3. “Vocational interest instrument” and “Astrology Instrument” are not related 4. “Enneagram Instrument” 、“Astrology Instrument” 、 “Inneractive Instrument” are not related
