Full textPosture allowing an erect posture of the body relies on spiking activity of motoneurons innervating antigravitary muscle. Discharge could take the form of plateau potential on mature motoneurons of numerous vertebrates. To determine a possible concordance between the emergence of plateau potential and postural control development, we studied the maturation and ionic nature of plateau potential of motoneurons innervating triceps surae muscle of neonatal rat.The conclusion of our work allows us to propose a fundamental mechanism in the genesis of plateau potential on lumbar motoneurons. This mechanism based on a "ménage a trois" seems to play an important role in the neonatal motor development. This scientific advance could eventually lead to a better understanding of the origin of some sensori-motor impairments (spasticity, hyperalgesia...) and development of therapeutic strategies

Full textThis manuscript focuses on the operation of bistable mechanisms and especially the buckled beam subjected to a point force. The study is conducted by two distinct approaches: static and dynamic study of the beam, each of these parts is validated by an experimental study. To take into account the nonlinearities due to large displacements and large rotations of the beam, we use a model based on the Euler Elastica model. This model is enhanced by the inclusion of the extensible beam. First, the static approach of the buckled beam focuses on the differences between the models extensible and inextensible. We explain the differences between these two models based on energy method and comparing the bifurcation diagrams. In consideration of the tilting of the beam of a stable equilibrium position to another, the modeling allows shifting the actuating force along the beam bistable. Using an energetic approach coupled with a modal decomposition, a very detailed study of the influence of this shift is exposed. Experimental measurements on a macroscopic scale is designed to validate all of our static studies. The study of the dynamic behavior of the beam is divided into two parts. As a first step, a linear approach is carried out, it highlights the phenomenon of crossing the first two modes of vibration. All these results are then compared to a finite element modeling and experimental testing from prototype designed previously. This series of tests to validate the analytical model by comparing the modes and frequencies of the beam. The second part of the study concerning the dynamic non-linear response of the beam subjected to forced actuation. The model used is based on a modal decomposition according to the modes of bending and compression of the beam. We observe the contribution of each mode and we demonstrate the advantage of seeking the beam to its resonance frequency to obtain the snap through thereof with a minimum of effort. A final section discusses the design of a experimental prototype in the future measures that experimentally validate the results

Full textThe diagnosis and the treatment of gastro-intestinal pathologies have experienced significant development in recent years with the invention of endoscopic capsules which facilitate the access to different sections of the gastro-intestinal tract.Although these capsules can perform several functions such as gastrointestinal tract inspection and drug delivery, microbiota sampling still requires surgery in order to collect intestinal liquid samples. We propose through this work a microbiota sampling device that navigates through the gastro-intestinal tract, takes a sample of the intestinal fluid and protects it from any contamination as the device navigates in the human body. We use a bistable structure to close the capsule after sampling and a sponge for the triggering. The device is safe for the human body, as it does not contain electronic components, batteries and does not require any external intervention. To manufacture the microbiota sampling capsule, we use additive manufacturing. This technology offers the use of biocompatible material at a relatively low cost and allows fast prototyping cycle
