Pochodzenie życia i pochodzenie ewolucji to dwa odrębne problemy badawcze.

Ponadto udowodniono tezę, zgodnie z którą jednoczesne funkcjonowanie w Polsce obowiązkowego i fakultatywnego mechanizmu podzielonej płatności umożliwia w dalszym ciągu konstruowanie tzw. karuzel podatkowych z wykorzystaniem tzw. znikającego podatnika.

Abstract:
Odpowiednie zaprojektowanie urządzenia o wysokiej czułości i selektywności, a jednocześnie o niskich kosztach produkcji i eksploatacji, wymaga dogłębnej znajomości mechanizmów oddziaływania wykrywanego gazu z materiałem czułym chemicznie. Oddziaływanie to wywołuje znaczną zmianę momentu dipolowego układu adsorbent-adsorbat, z niewielkim przesunięciem ładunku elektrycznego. Wyniki teoretyczne zostały potwierdzone doświadczalnie w badaniu składu chemicznego powierzchni struktury H2Pc/Pd/PdO i pomiarach odpowiedzi sensorowej. Następnie, w celu optymalizacji struktury sensorowej, zanalizowano mechanizm oddziaływania DMMP z ftalocyjaninami metali, w których DMMP tworzy wiązanie poprzez tlen z centralnym atomem ftalocyjaniny. W wyniku wstępnych obliczeń teoretycznych wybrano ZnPc do szczegółowej analizy mechanizmu sensorowego. Wyniki teoretyczne zostały potwierdzone badaniami zmian elektronowych i chemicznych w cienkiej warstwie ZnPc. Dodatkowo, dla ftalocyjanin metali potwierdzono w modelowaniu teoretycznym analogię mechanizmu sensorowego dla sarinu i DMMP.

Abstract:
The main aim of this dissertation is to relate measurable and hopefully controllable features of a material's microstructure to its observed failure modes to provide a basis for designing better materials. The understanding of creep in materials used at high temperatures is of prime engineering importance. Single crystal Ni-based superalloys used in turbine aerofoils of jet engines are exposed to long dwell times at very high temperatures. In contrast to current theories, creep tests on Ni-based superalloy specimens have shown size dependent creep response termed as the thickness debit effect. To investigate the mechanism of the thickness debit effect, isothermal creep tests were performed on uncoated Ni-based single crystal superalloy sheet specimens with two thicknesses and under two test conditions: a low temperature high stress condition and a high temperature low stress condition. At the high temperature, surface oxidation induced microstructural changes near the free surface forming a layered microstructure. Finite element calculations showed that this layered microstructure gave rise to local changes in the stress state. The specimens also contained nonuniform distribution of initial voids formed during the solidification and homogenization processes. The experiments showed that porosity evolution could play a significant role in the thickness debit effect. This motivated a basic mechanics study of porosity evolution in single crystals subjected to creep for a range of stress states. The study was performed using three-dimensional finite deformation finite element analysis of unit cells containing a single initially spherical void in a single crystal matrix. The materials are characterized by a rate-dependent crystal plasticity constitutive relation accounting for both primary and secondary creep. The effect of initial void spacing and creep exponent was also explored. Based on the experimental observations and results of finite element calculations a quantitative mechanistic model is proposed that can account for both bulk and surface damage effects and assess their relative roles in the observed thickness debit effect. Another set of calculations aim at relating the crack growth resistance and fracture surface morphology to material microstructure for ductile structural metals. The process that governs the ductile fracture of structural materials at room temperature is one of nucleation, growth and coalescence of micron scale voids, and involves large plastic deformations. Experimental studies have shown that fracture surfaces in a wide variety of materials and under a wide variety of loading conditions have remarkable scaling properties. For thirty years, the hope to relate the statistical characterization of fracture surfaces to a measure of a material's crack growth resistance has remained unfulfilled. Only recently has the capability been developed to calculate sufficient amounts of three dimensional ductile crack growth in heterogeneous microstructures to obtain a statistical characterization of the predicted fracture surfaces. This development has enabled the exploration of the relation of both fracture toughness and fracture surface statistics to material properties and microstructure when the fracture mechanism is one of void nucleation, growth and coalescence. The relation of both toughness and the statistical properties of fracture surfaces in calculations of heterogeneous microstructures to various microstructural features is discussed and a remarkable correlation between fracture surface roughness and fracture toughness is shown for the first time.

Folding 2-dimensional sheets into static and dynamic 3-dimensional structures has the potential to improve rate, cost, and flexibility in manufacturing. In order to explore origami-inspired design, a better understanding of the mechanics of the fold is needed. This is to create better mathematical models and design for particular stiffness and fatigue specifications. The purpose of this study is to create a desktop machine that enables the measurement of the torsional stiffness of folded hinges over a wide angular range and a large number of cycles. This machine was then used to test 100 and 140 lb papers with 4 and 14 scores for the crease. Each paper was tested for 10 cycles and stiffness calculated. It was shown that 40 lb papers have higher reaction forces than the 100 lb papers. Stiffness measurements were inconclusive due to possible bending in addition to the hinging. For the 200 cycle around a 2 g decrease can be seen from I cycle to 200 cycles.

Abstract:
In the field of MEMS, optical instruments and communication, the manipulation tasks such as mechanics property test of micro-material, micro-components assembling, and fibers connecting, are challenging for their minuteness and accuracy. It is measured in the scale of micrometer or sub micrometer. The full-compliant mechanisms are the best alternative, which are characteristically of their compliant hinge, and monolithic chip forming, and can be used for transmit a certain high-accuracy motion. Nevertheless, the full-compliant mechanisms have some shortages, for instance, small working space, nonlinear in large range motion, complicated in kinematical and mechanics etc. inherited from the parallel mechanisms that instructs the design of full-compliant mechanism generally. In this article, the redundant actuated parallel robot with full compliant is introduced to overcome some shortcomings of the full-compliant mechanism. The redundant actuated mechanisms provide redundant inputs and can be used in some complicated force manipulations, for example, improving the stress distribution while implements the main task for enhancing the fatigue nature of the complaint mechanism itself. As an example, a 3-DOF planar redundant actuated full-complaint robot is studied both in the modeling and control system.

Abstract:
The mobility characteristics of compliant mechanisms are a function of the structural arrangement of the comprising segments and links, their types, as well as the load and/or displacement boundary conditions. It is hypothesized that an earlier defined concept of compliance number and stored strain energy in a compliant mechanism are strongly correlated. It therefore becomes necessary to define and better understand the characteristics of deformation mode shapes of compliant mechanisms. A compliant mechanism may exhibit a variety of mode shapes. In keeping with the classical mechanics notions, this paper systematically develops the mode shapes in compliant mechanisms, utilizing two distinct categories: i) segmental (elemental) mode shapes, and ii) mechanism (system) mode shapes. The possible mode shapes of the basic segment types are identified. Based on the energy storage capability of the segment types, segmental mode shapes are further classified into higher and lower order mode shapes. Similar identification is extended to compliant mechanisms as well, and the possible mechanism mode shapes are illustrated with the help of a few examples. Finally, the utility of this methodology in identifying an appropriate pseudo-rigid-body model (PRBM) corresponding to a given compliant mechanism is demonstrated. Abstract:
Abstract Eigentwists and eigenwrenches capture the stationary stiffness behavior of compliant mechanisms and can be related to a mechanism’s primary kinematic behavior. The nature of concatenation of multiple mechanism building blocks is not well-understood. In this paper, we consider the mechanics of concatenation and develop design rules that capture the geometric nature of concatenation in terms of eigenwrenches and eigentwists. The rules are illustrated through mechanisms from the literature. The design rules have potential to provide intelligent guidance for systematic building block synthesis of compliant mechanisms.

Abstract:
This paper introduces mechanism state matrices as a novel way to represent the topological characteristics of planar reconfigurable mechanisms. As part of this new concept, these matrices will be used as an analysis tool to automatically determine the degrees of freedom (DOF) of planar mechanisms that only contain one DOF joints. The DOF at each state can be combined with a mechanism state matrix to form an augmented mechanism state matrix. A series of examples will be used to illustrate the proposed concept.

Lever, James, Emily Asenath-Smith, Susan Taylor, and Austin Lines. Assessing the mechanisms thought to govern ice and snow friction and their interplay with substrate brittle behavior. Engineer Research and Development Center (U.S.), December 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.21079/1168142742.

Abstract:
Sliding friction on ice and snow is characteristically low at temperatures common on Earth’s surface. This slipperiness underlies efficient sleds, winter sports, and the need for specialized tires. Friction can also play micro-mechanical role affecting ice compressive and crushing strengths. Researchers have proposed several mechanisms thought to govern ice and snow friction, but directly validating the underlying mechanics has been difficult. This may be changing, as instruments capable of micro-scale measurements and imaging are now being brought to bear on friction studies. Nevertheless, given the broad regimes of practical interest (interaction length, temperature, speed, pressure, slider properties, etc.), it may be unrealistic to expect that a single mechanism accounts for why ice and snow are slippery. Because bulk ice, and the ice grains that constitute snow, are solids near their melting point at terrestrial temperatures, most research has focused on whether a lubricating water film forms at the interface with a slider. However, ice is extremely brittle, and dry-contact abrasion and wear at the front of sliders could prevent or delay a transition to lubricated contact. Also, water is a poor lubricant, and lubricating films thick enough to separate surface asperities may not form for many systems of interest. This article aims to assess our knowledge of the mechanics underlying ice and snow friction.
