Abstract:
Bu çalışma, eserdeki sünnetlerin ihyası-bid’atların ilgası kapsamındaki zengin içerikten hareketle müellifinin gözünden dönemin bid’at tartışmalarına ışık tutmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bizi bunu yapmaya sevk eden, yazarın hemen her başlık altında bid'atin gündelik hayattaki uygulamalarına dair ayrıntılı örnekler vermesidir. Bu doğrultuda seçilen başlıklara dair müellifin görüşlerinin ortaya konmasının yanı sıra İbnü’l-Hâc’ın detaylı anlatımlarındaki tarihî arka plandan hareketle Memlükler’in ilk asrında bunların hangi gerekçelerle bid’at tartışmalarına konu olduğu irdelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak yaşadığı dönemdeki siyasi, mezhebî, coğrafi vb. konjonktürün, İbnü’l-Hâc’ın bid’at anlayışını şekillendirmede kayda değer bir rolünün olduğu, Medhal’in sadece müellifinin görüşlerini yansıtmakla kalmayıp döneminin bid’at tartışmalarına ışık tutabilecek tarihî verileri içerdiği tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Autor opisuje 16 przykładów dzieł sztuki medalierskiej, malarskiej, graficznej i rzeźbiarskiej mających związek z tytułowymi medalami. Autor ponadto wyodrębnił i szczegółowo przeanalizował medale o charakterze: heraldycznym, mitologiczno-alegorycznym, emblematycznym i genealogicznym.

Abstract:
In 2018, the Indonesian Karate national team (Timnas) experienced a decline in achievement when competing in Yokohama Japan, where the Indonesian Karateka national team (Timnas) did not win a gold medal. In the following year, 2019 in Kinabalu, The Indonesian junior national team also did not win a gold medal at all but only took home three silver medals and nine bronze medals. The problem is that Karate athletes get nervous and become unfocused about the match. This has an impact on athletes who are easily affected by the screams of opposing supporters, are not calm, do not have the spirit of fighting until finally the opponent easily defeats Indonesian athletes. To be able to overcome these problems, the authors make a personal approach to each athlete in the national team in order to observe the athletes using quantitative methods. The approach of this study is counseling guidance used by the author is counseling guidance behavior (behavioral) and achievement motivation theory of McClelland and Herzberg as a complement to the athletes. The result is that the athlete's Feelings change, that is, he does not give up easily in all situations and conditions, always fights, dares to face challenges, is not afraid of losing, and has calmness when fighting with the enemy. The implementation of counseling guidance for these athletes was seen at the 2021 AKF Championship in Almaty, Kazhakstan, Indonesia to end the three-year Golden Fast. The national team included 18 karateka participants, of which two managed to get gold medals, five silver medals and four bronze medals.

Abstract:
The orders, decorations and medals of Indonesia are bit a mystery for scholars and even collectors. Indonesia proclaimed its Independence on August 17, 1945. Since that date, the Indonesian government has elaborated a full-fledged awards system. The last important amendments took place in 2009 when the Law No. 20 “About the titles, medals and decorations” was signed by the then President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (Undang-Undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 20 Tahun 2009 tentang Gelar, Tanda Jasa, dan Tanda Kehormatan). Currently there are fourteen orders (bintang) and over thirty medals (satyalancana) in the Indonesian awards system. Several orders and medals became obsolete. In total, there are about fifty governmental medals in the history of Indonesia since Independence. But if one adds classes of several service medals, the count ever increases. My paper examines the campaign medals of the Republic of Indonesia. Those are The Seven Paths or Faithful Warrior Medal (Satyalancana Saptamarga), The First and Second Independence Wars Medals (Satyalancana-Satyalancana Peristiwa/ Satyalancana Perang Kemerdekaan kesatu dan kedua), The Campaign Medals I—VII (Satyalancana-Satyalancana Gerakan Operasi MiliterI—VII), The Pioneer of the Independence Movement Medal (Satyalancana Perintis Pergerakan Kemerdekaan), The Faithful Service or Satya Dharma Medal (Satyalancana Satya Dharma), The Courage or Wira Dharma Medal (Satyalancana Wira Dharma), The Defender Medal or Medal for Combatting Communism (Satyalancana Penegak), The Eighth Campaign Medal “The Defender of the Law” (Satyalancana Gerakan Operasi MiliterVIII “ Dharma Phala”), The Ninth Campaign Medal “The Giant of Duties” (Satyalancana Gerakan Operasi MiliterIX “Raksaka Dharma”), and The Lotus or Timor Military Campaign Medal (Satyalancana Seroja). There are two basic types of Indonesian campaign medals. The first type has the round form with a wavy edge. The second type is the pentagonal star with concave sides and with balls on the vertexes of all the angles. The latter type reflects the State ideology of the Five Principles (Pancasila) proclaimed by Sukarno in 1945. The first type of campaign medals seemingly reflects the connections between fire, virility, masculinity and military actions in the traditional Javanese culture; at least, the traditional Javanese dagger Kris often has a wavy blade.

Abstract:
Summary:
At the dawn of the sixteenth century portrait medals counted among the most orginal forms of representation which providing plenty of information on represented individual and accumulating it in a small, durable, mobile and easily reproducible object, met the Renaissance demand of fame and immortality. Advantages of this medium have been noticed in the courtly circle of king of Poland Sigismund I the Old (r. 1507–1548) thus leading to creation of several series of medals cast and strack in various metals in the second and third decade of the sixteenth century. The paper discusses authorship of these medals, as well as circumstances of their production and the role they could have played in the propaganda of Sigismund I’s power.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The Sweden democrats has for a long time been labelled as a racist party in swedish media. Due to the problems related to the members of the party in the 90s, where members were subject to criminal actions and racist scandals, the media had focus on the racist actions and labelled the party as a racist party therefore. How does the discourse present itself today? The purpose is to make a comparative study between the year 2014 and 2018/2019 and to research if the discourse surrounding the sweden democrats has changed during this time. Relevance for the study is how we discover, categorize and give the discourses names that helps us and also the reader to understand the process about how the media picture Sweden democrats. Our method is a comparative critical discourse analysis that we are going to use on articles published in the two largest newspapers in sweden, Aftonbladet and Expressen. We will locate the surrounding discourses from 2014 at first and then locate what kind of discourses is surrounding the party in 2018/2019. The main discourse from 2014 is the racist discourse, it´s present in nearly every article we analyse. With the racist discourse, the big difference is that the discourse is changing. When we look upon 2018/2019, new discourses take place, the new discourses we locate it’s the right populism-, scandal- and normalization discourse, the rasism discourse is still present but not so extensive as during 2014. During 2014 the racism discourse depends on the scandal discourse, this changes significant, the scandal discourse is no longer in 2018/2019 dependent on the racism discourse, but it acutally transforms into its own discourse. The focus on racism is almost gone and new scandals take place instead. In combination with the normalization discourse we can se that there has been a change, actually a big change in the media discourse surrounding the Sweden democrats.

Abstract:
The medial surface of a 3D object is comprised of the locus of centers of its maximal inscribed spheres. Interest in this representation stems from a number of interesting properties: i) it is a thin set, i.e., it contains no interior points, ii) it is nomotopic to the original shape, iii) it is invariant under rigid transformations of the object and iv) given the radius of the maximal inscribed sphere associated which each skeletal point, the object can be reconstructed exactly. Hence, it provides a compact representation while preserving the object's genus and making certain useful properties explicit, such as its local width. These properties have led to its application in a variety of domains, including the analysis and quantification of the shape of volumetric structures in medical images. Despite its popularity, its numerical computation remains non-trivial. Most algorithms are not stable with respect to small perturbations of the boundary, and heuristic measures for simplification are often introduced. The study of the medial surface is the subject of this thesis.

Abstract:
The actualization of fake news in the media has led to a widespread debate concerning the trust and mistrust of different news medias and their content. What differences in individual trust can be traced when analyzing the Swedish people’s attitudes regarding media? Lots of researchers have presented different theories to explain why political trust differ. This study on the other hand has the ambition to analyze whether media trust has a significant effect on political trust. Regarding the upcoming general election in Sweden the autumn of 2018, the connection between media trust and political trust is a current and interesting subject. Especially concidering the knowledge that democracy and how it works is dependent on political trust. This study analyses the relationship between media trust and political trust and concludes that the phenomena has a strong positive correlation that is also growing stronger over time. Additionally, the study brings out media trust as a strong factor for political trust in comparison to other established theories about how political trust can be explained.

Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: The medial ligaments responsible for maintaining the stability of the patellofemoral (PF) joint are the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL), the medial patellotibial ligament (MPTL) and the medial patellomeniscal ligament (MPML). There are several studies on the anatomical, imaging, and biomechanical characteristics of the MPFL, and clinical outcome of its injury and reconstruction; however, little is known about the MPTL and MPML. METHODS: The MPFL, MPTL and MPML were dissected in 9 knees. All ligaments underwent histological evaluation by hematoxylin eosin stain after the biomechanical test. The length and width and the insertions relationship with anatomical references (medial epicondyle of the femur, adductor tubercle of the femur, joint line, patellar tendon and medial meniscus) were measured. Steel balls were introduced at the insertions and radiographs in anteroposterior (AP) and profile (P) views were performed. The distance between the insertions to baselines were measured (in the tibia, the plateau line, the medial plateau border and the medial border of the medial tibial spine; and in the patella the posterior cortical line and the proximal and distal patellar borders). The tensile tests of the ligaments were performed on a mechanical testing machine KRATOS. RESULTS: All materials showed dense connective tissue characteristic of ligaments. With the anatomical study we found that the MPFL was in layer 2, it has length of 60.6 mm and width of 15,3 mm in the femur and 20,7 mm in the patella. Inserting between the adductor tubercle and the medial epicondyle on the femur and in the inferior pole of the patella. The MPTL was found in layer 2, its length was 36.4 mm and width of 7.1 mm. Its tibial insertion was found 13.7 mm distal to the joint line and 11.6 mm medial to the patellar tendon at an angle of 18,5o with it. On the patella it was 3.6 mm proximal to its distal border. The MPML was in layer 3 and its length was 33.7 mm and width of 8.3 mm. The meniscal insertion was in the anterior horn, 26.6 mm medial to the patellar tendon and a 42,8o angle with it. In regards to the radiographic parameters the tibial insertion of LPTM was 9.4 mm, in the AP, and 13.5 mm, in the P, distal to the joint line. The medial lateral position was at 30% from medial to lateral on the tibial plateau and on the medial edge of the medial spine. The patellar insertion was 4.8 mm proximal to the distal border of the patella. In the biomechanical analysis we verified that the MPTL was more rigid then the MPFL (average of 17.0 N / mm versus 8.0 N / mm, respectively) and showed less deformation in the maximum tensile strength (8,6 mm versus 19,3 mm). CONCLUSION: The ligaments were identified in all knees. The anatomical and radiographic insertion parameters were well

Abstract:
This thesis explores the role of technology as a resource in the structure of medical domination of birth and death, stressing technology's pivotal position at the intersection of control and uncertainty. Based in Intensive Care and Obstetrics (between which the health status of patients diverges sharply), it notes the convergence of technology used and examines the contest for control within the labour process. This includes using technology to facilitate a 'standardized' birth or death; a more retrospectively defensible event. In general, the 'burden of proof' is concluded to lie with those wishing not to intervene rather than the reverse. Given the (cognitively male) biomedical model, mind-body dualism is an assumption embedded in medical technology: this is especially significant in childbirth, where it fractures the woman's ontological experience of giving birth. Its positivistic and pathological emphasis is associated with a reification of processes and a commodification of their 'solution': which becomes located in technology. It is argued that commodification in health provision will increase with the further application of market principles to the NHS. It is concluded that 'uncertainty', endemic to medicine and a possible challenge to control, is proactively manipulated and pressed into the service of medical domination. Technology is used to mask uncertainty and aid the medical profession's control of patients/relatives, and subordinate work groups. A technological fix may be viewed as the opposite to re-discovering societal dreams and myths, however, more paradoxically, it is concluded that dreams and myths have become attached to technology. Thus, the symbolic role of technology is: to provide hope of continued survival (or cure), the veiling of existential uncertainty and the offer of 'absolution' - should all efforts fail (a freedom from guilt in the assurance that "everything possible was tried"). Its 'heroic' project is viewed as an existentially 'masculine' health provision and 'feminized' health care is posited as an alternative.

Abstract:
We study the problem of computing the medial surface of a polyhedral solid. As this problem is difficult to solve exactly, we consider an approximate solution that locates regions of space through which the medial surface passes. The algorithm we design is based on the measure of the average outward flux of the gradient of the Euclidian distance transform of the polyhedron through the surface of a spherical region shrinking to a point. We extend previous methods by developing a completeness criterion that adopts this measure for spheres of non-zero size. As a result, we obtain a coarse-to-fine algorithm that reveals those voxels that contain sections of the medial surface. Such an implementation has the advantage that digital thinning with homotopy type preservation can be borrowed from past work. We argue that the error due to discrete flux computations is bounded.

Stolpner, Svetlana. "Medial spheres for shape representation." Thesis, McGill University, 2012. http://digitool.Library.McGill.CA:80/R/?func=dbin-jump-full&object_id=106357.

Abstract:
This thesis presents a particular set of spheres as new representation of the shape of a 3D solid. The spheres considered are maximal inscribed spheres in the solid and their centres are chosen in such a way that at most one sphere centre lies in a cubic region of space. The shape representation proposed is a discretization of the medial surface transform of a solid. Part I of this thesis presents algorithms for the computation of this representation given a boundary representation of a solid by approximating its medial surface transform. Properties of those medial spheres that are not detected by our algorithm in 3D are described and a complete characterization of those medial circles that are not detected by a 2D version of our algorithm is given. In Part II, recent results from differential geometry are used to compute principal curvatures and principal curvature directions on the boundary of the smooth solid represented using the union of medial spheres. This computation is performed using only the medial sphere centres and a pair of points on each medial sphere that lies on the surface of the solid being modeled. It is shown how the union of medial spheres allows a part-based description of the solid, with a significance measure associated with each part. In Part III, it is shown that our shape representation can offer a tight volumetric fit to a polyhedron, using a small number of spheres. The spheres used in our representation can be quickly updated as the solid undergoes a certain class of deformations. It is shown how our set of medial spheres allows efficient and accurate proximity queries between polyhedra.

Abstract:
Creating and consuming media products in a self-reflective mode is possible through and as a result of critical thinking. Meanwhile being part of media practices that reflect on their medial aspects develops the sense of critical thinking. Social technologies can be understood with help of different media practices. While mediatization refers to the increasing influence of media in various aspects of society, there are instances when media practices can work against this trend. Arguments and examples will be presented that as media literacy education improves, people learn to critically evaluate media content. Research data indicate that media literacy encourages questioning, which can work against powerless exposure to mediatization. Training individuals to be media literate allows them to critically perceive and evaluate information conveyed through media, reducing negative effects. Moreover, different media platforms cater to specific audiences with varying interests, and do that in qualitatively different ways. The fragmentation can limit the overall influence of media by preventing a cohesive narrative across all channels.

Abstract:
Medal is a miniature to be held. As an art form medal has evolved from being decorative to purely modernistic in a sense of creative expression. Many of Latvian medallists have a long experience in the field of medal art, working as sculptors and educators. Some artists have joined the Latvian Medal club recently. Latvian national section of medal art was represented in FIDEM (International Medal Art Federation) XXXVII Congress exhibition in Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence 2023 with 25 works by 15 artists of a living generation. Sculptural styles of the exhibited art medals of Latvian medallists varied individually. Many medals were realistic. They accurately showed pictorial likeness of cultural personalities or allegorically depicted philosophical ideas and existential issues. More than few artists responded via means of a tiny art medal to events near and far away, for instance to the war in Ukraine. Then some medals were quite abstract and nonrepresentational while still successfully revealing a purposeful association. Couple of medals were merely decorative, inducing joyful visual perception. Mostly being low relief medals, these small sculptural works also differed in form, size and material. Round and rectangular medals appeared classical by traditional convention. Free shape medals were not restricted by pure geometry, but rather accented characteristic silhouette of a particular image. Eventually the technique of sculpture proved to be an important factor. Half of the medallists made casts, produced in general out of bronze. The rest fabricated their work of composed substances, ceramic materials or created medals in mixed media, even experimented in intermediate art form. Works of Latvian medallists are being collected. Latvian museums have a great number of medals in their stocks. There is the museum of medallic art at Dundaga castle with permanent as well as changing collections.

Abstract:
The use of cutting-edge technologies such as the smartphones, smart bracelets, cloud computing, internet of things (IoT), e-Learning, and m-Health, as well as mobile applications has begun to increase in healthcare sectors, due to factors such as low cost, ease of use, mobility, multiple uses, and being reliable. This encouraged the international institutions, particularly health institutions, to increase their investment in healthcare technologies. We aim to develop a new specialized platform, an easy-to-use learning management system called Medical social media system, in order to improve the healthcare services in the Iraqi environment. It would be a social media system which can be used by users from their personal computer or Android devices in order to provide knowledge regarding users such as patients, medical students, new doctors and medical experts in the Iraqi health sector, where infrastructure needs to significantly develop, and medical information needs to be shared among medical workers as well as people in general. In this paper, we present a quantitative research by data collected from survey questionnaires, which are related to e-Learning and Medical social media system, in order to identify the main factors that influence the interest and the interaction of the medical specialists, new doctors, laboratory analysts, pharmacist, students of medical and biologic groups and patients interested in the health e-Learning and the cutting-edge health technologies through interactive Medical social media systems. Their interest and recommendations are taken into account while building an interactive specialized platform for medical social media system in the Iraqi environment.
