Abstract:
Indonesia is rich in culture, ethnicity which one example is the traditional houses that exist in each province. Introduce Indonesian traditional house to users by using information technology as a medium of information could be one way to preserve the nation's culture. Limitations of the media information about traditional houses that currently can only be enjoyed through pictures or visit the traditional houses directly make society can not know the traditional houses in Indonesia optimally. Therefore we need a media so that people can know more about traditional houses in Indonesia without the need to visit directly into sites or less information such as 2-dimensional images in the book. Application developed is combination between virtual reality and website. Application built using the waterfall method. The virtual technology is embedded in a website that allows users to access them anytime and anywhere. Aplication was developed using VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) and 3ds Max modeling software, and using the programming language PHP, HTML, CSS, and MySQL database. The browser needs Cortona3D Viewer plug-in for displaying three-dimensional file. The results of making this application is an application that utilizes the VRML technology to display traditional house on the island of Java in three dimensions. The results show that this application runs in accordance with the design functionality that has been made.

Abstract:
This paper is aimed at showing that subtitling can be used to foster bilingualism and patriotism in Cameroon. The objectives are to investigate how deeply rooted the practice of audiovisual translation is in local media outlets, focusing on how it can help in promoting bilingualism; promote the use of subtitling in the Cameroonian audiovisual media landscape; and assess the pivotal role of the audiovisual translator in this sector. A sample of 151 persons was used. Questionnaires were administered to respondents and stakeholders were interviewed in two media houses: Hi TV and CRTV. Hi TV is based in an English-speaking region, and CRTV is a State-owned media house and believed to have the widest audience in the country. Findings revealed that subtitling does not only provide TV viewers with information in their second official language, but also enables them to improve on their reading and writing skills, as well as their bilingualism, among others. Subtitling is not advanced in media houses in Cameroon. Recommendations were made to improve on the practice of subtitling in media houses in Cameroon. These include increasing the level of subtitled programmes broadcast on TV stations, raising awareness on the importance of media information access by the hearing impaired; creating an audiovisual translation unit in each TV broadcasting house and recruiting audiovisual translators; voting of laws to make the subtitling of some, if not, all TV programmes broadcast by Cameroonian TV channels mandatory; educating the public on the importance of subtitling by gradually introducing them to viewers through TV programmes, so that their eyes and mind could progressively get used to watching subtitled material and thus avoid total rejection of the subtitles; and training more audiovisual translators in Cameroon. Key words: Translation, Bilingualism, Patriotism, Vector, Subtitling

Abstract:
Abstract Over the past two decades, Chinese rural architecture has experienced dramatic changes through the Building the Chinese Socialist New Village movement. Thousands of new houses, particularly in the model of the New Village, have risen abruptly out of the ground. These Western-style new houses with a garden (huayuan yangfang), which often appear in the media as typical family houses in Western society, largely represent the image of the good life of the state and the peasant in contemporary China. In this article, I focus on how the family house is produced and consumed in Baikou New Village in south China. By presenting the materiality of the dwelling space, this paper probes the intertwined processes of the materialisation of the blueprint of the good life and how the new houses influence family life (especially intergenerational relationships) in post-socialist Baikou New Village.

Abstract:
Background and context: Traditional and new media are powerful platforms for shaping public agendas and promoting stakeholder action. The main stream media is a key mode of sharing information that directly reaches different stakeholders in the country. Media needs to be kept abreast of the developments especially in relation to the cancer world. Regular interface between media practitioners, cancer control advocates and champions facilitates building of synergies and momentum to push for the implementation. Additionally journalists need skills and information tools reinforcement particularly in the area of cancer control which is a relatively new subject in the development discourse. Aim: Equip journalists from the national as well as regional media houses with information on the provisions of cancer control and the rationale behind the provisions. Strategy/Tactics: Cancer control: building alliances and networks in the media for cancer support and control, through activities such as monthly media dialogues and engagement. Program/Policy process: There was a survey done at the start of the project. It enabled us understand the level of knowledge that the media had on the issue of cancer and cancer control. It also helped us know how far the media could reach in lines of cancer control. These enabled us know what is needed for us to fully use the media in this cancer fight. Outcomes: We reached more than 1000 journalists from over 100 media houses spread across the country. And through these media houses we have reached over 2,500,000 people who are part of the audience of the media houses. We have more than 30 in-depth stories in the broadcast and print media. We have offered fellowships to more than 15 journalists, held one-on-one meetings with more than 30 producers, editors and other managers. We have conducted more than 50 media dialogues and generated a database of over 1000 individuals in our tobacco control outreach efforts. What was learned: There is more need for media engagement and education. Media is one of the outlets where cancer information can be shared and you are sure that even the people at the grassroot are able to get the information.

Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of the study to examine the prominence of political corruption news by newspapers in South Sudan Method: The study used descriptive research design to address the research objectives. The target population in this study was Sudan Tribune, Juba Monitor, The Dawn, Peace Day, Sudanese Online newspapers, international and local NGOs, journalists who work for the media station and lecturers and students from Juba University. The researcher can identify every single element and the sampling frame was the five newspapers, also local and international NGOs, students and lecturers from Juba University Findings: The findings indicated that media houses shied away from giving priority to political corruption news for the fear of their lives, intimidation and torture. This further saw the coverage of political corruption news on a quarter of a page, hence confirming the fact that the public in South Sudan was denied the opportunity by the print media to question the government on corruption in the country Unique contribution to theory, policy and practice: The study had the following recommendations: The various media regulatory policies and the constitutional rights should be implemented by the instruments of power including the police, the government and the judiciary. This would assure journalists and media houses of their freedom to access information and freedom of expression, while shielding them from intimidation, torture and killing. The legislature, in collaboration with the media regulatory bodies in South Sudan should enact laws that protected media houses and journalists, especially in the cases where they covered sensitive but important information. Those who infringed on the rights of journalists and media houses should be pursued and arraigned in the court of law, where punitive action would be taken against them. This would further reaffirm journalists of their safety.

Abstract:
This study on layer and broiler houses is expected to give basic information on the nature of microbes, their occurrence, health hazard they could constitute and the possibilities for disease control measures. Modern husbandry practices, state or local concentration of the industry, high stocking densities, uniform age distribution of birds and continuous feeding may promote the spread of poultry diseases. Illness due to contaminated food, poultry wastes, poultry and poultry by products are one of the most widespread problems of the contemporary world. From the poultry houses investigated, bacteria and fungi were isolated from swabs of window nets dust, feed stock, roof dust, faeces, floors, feeders, drinkers, feathers, cages and egg trays using standard microbiological media and biochemicals procedures. The isolates encountered include: Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Streptococcus faecalis, Bacillus sp., Pasteurella gallinarum, Pasteurella multocida, Klebsiella sp., Eschericia coli, Salmonella sp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Yeast and Rhodotorula spp., which were nol typed. Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus terreus, Bacillus sp., Pasteurella gallinarum, Klebsiella sp., Eschericia coli, Yeast and Rhodotorula Sp., were present in both layers and broilers houses structures and materials in varying proportions. However, Pasteurella Multocida, Salmonella sp., and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from egg trays, feathers, faeces, and feeders respectively from poultry house materials only and none from the structures of layers and broilers houses. The layer house structures and materials tend to yield more microbes mir than broiler house structures and materials. There were no acid-fast organisms observed from the sediments of washed swabs materials for culture using Ziehl-Neelsen stain

Abstract:
In this paper, we argue that in order to create spaces and technologies that people will want to use you need to disarticulate the domestic from the digital. One way to do this involves complicating our understanding of the kitchen, moving beyond seeing it as a collection of wires, appliances and internet points to thinking about it as a space in which people really live. To accomplish this end, we unpack the imagining of the smart house, thereby creating a context and genealogy within which current and past research can be rendered intelligible. The trajectory from the display houses of tomorrow to the current narratives about smart houses is one that ultimately conflates the domestic with the industrial, and leaves little room to imagine real lives within those engineered confines. The "smart kitchen" is, in turn, embedded within the smart house and also presupposes a digital lifestyle. Throughout this paper, we draw on research conducted by researchers at MIT's Media Lab and Intel's Corporate Technology Group.

Abstract:
The role of information technology is the main thing that must be fulfilled to support activities in various fields of life, including the promotion of tourism. One of the developing information is Virtual Reality technology. iOMTARA (interior of Omah Nusantara) is a room tour application development that was created as a media for the introduction and promotion of tourism in the Nusantara. The 3D objects displayed in this application are Joglo Yogyakarta Indonesia's traditional house and Melaka Malaysia’s traditional house. Both of them were chosen because currently the traditional house no longer functions as a residence but also as a tourist attraction for both foreign and domestic tourists. This application was developed using interactive visual methods such as virtual worlds that make users feel like they are getting the same information as the experience of entering the space in the real houses. The application of building 3D objects from houses is followed by making video interactions using virtual reality. The final stage, this application will be incorporated into a mobile phone based on the Android operating system so that it can be used easily by the people. The application design method begins with a preliminary study of qualitative methods to obtain data directly in the field. Then the data is used to designing virtual reality in the IOMTARA Room Tour application. The result of making this application is the design of an iOMTARA application that uses Virtual Reality technology and can be used on mobile phone based on the Android system. It is expected that with this application, the people is more familiar with tourism objects in the Nusantara, especially the Joglo Yogyakarta Indonesia’s traditional house and the Melaka Malaysia’s traditional house.

Abstract:
In the United States, Home and Garden Television (HGTV) has become an authoritative design brand that defines popular tastes through near-total commercial dominance. Established in 1994 as a basic cable channel, HGTV currently reaches over 99 million American households with daily programming on interior design, real estate, and do-it-yourself decorating. Beyond television, the HGTV trademark spans magazines, building materials, model houses, and digital media. The stability of its “lifestyle brand” across media platforms makes HGTV appealing to advertisers and audiences alike. Yet, to the small degree that design scholars discuss HGTV, they usually criticize or mock its unrealistic and commercialized depictions of design practices. In contrast, I argue that the value of HGTV is found in its performance as a media convergent brand. Whereas old media, including magazines and model houses, bolster HGTV's identity as a trusted source for design products and ideas, new media platforms encourage audiences to act as stewards of their own taste cultures.

Abstract:
This paper is based on the 2012 Europa Lecture and discusses the relationship between the forms and structures of domestic buildings and those of public monuments. Its chronological scope extends between the Neolithic period and the Viking Age in western, northern and central Europe, with a special emphasis on the contrast between circular and rectilinear architecture. There were practical limits to the diameters of circular constructions, and beyond that point they might be organised in groups, or their characteristic outlines were reproduced in other media, such as earthwork building. By contrast, the main constraint on building rectangular houses was their width, but they could extend to almost any length. That may be one reason why they only occasionally provided the prototype for specialised forms of monument such as mounds or enclosures. Instead rectangular buildings played a wide variety of roles from domestic dwellings to ceremonial centres.

Abstract:
In a democratic society, mass media and political system have a strong bond with each other. Big media powerhouses attempt to develop linkages with political parties for economic benefits. These parties' linkages with media houses may have affected news items' representation of issues from both positive and negative reporting angles. An eminent scholar of agenda-setting through McCombs et al. (1997), pointed out that media has great power to set the agenda of public and political parties also actively engages the media houses to advance their elections. This study attempts to learn the news representation of issues during the General Elections (GE) of 2018 in Pakistan. This present study employed a content analysis method to investigate news issues coverage and representation in 10 mainstream newspapers based on readership size. The findings suggest that news items representation of issues among newspapers are highly polarized on the basis of sympathize towards their favourite political parties.

Abstract:
AbstractToday, opera houses are confronted by new (global) digital media offers that enable people to remain outside the opera house while attending a live-opera, e.g. via livestreamed opera performances in the cinema. This is a challenge for media managers in these fields because they need to find new ways to work with these new opportunities. Within a cultural marketing context, branding is highly relevant. Based on the brand image approach by Kevin Lane Keller (1993), we use a complex qualitative-quantitative study in order to investigate if, and how, the brand images of live-opera performances and live-streamed operas differ between countries and cultural contexts. By comparing Estonia and Germany, we found that the perception of live-opera is rather a global phenomenon with only slight differences. Furthermore, the ‘classical’ opera performance in an opera house is still preferred, with a corresponding willingness to pay, while the live-streamed opera offer may provide a modern touch. The study may help media managers in adapting their brand management to include new digital product offers and to find targeted differentiation strategies for increasingly competitive markets.

Abstract:
Abstract In the conventional equations used to describe gaseous transport of radon isotopes through fractured porous media the two processes responsible for radon movement are diffusion and pressure-driven flow (advection). Fractures in a porous medium can be especially effective for pressure-driven transport but lateral diffusion can be a strong mitigating influence. The interplay of diffusion and flow is examined for a fractured concrete slab and a fractured, high-diffusivity layer between a house and an underlying radium-rich medium. For underpressures common in houses, fractures only a fraction of a millimetre wide in concrete are important and often big enough to ensure flow transport of radon with small diffusive loss. In contrast, fractures several millimetres wide through high-diffusivity layers several metres thick such as sand may be unimportant for radon transport due to large lateral diffusive losses.

Abstract:
Democracy as a concept has become a common term among the generality of Nigerian citizens as a result of its frequent usage in the media. Although in the real sense of it, it has brought little dividends to Nigerians. In spite of its popular acceptance as the most favourable form of government in the world, the media in Nigeria has portrayed democracy in an uninspiring manner because of the greed, corruption and nepotism of Nigerian politicians thereby making the political communication of democracy as government of the people by the people and for the people unimpressive. Therefore, this paper examines the linkage between the media and democratic governance in Nigeria. It seeks to understand the ills that the media had caused to the democratic governance in Nigeria through sensational coverage of political events. The paper relied on secondary sources of data collection; and it is descriptive and explanatory in nature. The study anchored on Political Communication theory and Agenda-Setting theory to explain the influence of the media on democracy. The findings showed that Nigerian media is faced with myriads of challenges in fulfilling its duty as the watchdog of the society due to the issue of ownership, economic problem, and lack of adherence to professional ethics. It therefore recommended that adequate training that will reflect the ethics of the profession be given to media practitioners and other relevant stakeholders. Also, media practitioners including owners of medial houses should be exposed to an all-embracing political education that will enhance medial professionalism and appreciation of democratic values in Nigeria.

Abstract:
On 25 October 1993, British artist Rachel Whiteread revealed her most ambitious sculptural work to date ‐ House. The solidified space of this Victorian-era, terraced home physically existed for a mere 80 days; yet, during this time it became the subject of an intense media interest and heated public debate which reached the United Kingdom’s Houses of Parliament. While House has been discussed in depth within art historical scholarship for almost 30 years, trends in this academic body of work tend to focus on absence and memory in a highly contested public space, as well as thoughts on loss, death, architecture, the art market, politics and gentrification in London’s East End during the latter part of the twentieth century. What is lacking, however, is an examination of House within the larger context of visual culture and what it may, or may not, mean for contemporary viewers. Analysing the historical context of the work’s location through a Marxist lens, reveals the dehumanization which occurred within the East End’s class constructs throughout the nineteenth century, and its effect on housing policies well into the twentieth century. Reading the sculptural work itself, using the methodologies of semiotics, unveils mythologies regarding what is and is not expendable in our western spaces; particularly, the working class, houses and works of art in post-industrial capitalist societies. The ideologies embedded within these mythologies continue to appear in our mass media images to this day, leaving unanswered questions regarding what is truly valued in our societies. Thus, Whiteread’s unique work is an artistic intervention into an image-saturated environment, asking the viewers and readers of cultural texts to consider at what point in time we will seek to change how we treat that which has been arguably undervalued.

This paper aims to measure the level of employee engagement and to propose employee engagement framework. Following two-step sampling method, a questionnaire survey was conducted among the employees of fifteen media houses. The results of the survey are analyzed with the help of SPSS 18 version. Majority of the employees of Nepalese media houses have been found being engaged to their job. The findings confirm that five HR practices: performance appraisal and recognition; participatory culture; working facility; communication; and job and resources are the determinants of employee engagement. Among those, performance appraisal and recognition, and participatory culture, should be the major focus of human resource managers to make the employees engaged. Additionally, the paper can serve as a reference and an analytical tool to researchers for expanding knowledge on the topic.

Abstract:
PurposeThis study aims to explore the hospitality and religious experience of Israeli travelers visiting the globally prevalent Jewish Orthodox Chabad Houses that provide religious, spiritual, educational and hospitality havens in their locales, regardless of the degree of observance.Design/methodology/approachUsing Schmitt’s (1999b) experiential consumption dimensions of Sense, Feel, Think, Relate and Act, this study measured the various visitors’ experiences, satisfaction and loyalty using a sample of 488 Israeli travelers obtained from online social media sites, popular with Israeli travelers.FindingsThe findings reveal that Israeli visits to Chabad Houses were primarily characterized by Act, Feel and Relate experiences like meeting fellow Israeli travelers, a sense of togetherness and a feeling of belonging. In predicting satisfaction and loyalty, the visitors’ religious experience did not play a major role, but rather the actual hospitality extended by their religious hosts, like a home-like feeling, comfort, tasty food and a sense of togetherness did.Research limitations/implicationsCollecting data from an online sample might yield results that would not be applicable to the typical Chabad House visitor. Due to the Chabad Houses’ global presence, their visitors’ experiences may vary from one house to another and the findings may not represent an accurate picture of the typical Chabad House visit.Practical implicationsTo continue its hospitality brand, the Chabad movement’s decision-makers should continue focusing on innovative visitor experiences and balance the religious and secular components of their hospitality, as well as consider carefully how to direct their marketing and operational budgets.Originality/valueAdding to the body of literature on travelers’ experience at religious sites, this research is a pioneering attempt to study and explore visitors’ religious and hospitality experiences while visiting small non-conspicuous religious centers that extend their global hospitality brand to travelers.

Abstract:
This article, through conducting a study of the sexual harassment (SH) of media workers, investigates the extent and types of SH experienced by the editorial staff of Norwegian newsrooms at the time the #MeToo campaign arrived in Norway, and what effects such experiences have on journalists’ professional lives. We are also interested in what Norwegian media houses are doing to address these challenges. The leading research question consists of three interrelated parts: To what extent are journalists exposed to SH? What coping strategies do they use? How can newsrooms be better prepared to fight SH, from the perspective of the safety of journalists? A mixed methods approach, which combines findings from a quantitative questionnaire with qualitative in-depth interviews, was used to answer these questions. The findings show that female, young, and temporary media workers are significantly more frequently targeted than others and that those who had experienced SH handled the situation using avoiding strategies to a significantly greater extent than those who had only been exposed to unwanted attention experiences. The findings feed into a discussion of what strategies media houses can use to be better prepared in the fight against SH.

Abstract:
The article summarizes the practice of Russian publishers in the formation of the repertoire of graphic novels. In the modern world, visual perception of information is becoming an increasingly common way of obtaining and processing information. Graphic novels are forming an important part of contemporary culture in general and literature in particular, occupying a larger niche in the contemporary literary market. Publishers are trying to meet the needs of readers and include more and more series with graphic novels in their repertoire. The most successful projects in the publishing houses Bubble, Jellyfish Jam, Zodiac, 42!, Komil’fo, AST, specializing in graphic novels, are analyzed. The expansion of this book segment is continuous and quite fast. Summarizing the repertoire policy of Russian publishers, it can be asserted that graphic novels come to play an increasingly important role in modern society and in the modern book market, and they will be equal in importance to classical book editions in the future. Every year the number of graphic novels by Russian authors in the book market is growing. The repertoire of Russian publishers engaged in the production of graphic novels is quite diverse. Specialized publishers pay more attention to the projects produced, due to which there are fewer errors in the production of graphic novels in these publishers. The number of publications produced per year in specialized publishing houses is small, compared with large universal publishers. Projects of specialized publishers are more carefully selected, are often original or little-known in Russia. Each project of graphic novels by foreign authors is unique for a certain publishing house, and is not released in other publishing houses. The spread of circulations in specialized publishing houses is quite wide and often depends on the features of the project, the author’s fame, the features of the publication, as well as the niche of the publishing house. Large universal publishers mainly focus on graphic novels of widespread popularity, as a rule, within the Marvel, DC universes. All publishers considered in the study have a clear principle of development of their repertoire; in specialized publishers, the selection of projects is much more thoughtful, and each project is given more attention.

Advertising patterns are making significant shifts towards social media from their traditional format. Social media has become a norm for the majority of companies due to progressive change in the mindset of consumers. In the current scenario, working women play an important role in the purchase decision of the family. Moreover, some studies revealed that in some cases working women solely make product purchases. According to the Pew Research, women (73%) lead over men (65%) in the use of social media. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors that are influencing the working women purchase behaviour. The paper witnessed that demographic variables such as age and income of working women do play a significant role in online purchase. The key contribution of this paper is to provide the corporate houses an assessment of the extent to which the working women in India are influenced by social media in their online buying behaviour.

The influence of readers on the communication of the publishing organization in the modern media space was analysed in this study. The main objective was to find out the role of readers in the communication of book publishers in Ukraine. To achieve the objective of the study, the author used the method of analysis of scientific sources and the method of scientific generalization. The author also applied the method of observation through polling the visitors of the Book Arsenal in Kyiv and the Book Forum in Lviv during 2016-2018. It was explored that among the visitors of the largest Ukrainian book publishing forums, one-third of the active media consumers were interested in the events of the book publishing market, they created and distributed media content by themselves. It was proved that active consumers became prosumers and effectively influenced the communication policy of the publishing houses. It was recommended to the publishers’ PR-managers to properly consider modern changes in the media space which influence the readership activity, to adopt a culture of interaction with the readers, to use them as an effective source of dissemination of information about book novelties, and to try turn them into promoters of the publishing houses’ brands.

Many Russian, Soviet and foreign Russian-language publications since 1882 were called “Pravda”. Some of them (the newspaper, the printing house and the publishing house) had a similar name in Yiddish containing Hebraism – “Der Emes”. The main problem of the research is to identify interaction points of these organizations. The purpose of this study isto find out how these print media relate to each other. The author considers their history on the basis of archival documents and memoirs of employees of these institutions. The analysis of publishing production was carried out on materials of the bulletin of the Russian Book Chamber and collections of Jewish publications found in two main libraries of Russia. The author has identified several printing houses with the same name of different subordination, working with printed products in Yiddish and Russian. The author came to the conclusion that the newspaper editorial board, the Printing house and the Publishing house “Der Emes” were in close cooperation.

Abstract:
Palabras clave: coffee house, sociabilidad, espacio público, siglo xvii, Inglaterra Abstract During the second half of the 17th Century, coffee houses proliferated in England and, far from being an exceptional phenomenon, they were fully integrated into the daily life of the country. They were public establishments that could be accessed by any man, provided he had the money to afford a cup of coffee. They became places of social interaction far from the private sphere (the home) and the sphere of authority (the court), which achieved recognition thanks to their ideals of sociability, debate and egalitarianism. The coffee houses became the reflection of the daily life of a new emerging middle class, in which empiricism and refinement began to surface. They were linked to the incipient mercantilism of the time, but also had a special impact on English politics and culture. They also received criticism, especially from the female environment, although we must consider them as an opposition to the exclusion that women suffered in order to gain access to certain public spheres. In short, the emergence of coffee houses was the creation of a new space of sociability where it is not a question of excluding any social sector and where opinions began to become public opinion. Key words: coffee house, sociability, public space, 17th Century, England

Abstract:
When resources are scarce at crisis times and when competition is intense with other creative supplies, USA symphony orchestras and opera houses memorize and perform their repertoires (or repertories), so that seasons are crucially bundled between tradition and innovation. Since the beginning of the latest financial and real crisis (2007), USA classical music has seen different levels of funding from the federal government and businesses have encouraged more nonconventional programming (Pompe, Tamburri, 2016; Turbide, Laurin, 2009; Ravanas, 2008; Rushton, 2008; Turrini, 2006; Smith, 2007). On one side, fundraisers have stressed bundles (contemporary music with tradition) to sponsors; on the other side, marketing officers have emphasized the repertoire memory to audiences who constantly love Traviata, Boheme and Don Giovanni with echo of famous regisseurs, scenographers, etc. This is quite the same worldwide (Cancellieri, Turini, 2016). Fundraising and marketing affect economic performances of classical music, also thanks to social media and networks. Consumers have access to information about ticketing, rehearsals, present and past performances, etc. Art organizations strive to manage communication via social media to create brand values. Social media support both fundraising and marketing, as they mediate to sponsors and audiences: values, advocacy, videos and photos of the repertoire and nonconventional programming, which continually increase trustworthy relationships and nurture memories. This paper investigates 200 USA symphony orchestras and opera houses according to repertoires, revenues, expenses and gains in 2008 and 2015. With cluster analysis, three profiles emerge with different strategies, performances and emphasis on memory or innovation.

The ghosts in Rökkur are lurking online instead. By using the premises of the horror genre, Erlingur focuses specifically on the dangers that young homosexual men can be facing today. Chat rooms and social media are like hunting grounds for the monsters stalking the main characters. Abstract:
The aim of the first port of this study was to select the optimal technique for the enumeration and identification of viable mould propagules in the indoor air of houses. A comparison was made between the results obtained with six commercially available air sampling devices in combination with four culture media. The optimal technique was defined as the technique with the best precision and the highest yield. The coefficients of variation were high (generally > 20%) for all combinations. Statistical analysis showed that the Slit sampler and the N6-Andersen sampler in combination with DG18 and MEA gave the best precision and the highest yield in terms of CFU/m3 and number of species isolated. In the second part of this study the presence of viable mould propagules in the indoor air of 46 houses in relation to the dampness of these houses was investigated, using the N6-Andersen sampler in combination with DG18. To assess the variability in time, the measurements were repeated after five weeks. Overall, between the two periods no difference was found between the average number of CFU/m3 in the investigated homes. However, the variation between homes was much smaller than the variation within homes. The mean number of CFU/m3 was somewhat higher in “damp” houses than in “dry” houses. However, this difference was not significant. Furthermore, there were no demonstrable differences in the presence of specific mould species in “damp” and “dry” houses.

Abstract:
Audience perception of wildlife conservation discourse in Kenya has been negative as evidenced in the results of conservation efforts. The purpose of this study was to interrogate the moderating influence of media content framing in the relationship between media and audience perception. The study employed convergent parallel mixed methods design. The population in this study comprised of three groups namely; sampled media practitioners in three media houses in Kenya; residents living next to national parks in four out of the eight conservation areas in Kenya as delineated by Kenya Wildlife Service; and park managers in the four sampled national parks. A questionnaire was administered to 83 human-wildlife conflict resolution committee members. This generated quantitative data while qualitative data was generated from interviews with 6 media practitioner, 12 park managers, and Focus Group Discussions with 4 groups of human-wildlife conflict resolution committee officials each comprising of 8 participants The study applied both qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques. Results indicated that half (50%) of the total respondents from the three media houses focus on messages that can solve the conflicts that exist between wildlife and human beings as a factor when framing wildlife conservation messages touching on human-wildlife conflict. There was a general perception among participants that the media tend to emphasize the interests of state (KWS) more than those of the common man, thus the view that the media cannot fully be trusted to report matters from the perspective of the common man. This undermines the role of the media in educating the audience to appreciate wildlife and therefore conserve it. The study concludes that the target audiences are not satisfied with the manner in which these messages are communicated. As the media highlight the plight of the wildlife, it should equally communicate the plight of the communities. The study therefore reocommends more training of journalists and park managers to enhance sensitive flaming and reporting of wildlife conservation messages.

Abstract:
The ongoing history of setter colonialism is inextricable from the infrastructures of energy and extraction that provide its material foundation. Addressing this inextricable relationship, this article explores how Indigenous solarities in Canada resist extractivism and generate conditions for just energy futures beyond settler colonialism through emergent solar infrastructures. Developing a preliminary theory of Indigenous solarities, this article anchors the author’s observations to Lubicon Cree energy justice activist Melina Laboucan-Massimo’s Sacred Earth Solar initiative and its two completed projects: the Piitapan Solar Project in Laboucan-Massimo’s home community of Little Buffalo, Alberta, Canada, which powers a community health center, and a partnership with the Tiny House Warriors. The Tiny House Warriors is a Secwepemcled movement to construct mobile tiny houses along the path of the Trans Mountain Expansion Pipeline Project. This article’s approach is methodologically informed by recent infrastructural thinking from theorists such as Lauren Berlant and Deborah Cowen who offer an expansive, relational understanding of infrastructure. It is also informed by thinkers such as Myles Lennon and Dagmar Lorenz-Meyer, who respectively see in solar energy infrastructures the possibilities to decolonize energy and to generate a feminist techno-ecological ethos. This article offers a brief account of the historical and contemporary relationship between settler colonialism and infrastructural development in Canada, before providing an overview of three mutually informing frameworks for preliminarily thinking through the materialization of Indigenous solarities: as media of resistance; as expressions of Indigenous feminism; and as expressions of Indigenous futurisms. The article concludes by scaling out from the context of Sacred Earth Solar’s emergent infrastructures of Indigenous solarities, connecting these efforts with larger movements of Indigenous resistance and renewable energy infrastructure initiatives. Ultimately, this article argues that Indigenous solarities signify myriad potentialities for reorienting our collective energy imaginaries from scarcity to abundance in ways that foreground Indigenous self-determination against and beyond extractivism.

Abstract:
Background: One of the stages of development to the growth of the Aedes aegypti is larvae stage. The larvae need nutrients to grow. A one of medium for breeding larvae is water in the container. Some of the important nutrients for growth are nitrate, phosphate, ammonia. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nutrient levels in the water of the container density of Aedes aegypti larvae. Methods: Observational study with a cross-sectional with 119 houses as samples. Results:Test the relationship of nutritional factors with the density of Aedes aegypti larvae using the Pearson correlation test. The average distribution of nitrate was 0.787 mg / l, phosphate was 0.186 mg / l while ammonia was 0.603 mg / l and larval density was 66 tails. The study found that there was a correlation between the levels of nitrate, phosphate, ammonia and the density of Aedes aegypti larvae (p = 0.055 r = 0.022; p = 0.001, r = 0,929; p = 0.92, r = 0.975). Conclusion:The conclusions of this study were given the biggest contribution to the growth of Aedes aegypti larvae. A cooperative effort is needed to eliminate Aedes aegypti larvae.

Abstract:
This study focuses on media images of islamophobia as portrayed by Cable News Network (CNN) and its implications for international relations. The study employed qualitative methodology. Data was collected using key informant interviews, while documentary search was done using CNN current affairs videos. The study findings indicated that the media has the power to influence human perceptions towards stereotyping Islam as a terrorist organisation and conflating the Islamic religion and the Muslim culture with terrorism. The study also found out that islamophobia really has a relationship with how Muslims are represented in the media. The study recommends that media houses should have media ethics, laws and policies which force journalists to be more accountable and objective when reporting issues of religion, race and culture as a way of eliminating offensive communication and religious intolerance.

Abstract:
In the wake of the housing market crash in the United States in the late 2000s, images of abandoned homes on the periphery of American cities dominated international media. Mexico continues to face a housing crisis that began at the same time, and the media similarly focus on the high rate of housing vacancy in the urban periphery. The vacancy rate is extreme in many newly built subdivisions in Mexico, yet it is also high in most central cities. In this article, I describe the role of government mortgage lending in housing vacancy rates, across and within cities in Mexico. I do this using data from the 2010 Census of Population and Housing for the 100 largest cities in the country. Cities with more housing built under the federal housing finance system have higher vacancy rates overall, and the relationship is strong in central areas of cities as well as the urban periphery. These findings imply that policymakers should not only be concerned with vacancy in newly built suburban developments, but they should also consider how the expansion of credit for new suburban housing has played a role in the hollowing out of central cities. The article has direct implications for Mexico and raises questions about the frame for debate about housing policy internationally. The structure of housing finance systems is often under-scrutinised. Scholars working in emerging markets should work to identify incentives in finance systems and how they shape urbanisation.

Abstract:
On May 11, 2020, the Association of American Medical Colleges released recommendations discouraging in-person activities for away rotations and mandating virtual-only residency recruitment interviews. This paper focuses on how residency programs have attempted to adjust to this vastly different application cycle by using social media to reach their applicants. A total of 138 programs were identified through the Electronic Residency Application Services. The presence of Departmental/Residency program Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook as well as web pages offering virtual opportunities was recorded for each program on October 30, 2020. A total of 132 social media accounts were found; the majority of which were on Twitter, while fewer were on Instagram and Facebook. All 138 pathology residency programs had websites. Sixteen (11.5%) of those advertised virtual open houses and 2 (1.4%) advertised virtual subinternships; social media were more often used for advertisement of these virtual experiences. A total of 58 open house opportunities were advertised on Twitter, 21 on Instagram, and 20 on Facebook. Innovative virtual subinternships ranging from 2 to 4 weeks were developed, but only represented 6% of the usual 126 away rotations available. Pathology programs across the country utilized websites and social media as a method of communication to interact with applicants as part of the #Path2Path in 2020 and to provide virtual opportunities in preparation for a drastically different recruitment cycle.
