Abstract:
Connection between the ownership structure of media organization and partiality of newsDeimantas Jastramskis SummaryThe content of media news is created by media organizations. Their decisions depend on the structure of media organization and the distribution of power among sections of the organization. The aim of the article is to analyze the connection between the ownership structure of media organization and the partiality of news. The claim of the article is that the concentrated structure of the ownership and management of media organization results in the partiality of media news. The businesses of the main advertisers have a better coverage in the content of news compares with other advertisers in a concentrated structure of ownership and management of media organizations.

Abstract Given that property rights are politically sensitive, and that the right of ownership is the most extensive property right, this article undertakes a political analysis of the so-called abuse of ownership doctrine as a private law limitation to the right of ownership. The notion of the abuse of rights as is defined and described by the Serbian academic, Professor Vodinelić, is explained, and examined with respect to how it fits into four different social justice theories. This analysis shows that the doctrine of abuse of rights would change in structure, and in the way it is applied, depending on the underlying value system which is adopted in a society.

Abstract:
The restrictions on ownership in the Australian broadcasting legislation reflect the recognition that the media industries are more than mere producers of consumer goods and services; instead, the nature of their output gives them a more fundamental influence on society. It is claimed by some that the arrival of the new media technologies, especially digitalisation and the Internet, has undermined the rationale for the current restrictions on media ownership. This claim is based on the assumption that the new technologies will bring about a significant increase in the number of media outlets, and that the restrictions established for the ‘old’ media will become unnecessary, ineffective and/or irrelevant. This paper points out, however, that there are divergent views concerning the implications of the new technologies for the structure and ownership of the media, and that it would be premature to remove restrictions on media ownership. In the short term at least, any liberalisation of the concentration or cross-media restrictions is more likely to bring about greater ownership consolidation with adverse consequences for media diversity and the health of democracy in Australia.

Abstract:
The development of “new” media and the financial investment in football since the early 1990s have dramatically changed the football club–media relationship. A number of clubs changed ownership and organizational structure for financial gain or financial survival while the increasing demand for immediate information led to clubs’ recognizing the importance of external communication. Drawing on 47 semistructured interviews with media personnel and 827 questionnaires completed by supporters at 4 football clubs, this article assesses the organizational structure of clubs in dealing with the media and supporters and the level of dependence between clubs and the external media. The results highlight changes in the organizational structure of clubs and their strategies for external communication, as well as the contrasting relationships between football clubs and the external media. As ownership and personnel changes occur, clubs should remember the importance of the 2-way relationships they are in with supporters and the media.

Abstract:
Skirtingos žiniasklaidos organizacijos nuosavybės formos ir struktūros bei nuosavybės teisės valdytojų dalyvavimas arba nedalyvavimas organizacijos administravimo veikloje ir formuojant redakcijos politiką sudaro skirtingas sąlygas skleisti vienokį ar kitokį žiniasklaidos priemonės turinį. Šio straipsnio tikslas – aptarti skirtingų žiniasklaidos organizacijų nuosavybės struktūrų galimą įtaką žiniasklaidos priemonių turiniui, išanalizuoti Lietuvos nacionalinius dienraščius leidžiančių organizacijų nuosavybės struktūras bei jų įtaką redakcijos veiklai. Straipsnyje teigiama, kad tikimybė užtikrinti labiau nepriklausomą nuo žiniasklaidos organizacijos savininkų redakcijos politiką yra tuo didesnė, kuo yra sudėtingesnė ir įvairesnė pati nuosavybės struktūra, akcininkų interesų išskaidymas ir nepriklausoma, atsakinga visuomenei redakcijos politika sudaro sąlygas objektyviam žiniasklaidos turiniui, kuris yra visuomenės pasitikėjimo žiniasklaida didėjimo veiksnys, sukuriantis palankią situaciją žiniasklaidos organizacijai patenkinti turtinį nuosavybės valdytojų interesą.Pagrindiniai žodžiai: žiniasklaidos organizacija, nuosavybės struktūra, įtaka, turinys, nacionalinis dienraštis. The influence of ownership structure of media organization on content of mediaDeimantas Jastramskis SummaryDifferent ownership structures of media organizations and participation or not participation of shareholders in the making of editorial policy create different conditions for dissemination of media content. The aim of the article is to analyze ownership structures of organizations of Lithuanian national dailies and their influence on content of these dailies. There is a greater probability for editors of media organizations to ensure independent editorial policy when ownership structures are more complex and various. Both depersonalization of shareholders’ interests and independent, socially responsible editorial policy form conditions for objectivity of media content. Such situation is favorable for profitable operation and fulfillment of property interests of media organizations’ owners.

Abstract:
Material structure and function of plant tissue is one of the most difficult material for students to understand. This is because studying this material in detail requires aids (microscopes) whose observations are not necessarily easily understood by students. In addition, so far the learning media and methods used are less varied. Based on the above statement, we need a learning media that can increase student interest and student understanding in learning the structure and function of plant tissue. So this study aims to develop a monopolistic educational learning media on the structure and function of plant tissue in class VIII of SMPN. This development research refers to the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluation). The monopoly game structure and plant network developed consists of several game equipment including: a monopoly board, a set of ownership rights cards, a set of public and opportunity fund cards, a set of money - dice, and a game guide. As for the pawns in this game are the students themselves. Based on the material expert validation test, it was found that the percentage of material suitability in the monopoly of the structure and function of plant tissue was 70.83% or quite decent. Meanwhile, for the media expert validation test the percentage of eligibility was 63.33% or quite decent. Based on the validation test obtained an average of 67.08% or if interpreted then the monopoly of the plant's structure and tissue is quite feasible.

Abstract:
The objective of this research was to identify the different processes and key actors involved in defining executive's income but also the logic with which decisions are made. To address this issue, a three-step approach was used in which a research question was raised in each one. First of all, the link between performance and income in the French context will be assessed. Then, the role of governance mechanisms on executives ‘salary will be established. Finally, the different actors and mechanisms in determining salary’s policy will be analyzed. For each article, a conceptual framework was developed based on two complementary theoretical perspectives. The first two items are positioned in the disciplinary perspective shareholder, while the third item is placed in wider governance. Theoretical frameworks presented were faced with the test of reality. This Analysis was conducted through quantitative method for items 1 and 2 (linear regression) and qualitative method in the third article (Vinci case study). The first results show that CEO’s incomes from listed French companies are positively related to shareholder wealth. In addition, and contrary to Roe’s hypothesis (2001), the total compensation of French leaders have an incentive base greater than in U.S. companies. Secondly, none of the mechanisms studied (board of directors, compensation committee and ownership structure) has a significant impact on the sensitivity of Salary - performance. Finally, the decision-making process concerning executive’s compensation may be strongly influenced by the leader himself (due to relational networks or behavioral biases) and other stakeholder governance mechanisms (media and judicial remedy)

Abstract:
The family business is widely considered the dominant property structure around the world and the research on this field has increased rapidly in the last decades to understand whether and in which aspects family firms differ from other organizations. Despite this convergence, the actual body of research on family firms is populated by conflicting theories and findings, especially on the relationship with financial performance. On the other hand, few studies focus their attention on which strategic choices may explain the financial differences between family firms and non-family peers. Starting from this research gap, we think that both positive and negative aspects may coexist in family firms, and it would be difficult to identify which predominate without considering how family principals frame strategic decisions. In our thesis, we try to disentangle the effect of family ownership on firm performance focusing on three main aspects of firm strategy: the level of strategic conformity through the creation of a composite index (in which we incorporated six items that can be considered as key determinants of the business strategy), the departure of the internationalization process through foreign direct investments (FDI), and the implications of acquisition strategies.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to investigate whether community print media is fulfilling its developmental mandate in society using a comparative study of Alex News and Greater Alex Today community newspapers. This study is as the result of an outcry from various stakeholders claiming that community print media is no longer playing its developmental role in society due to the impact of structure and agency. They also claim that community media is no longer representing the interests and needs of the communities that it serves and lacks community participation. There are also concerns that community print media is no longer serving historically disadvantaged communities and is failing in its role to disseminate information in the community. They claimed that the control and ownership of community media is not in the hands of the community that it is supposed to serve, but in the hands of outsiders who are after business opportunities and profit-making. The qualitative research method was used for this study and the findings correlated with the literature reviewed. It concluded that the constraints of structure and agency is shaping the role of community media in society. Based on these findings the research recommends that government should assist the community newspapers by providing a subsidised printing machine that can be placed in a central place for easy access by the community newspapers. It also recommends that the community newspaper should transform from the traditional newspaper print to digital media to cut the printing costs and that the government should allocate more funds to MDDA.

Abstract:
This chapter focuses on the transformation of the Turkish media field as a result of the shifts in media ownership, the cultivation of AKP-friendly media conglomerates, the consequent upsurge in partisanship, and the decline in press freedoms. It traces the connections between these developments and the broader political economic forces, such as the economic crisis of 2001, the AKP's electoral hegemony, the decline of military tutelage, the entrenchment of Muslim bourgeoisie, and the new Islamist cadres in governmental and administrative structures. It argues that in Turkey's contemporary media landscape, commercial outlets have been simultaneously independent of the state and dependent on it. They are not formally owned, operated, or dominated by the state, yet their survival depends on their informal ties with the ruling elite, high bureaucracy, and judiciary. While this dependency on the state is not a new development, it has nonetheless revealed itself in astounding ways under the AKP's single-party rule.

Abstract:
The products produced by the media as professional work is news, information, and cultural content. These products are produced based on the historical organization of the media operating as a commercial company. With the 1980s, some structural changes in capitalism, such as globalization, flexible capital-labor relations, and the digital revolution, have greatly influenced the field of journalism. In parallel with the transformations in the media ownership structure, media organizations operate according to market conditions. As a result, the transfer of news and information of media is gradually decreasing. Today, the Propaganda Model, which reflects the merger of commercial media companies, levels of extreme inequality, class conflict and emerging new authoritarianism, remains valid. On the basis of a critical political economy approach, this chapter proposes to draw a road map of Herman and Chomsky's Propaganda Model and the current theoretical framework of journalism, including the effects of digital technology in journalism on news production.

Abstract:
Studies on women identity in the context of gender yields significant results, especially when considering the practice of cinema. Mainstream cinema is an essential area of indicators for handling women's identity. Susuz Yaz and Yılanların Öcü films are two important films in which Metin Erksan dealt with the concept of property within his filmography. These two films, which address the concept of property through the ownership of land and water, also represented the social existence of women's identity with the rural lifestyle in particular, making the social structure in which women are perceived as property visible. In this context, the study evaluates the image of the woman in cinema on the concepts of body, property and rights. The method approach shaped its roots from the foundations of sociology, communication and cultural theories. The subject was presented by analyzing it within the perspective of interpretive social science. It was concluded that the debate on whose property the land and water are also raised the discussion of the property of women's identity.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the impact of the dominance of the corporate-owned local newspaper in the United Kingdom during the ‘long’ twentieth century (around 1880 to 2008). It draws on newspaper business records relating to the Western Mail and Echo and the Norfolk News Company to demonstrate the process by which profitability displaced notions of public service in conglomerate newspaper enterprises and the consequences of this for editorial structures and output. In doing so, it argues that it is this structure which presaged the financial predicament experienced by the post-digital, post-banking crisis, and now post-Covid, local newspaper business, and suggests that hope for the future of this media form can be found outside of this dominant pattern of ownership

Chapter 4 brings into focus various structural threats to journalism, including monopoly control over media infrastructures, the loss of public interest protections, digital divides, and the “Facebook problem.” It examines how monopolies—from platforms to traditional conglomerates and broadband cartels—threaten the entire news media system. The chapter goes on to provide an overview of why media policy matters for journalism and how different ownership structures affect media content. It then concludes with an in-depth discussion of Facebook’s relationship to journalism and the different schools of thought on how we should rein in monopolies.

Abstract:
Chapter 2 engages with two major background themes: a review of inequality trends and how these are addressed by researchers in the economics field, and, secondly, the contours of change in the news media landscape. The first section reviews a key set of recent contributions in the field of economics on economic inequality. The next section turns to an overview of wealth and income inequality in the four countries that are at the centre of the empirical part of this volume (UK, Germany, Austria, and Ireland). The next two sections are concerned with academic responses to Piketty’s (2014) book and the subsequent academic debate on shifts in policies and institutional settings which can contribute to the reduction of inequality. The latter part of the chapter turn to the analysis of communicative resources, in particular changes in the news media sectors. It examines forms of inequality in ownership structures and concentration trends unfolding within the daily newspaper markets. Chapter 2 also wraps up with some concluding comments.

Abstract:
Economy politics that were formed with neoliberalism affected media industry like it affected all the other spheres of economy. The concentration of media structures in the world, the companies which work in the media industry being worked in the other spheres of economy, the struggle of these companies against the regulations about the media and their emphasis on the cancellation of these regulations; and the international activities of media companies attract the attention of the public for the last 50 years approximately. These developments in the media industry have been experienced in Turkey and these continued to be experienced. Neoliberal politics that were applied after 1980s caused important changes in the media industry. Another important point that attracts the attention is that even though the media actors have changed; the number of the structures that are active in media is limited and this number has not been changed for years. This paper aims to put forward the changes in the media industry in Turkey and the structures that have been shaped around these changes in the framework of neoliberal policies which were started in 1980s. In this paper a qualitative research design is used and ownership structures are analysed to investigate the changes in Turkey’s media industry since 1980s. Consequently it is seen that media actors have been changed but their numbers stayed the same. Furthermore the ownership structure of the media that is formed as a result of these developments and the organic bond between the Government is underlined.
