The chest roentgenograms of 65 patients treated for Hodgkin's disease with mediastinal adenopathy were analyzed retrospectively to determine the incidence and significance of residual mediastinal abnormality after treatment. All patients were treated with radiation therapy, and 36 patients received additional chemotherapy. On completion of treatment, 57 (88%) of the 65 patients had some residual mediastinal abnormality. These were either minimal changes in the mediastinal shadow in 30 patients or a widening greater than 6 cm in 27 patients. In the latter group, 11 (40%) of 27 patients continue

Thymoma is classified into different stages, which determine the prognosis and type of management, the standard primary treatment for these tumors is Thymectomy. Abstract:
Purpose: To describe a case of penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer of the aorta with a review of its natural history, diagnosis and management. Case Report: An elderly patient with a history of hypertension presented to the emergency room with the sudden onset of severe chest pain radiating to the back. The electrocardiogram showed left ventricular hypertrophy; the chest radiograph revealed mediastinal widening. Computed tomography was suspicious for a mediastinal hematoma without aortic dissection. Transesophageal echocardiography was also negative for dissection. An aortogram revealed a penetr

Thymic tumours are a heterogeneous group of malignancies with a range of clinical presentations. The most common types are thymoma and thymic carcinoma, but overall it remains a rare cancer, and one without a clear aetiology. About 50% are diagnosed incidentlly with chest radiography. Thymoma is classified into different stages, which determine the prognosis and type of management. Different types of treatments are available for patients with thymoma. Thymectomy to remove the tumor is the most common treatment of thymoma. We present a case of 20 yr old male presented with shortness of breath,

Abstract:
Platypnoea-orthodeoxia syndrome is characterised by dyspnoea and oxygen desaturation in the upright position usually caused by an extracardiac shunt and less often due to dynamic factors that accentuate an intracardiac right-to-left shunt. In our patient, the collapse of lower lobe of left lung secondary to bronchial stenosis due to endobronchial tuberculosis and resultant mediastinal shift was the factor that led to an otherwise unrecognised intracardiac right-to-left shunt leading to platypnoea-orthodeoxia. We postulate that there would have been an increased stretching and widening of a pat
