Abstract:
Many specialists have taken time to adjust to the development of acute medicine and Acute Medical Units (AMUs). As these concepts have evolved, so has the understanding of how specialists can better interact with their new acute medicine colleagues and how they help to ensure the smooth running of one of the most vital cogs of the hospital ‘machine’. For some specialties (Cardiology , Respiratory Medicine etc), it has been relatively straightforward to integrate into the new model – perhaps due to the sheer numbers of acute patients relevant to those specialties. However, for the chronic disease specialties such as diabetes, it has been less easy to understand how to optimize the interface with acute medicine.

Abstract:
During the 1980s and 1990s general medicine was progressively displaced by medical specialties as the major focus of a consultant physician’s career. Fewer and fewer people were appointed as ‘general physicians with a specialist interest’, which had been the norm prior to this. Specialists whose main focus was their ‘ology’ were continuing to be expected to take their share of acute medical “takes”. Training for most medical specialties still encompassed training in General Internal Medicine (GIM). However, this often was truncated in favour of the main specialty and was even resented, by some, as interfering with their “proper” training. None of this was surprising: medical specialties were becoming more complex & many more treatments, interventions and diagnostic tools were becoming available. Simultaneously, working hours were decreasing, and training was taking place within a much more formalised structure.

Abstract:
Background: To evaluate workload in emergency rooms (ERs) among clinical specialties including neurology and investigate characteristics of neurological consultations in ER.Methods: A nationwide survey was conducted to evaluate the number of specialists, resident physicians/surgeons, and emergency consultations of each clinical specialty in Korean tertiary referral hospitals from 2018 to 2019. Characteristics of neurological emergency consultations during the same period were investigated in one of the hospitals that participated. Results: A total of 23 hospitals were included. Four irrelevant clinical specialties were excluded. The number of neurology specialists and resident physicians were 12.5/hospital (4.1% of all specialists) and 6.4/hospital (3.4% of all resident physicians/surgeons), respectively, while the mean numbers of specialists and resident physicians or surgeons per clinical specialty were 13.7/hospital and 8.6/hospital, respectively. Neurological consultations accounted for 11.0% of all ER consultations for severe patients (Korean Triage and Acuity Scale level 1-3). Annual ER consultations for severe patients per neurology specialist was 274.1, which was only second to pediatrics (290.0). Annual ER consultations for severe patients per resident physician was 406.6 which was 1.6 times higher than the second highest (internal medicine, 247.0). Frequent conditions for neurological ER consultation were dizziness (24.8%), motor weakness (23.9%), headache (10.6%), dysarthria (9.9%), and seizures (7.7%). Frequent primary diagnoses were cerebrovascular diseases (29.0%) and episodic and paroxysmal disorders (24.9%).Conclusions: Workloads of neurology specialists for ER consultation were significantly heavy, and the workload of neurology resident physicians was the heaviest among all specialties. This should be considered in health care policies.

Abstract:
Introduction: Health workers, especially highly skilled and trained staff, with their knowledge, experience, and skills, should enable the implementation of health policy, with the aim of preserving and improving the health of the population. The aim of this study was to determine the availability of medical doctors and specialist medical doctors in Montenegro, by type of specialization, i.e., to determine their age and gender structure, as compared to other countries in the European Region (ER). Materials and methods: Medical doctors (specialists, residents, and medical doctors without specialist training) represented the unit of observation in this study. In addition to the application of descriptive methods (absolute and relative numbers), indices of change in the number of doctors for the period between 2009 and 2021, indices of change in the age structure of doctors for the period between 2008 and 2021, indices of change in the prevalence of specialist doctors aged above 55 years (55+), by specialty, were calculated, as well as the density of different specialists per 100,000 population. Data related to the public sector, collected and published by the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, were used. Results: The total number of doctors (specialists, residents, and medical doctors without specialist training) in Montenegro, in 2021, in the public sector, was by a third higher than in 2009, while the number of specialists increased by a quarter. The increase in the number of specialist medical personnel was significantly higher in hospitals, as compared to outpatient facilities (increase in the number of specialist doctors by 46% and residents by 41%, compared to 23% and 5% in outpatient facilities). In 2021, the highest percentage of specialist staff was in the age group of 55 years and above (about 34%). Conclusion: The aforementioned statistical series of data, related to specialist doctors, residents, and medical doctors without specialist training, in outpatient and inpatient health care, indicate a significant shortage of these doctors in Montenegro, as compared to most countries in the European Region, as well as an inadequate age structure, especially for certain specialties where careful human resources planning should be applied. Better and more efficient management of human resources should provide for young doctors to begin with specialist training sooner.

Abstract:
Pediatric sleep medicine is an area of intense research. The importance of screening for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) has been emphasized in the recently published international guidelines for the diagnosis and management of childhood OSA. In Romania, the first steps of diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in children have been recently made and we wanted to assess the current awareness and management option in a group of HCPs. A self-administered questionnaire was sent by email to pediatricians, family doctors, medical doctors of other specialties, including pneumologists, psychiatrists and ENT specialists. The results, important for the qualitative information, show that pediatric sleep disorders, mainly OSAS, are diagnosed rather by specialists than by family doctors, and that in most cases the management strategy was re-evaluation of the child and/or referral to another specialist. Half of the respondents completed the final open question showing the need for improvement, both theoretical and practical knowledge, for a better communication between specialists and improvement of access to diagnostic tools, as well as increase of education of parents and older children and adolescents. Further research is needed to confirm these qualitative data, however the questionnaire allowed the identification of poor areas for various working groups, finally elaborating recommendations for various interventions which might influence the development of this field in our country as well.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of a statistical analysis of trends in the change in the number of students studying in IT specialties in Russian higher educational institutions, and also, based on the econometric methods of data analysis, characterizes universities with a high number and a significant proportion of students studying in information technology programs. The novelty of this study, according to the author, lies in the fact that the calculations are made on the basis of a large sample taking into account changes in its dynamic characteristics (information on the activities of 611 universities and 467 university branches for 2015/2016, 2017/2018 and 2019/2020 academic years was studied).Statistical analysis showed that in Russia only a few universities specialize in training students for IT field. So, in the 2019/2020 academic year, more than 60% of students studied in IT specialties in nine higher educational institutions alone. At the same time, IT-specialists are trained in half of the universities and in a third of the country's university branches. Over the period from 2015/2016 to 2019/2020 academic year, the number of students enrolled in IT specialties has increased in Russia by 31%.The regression analysis of the data revealed a positive relationship between the indicators of the number of students in IT specialties in universities (total number, absolute increase in the number and their share in total student body) and the following indicators: share of young professionals in the total number of faculty members; number of partner enterprises; number of technology parks and small businesses in the university; income from research and development and number of publications in Scopus. A negative relationship is observed between the number of students in IT specialties and the share of persons with academic degrees in the total number of faculty members, as well as between the share of students in IT specialties in the total number of students and the indicators of internationalization of the composition of students and teaching staff. The proposed approach made it possible, on the basis of a representative sample of Russian higher education institutions, to assess the relationship between the indicators of the number of IT students at the university and the results of its activities in the areas considered, as well as to determine the characteristics of higher education institutions that made a significant contribution to the training of IT specialists. The results of the study presented in the article may be of interest to the universities that plan to significantly increase the number of students in the coming years and improve the quality of admission of applicants for training in IT specialties.

Abstract:
The current stage of development of Ukraine's international relations with other countries requires a revision of the foreign language teaching process in higher school. Special emphasis should be paid to the effectiveness of foreign language learning. The expansion of international contacts highlights the need for training a specialist who can communicate with representatives of other countries not only at the domestic level, but also in professional activities. First of all, this concerns specialists in those professions in which there is intercultural communication (international internships, participation in international conferences). The English learning process of many Ukrainian medical colleges and universities is mainly based on non-authentic materials. Few studies have been conducted to explore the implications of authentic and non-authentic materials in learning English for Specific Purposes (ESP), for medicine in particular. The current study explores students’ perception of these resources in learning medical English. In order to optimize the learning process, a comparative analysis of English language manuals for medical professionals was made. The data were obtained on the basis of a questionnaire filled out by medical students of two universities. The students were required to assess different aspects of both authentic and non-authentic materials. The ultimate goal of the analysis is to determine the educational efficiency of the afore-mentioned textbooks and the students’ motivation for English learning. Analyzing the effectiveness of training future medical specialists for professional communication, the following methods were used: descriptive, statistical and empirical methods: observation, testing, and questionnaires. The findings showed that the participants had positive attitudes toward using authentic resources and that they preferred them to non-authentic ones. Authentic resources provide a beneficial effect on the development of students’ language skills in their professional area. The prospects of further studying in the in-depth analysis of different ways of optimizing English language proficiency.

Abstract:
Following the establishment of the Academy of Medicine in 1957, the Chapter of Physicians was formed within the Academy in 1966 when there was a sufficient number of physicians to warrant its formation. Over the 40 years, the Chapter played a major role in providing, promoting and enhancing Continuing Medical Education (CME) for the physician specialists in Singapore. The Chapter gradually grew in size and scope. In early 2000s, it had more than 450 members specialising in 14 Internal Medicine-related specialties. Because of the critical mass, specialization and sub-specialization in Singapore, the Chapter was no longer able to represent the diverse interests of physician specialists, as well as to further develop all these specialties and subspecialties. In 2004, the Chapter of Physicians transformed into the current College of Physicians, with its own 14 internal medicine-related specialty Chapters. Though an independent legal entity, the College and its 14 specialty Chapters continue to be affiliated to the Academy of Medicine. They will now provide and strengthen Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for specialists as well as augment physicians' training and certification in Singapore. The initiatives and effort of the College and its Chapters will further enhance the roles and functions of the Academy, the main professional body for all specialists in Singapore. This paper highlights the important milestones of the Chapter over the past 4 decades, describes the rationale and process of College formation, and outlines its strategy for the next decade. Abstract: Traditionally, doctors in most specialties work in relative isolation, frequently caring for patients alone or with just a nurse. State-of-the-art care for voice disorders involves a multidisciplinary model that has evolved since the 1980s. Optimal care includes not only a laryngologist who specializes in voice, but also a skilled speech-language pathologist, singing voice specialist, nurse clinician and/or an extended care provider such as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant; and arts medicine specialists in numerous other disciplines including pulmonology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, psychology, psychiatry and many other fields. Voice problems in singers are diagnosed and resolved most efficiently in an integrated team setting.

Abstract:
This study, which focuses on 227 participants (196 females and 31 males) comprising 187 clinical specialists and 40 surgical physicians, examines the prevalence of burnout in medical specialists. We investigate the effects of the emotional exhaustion (EE), Depersonalization (D), and personal accomplishment (PA) dimensions on professional satisfaction and plans to change careers using the modified licensed Maslach Burnout Inventory—Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS (MP)). High emotional exhaustion is reported by 52.63% of men and 71.28% of women in the clinical medicine group (n = 188). In the surgical specialties (n = 39), scores are significantly higher, with 75% of men and 77.77% of women reporting EE. In our sample group, 71.36% express high levels of emotional exhaustion, with similar patterns across specialization and gender. Clinical medicine respondents report high degrees of depersonalization in 33.13% of females and 21.05% of males, while surgical specialty respondents report high levels in 33.33% of females and 50% of males. Across genders and specializations, 33.03% of all respondents show high levels of depersonalization. Clinical medicine participants report high levels of personal accomplishment (42.60% of females and 42.10% of males), whereas surgical specialties report 44.44% of females and 66.66% of male on the PA dimension. Of the total number of respondents, 44.05% report having a high level of personal accomplishment; differences exist depending on specialty and gender. In addition, questions regarding professional fulfilment and intention to change careers were presented to the participants. A total of 53.40% (16 male and 105 female) of the clinical medicine respondents said they intended to change careers, while 33 participants (9 male, 34 female) doubted if they would remain in the same specialization. Furthermore, 86 individuals (9 male and 77 female) in the surgical specialties said they would never choose to work in healthcare again. Regression analysis suggests that being male, higher in age, and working in surgical specialties with lower job satisfaction and a higher intention to change profession are associated with higher levels of EE. Age and work satisfaction are significant predictors of depersonalization, and higher career satisfaction is associated with increased levels of PA.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the topical issue of modern linguistic didactics – the formation of the Ukrainian-language professional and communicative competence of future specialists in technical specialties. The definition of this phenomenon is presented as a personal quality of future specialists, their ability to effectively use in educational and professional activity a set of acquired language knowledge and speaking skills in accordance with the norms of the modern Ukrainian literary language, which, with the acquisition of Ukrainian-language experience of communication in technical discourse, will ensure successful professional and technical activity. The components of the Ukrainian-language professional-communicative competence of a future specialist in a technical specialty (communicative, motivational, value-oriented, general cultural, intellectual-mental and professional-technical) and the methodological approach to its formation (competence-based approach) are determined. Emphasis is placed on the need to find modern and effective methods of forming students' speaking competence, which will stimulate their cognitive, emotional and practical activity as well as increase their motivation to study. The possibility and advantages of involving students in the creation of custom media content as a method of forming the Ukrainian-language professional and communicative competence of future specialists in technical specialties are considered, which stimulates the creative activity of students and makes it possible to increase interest in the discipline "Ukrainian (profession-oriented)". The essence of the concepts "media content" and "custom media content" is revealed. We present our own interpretation of the concept "custom media content" in the context of speech training aimed at future specialists in technical specialties which is defined as media content available on public digital platforms that is different in form and creation technology, has a creative nature and is oriented towards meeting the informational, educational, social and emotional needs of a person. The main recommendations for students on creating custom media content as an educational task and an example of systematization of similar works on Instagram are positioned. The motivational basis for creating media content by students was analysed and the stages of the process of creating and distributing media content were determined.

Abstract:
The study focused on the feminization of Sri Lankan generalist doctors in all major and selected minor specialties between 2000 and 2020. The study analyzed all relevant documents by exploring Sri Lanka's male-to-female doctor and specialist ratio over 20 years. This was determined by analyzing state medical faculty records from 1990 to 2020. For better clarity, the researchers analyzed the gender ratio changes in every five-year block from 1990 to 2020. Focus groups filled PGIM's gender data fields. Five-year medical students surged from 43% to 63% between 1990 and 2020. Linear trend analysis predicts 68% of female medical students by 2025 and 72% by 2030. This study simulated generalist doctors with medical students. Until recently, men dominated medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics. Female specialists have increased in all fields over the past 20 years. The feminization of medical doctors challenges national human resource policies and health sector reforms. They emphasize gender-sensitive health workforce planning that considers a country's economic development and healthcare system. Sri Lankan health policymakers should consider gender dynamics in national health HR planning for the next decade.

Abstract:
Objective: To assess prescribing and referral patterns and attitudes of primary care providers treating patients receiving long-term opioid therapy (LOT) according to recent guidelines.Design, setting, and participants: An anonymous 25-question survey was distributed to all primary care providers at Mayo Clinic in Arizona (from April 30 through May 22, 2020).Main outcome measures: Knowledge and comfort with LOT guidelines, prescribing patterns, referral patterns to behavioral and pain specialties, patients’ concomitant substance use, and response variability by provider sex and specialty. Results: Most of the 31 survey respondents were familiar with LOT guidelines and were comfortable in prescribing opioids; 36 percent reported no increase in prescribing safety. Patient education on naloxone was infrequent. Access affected referral to behavioral and addiction specialties; 87.1 percent referred patients to pain medicine specialists despite reporting little long-term improvement in symptoms. For a significantly larger proportion of internal medicine and women's health (IM/WH) providers, compared with family medicine (FM) providers, Patient Health Questionnaire 9 and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7-item scale scores were the reasons for behavioral health referral. Many providers prescribed additional substances. More female providers reported that patients used gabapentin concomitantly (p = .03). More FM providers than IM/WH providers typically referred patients receiving LOT to addiction specialists (p = .02). Most expressed a need for a multispecialty LOT clinic, and 83.9 percent supported buprenorphine prescribing. Conclusions: Despite familiarity with LOT guidelines, many providers felt that patient safety and prescribing diligence have not improved. Patient education on naloxone treatment is needed, and access to behavioral specialists is a barrier to referrals.

Abstract:
Background: The value of defining goals of care (GoC) for geriatric patients is well known to the palliative care community but is a newer concept for many trauma surgeons. Palliative care specialists and trauma surgeons were surveyed to elicit the specialties’ attitudes regarding (1) importance of GoC conversations for injured seniors; (2) confidence in their own specialty’s ability to conduct these conversations; and (3) confidence in the ability of the other specialty to do so. Methods: A 13-item survey was developed by the steering committee of a multicenter, palliative care-focused consortium and beta-tested by trauma surgeons and palliative care specialists unaffiliated with the consortium. The finalized instrument was electronically circulated to active physician members of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and American Academy for Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Results: Respondents included 118 trauma surgeons (8.8%) and 244 palliative care specialists (5.7%). Palliative physicians rated being more familiar with GoC, were more likely to report high-quality training in performing conversations, believed more palliative specialists were needed in intensive care units, and had more interest in conducting conversations relative to trauma surgeons. Both groups believed themselves to perform GoC discussions better than the other specialty perceived them to do so and favored their own specialty leading team discussions. Conclusions: Both groups believe themselves to conduct GoC discussions for injured seniors better than the other specialty perceived them to do so, which led to disparate views on the optimal leadership of these discussions.

Abstract:
Background: In healthcare settings, specialists from different fields may follow the most well-known, reliable, and easy-to-understand medical guidelines. This study aimed to determine Iraqi physicians' adherence to treatment guidelines, to specify which treatment guidelines are utilized for each disease and identify their barriers to follow the guidelines. Methods: This was qualitative study including face-to-face and virtual semi-structured interviews with specialist physicians from different disciplines. The interviews were conducted between December 2021 and May 2022 in Kirkuk province, Iraq. The qualitative data generated through interviews was analyzed using thematic analysis. Result: The study recruited 48 specialists (27 male and 21 female) from seven medical specialties at two large government hospitals. Most physicians (38 /44) revealed that healthcare settings implement treatment guidelines in more than half of cases. American guideline was the most used among the participating physicians. European and British guidelines and textbooks were also used by some specialties. Unfortunately, most (43 out of 47) physicians were unaware of Iraqi treatment guideline. Most seniors often followed the same guidelines for one branch, with little variation in approach based on their experience and flexibility. Almost all participating physicians believed that shortages in treatment (46/47) and investigation/lab materials (45/47) and low patient adherence (44/47) are major barriers to implement the guideline(s). Six out of seven specialties experienced shortage in the essential medications that recommended by the guidelines Conclusions: Most physicians followed well-known international guidelines. Each specialty follows different guidelines relying on the disease. Medication shortage in the public hospitals was the main barrier facing physicians to implement treatment guidelines. Enhancing physician awareness of the Iraqi guidelines should be encouraged. Finally, securing essential medicines in public hospitals is pivotal to adopt evidence-based guidelines effectively.

Abstract:
The training of Family Medicine specialists in Chile started in academic circles, with a strong focus on primary care shaping its core elements. This includes practical training to address common health issues, a holistic approach considering biological, psychological, and social aspects, and a push for health promotion. Currently, fourteen universities offer residency programs, mostly in Family Medicine, while three universities have differentiated programs targeting specific population groups. In the growth of training programs, key milestones include the 2005 health reform that introduced the Comprehensive Health Care Model (MAIS), the accreditation of training programs, the certification process for medical specialties, and a law enforcing payment for Family Medicine specialists in primary care. Despite reaching around 1,500 professionals, Family Medicine practitioners represent only 4% of specialists in the Chilean health system, mainly working in the public sector and particularly in primary care. The upcoming health system reform suggests Universal Primary Care as a central focus. To achieve this goal, it is crucial to encourage the training of Family Medicine specialists and ensure they stay within the system, recognizing the valuable contributions they make to the overall health network.

Abstract:
The paper deals with topical issues of developing additional professional advanced training programs for specialists in several specialties with a secondary pharmaceutical and medical education. For many years, postgraduate medical and pharmaceutical education provided for a one-time advanced training of specialists over a five-year period. At the same time, such a training format lasting, as a rule, 144 hours, hardly allowed the student to master a significant amount of relevant professional information accumulated by science and practice over the past five years. It is obvious that the current pace of development of domestic healthcare in general and pharmacy, in particular, the emergence and active use of innovative educational technologies, the existing need for pharmaceutical personnel to regularly receive updated and systematized professional knowledge could not but lead to the transformation of the previously existing model of postgraduate education. However, to date, two inextricably linked components of this process have been clearly defined: the introduction of continuing medical and pharmaceutical education and the accreditation of specialists. Moreover, in the current conditions, continuous education is becoming a necessary condition for the formation of a portfolio and admission to the accreditation procedure for a specialist, while accreditation serves as a fundamental licensing tool for professional activities. An active participant in the continuing medical and pharmaceutical education system are educational organizations that have been delegated the functions of developing and implementing additional professional advanced training programs. The purpose of this work was to popularize the experience of the Department of Pharmacy of the Kuban State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia in the development of additional educational programs for specialists with medical and pharmaceutical education. The methodological basis for the process of developing a development of additional educational programs for specialists with medical and pharmaceutical education was the professional competencies presented in the Federal State Educational Standards in the specialty "Pharmacy", Nursing, Federal State Educational Standards "General Medicine", Federal State Educational Standards "Obstetrics" and labor functions given in the relevant professional standards. On the example of additional professional advanced training programs developed at the Department of Pharmacy of the Kuban State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia, modern approaches are shown that allow harmonizing their content with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards for medical and pharmaceutical specialties with professional standards "Pharmacist", "Nursing Organization Specialist", "Nurse/Nurse Brother", "Midwife", "Nurse Anesthetist", "Paramedic".

Past studies have usually investigated the opinions of medical students and resident physicians regarding family medicine, whereas few have focused on practicing family physicians themselves, especially in terms of analyzing how they represent themselves. This study aimed to investigate the patterns of clinic names to better apprehend whether general practitioners see themselves as being on an equal footing with other medical specialists. The registered names, medical specialties, and levels of urbanization of all clinics of Western medicine in Taiwan were collected. For clinics of each specialty, we examined whether their names contained the corresponding specialty designation. For example, a family medicine clinic was checked to determine whether its name contained the term “family medicine” or its abbreviation. The naming of family medicine clinics was then compared with that of clinics with other specialties. Of the 9867 Western medicine clinics included in this study, two-thirds (n = 6592) were single-specialty clinics. In contrast to the high percentages of single-specialty clinics of other specialties with specialty-containing names (97.5% for ophthalmology, 94.8% for dermatology, and 94.7% for otolaryngology), only 13.3% (132/989) of the family medicine clinics had such names. In addition, the urban family medicine clinics had a higher proportion (15.2%, 74/487) of specialty-containing names than the suburban (12.6%, 44/349) and rural family medicine clinics (9.2%, 14/153). Overall, a low percentage of family medicine clinics in Taiwan included “family medicine” in their names. This issue of professional identity deserves further qualitative investigation.

Abstract The UEMS represents medical specialists in Europe since 1958. We gather specialist doctors who share values of unity, equality, and comradeship and who work together volunteering to promote the highest quality of specialist medical practice. Precisely, the UEMS has been supporting practitioners in occupational medicine for more than 25 years by developing and nurturing excellence in this specialty through a dedicated Specialist Section. The UEMS Section of Occupational Medicine participates in all UEMS flagship projects to foster the highest level of competence of practitioners in the field. Indeed, through the development of European Training Standards – standards in medical training that reflect modern medical practice and current scientific findings - we participate in the harmonisation of top-level postgraduate training of occupational physicians in Europe and beyond. With the same goal in mind, we organise every year a European examination which is recognised by professionals as a challenging opportunity to test and validate their expertise and experience. Last but not least, the UEMS-European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education contributes in proficiency of postgraduate education of occupational physicians through accreditation with upper level criteria of educational events in the specialty. Overall, improving healthcare for all also means people in their working environment and that's why, at the UEMS, we are, and we will continue, promoting the best possible practice of occupational medicine in Europe and beyond.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Occupational medicine (OM) is a source of essential transversal skills for the practice of general medicine and most medical specialties. Nevertheless, existing studies reveal that medical students in the EU may often receive limited training in OM. EASOM has prioritized this issue consistently. Recently, an alliance between EASOM and the Section of Occupational Medicine of the European Union of Medical Specialties (OM EUMS) to improve the training of OM specialists and foster an OM-EU examination, has been extended for upgrading OM teaching and training in EU medical schools, with the aim of reviewing and analyzing the existing recommendations for enhancing undergraduate OM education. Materials and Methods A literature review was conducted on the topic, including medical databases, grey literature and improvement recommendations from international scientific societies, agencies, etc., as well as examples of good practice. Results Improving OM education in European medical schools remains a real challenge that should be addressed urgently. There is an undeniable necessity for defining, harmonizing, and standardizing minimum basic skills that undergraduate students must acquire in all EU medical schools. OM training has been shown to generate positive attitudes towards the specialty among medical students, who rate the OM undergraduate teaching as fundamental and critical to the acquisition of essential medical skills. Timely translation of new research in this field into their curricula could also boost the OM specialty's recognition. Conclusions Undergraduate training in OM at European medical schools requires standardization, harmonization, and updating. A concerted effort by European societies, regulatory bodies, universities, and policy makers is urgently needed.

Abstract:
The field of information technologies is one of the most promising both in the world and in Ukraine. Currently, there are much more vacancies for IT specialists on the labor market than, in fact, for specialists. The issue of improving the quality of professional training of future information technology specialists, the level of their professional competence, which would meet the needs of the IT industry and the requirements of employers, is becoming urgent. The article is devoted to the correlation and comparison of the standards of higher education for the training of IT specialists with international requirements and classifications of professions. To achieve the goal of the research, the requirements of the standards of higher education in the field of knowledge 12 Information Technologies, the National Classifier of Professions and international documents: Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system, Computing Curricula 2020, European e-Competence Framework (e-CF) were analyzed and summarized. The distribution of higher education applicants in Ukraine by the number of educational institutions that train IT specialists was analyzed, it was found that the largest number of institutions focused on training future specialists in the specialty 122 Computer science. A comparison of professional types of work testified to the incompleteness of the National Classifier of Professions regarding the nomenclature of modern professions in the IT industry, in particular in the "Specialists" section. The interrelationship of IT specialties is analyzed through the analysis of the objects of activity and the theoretical content of the subject areas described in the standards of higher education, the importance of fundamental mathematical training in educational institutions is noted. The connection and differences between the basic profiles of Computing Curricula 2020 and specialties of the field of knowledge 12 Information technologies are determined.

Healthcare in the 21st century will be characterized by an aging population, increased costs, and scientific and technological advances. It will be characterized by a physician shortage, especially of specialists. Healthcare will be increasingly provided by caregivers with a spectrum of diverse educational backgrounds other than M.D. graduates of United States medical schools, such as international medical graduates, Doctors of Osteopathy, and Non-Physicians Clinicians. General surgery and other specialties are attempting to clarify the roles and services that their specialties will provide. Designing modern undergraduate and graduate educational programs is key to planning for healthcare in the 21st century.
