This doctoral dissertation addresses crisis management in project based organizations (PBOs) and mega projects. There has been much research on crisis in organizations but there has been little attention given to crisis management in temporary organization settings and when multiple stakeholders are involved. In other words, research on “how crisis management is adopted by project based organizations and mega projects” are scarce. This study addresses this gap. The urge to build something bigger and better than has ever been done before has always been a driving force behind the human race’s relentless pursuit of technological advancement. It is in this vein that mega projects have evolved over time, as methods of construction improved, so did the scale on which people could attempt new projects.
