This present paper deals with the development and validation of a stability indicating high performance liquid chromatographic method for the quantitative determination of Memantine hydrochloride. Memantine hydrochloride was derivatized with 0.015 M 9-fluorenylmethyl chloroformate (FMOC) and 0.5 M borate buffer solution by keeping it at room temperature for about 20 minutes and the chromatographic separation achieved by injecting 10 μL of the derivatized mixture into a Waters HPLC system with photodiode array detector using a kromasil C18 column (150 × 4.6 mm), 5 μ, The mobile phase consisting

A method for quantitative determination of memantine hydrochloride by HPLC with mass spectrometric detection (HPLC-MS), suitable for the study of dissolution profiles of tablets "Mematon IС" was developed. Chromatographic determination was performed using a mobile phase of methanol - 0.1% (v/v) aqueous solution of formic acid (55:45) on a column of Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18 size 10 cm Ч 4.6 mm (3.5 μm) at a flow rate of 1 ml/min. The linearity interval in the appropriate dissolution media is 35 - 150 % of the normalized content of memantine hydrochloride in the tablet. The method is validated on

Objectives: To optimize the synthesis process of memantine hydrochloride by direct aminoation of 1-bromo-3,5-dimethyladamantane with urea. Materials and methods: Using the basic chemical reactions to optimize the reaction conditions. Results: The optimal conditions of the memantine hydrochloride synthesis process include: The reaction solution was diphenyl ether; the reaction temperature was 170oC within 4 hours (in the first step) and 100oC within 2 hours (in the second step); the molar ration of 1-bromo-3,5-dimethyladmantane: urea: diphenyl ether was 1:3:2.5; the duration of the reaction was

Abstract:
Abstract A validated HPLC-UV method is presented for the quantification of urinary memantine hydrochloride, a novel medication approved to treat moderate and advanced cases of Alzheimer's disease. The drug and amantadine hydrochloride, the internal standard, were extracted from human urine using SPE. The extract was then buffered and derivatized at room temperature using o-phthalaldehyde in the presence of N-acetyl-L-cyteine. Chromatographic separation of the formed derivatives was achieved on a C18 column using methanol–water mobile phase adjusted to pH 7 and pumped isocratically at 1 mL/min.
