Treatment of pelvic bone sarcomas remains one of the most challenging areas of orthopedic oncology for all members of the disease management team. Although considerable advances have been made in all aspects of sarcoma treatment, the prognosis for patients with primary sarcomas of the pelvis continues to be guarded, and therefore, much controversy exists regarding optimal surgical management, radiation therapy, and systemic therapy. This article summarizes the current treatment paradigms for the 3 most common bone sarcomas (osteosarcoma, Ewing's sarcoma, and chondrosarcoma), highlighting the u

We report a case of a 43-year old woman with a 24-26 weeks size pelvic mass, inspite of CT contrast pelvis the exact location of mass remained unclear. At laparotomy, it was found to be a broad ligament multilobulated leiomyoma measuring 20-24cm and weighing, approximately 1400gms. We are reporting this to emphasize the importance of planning a case and involving different team members in case of large mass with an anticipation of complications and also a pathologist a day prior about the need for frozen section.

Anatomically the kidney consists of the cortex, medulla, and renal pelvis. The kidneys have approximately 2 million nephrons and receive 20% of the resting cardiac output making the kidneys the richest blood flow per gram of tissue in the body. A high blood and plasma flow to the kidneys is essential for the generation of a large amount of glomerular filtrate, up to 125 ml min−1, to regulate the fluid and electrolyte balance of the body. The kidneys also have many other important physiological functions, including excretion of metabolic wastes or toxins, regulation of blood volume and pressure
