Abstract:
Veidrodis mene neretai pasitelkiamas dėl simboliškai suvokiamo reflektavimo reiškinio. Šiuolaikiniame mene kombinuojant ne tik materialias medžiagas, bet ir mentalinio pobūdžio elementus, veidrodis tampa priemone įprasminti simbolinį atspindžio motyvą. Veidrodis svarbus ne tik kaip medžiaga, bet visų pirma kaip „atspindėjimo“ idėjos ir semantinių prasmių realizacija. Jis naudojamas dėl atspindžio motyvo, dėl galimybės transformuoti ar deformuoti erdvės įspūdį, keisti jos suvokimą, kurti originalų estetinį vaizdą. Tokio pobūdžio kūriniai nėra apibrėžti į vieną kryptį ar judėjimą, terminas veidrodžių menas egzistuoja dailės praktikoje kaip darbinis, nėra apibrėžiamas dailės terminų žodynuose ir nėra sunormintas. Šiame tyrime siekiama išanalizuoti, kaip veidrodžio pagalba meno kūrinyje konstruojamas savivokos ir savistabos elementas, kaip veidrodis dalyvauja autokoncepcijos kūrime, kaip menininkas „įtraukia“ žiūrovą į kūrinį arba, transformuodamas erdvę ir dezorientuodamas pasąmonę, žaidžia stebėtojo percepcija. Darbe akcentuojama semantinė veidrodinio atspindžio funkcija dailės kūriniuose. Tyrime pateikiamos teorinės idėjos – daugiausia iš Lietuvos autorių verstų, interpretuotų tekstų, kuriuose kalbama apie savęs suvokimą, antrininko vaizdinį, psichoanalizę. Šios teorijos atrinktos pagal darbo probleminius aspektus, apibendrintos ir pritaikytos veidrodžių meno teoriniam kontekstui. In this research is emphasized the semantic function of reflection in art. Analyzed which significances gain reflections, optically transforming the space and how they reveal the perception of human introspection and relation with surrounding. Mirror in art often is invoked exactly due to symbolically perceptible phenomenon of reflection. In contemporary art mirror becomes the medium to give a sense to symbolical motive of reflection. The aim is to analyze how is constructed the element of introspection and self-concept, how mirror participating in founding of self-perception, how artist involves the viewer into the artwork, and how manipulates the perception of spectator by optically transforming a space and disorientating the subconsciousness by using mirror in art. In this research are presented theoretical ideas mainly from Lithuanian authors translations. Theories are sorted out by problematical aspects of research, summarized and adapted to theoretical context of mirror art. There is mentioned the idea that physical qualities of mirror could be associated with semantic meanings, so often aspect of reflexion is compared with motif of reflection as a representation of different phenomenons. I mend it with sugar         Abstract   "Gluttony" and "sloth" is the sugar addictions best friend, or could it be that the addiction comes out of a disturbed hormone production caused by the environment that surrounds us? Trying to understand my own sugar addiction I weave in my personal story into my artistic research around this subject. The sugar might be the cause of the pandemic obesity and that's why it has to bee brought up into the light from its darkness down the basement of the food giants that roles over the world economy.   There might be no answer yet to the questions I ask myself but it is time that we all do what it takes to get closer to the answers, by questioning the nature of the food that we stuff our self full of, we all have a part of it, or do we? Have our brain already been kidnapped by the white gold that we're no longer capable to think clear?   This is a subject that suits very well to be highlighted through body related art, such as jewellery and corpus. We use our body when we eat, our feelings is coming from the inside of our body, by looking at our body and how it acts we can easily see the signs of how we really feel it's just that we forgot to look, we forgot to listen to our body, maybe it's the sugar that has numb our bodies…

Abstract:
As the title suggests, this dissertation text deals with repair, and while 'mending' also refers to sewing, here I use it in conjunction with healing and the transformation of an inner conflict. Coming from a family of embroiderers in Austria I use needle and thread as my tools and physical objects as triggers in search of what has been forgotten or repressed. The work centers largely around a shared history between my mother and myself, which though marked by many separations, the love for needlework connects us again and provides a meeting place that bridges the divide caused by absences in the past and in the present. Divided into two columns, 'academic' and 'personal', in subtitled paragraphs elaborate and reflect on 'memory', 'family narrative', 'trauma', 'needlework' and 'art-making as a way of personal transformation' in an attempt to understand the story of my life and how it fits into the larger family narrative. The catalog section of the text lists the art works that resulted from this engagement with my personal story, while the accompanying artists book offers an in-death view into the process.

Abstract:
Denne oppgaven vil først og fremst belyse hvordan dagens lærere i åpne skoler og i tradisjonelle klasseromsskoler er tilfredse med sin arbeidsplass, da med tanke på deres undervisningsareal. I oppgaven vil vi ut fra dette se nærmere på hvor tilfredse lærerne er når det gjelder å kunne anvende ulike undervisningsmetoder, å kunne bygge gode relasjoner til elevene, antall elever pr. areal, samt å kunne forhindre støy og uro. Ut fra dette er oppgaven forankret i ulik forskningslitteratur, samt at den vil gi et mediabilde og vise til ulike synspunkter omkring denne tematikken. For å få svar på lærernes grad av tilfredshet, er det blitt gjennomført en kvantitativ undersøkelse ved bruk av spørreskjema. Undersøkelsen er blitt besvart av 103 lærere fordelt på tre åpne skoler og fem tradisjonelle klasseromsskoler i Trondheim kommune. Populasjonen i kommunen var på 356 lærere fordelt på tolv skoler. Resultatene jeg har fått, er blitt drøftet og sammenliknet med annen liknende forskning innenfor dette temaet.

Este trabalho visa analisar a trajetória política e econômica argentina entre 1989 e 2007. Neste sentido, abordaremos os governos argentinos deste período, as principais perspectivas do Banco Mundial e do Fundo Monetário Internacional em relação às medidas econômicas dos governos e a reação da indústria nacional argentina frente às políticas neoliberais e neodesenvolvimentistas. Carlos Menem, do Partido Justicialista, assumiu a presidência argentina entre 1989 e 1999. Suas principais medidas para a economia possuíam orientação neoliberal. Desta forma, o mercado e as finanças foram abertos e diversas empresas estatais foram privatizadas. O Banco Mundial e o FMI apoiaram estas reformas econômicas, enquanto a economia passava por um longo processo de desestruturação e desindustrialização. As medidas de Menem deixaram a economia argentina suscetível às oscilações internacionais e desequilibraram a estrutura social e econômica do país, que entrou em recessão. Neste cenário, assumiu Fernando De la Rúa, da aliança entre a União Cívica Radical com a Frente País Solidário, em 1999. De la Rúa manteve as principais medidas liberalizantes de Menem e a crise foi se agravando. A crise econômica e social do país causou uma crise política sem precedentes na história recente da Argentina. Fernando De la Rúa renuncia, e, por fim, a assembléia escolhe Eduardo Duhalde, do Partido Justicialista, como presidente, até a realização de novas eleições. Durante este processo, é decretada a moratória da dívida argentina e o fim da paridade entre o dólar e o peso. Em 2003, Kirchner, também do PJ, venceu as eleições e se torna o novo presidente. Com o fim das medidas neoliberais na Argentina, FMI e Banco Mundial se tornam recessos quanto ao futuro econômico do país. Contudo, a indústria volta a crescer, fortalecida com as exportações e com o aumento do consumo interno, reativando a economia argentina.
This work aims to analyze the political and economic trajectory of Argentina between 1989 and 2007. In this sense, we cover the argentine governments of this period, the main perspectives of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund in relation to economic measures done by the governments and argentine industry reaction against the neoliberal and neodesenvolvimentistas policies. Carlos Menem, from the Justicialist Party, became president of Argentina between 1989 and 1999. Its main economic measures had neoliberal orientation. Thus, the market and finance were opened and several state enterprises were privatized. The World Bank and IMF supported these economic reforms while the economy went through a long process of disintegration and de-industrialization. Menem’s measures left the argentine economy susceptible to fluctuations in international markets and unbalanced the social structure and domestic economy, which went into recession. In this scenario, Fernando De la Rúa, from the alliance between the Unión Cívica Radical and Frente País Solidario, assumes the president of Argentina in 1999. De la Rúa kept the liberalizing measures from Menem’s government, although the crisis was worsening. The economic, social and political crises were unprecedented in recent Argentina’s history. Fernando De la Rúa resigns, and, finally, the assembly chooses Eduardo Duhalde, from Justicialist Party, as president until new elections. During this process, it is decreed Argentine debt default and the end of currency board. In 2003, Kirchner, also from Justicialist Party, won the elections and becomes the new president. With the end of neoliberal experience in Argentina, the IMF and World Bank become apprehensive about Argentina’s economic future. However, the industry returns to growth, strengthened with exports and increased domestic consumption, reactivating the Argentine economy.

Šiame darbe yra nagrinėjami socialiniai laisvalaikio kultūros raidos etapai bei su jais susiję ir jų įtakoti menininkų kūriniai, vaizduojantys laisvalaikio leidimo būdus. Darbą sudaro dvi dalys: pirmojoje dalyje aptariama socialinė laisvalaikio idėjos raida, įvairūs jos etapai skirtingais gyvenamaisiais laikotarpiais. Kalbama apie laisvalaikį, kaip socialinį ir kultūrinį visuomenės procesą ir jo santykį su darbo laiku. Antrojoje tyrimo dalyje laisvalaikio sąvoka skaidoma į penkis skyrius: malonumas laisvalaikio patyrime, kasdienis laisvalaikis, lyties įtaka laisvalaikio patyrime, etninė tapatybė laisvalaikio vaizdavime ir virtualus laisvalaikis. Šioje dalyje plačiau aptariami socialiniai ir kultūriniai laisvalaikio aspektai, būdingi kiekvienam skyriui bei pasitelkiama vaizdinė meno kūrinių medžiaga, vaizduojanti tam tikrus laisvalaikio leidimo momentus. Darbo tikslas buvo išsiaiškinti kiek įvairios kultūrinės, etninės ir politinės visuomenės tradicijos įtakoja laisvalaikio leidimo būdus ir atsispindi menininkų kūriniuose, vaizduojančiuose laisvalaikio leidimo būdus. Darbe analizuojami skirtingi laisvalaikio aspektai ir gretinami su meno kūriniais, bei menininko asmenine kultūrine patirimi. Taip pat dėmesys yra skiriamas ir virtualios kibernetinės erdvės įtakai laisvalaikio patyrime ir bei naujųjų technologijų įtakai meno kūriniuose. This theoretical work explores the meanings of leisure in the context of social and cultural formations of our time as well as works of art which portray leisure activities in their narrative. The work is divided into two parts: the first part discusses the idea of social leisure and its stages throughout the history. The second part analyses the concept of leisure in art and is represented in five chapters: pleasure meaning in leisure activity, casual leisure, gender and leisure experience, ethnicity and leisure experience and virtual leisure. This part concentrates more on leisure portrayal in art and discusses artist's relation to cultural leisure experience. The purpose of this work was to find out how different cultural, ethnical and political society tradicions influence leisure activity and how artists represent that heritage in their artwork. The work also addresses the virtual reality aspect and new technological side of contemporary art. The theoretical work comes to the conclusion that the socio-cultural aspects of living society have a main input in formatting leisure based activities and influence art, especially which portrays leisure experience. This observation also showed that artists either represent the individual metaphysical relation to ethnical society or criticize the global consumer culture in their leisure narrative based works. Šiandieninėje kultūroje, dar vadinamoje vaizdų kultūra, labai svarbią vietą užima technologijos, kurios sparčiai įsilieja ir į meno procesus. Meno ir technologijų sąveikos bei kūrybiškos naujų technologijų panaudojimo galimybės aktyviai atsispindi kūrybiniuose procesuose, tad darbe aptariami tarpdisciplininiai kontekstai, sietini su šiuolaikine Lietuvos tekstile ir jos sąsajomis su videomeno formomis. Meninės tekstilės santykio su video raiška tema Lietuvoje iki šiol plačiau netyrinėta, nors pastaraisiais metais vis daugiau kūrėjų ieškodami įdomesnių ir išskirtinesnių raiškos būdų pasitelkia video raišką praktiniam kūrinio įgyvendinimui. Tad šiame darbe tarpdiscipliniškumas šiuolaikinėje tekstilėje apmąstomas iš praktinės perspektyvos, pabrėžiant jos santykį su video. Surinkti pavyzdžiai iliustruoja šiandienines tendencijas ir menininkų poreikį judančio vaizdo buvimui. Nagrinėjamos aktualios temos – kodėl tekstilės meno atstovai renkasi video raišką greta tekstilės ir ką duoda šių dviejų raiškų jungtis, kaip viena kitą papildo. Į kylančius klausimus bandoma atsakyti apžvelgiant ir analizuojant šiuolaikinės Lietuvos tekstilės meninį lauką bei bendraujant su pačiais kūrėjais. Susisteminti išsamūs interviu pateikiami prieduose. Tyrimo metu nustatyta, kad video atsiradimas šiuolaikinės Lietuvos tekstilės lauke leidžia kvestionuoti tekstilės kaip dailės šakos daugialypiškumą, bei pačios materijos kaip jungties su šiuolaikinėmis medijomis svarumą vaizdų kultūros plotmėje... In contemporary culture, also called the culture of images, technology is playing a very important role as it is being rapidly involved in art processes. Interaction of arts with technology and the possibilities of involving new technologies in creating arts are actively reflected in creative processes, so in this work is discussed the interdisciplinary contexts, which are linked with contemporary Lithuanian textile and its relation with different form of video art. Even though during recent years many artists choose to use video resolution in order to present their work in a more interesting and unusual way, until now the relation between textile as a form of art and video usage was not thoroughly discussed in Lithuania. Therefore in this work the interdisciplinarity of contemporary textile is presented from the practical side while underlining its collaboration with video art. Gathered examples indicates modern trends and artists needs to have a moving images. Important topics are analyzed – why representatives of textile arts choose to use video usage next to textile and what is the purpose of this combination, how does it supplement each other. The raised question are being tried to answer while analyzing Lithuanian field of textile arts and while discussing with the artists themselves. Šiai temai atskleisti buvo išnagrinėtas medžio vaizdavimas lietuvių liaudies mene ir mitologijoje. Taip pat buvo išnagrinėta medžio samprata bei funkcijos šiuolaikinių medijų perspektyvoje. Išanalizuotas medžio vaizdavimas ir svarba šiuolaikinių menininkų darbuose. Sukurtas animacinis filmukas „Medis”.
This movie, presented as the final work for the Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, analyses the phenomenon of a tree. Visual art – is a contemporary message, embraced in the “woody” concept. Wood resides in various artistic means: photography, cinematography, videography as well as media. Therefore, ancient Lithuanian symbols, ornaments and scripts also are forms of visual art. This animation reveals “tree” representation in Lithuanian folk art and mythology. It depicts not only the meaning of a tree but also a function in the contemporary perspective of “woodyness”, analyzing it’s visualization and importance in the works of the modern artists. O objetivo desta dissertação consiste em explicar a política de privatização de empresas públicas argentinas em uma perspectiva de longo prazo, buscando encontrar seus antecedentes e as principais conseqüências desta política dentro de um contexto de reforma do Estado. Para tanto, retoma-se o modelo de desenvolvimento adotado entre 1930 e 1970, destacando-se a alta intervenção e o posterior declínio do Estado no campo econômico. Este trabalho se insere na área da história econômica e por tal motivo abrange diversos âmbitos, não se limitando à dimensão econômica. Assim, aspectos relacionados à questão da eficiência e da regulação são levados em consideração, mas também aspectos de caráter político e social – envolvendo a influência de fatores externos e a atuação de grupos privados no processo privatista – e a importância do instrumental técnico e do discurso através da consideração das leis, decretos, normas e depoimentos das autoridades governamentais. Nesse sentido, tem-se como hipótese que vários condicionantes contribuíram para a implementação de um conjunto de reformas estruturais no início do governo Menem, de forma que fatores de natureza econômica associaram-se a fatores políticos e ideológicos para explicar as opções e o desenrolar dos acontecimentos. Ademais, busca-se discutir o processo de privatizações argentinas a partir das características distintivas assumidas durante a primeira fase de implementação (1989-1994) comparando-se a seqüência de transferência das empresas públicas com a adotada por países que se tornaram paradigmas de privatização. Neste sentido, aprofundou-se o exame das privatizações avaliando um setor específico em termos de eficiência e regulação: o das telecomunicações. Tendo como referência o marco teóricoempírico, em suma, constatou-se que o fenômeno de privatização argentino guardou especificidades nacionais relacionadas principalmente aos condicionantes econômicos e à ideologia política que o sustentava. Demonstrou-se que, embora o governo Menem tenha decidido pela adoção de um programa privatizador com um processo de transferência diferente quando comparado com outras experiências internacionais, houve razões excepcionais que justificaram tal opção, não significando, por isso, o fracasso da política. Porfim, este trabalho busca contribuir ao debate sobre o papel do Estado na economia e sobre os limites das fronteiras entre o público e o privado.
The aim of this work is to explain the privatization policy for Argentinean public enterprises in a long term perspective. This perspective means that we were searching for the antecedents and the main consequences of this policy in a context of State reform. We analyzed the development model used between 1930 and 1970, focusing on the strong intervention by the State and the following decline of this intervention in the economic activities. This work can be categorized in the economic history field, embracing different aspects, that is, it is not limited to the economic range. For this reason, aspects such as those related to the issue of efficiency and regulation are considered here, but also those of a political and social character – as the influence of external factors and the action of private groups in the privatization process – and the importance of technical instruments and the discourse through laws, decrees, norms and testimonies of governmental authorities. As a hypothesis, we considered that various conditions contributed to the implementation of a group of structural reforms in the beginning of the Menem’s government, in a way that economic factors got associated with political and ideological factors to explain the option and the events that followed. We have also discussed the Argentinean privatization process according to the distinctive characteristics that it assumed during the first phase of implementation (1989-1994) by comparing the sequence used in Argentina to transfer public enterprises with those adopted in countries considered as paradigms of privatization. Thus, we have gone further on the analysis of privatization by evaluating a specific sector, that of telecommunications, in terms of efficiency and regulation. Using an empirical-theoretical approach, we have evidenced that the Argentinean privatization process kept national specificities related mainly to the economic conditions and the political ideology that gave support to the process. We have demonstrated as well that even though Menem decided to adopt a privatization program with a transference process different from those of other international experiences, there were exceptional reasons that justified this choice and that it did not mean a failure to the policy. Finally, this work sought to contribute with the debate on the role of the State in the economy and on the limits and frontiers between the public and the private sectors.

Disertacijoje analizuojama problematika, susijusi su šiuolaikinio meno praktikomis, kai menininkas ar kuratorius, siekdamas įgyvendinti savo kūrybinį sumanymą, meno projekte kaip medžiagą pasitelkia žmones. Tokie projektai paprastai išeina už estetinio lauko ribų: jie nebe reprezentuoja socialinę ar politinę tikrovę, bet ją atlieka. Todėl disertacijoje siekiama suformuoti koncepcinį modelį, kuris leistų kelti ir analizuoti dalyvaujamojo meno, kaip lygiagrečiai estetinėje ir socialinėje sferoje egzistuojančios praktikos, problemas. Modelis pagrindžiamas ir išplėtojamas remiantis pirmiausia klasikinės gamybos ir veiksmo (poiēsis ir praxis) skirties permąstymu ir pamatine prielaida, kad šiuolaikinė gamyba vis labiau panėšėja į veiksmą (Paolo Virno, Giorgio Agambenas). Teigiama, kad dalyvavimo praktikos bene aiškiausiai išreiškia šią gamybos ir veiksmo dialektiką šiuolaikiniame mene. Į vieną tinklą susiejus skirtingas filosofines koncepcijas (šnekos, taktikos, kasdienių praktikų, performatyvumo, kartotės), suformuojamas modelis, kuris pritaikomas dalyvavimo praktikų Lietuvos šiuolaikiniame mene analizei. Parodoma, kaip žvelgiant per gamybos ir veiksmo prizmę išryškėja tam tikros bendros su dalyvavimu susijusios problemos (pvz., dokumentacijos, meno įvykio ir meno kūrinio, darbo ir pramogos santykio ir kt.). Drauge koncepcinis modelis padeda atskleisti kiekvieno paskiro projekto specifiką, kvestionuoti kai kurias įsigalėjusias meno kritikos nuostatas, išryškinti naujus aspektus.
The dissertation deals with issues of those art practices, where an artist or a curator employs people as a project material so as to realize his/her creative purpose. Projects like this commonly expand beyond the aesthetic field: instead of representing social or political reality, they actually perform it. Therefore the dissertation aims at constructing a conceptual model that would enable the analysis of the problems around participatory art, as a practice operating both in aesthetic and social fields. The model is based primarily on rethinking of the classical divide between production and action (poiēsis and praxis) and the principle premise that contemporary production is increasingly becoming akin to action (Paolo Virno, Giorgio Agamben). The dissertation suggests that participatory practices are the clearest evidence of this dialectics between production and action in contemporary art. The model constructed of diverse philosophical concepts (idle talk, tactics, everyday practices, performativity, iteration) is employed for analysis of participatory art practices in Lithuania, which shows how looking through the prism of production and action foregrounds certain problems, general to participatory art (e.g. those of documentation, relation between art event and artwork, labor and entertainment, etc.). En cette ère de mondialisation, un des outils plus efficaces pour parvenir à la légitimité de la communauté internationale est la diplomatie publique. Dans le contexte de cette réalité, le cas d'Israël au cours des années 2000-2008 recèle une foule de renseignements sur l'effort d’un système de diplomatie publique étatique. Cette recherche tente d'identifier les contraintes ou/ et les catalyseurs qui constituent la base de l'utilisation efficace de la diplomatie publique étatique. L’analyse des résultats de la recherche dévoile deux contraintes majeures pour la diplomatie publique étatique au 21e siècle : 1 L’absence d’une stratégie appropriée 2 L’importance de la culture organisationnelle par rapport à tout changement structurel organisationnel. Sur la base de ces paramètres, l'étude propose un modèle différent de diplomatie publique qui est appelé la « diplomatie publique totale ». Les concepts principaux de ce modèle consistent à éliminer la dichotomie entre l’évènement et le message et à adapter un stratégie où « l’évènement (lui-même) est le message ». Cette approche nécessite l’intégration pleine et entière d’une diplomatie publique qui est au cœur de l'élaboration de la politique, ce qui permettra la création d'un système de diplomatie publique étatique adaptée aux réalités du 21ème siècle
In the 21st century one of the most efficient tools to achieve international legitimacy is public diplomacy. The Israeli case during 2000 -2008 offers a vast array of information about a state public diplomacy system - relatively experienced and yet with a limited success. This research identifies the constraints and catalysts that affect the efficient use of Israel's public diplomacy. The accurate identification of these constraints/catalysts is a pre-requisite to offer a valid way to improve it. Indeed, the research findings reveal two major constrains of a state public diplomacy system: 1. The lack of a (if any) suitable public diplomacy strategy , and 2. The crucial importance of organizational culture in defining the success of any structural change. Based on these parameters, the research offers a different concept that is named "total public diplomacy". This concept is based on the abolition of the dichotomy between the event and the message and calls for a public diplomacy that is an integral part of the policy where policy and public diplomacy serve each other as a rule, i. E. , "The event is the message". This will be supported by a "franchise type" structure that is adaptable to its environment - the 21st century’s communication technology

Cette thèse, qui s'articule autour des calendriers locaux appelés « Propres diocésains» de Chartres et de Mende, a pour but de chercher à mesurer l'implantation des saints locaux, tant dans la toponymie que dans la prénomination de ces deux diocèses éloignés, volontairement choisis en pays de langue d'oïl et de langue d'oc. Mis à part pour ceux que la toponymie« dévoile ", la connaissance des saints locaux semble réservée à l'Eglise, car les Propres diocésains sont des livres liturgiques très peu répandus parmi les laïcs. Toutefois, ces Propres sont essentiels pour comprendre l'hagiographie locale : les saints qu'ils recensent ont souvent laissé leur empreinte à la région. Leur étude approfondie nous montre que les trois volets -hagiographie locale, toponymie et prénomination -ne sont pas aussi étroitement liés entre eux que nous aurions pu le penser dans un pays où la culture chrétienne est profondément enracinée. Plus que les autres saints, les saints locaux retenus par la toponymie restent humains et deviennent même familiers, méritant parfois un surnom ou une déformation hypocoristique. Mais les saints locaux, même quand leurs cultes sont populaires, justifient rarement l'emploi de leur nom dans la prénomination. Après avoir présenté en deux chapitres liminaires la constitution des Propres des deux diocèses retenus, ainsi que l'histoire religieuse locale, la thèse se décompose en trois parties clairement indiquées dans le titre: hagiographie, toponymie et prénomination
This thesis, which analyzes the local liturgical calendars called «Propers » of the Chartres and Mende dioceses, seeks to determine the extent of adoption of the names of the local saints in both the choice of local place names as well as in the choice of given first names within each of these two geographically distant dioceses, specifically chosen to represent a diocese in both the "langue d'oïl" and "langue d'oc” Iinguistic regions. Except for those local saints whose names appear in local place names, they seem to be known mainly by the clergy, since the "Propres diocésains" are Iiturgical booklets rarely distributed among laymen. However, these "Propres" are essential to an understanding of the local hagiography: the saints which are recorded often left their marks on the country. A deeper analysis shows that the three aspects of hagiography and choice of local names and local given names are not as strictly correlated as one might have expected in a country where Christian tradition is as deeply implanted as it is in France. More than the other saints, the local saints whose names are given to toponymy are hum an and even familiar, sometimes earning a nickname or a hypocoristic distortion. However, the names of local saints, even when their cult is popular, are rarely chosen by parents living in the dioceses in their choice of first names for their children. After two preliminary parts, one about the « Propres Diocésains » and the other about the local religious history, the thesis is composed of three parts clearly evident in the title: hagiography, toponymy and first names

Tesis para optar al grado de Magister en Comunicación Social
l presente estudio se plantea definir las características de los memes de Crudo Ecuador y determinar el tema, tono y postura que toman sus comentarios con respecto al Gobierno del presidente ecuatoriano Rafael Correa. Crudo Ecuador fue una fanpage de Facebook dedicada a la creación y difusión de memes, que abordaban la cotidianidad política y social del Ecuador. Cesó su actividad en febrero de 2015, luego que su administrador, Gabriel González, denunció ser víctima de amenazas por parte del presidente ecuatoriano Rafael Correa. Un mes antes del cierre, el mandatario se pronunció en dos ocasiones en contra de la página, asegurando que es financiada por partidos políticos de la oposición. La polémica generada entre estos dos actores adquirió connotación mediática y por un par de semanas, los ojos de la opinión pública estuvieron sobre ellos. Es así, que la repercusión que tuvo este tema, fue el hito temporal-político que permitió seleccionar la muestra y las unidades de estudio: 7 memes y 444 comentarios. Para lograr los objetivos de esta investigación, se emplearon -en primera instancia- una revisión bibliografía sobre la materia, con la que se entiende al meme y a los comentarios como géneros discursivos propios de la comunicación digital, es decir, los memes se consideran como prácticas sociales, llenas de representaciones del mundo. Siendo, el planteamiento teórico de Mijail Bajtín acerca de los géneros discursivos, el que se toma como base del estudio. Definidos estos parámetros, se procede –en una segunda instancia- a obtener la información de los memes y comentarios seleccionados a través de un análisis de discurso. Con los resultados obtenidos, se realiza una lectura de cada una de éstas unidades de estudio, con lo que se logra caracterizar a los memes y desentrañar el tema y entonación de sus comentarios. Finalmente, se realiza una lectura transversal con la que se determina a los memes como discursos que generan un diálogo con los comentarios, pues logran ser comprendidos y respondidos, pero siempre desde una valoración axiológica, valoración que está dada desde el mismo meme o desde los diferentes grupos a los que pertenece el enunciatario.

Antrojo pasaulinio karo pabaigoje, gelbėdamiesi nuo antrosios sovietų okupacijos, į Vakarų Europą pasitraukė dešimtys tūkstančių Lietuvos gyventojų. Šių emigrantų banga skyrėsi nuo ankstesnių dėl to, kad šie emigrantai sudarė aukšto išsilavinimo, tautinėje Lietuvoje subrendusių bei tautiškai angažuotų tarpukario Lietuvos šviesuolių žiedą. Darbe nagrinėjami trys svarbiausi dipuku išgyventi laikotarpiai – tai Lietuva sovietų ir nacių okupacijų metu, gyvenimas ir kultūros padėtis pasitraukus į Vakarų Europos DP stovyklas ir tolimesnis etapas Vakaruose. Tiek senajai lietuvių emigrantų kartai – grynoriams, tiek – dipukams, gyvenant išeivijoje, ypač svarbi buvo religija. Religija jiems iš dalies asociavosi su tautiniu identitetu. Tik skirtingai nuo grynorių, dipukai, savo tarpe turėdami daugybę menininkų, savają tapatybę stipriai išreiškė vizualioje kūryboje. Matant, kad kai kurios lietuvių bažnyčios imamos griauti, yra aktualu kuo greičiau ištirti bažnytinėje dailėje, architektūroje ir jos dekoracijose dipukų paliktą tapatybės suvokimą. Sakralinė kūryba, pasireiškianti per religinius vaizdinius dailėje, stipriai pradėjo reikštis nuo pirmųjų dienų DP stovyklose. Vienas pirmųjų buvo plačiai imtas mene naudoti lietuvių tautodailės elementas – Rūpintojėlis, kuris tapo vienu iš pagrindinių simbolių, išreiškiančių lietuviškumą bei išeivijos patiriamus vargus dėl Tėvynės praradimo. At the end of the Second World War, thousands of Lithuanians immigrated to the countries of the Western Europe, escaping the second occupation of the Soviet Union. This wave of immigrants was different because it consisted of persons who matured and acquired education in an independent Lithuanian state and were substantial in forming its intellectual elite. The thesis analyses three main periods of displaced persons: Lithuania under the Soviet and Nazi occupations; the life and culture of displaced persons after their escape to the camps in the Western countries; and their further life in the West. Both the older generation of Lithuanian immigrants and displaced persons had strong feelings towards religion. They associated religion with their national identity. The generation of displaced persons, which in its circles had a lot of artists, strongly expressed their identity in visual arts. Upon seeing that many Lithuanian churches are about to be demolished, it is very important to analyze the perceptions (still manifest in the sacral art), architecture and its decorations created by the displaced persons. Sacral art, expressed through religious imagery in visual arts, was present from the first days of displaced persons camps. One of the first widely used symbols in the art was the figure of Pensive Christ. La variabilité des assemblages du Paléolithique inférieur dans l'ouest de l'Europe nourrit les débats actuels quant à leur relation avec les flux de populations, dans le contexte des changements environnementaux et paléogéographiques. Le faciès technique du Colombanien, localisé sur la façade atlantique bretonne, illustre cette variabilité. Selon la littérature, il diffère de l'Acheuléen, dominant dans les régions voisines, notamment par l'absence de bifaces. L'industrie du site de Menez-Dregan I (Plouhinec, Finistère) en constitue l'exemple dont le contexte géologique et paléoclimatique est le mieux documenté. Ce site a livré des traces de foyer qui sont parmi les plus anciennes d'Europe, ainsi qu'un abondant matériel, qui, dans les niveaux supérieurs, offre les prémices de la transition du Paléolithique inférieur vers le Paléolithique moyen. L'analyse des caractères techniques et typologiques des assemblages lithiques issus des couches 9 à 4 permettra de retracer l'évolution des stratégies d'approvisionnement et des comportements techniques et de replacer ce site dans le contexte régional et européen. La contemporanéité d’assemblages sans pièces bifaciales et à pièces bifaciales est attestée en Europe dès 700 ka. Si la plupart des sites européens présentent des assemblages à pièces bifaciales, les gisements à niveaux sans bifaces sont également assez nombreux. L’interstratification des niveaux à et sans pièces bifaciales sur certains sites est parfois interprétée comme le témoignage d’occupations liées à des activités spécialisées différentes, des matières premières différentes, ou des groupes humains aux traditions culturelles ou techniques différentes. De récentes publications de synthèse font état de la question : l’hypothèse de la coexistence de groupes humains aux traditions techniques différentes y est discutée, sur la base de modalités de débitage communes et d’utilisations similaires des territoires. Ainsi, seule la présence ou l’absence de bifaces tend à différencier ces occupations. Le travail engagé ici s’inscrit dans la lignée des études antérieures, mais a été entrepris dans le but de définir les systèmes techniques mis en œuvre au Paléolithique ancien dans l’ouest armoricain. Il permet ainsi de présenter des données nouvelles afin de caractériser les industries lithiques des sites dits « colombaniens ». Il ressort de notre étude que si le contexte paléogéographique et géologique ainsi que le type de gisement explique une certaine variabilité dans la composition des assemblages, cela n’explique pas les traditions techniques, et notamment la présence ou l’absence de pièces bifaciales ou de large cutting tools (LCTs). Si le type d’activité peut alors être mis en cause pour expliquer cette variabilité, une fréquentation répétée sur un même site, dans un contexte paléoenvironnemental globalement similaire, comme c’est le cas à Menez Dregan I indiquerait une visite régulière de groupes humains aux traditions techniques différentes, comme cela est aussi le cas sur d’autres gisements. Nous aboutissons ainsi à une révision du faciès Colombanien, qui s’avère être une variante régionale de l’Acheuléen. The variability in the Palaeolithic assemblages of western Europe feeds current debates about their relationship with population flows in a context of environmental and palaeogeographic changes. The technical Colombanian facies, located in the South Atlantic coast of Brittany, illustrates this variability. This facies differs from the Acheulean that is dominant in neighboring regions, especially in its lack of bifaces. The industry at the site of Menez-Dregan is an example where the geological and paleoclimatic context is the best documented in the region. Specifically, this site has yielded evidence of fireplaces that are among the oldest in Europe, and an abundance of lithic material, which, in the upper levels, evidences the beginning of the transition from the Lower Palaeolithic to the Middle Paleolithic. As for the analysis, the technical, typological and morpho-functional features of the lithic assemblages from layers 9 to 4 will trace the development of procurement strategies, techniques and behaviors to put this site into a regional and European context. The contemporaneity of assemblages with bifacial pieces and without bifacial pieces is attested in Europe from 700 ky. While most of the European sites display assemblages with handaxes, deposits without any bifacial components are quite numerous as well. On some sites, the interstratification of levels with bifacial pieces and without bifacial pieces is sometimes interpreted as a testimony of either specialized activities, different raw materials, or human groups with different cultural or technical traditions. Recent publications state the question: the hypothesis of a coexistence of human groups with different technical traditions is discussed, on the basis of similar modalities of debitage and similar use of landscape. Therefore, only the presence or absence of handaxes is left to differenciate these occupations. The work realised here joins in the lineage of the previous studies, but was undertaken with the aim of defining the technical systems operating during the Lower Palaeolithic in the western Armorican Massif. Therefore, it enables the presentation of new data in order to characterize the “Colombanian” lithic industries. It emerges from this study that if the palaeogeographical and geological context as well as the type of deposit explain a certain variability in the composition of the assemblages, it does not explain the technical traditions, especially the presence or absence of handaxes or large cutting tools. If the variability cannot be explained by activity alone then the repeated visits to a single site, given a globally similar palaeoenvironmental context as evidenced at Menez-Dregan I, likely indicates a regular occupancy by human groups with differing technical traditions. Therefore, we end up in a revision of the Colombanian facies, which turns out to be a regional variant of the European Acheulean. These results, when compared to paleoclimatic and palaeogeographic data, help develop a better understanding of the settlement dynamics of this region during Middle Pleistocene

Background and aims Childhood obesity is a serious global public health issue. The number of children affected has increased dramatically in recent years, and despite extensive research in this field, no effective generalisable prevention or treatment interventions have been achieved as yet. The aim of this randomised controlled trial (RCT) was to evaluate the efficacy of the Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it (MEND) programme, a multicomponent communitybased childhood obesity intervention. Methods One hundred and seventeen obese children were randomly assigned to intervention or waiting list control (6-month delayed intervention) groups. Parents and children attended eighteen 2-hour group educational and physical activity sessions held twice weekly in sports centres and schools, followed by provision of a 12-week free family swimming pass. Waist circumference, BMI, body composition, physical activity level, sedentary activities, cardiovascular fitness and self-esteem were assessed at baseline, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Results Participants in the intervention group exhibited reduced waist circumference z-score (−0.37; p < 0.0001, n = 81) and BMI z-score (−0.24; p < 0.0001, n = 82) at 6 months, compared to the control subjects. Significant between-group differences were additionally observed in cardiovascular fitness, physical activity, sedentary behaviours, and self-esteem. Mean attendance for the MEND programme was 86%, with a drop-out rate of 4%. At 12 months waist and BMI z-scores of children in the intervention group were reduced by 0.47 (p < 0.0001) and 0.23 (p < 0.0001), respectively, along with sustained benefits in cardiovascular fitness, physical activity levels, and self-esteem. Conclusions The MEND programme had beneficial effects on physical and psychological outcomes (anthropometry, cardiovascular fitness, physical activity habits, self-esteem), which were sustained at 12 months from baseline. The high attendance and low drop-out rates suggest that families found this intensive community-based intervention acceptable. Further studies are currently underway to confirm the promising findings of this trial.
