Abstract:
Every day, people struggle with mental health challenges; one in five people will experience a mental illness in their lifetime. Innovative approaches to strengthen the public mental health strategy warrant careful deliberation. This article reintroduces and explores the conceptual framework of mental hygiene. The concept of mental hygiene was originally introduced in the early 20th century, with the aim of preventing and treating mental illness and milder mental disorders. The movement lost its momentum shortly thereafter and the concept went largely ignored since then. Mental hygiene is a form of preventive maintenance that can be likened to other hygienic practices. Through the plasticity of the brain, mental training activities can foster healthy cognitive patterns that are conducive to well-being. The article offers a brief overview of some of the mental hygiene practices one can engage in, on a daily basis, to support well-being and assist in preventing mental health issues. Such mental training behaviors may potentially reduce ubiquitous human tendencies to ruminate and mind-wander without awareness, which when in excess correlate with increased activity of the default mode network and susceptibility to the pathogenesis of mental illness, along with impeding human flourishing. The article advocates for the routine engagement in healthy mental hygiene to become a global recommendation.

Abstract:
A century has passed since Klifford Beers published his work "A mind that found Itself". This paper has inspired the shift of mental hygiene towards the prevention of mental disorders and health improvements. At the beginning of this millenium, with much improved scientific knowledge, experience and possibilities, but confronted with new challenges we are observing the tempestuous historical features which have influenced the development of mental health care. Mental health is crucial for the welfare of a society and its individuals, since such disorders are not only the cause of emotional suffering, but they also deteriorate the quality of life, cause alienation and discrimination of an individual. At the same time, they are a great economic burden to the society as they require long-term therapy and often result in poor productivity. In order to decrease the burden of mental disorders it is required to stimulate prevention and improvement of mental health of the population within the framework of national policies, legislation and financing.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Typically, college students practice unhealthy sleep hygiene behaviors, obtain too little sleep, and experience poor sleep quality. Sleep hygiene includes the routines or practices that prepare a person for the best possible night of sleep. Good sleep hygiene habits, like creating a sleep-friendly environment and making time for sleep, promote healthy duration and quality of sleep. Stress is also an important factor to consider during the college experience. Sleep and mental health are tightly connected, and stress can negatively impact the sleep and mental health of individuals. The focus of the current study was to examine habitual sleep habits in college students, in association with sleep quality and psychological health. Methods Participants included 51 undergraduate students (18 men, average age M=20.25 years, SD=1.78) who wore wrist actigraphs to measure their typical sleep habits for one week. After one week, participants completed questionnaires about sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, PSQI) and sleep hygiene practices (Sleep Hygiene Index, SHI). Higher scores on PSQI represent poorer quality; higher scores on SHI represent unhealthy sleep hygiene behaviors. Mental health symptoms were measured by the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21). Results Overall sleep duration was 6.59 hours and sleep efficiency was 82.55% as measured by actigraphy. PSQI scores (M=6.86) demonstrated poor sleep quality and SHI scores (M= 24.80) indicated overall poor sleep hygiene practices. SHI scores predicted higher PSQI scores (F(1, 50) = 18.05, p<.001), but did not predict sleep duration or efficiency. Depression, anxiety, and stress scores on the DASS predicted poorer sleep hygiene (F(1, 50) = 18.05, p<.001; F(1, 50) = 5.82, p=.020; F(1, 50) = 13.42, p<.001; respectively). Conclusion As expected, college students’ sleep was short in duration, poor in efficiency, and poor in quality. Additionally, poor sleep hygiene practices predicted poorer sleep quality. Interestingly, scores that indicated worse depression, anxiety, and stress predicted poorer sleep hygiene practices, suggesting that mental health may contribute to healthy sleep practices. More research is needed to understand the complex relationship between mental health, sleep, and healthy sleep practices Support (If Any) None.

Abstract:
Mental disorders have the potential to affect an individual’s capacity to perform household daily activities such as water, sanitation, and hygiene (food hygiene inclusive) that require effort, time, and strong internal motivation. However, there is limited detailed assessment about the influence of mental health on food hygiene behaviors at household level. We conducted a follow-up study to detect the effects of mental health on food hygiene behaviors after food hygiene intervention delivery to child caregivers in rural Malawi. Face-to-face interviews, based on the Risk, Attitude, Norms, Ability, and Self-regulations (RANAS) model, were conducted with 819 participants (control and intervention group) to assess their handwashing and food hygiene-related behaviors. Mental health was assessed using the validated Self-Reporting Questionnaire. Study results showed a significant negative relationship between mental health and handwashing with soap behavior (r = −0.135) and keeping utensils in an elevated place (r = −0.093). Further, a significant difference was found between people with good versus poor mental health on handwashing with soap behavior (p = 0.050) among the intervention group. The results showed that the influence of the intervention on handwashing with soap behavior was mediated by mental health. Thus, integration of mental health in food hygiene interventions can result in improved outcomes for caregivers with poor mental health.

Abstract:
Sleep is an integral human need. A significant public health issue is getting little sleep, which harms health. University students are one of the groups most at risk for poor sleep quality and chronic sleep loss, which could influence both physical and mental health. Students frequently report having persistent sleep issues and may exhibit poor sleep hygiene habits. However, little research has investigated the role of good sleep habits concerning sleep quality and mental health. The present study explores the relationship between sleep hygiene, sleep quality, and mental health among university students. The research design was cross-sectional, and the sample was chosen using a non-probability convenience sampling strategy. Sample comprised of university students (N= 210). The scale of positive mental health, sleep hygiene index, and general sleep scale were used for data collection. Results revealed a significant correlation between sleep quality, sleep hygiene, and mental health among university students. Both sleep hygiene and quality were found to be significant predictors of positive mental health. A significant gender difference was found between sleep quality, sleep hygiene, and positive mental health among male and female university students. These findings can provide information about the link between the study variables and interventions for developing good sleep hygiene habits and quality of sleep amongst university students. It could help improve mental health among this at-risk population.

Abstract:
Patients’ effective hand hygiene helps to reduce healthcare-associated infections and prevents the spread of nosocomial infections and communicable diseases, such as COVID-19. Accordingly, this study aimed to describe effective hand hygiene decisions based on the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) and whether this pattern is invariant for mental health. Data were collected cross-sectionally from patients who had previously been admitted to a hospital (Nstudy 1 = 279; study 1) and longitudinally from psychosomatic rehabilitation patients (Nstudy 1 = 1073; study 2). The fit of the HAPA framework and changes in hand hygiene decisions regarding compliance, social-cognitive variables of the HAPA, and mental health status were examined. The results revealed that the trimmed HAPA framework fitted the data well (χ2 = 27.1, df = 12, p < 0.01, CMIN/df = 2.26, CFI = 0.97, RMSEA = 0.08). According to multi-group structural equation modeling, the HAPA model with hand hygiene behavior was found to be invariant regarding mental health. To conclude, the trimmed HAPA framework was revealed to be a generic framework for explaining social-cognitive processes relating to hand hygiene decisions. Therefore, helping individuals to perform hand hygiene recommendations requires intention formation and bridging the intention–behavior gap. This can be undertaken by promoting planning and self-efficacy. All processes appear generic to participants with and without mental health challenges.

Abstract:
IntroductionPoor oral health can have a serious impact on quality of life, social inclusion and self-esteem. There is evidence to suggest that people with serious mental illness have a greater risk of experiencing oral disease and have greater oral treatment needs than the general population. Oral health problems are not well recognized by mental health professionals. We therefore conducted a retrospective study to review oral health care monitoring within the community mental health team.Aims and objectivesTo review the oral health care monitoring for patients accessing the community mental health team.MethodologyAudit tool was developed based on oral health care guidelines outlined by the department of health, and literature review. We then retrospectively review medical records of 25 patients against following standards:.– every client should have the most basic of oral hygiene equipment–toothbrush;– clients should have basic oral hygiene knowledge, (i.e. brush twice or at least once a day);– every client should be registered to a dental practitioner;– every client should have at least one dental check-up per year;– clients with dentures should have their dentures checked up at least once in five years;– have a tooth brush less than three months old.ResultsOut of the 25 patients none had met the standards. It could be a reflection of lack of documentation rather than not providing appropriate information.ConclusionOral health care advice should be part of care plan for people accessing mental health service.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:
Background: The most common dental and oral health problems for people with mental retardation are gum tissue disease (periodontal), cavities and irregular teeth (malocclusion). This disorder is also coupled with the difficulty of the child being able to maintain healthy oral teeth independently and the inactivity of the oral muscles to get good natural cleaning of the teeth. Efforts to realize this healthy paradigm are carried out through a family approach and a healthy living community movement involving parents, especially in the parenting style of mentally retarded children. The aim of the study: to determine the relationship between parenting style and the level of dental and oral hygiene in children with mild mental retardation at SLB Tunas Indonesia, Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency. Methods: research with a cross-sectional design, a population of 60 people, consisting of parents and children with mild mental retardation at SLB Tunas Indonesia, taking samples using the total sampling method. Data were collected by examining oral and dental hygiene in children with mild mental retardation and filling out questionnaires by parents. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank statistical test. Results: the results show that the parenting style of parents of mildly mentally retarded children is mostly democratic parenting (70%), dental and oral hygiene (OHI-S) of mildly mentally retarded children is mostly with good criteria (66.7%), and there is a relationship between parenting style and the level of dental and oral hygiene in children with mild mental retardation (ρ value = 0.000 < α : 0.05). Conclusion: in this study it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parenting style and the level of dental and oral hygiene in children with mild mental retardation at SLB Tunas Indonesia, Cibitung District, Bekasi Regency. It is recommended for SLB Tunas Indonesia to provide health education about dental and oral hygiene to parents and mentally retarded children outside of study hours and practice directly, for example how to clean teeth and mouth properly and correctly.

Abstract:
Every religion and culture has its ideas about purity, cleanliness, and what constitutes good physical, personal, and mental cleanliness. The current Hindu society of today stands the same knowledge and customs, but they view hygiene from a different angle. Personal hygiene and sanitation are taken as significant aspects linked to Hindu society. Purity, faith, ritual, and cleanliness in Hindu society are based on the Hindu scriptures related to sanitation and hygiene patterns and the main objective of cleanliness and regular practice in the current society. The study is based on Hindu men and women above 35 years old. The study considers sanitation and hygiene in numerous aspects, including religion, social prestige, self-satisfaction, health, etc. The study includes toilet use, personal hygiene, safe drinking water, and household hygiene as variables. While sanitation and hygiene are prioritized in Hinduism, the modern Hindu community is evolving to recognize not only religious but also physical, social, and psychological well-being. The respondents had high knowledge, favorable attitudes, and good behavior about sanitation and hygiene. Hindu society has internalized and practiced sanitation and hygienic behavior from both religious and health perspectives. The Hindu community also agrees with the new approach to the relationship between Hindu rituals and hygiene and sanitation.

Abstract:
Current policy and practice directed towards people with learning disabilities originates in the deinstitutionalisation processes, civil rights concerns and integrationist philosophies of the 1970s and 1980s. However, historians know little about the specific contexts within which these were mobilised. Although it is rarely acknowledged in the secondary literature, MIND was prominent in campaigning for rights-based services for learning disabled people during this time. This article sets MIND’s campaign within the wider historical context of the organisation’s origins as a main institution of the inter-war mental hygiene movement. The article begins by outlining the mental hygiene movement’s original conceptualisation of ‘mental deficiency’ as the antithesis of the self-sustaining and responsible individuals that it considered the basis of citizenship and mental health. It then traces how this equation became unravelled, in part by the altered conditions under the post-war Welfare State, in part by the mental hygiene movement’s own theorising. The final section describes the reconceptualisation of citizenship that eventually emerged with the collapse of the mental hygiene movement and the emergence of MIND. It shows that representations of MIND’s rights-based campaigning (which have, in any case, focused on mental illness) as individualist, and fundamentally opposed to medicine and psychiatry, are inaccurate. In fact, MIND sought a comprehensive community-based service, integrated with the general health and welfare services and oriented around a reconstruction of learning disabled people’s citizenship rights.

BACKGROUND: Studies in adults suggested that sleep could be a significant contributor to mental health. However, little is known about their relationship in adolescents. OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to examine the overall associations of full-spectrum sleep behaviors, including sleep habits, sleep problems, and sleep hygiene, with mental health problems among adolescents in Shanghai, China. DESIGN: A stratified, cluster random sample of 4,823 adolescents aged 11 to 20 years participated in a cross-sectional survey. The Adolescent Sleep Disturbance Questionnaire and the modified Adolescent Sleep Hygiene Scale were used to examine sleep behaviors. The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire was used to evaluate mental health problems. RESULTS: Five sleep variables were found to be associated with adolescents’ mental health. The five factors covered three sleep domains: sleep habits (later bedtime during weekdays), sleep problems (maintaining sleep difficulties, disorders of arousal), and sleep hygiene (poor emotion at bedtime, unstable sleep schedule). CONCLUSIONS: The clinical significance of the findings lies in the emphasis of comprehensive screening of sleep in the predicting, diagnosis, nursing, and intervention of adolescents’ mental health problems.

In Japan the Mentally Disordered Persons Supervision and Protection Law (1901) and the Mental Hospital Law (1919) used to be the main laws for mentally disordered people. Subsequently, the Mental Hygiene Law came into force in 1950 but was criticised as it had restrained admitted patients and the provisions for procedures for the release of patients were inadequate. The purpose of the old law was to give medical treatment and custody to mentally disordered persons and to maintain and improve the mental health of the nation. In the revised law, enacted in July 1988, acceleration of social rehabilitation of mentally disordered persons and promotion of their well-being were added.

Abstract:
Although menstruation is a normal phenomenon, many girls across the world are subjected to social taboos and misconceptions and are denied the right to control their menstruation in a dignified and healthy manner. This results in poor menstrual hygiene and a high risk for adverse physical, emotional, and mental health outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to assess the menstrual hygiene practices and social taboos among the adolescent girls of Manipur. A school-based, cross-sectional study was conducted among 215 adolescent girls aged 10–19 years from different ethnic groups of Manipur. The mean menarcheal age is 12.4 ± 1.2 years. The majority of the participants (95.35%) are aware of the essence of menstruation. However, only half of the studied population follow hygienic practices concerning the type of absorbent used and the frequency of changing absorbents. Approximately 40% of the respondents are associated with social taboos and restrictions, and these belong exclusively to the Meitei community. In general, the menstrual hygiene practices of the studied adolescent girls are poor. Many girls, irrespective of different ethnic groups, are associated with unhealthy menstrual-related cultural beliefs and taboos. Therefore, future intervention programmes should be introduced to maintain hygienic and safe menstruation practices. Moreover, awareness should be developed, imparting adequate knowledge on menstrual hygiene and waste management practices to prevent associated adverse health outcomes.

Abstract:
The preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 have negatively impacted the mental health of people with chronic diseases. This cross-sectional study investigated the association between mental health and hand hygiene practices in patients with hypertension (HTN) and diabetes mellitus (DM) (n = 74,296) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their anxiety about contracting COVID-19 and death, depression, and hand hygiene practices were compared to that of controls. Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that the patients had higher anxiety and depression and poorer hand hygiene practices than controls. Anxiety about contracting COVID-19 was associated with increased handwashing before eating (aOR = 1.59), after using the restroom (aOR = 1.61), after returning from outdoors (aOR = 1.69), for at least 30 s (aOR = 1.45), and with soap or hand sanitizer (aOR = 1.43). However, depression was associated with decreased handwashing before eating (aOR = 0.50), after using the restroom (aOR = 0.51), after returning from outdoors (aOR = 0.51), for at least 30 s (aOR = 0.73), and with soap or hand sanitizer (aOR = 0.63). Anxiety about death showed similar results. Psychological support for people with chronic diseases in crisis situations may promote self-care activities such as hand hygiene for infection control.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction A variety of attitudes, behaviors, and health attributes can influence sleep quality. Depression and sleep quality interact bidirectionally, with depressed individuals often sleeping worse. College freshman may be prone to worse sleep and depression due to significant lifestyle changes, including sleep hygiene (a set of behaviors and conditions promoting sleep). This study sought to examine the relationship between sleep hygiene and depression in predicting sleep quality in first-year college students. Methods 165 participants were recruited to investigate sleep behaviors associated with stress, mental health, physical activity and eating as they entered college. Data were recorded using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI; Buysse et al., 1989), the Sleep Hygiene Practice Scale (SHPS; Lin et al., 2007; Yang et al., 2010) and the Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression (CESD; Radloff, 1977). A simple mediation analysis was run using the PROCESS macro for SPSS (Model 4; Hayes, 2018) with age and gender as covariates to examine direct and indirect associations of depression on sleep quality via sleep hygiene practices. Results In the model predicting sleep hygiene (R2 = .33, p < .001), depression had a significant effect (b = 1.90, p < .001), suggesting individuals scoring higher for depression engaged in more unhealthy sleep hygiene behaviors. The model predicting sleep quality (R2 = .47, p < .001) had significant effects from depression (b = .11, p = .005) and sleep hygiene (b = .09, p < .001) suggesting both higher depression scores and poor sleep hygiene behaviors associate with worse sleep quality. The indirect pathway was also significant (b = .17, CI: .11 - .24), suggesting depression’s impact on sleep hygiene behaviors also contributes to sleep quality. Conclusion One connection between depression and reduced sleep quality may be indirect via maladaptive sleep hygiene. Future research should look at addressing mental health with incoming students and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors. Support (If Any) NA

Abstract:
The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the degrees of value-motivational, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components in health care workers of psychiatric health care facilities concerning their health. The degree of risk and value of the personal hygiene of health care workers is determined. The main components and factors that affect the attitude to personal health are revealed. The awareness of the own emotional and cognitive experiences by the medical staff of psychiatric hospitals regarding the preservation and strengthening of their hygiene is analyzed. According to research on the value-motivational component of the medical staff of psychiatric health care concerning the place of personal health in the hierarchy of values in life, it was found that own health is on the second place – 15.2% males, nursing staff (NS), 15.1% females, are psychiatrists and women NS, 14.8% are men psychiatrists. In case of a deterioration of own health both women (35,6%), and men (35,5%) psychiatrists are engaged in self-treatment, the similar tendency is among NS – women NS – 31,3%, men NS – 31, 5%), in 25.8% of cases female psychiatrists and in 23.1% of men NS do not pay attention to the disease at all, which leads to occupational diseases and chronic diseases. At the same time, occupational diseases among doctors and NS do not exceed 10% of the total number of occupational diseases in Ukraine due to self-medication and early treatment. Therefore, the statistics of occupational diseases of health workers in that field are underestimated compared to the actual ones.

Abstract:
Objective. The health care system of the interwar period is distinguished by its revolutionary attempts to overcome social diseases and social hardships in general. In the researches published after the Second World War, different and in some cases even contradicting ideas on mental hygiene and eugenics were mixed together and were associated – almost exclusively – with the Nazi’s racist ideology, totalitarian, or authoritarian regimes. The assessments of social-medical policy of the interwar period in the Baltic region also became rather one-sided. Felder’s recent study (1) gives the impression that changes in psychiatry in Lithuania were caused by the Nazi’s eugenics as a single agent. However, there were other factors. One of the most significant ones was the mental hygiene movement that will be discussed in this paper. Methods. In this research we used descriptive and comparative methods. Results. After the First World War, the problem of treatment of the mentally ill was a medical and a social issue that required a completely new approach both in Lithuania and in Vilnius. The most notable manifestation of such a new attitude in psychiatry was a mental hygiene movement. University scientists in Vilnius and Kaunas were discussing issues of mental hygiene. Conclusions. The mental hygiene movement of the early 20th century played an important role in the later development in psychiatry and medical sciences. The ideas published by the medical doctors in Kaunas and Vilnius were partly characteristic of the interwar period, although some of them went far ahead of their times.

Abstract:
Introduction: The oral health needs of intellectually disabled are complex and may be related to underlying congenital or developmental anomalies as well as the inability to receive adequate personal and professional care to maintain. This research suggests that people with Intellectually Disability such as Mental retardation, are more likely to have poor oral hygiene, periodontal diseases and high incidence of trauma and possibly more likely to have caries than people without Intellectual disability. Aim: The study aims to assess the oral hygiene status and prevalence of malocclusion among special children in tribal population of Southern India. Materials and Methods: Mouth mirror, periodontal probe, straight explorer were used to examine the children. Results: The obtained data are subjected to chi-square test to compare between demographical variables. Statistical significance was fixed at p-value <0.001. Conclusion: We hereby conclude that the maintenance of oral hygiene is difficult among mentally disabled children due to their improper level of understanding. Therefore it is also essential to enlight or to bring awareness and knowledge among the parents, caregivers, about maintaining the proper oral hygiene status and preventive measures. Methods: A cross-sectional study based on a series of observations. Fifteen families with children who have mental disabilities were selected for the study through a purposive sampling method. A questionnaire and the Spearman rank correlation coefficient from the OHI-S.test are utilized for analysis. Results: The test's significance value was 0.029 0.05, indicating that there is a statistically significant association between parental education and dental health in children with mental impairment. Conclusion: Parents' knowledge has a strong relationship with the oral hygiene status of mentally retarded children at SDLB-C Yayasan Bahagia Tasikmalaya City, with coefficient correlation value 0,563.

Abstract:
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of the dmft-DMFT indexes and the oral hygiene status of 136 individuals attending a special school for the disabled. Methods: Participants were grouped according to disability [Mental Retardation (MR), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autistic Disorder (AD), Down Syndrome (DS), Other (OTH)] and age [2-6 years (n=24), 7-12 years (50 children) and 13+ years (62 children]. Caries examinations were carried out in accordance with WHO criteria and oral cleanliness was evaluated by visually assessing the presence of plaque on teeth. Results: The age range of patients was 2-26 years (mean age: 11.89±5.19 years). Mean dmft and DMFT scores by age group were as follows: 2-6 years: dmft=2.04±2.24; 7-12 years: dmft=2.24±2.60, DMFT=0.98±2.58; 13+years: DMFT=2.68±2.91. Overall, 15.4% of children had no caries or fillings. While dmft and DMFT levels (P>.05) did not vary significantly by type of disability, oral cleanliness did. Children with autism were observed to maintain the best oral hygiene and those with mental retardation (MR), the poorest. Conclusions: It is important for the dentist to concentrate on a preventive approach and provide proper dental education to parents of disabled individuals. Among the children with disabilities, more attention should be paid to the oral hygiene of MR group. (Eur J Dent 2010;4:361-366)

Abstract:
Introduction/Objective. Previous investigations pointed to a notable frequency of periodontitis appearance in persons with mental disorders, but almost none of them were addressed to the periodontitis among young adults with mental disorders as a target group, which can have high public health significance. Therefore, the aim of this investigation was to estimate the prevalence of periodontitis among young adults suffering mental disorders and to determine probable risk factors for their overall periodontal health. Methods. The investigation included two groups of patients, each group having 81 participants-the study group (young adults with mental disorders) and the control group (mentally healthy young adults). The study instruments included a questionnaire (age, gender, psychoactive substances use, and maintaining oral hygiene) and CPI for both groups, and the data concerning primary disease of mentally deceased patients (diagnostic category, mental disorder duration, number of hospitalizations, and psychotropic medications). Results. In terms of psychoactive substances use and maintaining oral hygiene, statistically significant differences were observed between groups in all independent variables. Young adults with mental disorders shown a high prevalence of periodontitis compared to the mentally healthy young adults. Also, gender, smoking habits and the use of antipsychotics exhibited as possible risk factors contributing current periodontal health of young mentally deceased patients. Conclusion. This study indicates the need for more consideration for periodontal health among people with mental disorders and determination of potential models for its improvement.

Abstract:
Based on an analysis of the discourses, the ideological appropriation and the practical influence of mental hygiene in Spanish psychiatry during the early years of the Francoist regime, this article examines its decline and subsequent replacement by the new concept of mental health promoted by the World Health Organization and other international bodies from the mid-twentieth century. The old approach, essentially focused on the prophylaxis of insanity within the framework of a set of interventionist policies of social defence, was thus transformed from the beginning of the 1960s into a much more ambitious and comprehensive project which sought to promote the psychosocial balance and performance of individuals in the context of increasingly socialized health-related discourses and networks of care.
