Full textA cross- sectional descriptive study using a self-administered close-ended questionnaire was conducted with pupils in standards four to seven (aged 10 &ndash
17 years) in ten government primary schools in Meru District. The sample of 400 school pupils was obtained by a simple random sampling technique. Data analysis was done using Statistical Package for Social Sciences SPSS (version 15) computer software and the results were presented in frequencies using simple percentages, tables and graphs. The Chi-square test was used to assess the significance where a p-value of <
0.05 was considered statistically significant. In conclusion, Primary school pupils in Meru district engage in several risky sexual behaviors including substance use, sexual coercion, early sexual debut and engaging in various sexual practices. This calls for a more comprehensive approach in the fight against HIV among primary school children in Tanzania, which could include life skill training at an early age, behaviour change communication interventions, advocacy activities to influence policy formulation, condom promotion and incorporating key stakeholders in the rollout of school based HIV programmes such as parents, community leaders and faith-based organizations leaders.

Full textBackground: Obesity is an international health problem. Early intervention of child care is important and can avoid and prevent future complications. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe the district nurses' experiences of supporting families with an overweight child to a healthier lifestyle. Methodology: Qualitative interviews were conducted with eight district nurses in child health care in southern Sweden. The analyses of the interviews were done by manifest qualitative content analysis. Results: Study findings are reported in three categories:”Relationships between district nurses and parents”, “The importance of parents' awareness and willingness to change” and “Supporting families to healthy nutrition and exercise”. The study showed that parents understanding and willingness to change and motivation was the key to change to a healthier lifestyle when a child was overweight. Trying to support a family when parents lacked insight was a difficult balancing act that required a professional approach. District nurses' pre-understanding, experiences, prejudices and attitudes may affect their treatment and family reactions consciously or unconsciously. They could sometimes feel frustration when families were not interested in the support they had to offer. Multidisciplinary collaboration was infrequent. Conclusion: It is significant that district nurses are aware of that not all perceive obesity as a problem. Own preconceived ideas and values can affect the interaction with families. Parents’ knowledge and motivation are determining factors for district nurses to support families to a healthier lifestyle.

District heating constitutes about 12 % (48 TWh) of the total energy usage in Sweden. Arguments for utilize district heating to provide housings and premises with heat are the possibility to use different kinds of fuels with various prices and quality, the good efficiency a centralized heating plant gives and the benefits of produce electricity and heat at the same time.
The energy company HEM supplies Halmstad and surrounding area with district heating and the produced amount of energy 2009 was 596 GWh. Waste and bio fuels constitutes the largest part of produced energy but also industrial lost heat and small amounts of oil and natural gas are used to produce heat.
The competitive situation for district heating is in many places close to monopolistic because only one major participant owns the market. It is important to improve a district heating system to maintain it’s ability to be competitive in the future. The following report investigates and describes interventions to make an already existing district heating system more efficient.
From meetings with personnel, ten items has been presented evaluating different elements in the district heating system of Halmstad. These elements also give a view of how well HEM:s district heating system works in different areas.
The conclusion of this report shows that the potential of a more energy efficient system is possible but the economical benefits are few.

Full textBackground: Wound treatment is a part of the district nurse daily tasks, a task that is time consuming. The focus is often in finding the right dressing and conversion interval. The patient's lifestyle affects the wound healing process. Through a holistic view and a collaboration with the patient, wound healing can be facilitated. Aim: The aim of the study was to describe how the district nurse works with the elderly patient's lifestyle in connection with difficult-to-heal leg ulcers. Method: Qualitative method with inductive approach was used in the study. The data collection was carried out with a web-based, asynchronous survey. The sample consisted of district nurses from the southeastern region and the collected material was analyzed using a content analysis. Results: The district nurses described a lack of structure in the work with the patient's lifestyle. The documentation was made in different ways in primary care and municipal home health care. This led to a lack of information transfer and follow-up. The district nurse discussed the patient's lifestyle with open questions and motivational conversations. At the same time, they emphasized the importance of the patient's own responsibility. The district nurses felt that more attention should be paid to the importance of living habits. To do that, time and continuity are needed. The district nurses described that reflection is seldom carried out in a structured way. Reflection was requested by the district nurses for the exchange of knowledge and for raising awareness of living habits. Conclusion: Despite the fact that the district nurses have great competence in working with living habits in connection with wound healing, there is too little focus in the daily work. The district nurses' preventive work is seen as a core element in the profession. Living habits need to be given a greater place in wound care work in primary care and municipal home health care to draw attention to the connection with wound healing.

Full textAgriculture and the rural society have been constantly changing in the district of Montreuil-sur-Mer since 1850. The production and marketing techniques and structures haves modernized. Farming and cattle breeding have developed. Unionism, mutualism and cooperation have emerged. Farms have become huger and the numbers of farmers has been decreasing. The district has got one of the most powerful and active organizations in the country. The Agricultural Company of Montreuil-sur-Mer was established in 1821 and has been defending the farmers interests and spreading progress since. It was run b Octave Corne from 1923 to 1956. It reached its climax during the interwar period. However, the territory remained one of the least developed areas of the Straits of Dover throughout those years. Productivity, cereal crops in particular, has been one of the lowest of the Straits of Dover. Farms are less well-equipped than in the Arras and Bethune areas. Backwardness mainly results from the natural conditions which are quite hard, the poor quality of the soil and from a conservative attitude. Disparities remain at a local level as well. The rapid expansion of farming and cattle breeding is far more important in the coast areas and in the south of the Canche than in the north eastern ones. The regions of Fruges and Hucqueliers are indisputably the most deprived of the district

Full text"The difficulty with the case is that although the court was unanimous in its decision (in effect, because the judge had misdirected the jury), there is clear divergence in opinion as to what the law should be; between Mellish LJ and Baggallay LJ on the one hand and Bramwell LJ on the other. The latter’s robust views on the need for parties to look after their own interests would seem to leave little scope for judicial intervention. In general, the law has developed more along the lines indicated by Mellish LJ.
