Autor razmatra značenje astronomije u proučavanju rimskog mitraizma, osobito u tumačenju kultne slike ubijanja bika. Daje pregled razvoja mišljenja o kultnoj slici kao zvjezdanoj karti. Slaže se s tvrdnjama Speidela i Ulanseya da likovi s nje odgovaraju zviježđima s ekvatora. Drži pogrešnom Speidelovu tvrdnju da je Orion Milrin dvojnik medu zviježđima, zbog mitoloških i ikonografskih nesukladnosti tih dvaju likova.
